[Music] Lexus presents tennis on Sky Sports but I'm delighted to say that the world number one eish f is with us EA thank you so much for your time thank you for having me congratulations today on your win thanks I'm wondering with you have such a good record in Grand Slams do you approach grand slams does the mindset have to be the same as every other tournament or is it slightly different in your mind and your approach well the goal for me is for it to be the same uh because I want to treat every match you know the same way in that way I'm not putting too much baggage on my shoulders I can just focus on the right stuff but for sure you feel like it's a little bit different and you feel different atmosphere so um there's a little bit more pressure but I'm still trying to you know uh be in my bubble and just focus on the right things focus on just working and not really what kind of results I I'm expecting you know um and this is the best way for me to go for sure absolutely IG I'm not sure if you're aware of that stats but since you arve into the Grand Slam debut for you was back in 2019 you actually won 26 sets by six love a vle 26 sets I mean I played a fairly bit of tennis it's hard to begel someone but to do it 26 time in the Grand Slam that's really another level so that shows obviously your incredible mental strength to just keep on plugging in every single point but are you aware at the scoreboard do you keep a track or you just keep on going every single point as you want to win all of them H honestly I'm not because um I feel like these kind of scores like create like more and more expectations like I don't know um I also realize that sometimes um I want to win that way instead of you know really grinding and sometimes you know winning 76 76 it's also a good score but uh that's why I'm trying not to think about that and um I know that's you know it doesn't matter really what the score is it's important that you're through and um and you won so um so yeah I I tried to yeah but I know that for fans it's really cool to keep track of this St so I I I'm happy that I can make it more fun for them we were with you last week in Cincinnati when it was so fast and and so Lively how much adjustment did you have to make here and how much was it about getting the balance of rest because you played a lot of tennis but also getting used to these conditions getting rest for sure it was really important especially you know uh because of the fact that we're in New York and there's always like so much to do and um I also had some you know activities off the court uh so yeah I mean I haven't practiced as much as uh before the Cincinatti tournament so I'm you know still trying to figure it out um and for sure you need to play differently and um have a different approach sometimes being ready for longer rallies and knowing that you're not going to finish just in one shot you know uh because it's not so fast here and um I I feel like I'm ready for that but for sure um you always need couple of hours uh on a match court to just just um make it more natural and can I ask you you talked about staying in your bubble how easy or hard is it in a city like New York that doesn't sleep and there's Madness and there's noise everywhere well it's not easy um I think it's the hardest place for me to do that but um but it doesn't really it doesn't matter you know when I'm focusing you still won here you won this tournament you can do it yeah that's true exactly so I'm um not really overanalyzing that you know um even though it's it's pretty hard I I have my ways and I'm more you know focusing on what my coach and my team is like saying to me they're also helping me to um recover better in between matches and um and that's it you know sometimes it's going to be harder sometimes it's going to be easier also you know uh it's September we have already like nine months of playing tennis so I'm not expecting it's going be per but um I'm just expecting that I'm going to do my best and that's it and just sit in a little bit of traffic in New York thank you so much for being with us congratulations today and good luck moving forward thanks a lot good luck congratulations good luck right we're going to we're going to let you go than
