follow we'll be answering all of your questions here live on the show whether from Twitter from the website or live in the Stream um also going to talk about nil law changing here in Florida high schoolers in Florida now allowed to receive n deals kind of coming in line with a lot of other states I think this a beneficial thing for University of Miami but most of all for the student athletes uh to get paid for what they can bring and who they are so excited to talk about that first want to talk about some folks who can help you if you have an issue and you may be entitled significant compensation as Anar and LaVine accident attorneys 1 1800 747 free 18747 3733 if you or someone you care about has been injured in an accident Take Back Control of your life with Anar and LaVine all right Pete jump in so before we get into recruiting questions and team questions I know we got a ton from all the folks on this stream again thank you everybody for joining us please like And subscribe to the Pod we'll be doing that a lot throughout the show but Pete as nil law you know you have monitored this from back in your old agent days to now what is your take on what the fhsa just did here well obviously getting getting caught up to now becoming the 30th State that's going to allow this so getting caught up there a little bit the kind of couple things to note here D no High School collectives are going to be allowed so obviously we've seen the collectives take over the Collegiate space and there's nothing that says they can't receive payments from Collegiate collectives but in terms of look there's obviously some schools in the state of Florida that have uh you know more means uh to be able to go out and potentially get guys right and they're they're trying to kind of limit that from happening what they're really trying to do here is allow the students and high school students to be able to make money from these businesses from endorsements that you would see in normal uh you know marketing type deals right different local companies whatever the case may be but they're trying to prevent the increase of transfers which it's already an open enrollment state right so the transfers guys can transfer and girls can transfer as much as they want to already but my fear the way I look at it is you'll see more of these empty promises under the table deals there's nothing that's stopping someone from being heavily involved at a school also owning a business on the side and saying look I can get you a deal with my company with my business right so student athletes and their parents and Guardians are going to be required to negotiate these nio activities independent of their school so the school can't be the one setting up the deals again very much like we've seen in college the school you know School can't be the ones directly uh paying them but this is the part that gets me D and and you tell me what you think about this but I'll read this from from one of the stories interestingly the FHSAA does include a line in its new bylaws that says a student athlete could impact their amateur status by hiring a registered agent to manage his or her athletic career other than the purpose of advising on nil related matters so there so agents can be hired registered agents meaning agents in the State of Florida this is not this is not an NFL agent it it could be an NFL agent but an agent is someone who basically is telling the state I'm registered to do business as an agent in the state just like we see with other you know real estate agents or other businesses uh in the state of Florida but this is a funny one to me D because we see so many of these middlemen these Street agents here in not just in Florida in South Florida throughout the country but we're talking about Florida here so they're saying basically they don't want agents to come in and say well we got to take the kid out of this school because they're you know he's not getting the play time and stuff like that and I'm his agent and you know that's what but there's already people doing that and they aren't actually registered agents so to me it's it's just very interesting uh some of the wording here but those are some of my thoughts yeah I look the agan side and I was familiar with I know parents got a lot going on to be expected to manage all this stuff and that's why you see third parties get involved they maybe aren't certified bottom line I think with this whole thing is there is a group there's a pile of money that people want to give to these give to these high school student athletes and they should be allowed to get it I mean it's America they're not doing anything illegal right they're not stealing from other people they're not subverting anything they just want to get paid for who they are and the people want to get pay them so I don't see the reason for a barrier other than bureaucracies and keeping people employed who really don't do a good job anyways and you know you've seen all these AAS right the fhsa NCAA whatever usually when you read about them they're screwing something up in my opinion and then you read about the people involved and it's the typical you know bureaucracy stuff so I don't see a benefit of keeping those guys empy by having to enforce stuff to keep money away from these student athletes who are working hard every day in the heat my opinion um those guys should be getting paid you just saw you know 247 who makes their money dealing with these high school student athletes they sold for nine figures and probably on the higher end of nine figures it wasn't publicly disclosed so someone's making money off this whole deal I think it's fine Beyond fine I think it's right that these kids who are the ones working in the heat all summer all winter um non-stop on top of being you know students never to stay