third now with two outs it's Cody Bellinger and it's inside for ball one 99 missing and how many times you get a leadoff double and you expect to get the run home right well against SK sure you do that's not the case from the other side of the coin too from experience when you're out there in the middle of the diamond you you're like okay ground ball right side it's going to get just past Alica williams' dive and the Cubs will get that first inning run on a hard roller through the infield RBI hit for Bellinger one- nothing Chicago I was about to say you you kind of in your mind that lead off double he's like okay he's I'm I'm going to approach this like he's scored I'm just going to try and get the next three guys out and at the end of the inning if he's still out there great if not okay well that's on me I gave a b off double that's that's kind of a I think as a starting pitcher you got to have that mindset so that you'll Bend but don't break don't don't try to stop that Runner right away yeah first inning of a game there's an inside strike on the spinker to isach Paredes so one- nothing Cubs they open with an early tally got to try and tell yourself you know if that one early only thrown 90 or more five times so he's just he's really been on a uh short leash a lot of that is because of he's been giving up a lot of runs too they get him out of there onew rolled over to right-hander he was excellent still two strikes on another throw over so that's the two disengagements exhausted by skines to try to keep Herer close he's stolen 25 bases got a big lead and o02 put a one hopper right on the money that was an extraordinary throw yeah it was a one hopper right there it wasn't handled and nobody was backing up the play so either one of those if the ball is caught or if somebody if the if schames was backing up then nobody moves up 90 ft and Cruz doesn't get an error he's got a bunch of errors this year on on those throws just like that Beth and court with a man at third one out tried to push a bunt and found it strike one on Beth and Court yeah that that is I mean uh you know when you go and look back and you you're going to say ER is Fielding percentage watch the 20 or so games 25 games that he plays out there that is such an advantage to have him be able to throw from center field like that that's down low one ball and one strike look at Jackson Merill the rookie in San Diego one of the other top rookies in the league and he came up as a middle in Fielder and they put him out center field and he's got a great arm not quite like Cruz if that ball was caught might have had an out you know was it was going to be a bang bang play at the plate the pitch and that's down low two and one so goes as a single for Crow Armstrong in RBI moves to second on the throw and to Third on what has to be ruled the error on the throw even though you have to give an error to somebody yeah there should be two guys there instead of just one and it's almost I would say 98% of the time they give the error on the whoever threw it down low three and one but that was a the first time that we've seen the arm from the outfield for Cruz he threw at 103 mph 103.3 from The Outfield soft Tapper to short Kor FFA ales to go to First and Crow Armstrong will score bethan court and RBI bounce out it's 3 to1 Chicago it it's so tough to throw somebody out at the plate the that has the the speed they're going on contact when the ball's especially when the ball's chopped like that so you just go ahead and take the sh out at first base it's still early in the ball game and there's a strike so Cruz's throw from center field by the way that's it's the second hardest throw in all the baseball this season this is his second inning playing in the Outfield so those uh those skills will be on display that's down low one ball and one strike to Ian half three runs across for the Cubs only once has skin allowed more than three runs in and Outing in his plate change up right down the middle and now two and one on grandall at that game-winning home run on Sunday was in there on Monday and now again here today here's the pitch outside 3 and one Henry has caught yesterday his first start in this stint with the Pirates grandal has caught skines in 16 of Skin's 18 starts in the big leagues and even once in Indianapolis half swing strike three balls at two strikes and skines has said that he'll look back and really value having grandal behind the plate once in a lifetime opportunity is what he called it have a veteran catcher catching him his rookie season grandal will draw a leadoff walk against Hendrick Hendrick's second walk today quick and and looking at his history of how often they pull him out he won't be out there very long well because of the big leads they established in the first two games the Cubs could be aggressive with their top bullpeners today here's triolo two for five with a home run lifetime against Hendrick she'll take off the plate away for ball one bethan Court appears peeved that these pitches that are two and three balls off the plate aren't called strikes but Edwin Moscoso has been on it there's a slid step delivery outside again two balls and no strikes on a change up missing and I think that points to what you were saying earlier Bob about how Hendrix really does need a widened Strike Zone yeah he he if he starts getting pitches called strikes on the edges and he is much much more effective 20- is hit on a line out to deep right field Bellinger chasing it goes over his head bounds Off the Wall he Fields the rebound that's a double for triolo and grandall had to see it down he'll get to Third so second and third for the Pirates nobody out and Alica Williams is coming up triolo's really hit pretty solidly since Hayes has going on the injured list oh yeah he certainly has has a come back alive with that bat PES down to here in the second the pitch half swing strike change up an 01 and that's outside change up fading away from Reynolds batting left and it's one ball and one strike kind of pick your poison right now for Hendrick Reynolds don't want to give him anything to hit but Cruz is sitting there on Deck tap foul one and two Cruz is one of the hottest hitters in baseball now and rs had a long home run off me so who do I pitch to here you got to pick one of them so
