METEOROLOGIST MO ROSE. GOOD FRIDAY MORNING TO YOU. LOOKING AT THAT 12 HOUR FORECAST. AND LOOK AT THAT CAMERA ALREADY STARTING TO SEE THOSE RAINDROPS ON THE LENS THERE. VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC. SO NOT A LOT OF FOLKS UP AND OUT YET. BUT IF YOU ARE HEADED OUT SOON I NEED YOU TO GRAB THAT UMBRELLA BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT. WE'RE GOING TO SEE THE RAIN CHANCES EVEN GOING UP OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. WE ARE GOING TO REMAIN IN THE 60S, KIND OF THAT RAIN COOLED AIR. AS SOON AS WE START TO DIAL BACK THOSE RAIN CHANCES, THOUGH, WE'LL START TO GET NUMBERS UP A LITTLE BIT MORE. WE'RE GOING TO WARM INTO THE UPPER 70S BY LATER ON. THIS AFTERNOON, LIKELY HITTING AROUND 80, BUT WE'RE ALSO GOING TO WATCH FOR A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS AS WE BEGIN TO WARM UP THIS AFTERNOON. SO DON'T BE CAUGHT OFF GUARD IF YOU HEAR A RUMBLE OF THUNDER, BUT I THINK WE'RE GOING TO BE MAINLY RAIN OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. THIS IS ALL PART OF WHAT IS NOW POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE FRANCINE, SO IT'S DECAYED QUITE A BIT SINCE IT WAS A CATEGORY TWO, ABOUT 36 HOURS AGO, AND HERE'S THE OUTER BANDS THAT ARE IMPACTING US RIGHT NOW AS PART OF THIS. REMNANTS OF FRANCINE YOU'LL SEE IN THE YELLOW. IT'S COMING DOWN A LITTLE HEAVIER IN THOSE SPOTS. BUT AT THIS POINT WE'RE NOT EXPECTING ANY BIG FLOODING. THE GROUND HAS BEEN SO DRY IT NEEDS TO ABSORB SOME OF THAT WATER, BUT YOU MAY ENCOUNTER SOME PONDING ON THE ROADWAYS AS YOU'RE DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IN PARTS OF LIKE MOUNT WASHINGTON WHERE YOU'RE SEEING A LITTLE BIT MORE YELLOW. WE'RE ALSO SEEING SOME HEAVIER POCKETS OF RAIN NORTH OF BARDSTOWN IN THE METRO ITSELF. SOME OF THOSE DARKER SHADES OF GREEN, IT'S A LITTLE BIT MORE MODERATE AS FAR AS THE RAIN, BUT AT THIS POINT NO BIG PROBLEMS. AND ALSO NO STORMS. THE FUTURE RADAR IS PICKING UP ON THIS BAND AS WELL, AND HOW IT'S GOING TO BE PROGRESSING THROUGH THE AREA. WE'RE GOING TO BE TRENDING DRIER LATER THIS AFTERNOON, BUT WE COULD STILL HOLD ON TO A CHANCE FOR SOME RAIN. EVEN A THUNDERSTORM OVERNIGHT. ALSO LOOKING A LITTLE DRIER. ASIDE FROM AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR TWO. AND THEN TOMORROW IS LOOKING MUCH DRIER THAN WE ORIGINALLY ANTICIPATED. SO THOSE OUTDOOR PLANS GO AHEAD AND KEEP THEM. WE'LL EVEN SEE A LITTLE BIT MORE SUNSHINE TOMORROW AS WE START TO CHASE THOSE CLOUDS AWAY. AND THE REMNANTS OF FRANCINE CONTINUES TO PUSH ON OUT OF THE REGION, GOING TO THE GASLIGHT FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND. UPPER 80S BOTH DAYS. IT'S GOING TO BE WARM. LITTLE A SMALL CHANCE FOR AN ISOLATED SHOWER ON SATURDAY, BUT WE'RE DRIER ON SUNDAY AND THEN THE DRY SKIES CONTINUE THE REST OF THE WEEK.