eligible and all the other stuff they got to do they should be the ones getting paid not only these giant corporations that make hundreds of millions of dollars off their back my opinion I think there's a great thing Florida coming in line with the rest of the of the country and now it's up to you know the athletes and and their people to figure out the best way to monetize themselves number one first and foremost and if there's more freedoms allowed for certain Partnerships then we'll see how that develops you know I think it's only you know it's a um podcast from a um slant I think it's going to help um um more than anything because they're here they're the hometown team um so any kind of flexibility is good um to to to proceed accordingly um's not going to be involved in any of this directly um but you know limitations on on student athletes getting paid to me only helps the AAS NCAA the fhsa all these AAS who really to me um aren't worthy of protection so that's my view that's the that's the new law will we monitoring that closely so uh let's get some questions in here on um on recruiting so actually got one here there not recruiting related from 30 Rock shotty here 30 rack shotty I'm sorry also know why not a collab with Miami Flo um you know I respect Flo a lot I did something with with Max and Mike um I'd love to do you know home and home with Flo you know if he wants to do one tell him to reach out to me be happy to do it man respect what he's doing and uh I'm always down to go on other platforms and have other people you know on this one we're on every day so plenty of plenty of real estate for that so you know while people are getting their questions in there's one there's a couple on Twitter D I'll pull up uh I'll pull up here so it might be a little bit of a long winded answer here but what is my current depth chart on offense and defense right now and this is from Fort Worth Kane all right so here's my best crack at it this just coming out of spring they take this with a grain of salt this is just my opinion on the matter this is not blessed this is not certainly not set in stone I think anything that we say now is subject to change based on how summer goes based on how Camp performance goes so this is not set in stone in any respect I would a offensive depth chart starter obviously is Cam Ward a quarterback behind him is a battle between ree pen Barger and Emery Williams I would side with Reese on that one but that's definitely an open battle judge sliding in comfortably behind those guys he's probably gonna red shirt this year running back clear number one Damien Martinez number two you're talking about Chris Johnson and Elijah Lofton getting the bul of carries in Camp you know I'm excited to see what both of those guys can bring Elijah lton obviously can play other positions was a tight end for the majority the beginning of Camp Chris Johnson Speed element probably more of a change of pace if you're talking about traditional backup back I would say AJ Allen who missed spring is gonna make his claim for that backup role to Damen Martinez he has experience he's been productive I don't think he's ever had a yards per carry less than five at the college level so he's he's been good um the other name to watch there Jordan Lyall just got on campus we talked about him big body bigger than people thought 200 pounds plus very pro or college ready from what he did at St Thomas aquinus on that their state championship run he's played national competition he's got a well-rounded game I can see him playing early similar to Mark Fletcher and then of course when Mark Fletcher's healthy put him right there at the top of that dep chart next to Damen Martinez so that's how running back shakes out wide receiver I think you're looking at four guys um jacobe George rreo in the slot Isaiah Horton and Sam uh Sam Brown the transfer from Houston those four are the top guys everybody else slides in behind them a lot of young Talent JoJo Trader Nik car flashed a lot in Spring Robbie Washington Riv Joseph also had some explosive plays um Shamar Kirk even had some production some people thought he might leave but he had some very productive spring and showed a lot in terms of in game situations you know game simulations I should say uh so watch those guys but I'll say the top four at that position is solid right now tight end Elijah Royal number one Riley Williams number two cam M cormack who missed part of spring probably more of your blocking situational kind of guy can't receive like the other two Elijah lton multi-purpose guy you'll see him fit in those are the names at tight end offensive line this is going to be subject to a battle so I'd say left tackle jayen Rivers for now 100% although if a Mark cbell or someone like that emerges you could see River slide to left guard I think that's less likely because I think the belief is that Rivers is an allconference tackle believe he was third team last year they think he'd be a first team kind of guy at left tackle based on his trajectory and how improved he was in Spring Jaylen Rivers at left tackle um behind him well let's just go through this five left guard is going to be the real battle that's going to be is it going to be a Samson okola is it gonna be Mike Matt McCoy both of those guys can also play right tackle is it gonna be one of rivers or maoa sliding in if a guy like Marquel Bell emerges a tackle we'll see but I'd say that left guard is the real one to Circle Center Zach Carpenter is a starter Right Guard ands Cooper's a starter right tackle Francis maoa is a starter unless the situation we talked about where you get a marel bell someone like that a right tackle Matt McCoy has a great camp or Samson okola has a great camp and you move maoa inside some people think his best pro position left guard so that's the offensive line starting the next five and I won't get into positions I'm just GNA name people it would be you know whoever's not starting out of okola and McCoy Marquel Bell Tommy Kinsler who's been exclusively at tackle Ryan Rodriguez is your backup center um I I think that covers it with five as far as the next line of offensive linemen and then you get freshman uh and Walk-Ons after that so that's how the offensive line position looks and that's really your offense defense this is a long-winded question but allows everybody to get their questions in um defensive n your top four no surprise Ruben Bane AE mesidor Elijah Alon the Marshall transfer and Tennessee transfer uh Baron Tyler Baron you could also move Bane and mesidor inside on passing downs but those are your ends I think they're very solid the fifth guy up would be probably Malik Bryant as your jack linebacker had a really really good spring Maris Lightfoot cole mccy really talented young guys they have flashes they're probably nexted up as the young guys but I'll say Malik Bryant is probably next in line to play beyond the big four at end which is one of your best positions tackle you know CJ Clark from NC State Marley cook they were starters from most the camp you lose Jared Harris hunt you replace him with Simeon Barrow that's been his whole thing I'm sure we'll get questions on that I think he'll be back we already we already have that question from De breze so yeah so you know put put I think bar will be back and you put him in that mix then the the Beyond him is gonna be the real interesting battle is it gonna be a Josh Horton who's been injured emerging is it gonna be Anthony moden or sorry Amad moden who's been up and down but is very talented is he gonna emerge um is it gonna be a young guy Justin Scott Arondo blunt both the guys that Miss Camp um blunt because of a shoulder Scott because he didn't graduate yet are those guys going to find their way into that mix Anthony Campbell the Louisiana Monroe transfer super tall and big is he going to fine tune his game enough to contribute there he had flashes so D tackle I think the four spots really open the top three spots are pretty set assuming Barrow gets squared which I think he will Barrow uh Clark from meni State and Marley cook from Middle Tennessee all three transfers um linebacker very interesting I think maoa Francisco Mao is going to be the starter Wesley Bain had an outstanding spring I think he's people are circling him as a potential breakout candidate going to that laac level um based on the hype he generated in Spring and his performance you brought in Jaylen Alderman who's a starter on the Louisville defense that was better than yours you know 12 13 game starter so solid starter on a better defense than Miami's so you expect him to play obviously he's familiar with Coach Nicholson from Louis uh Louisville so he'll be like a third starter Miami rotates their starters a lot you saw with ch Bain last year but binth is really pushing and I think he's going to be an allconference kind of guy based on his current trajectory I put popo GE is the fourth guy in that mix with Cory flag moving on um safety that's a tricky position because you're talking about really Mee Powell is he the starting is he starting at safety or is he gonna play nickel let's put him at safety for now him and Jaden Harris who had a great spring next to him M pow of course the Washington transfer behind those two I would say zaquan Patterson and Mark Keith Williams who himself had a very good spring talented player been somewhat Mercurial but putting it more together out here lately and putting some of that Talent into place those would be my four at safety again if if you don't if you have M pow at nickel that position starts to thin out a little bit corner and nickel let's just put them all together and say that the nickel comes from this group I would say deari brown who from what I'm told finished spring in a major major way from what I saw myself you know looking like NFL type player based on what he finished spring with and his physical tools you also have darl Porter who had a very solid season last year in the ACC deani Hill Marshall transfer coming from chevis Jackson's you know coaching tree he was he coached him at Marshall he brings him over to Miami or let's say separate decisions but chevis Jackson came first and Don Hill followed giz also familiar with deani Hill recruited him so long I already looked fast since he got a camp put him in the mix Jadis Richard Pete mentioned him a lot in some of his spring reports I saw the same big athletic guy Vanderbilt transfer played a little bit last year started against Florida state did a nice job in that game he'll be in the mix as well at corner and then you got freshman really behind those guys Robert Stafford is probably the next up as far as a a player that's already here he would have played probably earlier last year but got sick in the middle of the season so that's a mouth I've been talking for a while Pete hey you almost you almost I don't know you were coughing over there it was I like sweat I got saliva dripping I mean whatever I hope that answer the question we have a bunch of questions here we do have uh before we get to a couple questions our boy Armando checking in and he he says does your shirt say croa on it so give your croa yeah yeah my boy John Andrade is ladas those of you who went to school out west or you know are familiar with the brand um great I saw they're opening a spot in uh in Dand there's open spot in dayand the best girl get us in town all it's disputed um you know versas who uh ALS so have great friends there uh it's a battle there and I'm sure others would take the take L clim to the title but uh you know we're representing isak Canadas here um I love their lechon they're probably the best in town in that respect for sure my opinion uh although I don't really eat meat anymore so I'm out the game but it still representing the sh they gotta get some chickp cettas uh to get back in the game with the Enriquez family all right so D we'll get into this question uh I mentioned it already but dbes says hey fellas is Barrow back yeah I mean my understanding is that he will be a cane I mean he is a cane you know this situation will will be resolved and everybody will move forward and you know chalk it up to just you know the relationship building that is somewhat expedited during the portal process um in recruiting these things happen but it's happen it happens during the course of a long relationship so people often don't even hear about what happens and by the time the kids on campus a lot of that's been sorted out sometimes it's not that's why you have the portal right um but I think with him as I understand the situation is good right now and and he will be a cane and all systems go we I mentioned him in the depth chart he's firmly in that defensive tackle rotation so that's what I understand as of my last conversation I'll get an update probably today or tomorrow although by then it might be a move point but my understanding as of my last conversation yesterday was Kane Brandon asks how do you feel about our chances with Jamie French and DJ picket you know DJ picket I feel good I think we have a good season we'll get DJ picket obviously LSU is making a strong bid with Cory Raymond um I would bet on Miami there just long term because of the ties because of the need Miami has at quarterback and you know it's very possible that Miami has a better season than LSU you know LSU is dealing with a lot of turnover themselves um they had a bad defense last year they just lost their highman of the two receivers so you know we'll see how that situation goes obviously you know Brian Kelly's a very good coach a proven coach but that'll be situation to monitor I think Miami will ultimately get DJ picket if they deliver on their promises on the field they need that first round premium Corner DJ picket recruited as a corner 65 runs 105 in the 100 meters probably a 43 type kid you know unique unique athlete I like Miami there if Miami takes care of business Jamie French just a lot of receivers in the mix for Miami you know Miami's recruiting French they like him it's a very deep room but I don't think with Jamie French you know regardless of the rating I don't see him he's not like a Jeremiah Smith last year where he was you know Jeremiah Smith was here and then these other names were here I think he's more in the group with a lot of other good players that Miami's in the mix with he's one of them but you know I they he they have a chance but I'm not sure you know it's it's not a Jeremiah Smith situation last year where um one player is so far ahead of the others he's in a group group of players in Miami is recruiting Miami likes and Miami's trying to get I don't think he's any closer to Miami or further than Miami than anybody else and I don't think this me talking my personal opinion is that I don't see him above the the rest of the group like a Dallas Wilson or a Vernal Brown you know as far as receiver Talent I'm GNA be out there in uh in Tampa this weekend Le has the plan so I'll be getting look at all these guys in a very competitive setting and we'll bring you the late this we'll have interviews we'll have clips and I'll be able to kind of share some opinions and observations from the seven on seven national championships up there in Tampa I'm sure I'll see Jamie French and that whole crew from South Florida Express plus the raw crew Dallas Wilson Cortez Mills you know a lot of talent up there and we'll break it all down Kane's cats heat 305 says who's visiting this week and who you're expecting to be the next commitment um the visit list you know I got to get an update one um I pull up the latest the latest notes I have on the visit list um you as far as the next commitment and I'm not trying to plug something else but I'm going to get an update on that and I'll provide the latest that I can for Kane's connection members uh on my call tomorrow which is going to be non-public a little more free flowing in that respect a little you know could share a little more in a private setting and I'll have the absolute latest on on that kind of information tomorrow I'm just trying to be honest with you guys as far as guys that I think Miami has momentum with you know Chris Ewald um he has a com he has a commitment date in a few weeks I like Miami Over Georgia there although there's still time um you know a Bryce fitgerald uh Amari Wallace these are guys that Miami has momentum with um I would say those are some names just to keep an eye on but uh I will have the I will ask this exact question to my sources in preparation for tomorrow K's connection call if you're not a Kane's connection member sign up for Miami's official and I Collective promo code CIS 20% off first month and you get access to this non-public Insider call where I just you know I get the information fresh off the rack and I give it to you guys as I get it but based on everything I've gathered to this point you know Ewald Fitzgerald Wallace those would be names I'm watching from a commitment standpoint Zion Grady maybe um let me think those are some names I'd keep an eye on question here from shod Miami missed out on King Mack and Conrad hussy because Miami's evaluations weren't focused on them but they are good players why is Miami so slow on the low-key evaluations like these two you know I was not a fan of a die as a college coach I you know I think he was very he's very good at his quarterback coach he's in the pros right for a reason but I think when you talk about the whole College package of evaluating recruiting I didn't think he was that good for that he wasn't a fit for that he's much more suited for the pros where you just teach um so put a little bit of blame on him to be real um in my opinion with those two guys King Mack and Conrad hussy I had them you know I had a list in my personal list of guys that I thought going into their senior seasons were underrated those guys were three stars at the time when I made the list they ended up being four stars because 247 I think picked up on them during the process um so I was a fan from the beginning I also D'Angelo Pon on that list who went to James Madison and since transferred to Indiana and was a a guy by the Hurricanes I think with all three of those guys the reason I liked them and placed them on my list is because you need speed in the secondary you know I think you can either run or you can't and sometimes people get nitpicky with defensive backs in high school and then when they get to College they say well our secondary can't run well maybe you missed out on some fast guys because they didn't XYZ perfectly in high school and you didn't recruit them even though you knew you knew they were fast now they're fully developed college players they're going pro because they're fast and they got the other stuff and you were a little too nitpicky in high school and you missed them and now your secondary can't run so to me my person the reason I had those guys on my list going into their senior years is because King mack one of the fastest players in the country especially in the 400 but also the 100 and 200 Conrad hussy was a sub 100 meter guy a sub 10 sub 11 sorry 100 meter guy um and D'Angelo Pon was like a 105 kind of guy 106 he flew so all those guys had speed then you watch him on film and they could play maybe there was a little nitpicking you could do here or there but it's not like they were just track guys playing football they had football ability plus they were five they 510 plus they weren't 5'8 so that's why I liked them um why we didn't like him I think we just we're a little too nitpicky on things and then we got on him later King Macky got on as a transfer conr hust got in later in the process D'Angelo pans as a transfer um once they showed they could play football and do all those things so to me I think we need to be a little more proactive on the speed the guys that we know can run be on them first Xavier Lucas is another one who went to Wisconsin this guy's a big big Corner had great senior film for American Heritage where he transferred um ended up running in the 10 sixes almost I think 105 even um at like 190 pounds so and you know I think he's like six foot 5'11 Plus so those guys shouldn't be going to Wisconsin identify the guys who can run early you have track times it's no secret to anybody you have 40 yards at the under armoured camps and then if they have the requisite height and if they have enough football ability bet on your ability as a coach to develop the rest of the stuff don't nitpick who they are as high school football players if they have enough of the non-negotiables so that's my that's my Spiel the U 83878 99101 oh I guess that's championship years wow um says can't wait to see Lightfoot Cole and pick it yeah me neither Lightfoot and Cole had really really good Springs a lot of big flashes with those guys you know you see jayen wayne guys like that on the way out I think we lost another we lost the Collins akian pong before spring um you saw the defense Cyrus Moss you know you lost you saw some defensive ends leaving that were highly Ted [ __ ] Le Kelly another one right which it's not good you don't want to see High T guys leave but at Big programs like George's had a lot of turnover lately when you're recruting a steady stream of blue chippers at a certain position there is going to be some attrition and the key is you got to keep recruiting them and not miss on everybody you know have guys that are pushing guys out and I think Cole M and Lightfoot they played a lot Lightfoot had a really good spring game he was made available to reporters after the spring game which is telling Cole mcconathy started the spring game so both those guys did really well excited to see Booker pick it one of those guys that had an extremely productive High School career as a pass rusher some folks thought he was too skinny he went to the Under Armour game went to the Polynesian Bowl dominated both was a little more wiry strong than I think people expected which is why he rose in the rankings so high D we haven't said this enough today but like this video subscribe to the channel appreciate everyone's support is always up over 780 now so keep keep the likes coming see the keep the subscribes coming we appreciate everyone's support question here from Green Tree allamerican I know the contract is up in 20 26 but is Miami happy with the relationship with Adidas D I I'm sure you'll have something to say here but what I'll say is like definitely the relationship with Adidas in terms of Miami's perspective is in a good place compared to what it was at the end of Nike it's not like at the end of Nike you know I knew people who were working in that equipment room and Nike just was sending the absolute minimum right of of of stuff that had Adidas has treated Miami well now can people nitpick about designs and things like that everyone's always going to have a preference I'm sure there will be some sort of negotiations that go on could they move to Nike of course anything's possible but like in terms of relationship and how they've treated the teams d i I don't think you've heard anything different than me but we were hearing horror stories near the last year year and a half there with Nike yeah um I everything Pete said I I'll be honest this not something I pay a lot of attention to I've heard some rumors certain things um which I don't want to share because I don't want to put words in people's mouths um that shouldn't be shared but this is something that's being looked at um constantly like any other business relationship um you know I we New Balance so I'm too old to have really an opinion on this kind of stuff you know at least you're not on the hocas yet right uh so uh you know I I don't have a personal opinion on it but I know it's being looked at as all business relationships are constantly um so we'll see ulysis Perez our boy here had a question um want shout him out always appreciate your support of the show uh he wants to know you know Miami's an early three three and a half Point favorite or Florida like or dislike you never want to be a road favorite against the Rival right that's like from betting 101 Road favorite rival you want to get Road dog or home dogs against the Rival especially when they have a good quarterback like Florida it does they really might have two because lagway is very talented and they have enough they added Elijah Basher from Arizona state which I think solidified their receiving core in a way that was needed um because they were a little light in my opinion after Wilson they now have legitimate number two with proven production so I think they're going to be a good offense and I think they're a dangerous team in a pure betting world I would bet on you know if meaning if I didn't know what I know about Miami's program I would always just on a superficial level like that road um dog or sorry that home dog that has a lot to prove opening day a lot of intangible elements supporting Florida but with all that said and we've done podcast breaking it down Pete I know you talked to Scouts Miami is a better team Miami has better players across the board Miami's weaknesses in many respects match sorry Miami's strengths match Florida's weaknesses meaning Florida can't block anybody or they couldn't last year Miami's got one of the best pass rushes if not the best in the country um you know Florida's defense can't stop anybody Miami's offense is a strength of their team so if you look at that aspect of it I like Miami I understand why they're the favorite it's the intangible things that give me Paw with Florida more so than the players on the field although I have a lot of respect for Grant Merz I think he's underrated by Ces fans um and I think they have some good skill position Talent as well Kane's cats heat 305 and again thank you lissy's closure investigative Agency for the support Kane's cats heat 305 asking about names you're hearing Miami's after in the baseball transfer portal and he also had a couple other baseball questions and I know you'll be doing a show this afternoon with jav Salah so you know if you're looking for in-depth stuff there on the baseball side everyone this evening should have a new episode out tonight yeah and look but we got the show with Javi Salis for Kane's Baseball fans also canes or just read and laugh it is the busiest most active funniest craziest uh most upto-date most inside info uh of any board community on the planet plus it's free sign up today um anyway so on that question though from AES insight.com member here our boy uh Eric the this is one thing with the portal we'll talk about this more with the show with Javi on YouTube later today it's one of those things where I I I'll say the least amount of specifics even though I might have more knowledge of it than maybe even even football in some respects with this particular situation we are being very very aggressive in the baseball transfer portal the process that's being taken is meticulous it is detailed if folks Kane's baseball fans and I like G's faceball fans are going to be upset about the results so we're season 70 years almost so you know what do you expect um but as far as this particular part of the process Miami is really on The Cutting Edge and we'll see the results you know I think Bobby Marsh who to me is an upgrade over Costello easily upgrade over Costello um in the Outfield really an upgrade over any of our outfielders at least offensively um that's just like the of the iceberg to what Miami is working on in the portal uh we'll have the scouting reports on everybody Miami the lands in the portal we won't talk about potential names just for competitive reasons but we will give you the absolute latest on the kids Miami lands and big picture Miami is working extremely hard and extremely smart in the portal I think fans are going to like the results from a team that really obviously needs to get remade because nobody wants anything close to the season we just saw question here from Assad Hussein how does the State of Florida allowing high school recruits to benefit from nil affect the schools if you're just joining us now we spoke about this at the beginning of the show for a few minutes and we kind of broke it down in depth but D I don't know if you want to give a quick you know quick kind of breakdown there I think it only helps because less restrictions less bureaucracy you know the collectives can be involved here to what extent I don't know but look Florida State's Collective had players tweeting about leaving the school because they weren't getting paid earlier this year with Patrick pton um and a couple other guys farmer you saw that on Twitter Florida's getting sued because they didn't pay kids um Miami's Collective has none of these problems so anything that gives more flexibility to collectives College collectives is going to benefit Miami because we have the best Collective plus we have support from people like you and if you're not supporting kesc connection.com promo Cod CIS 20% off your first month private Zoom tomorrow where you're going to get the absolute latest non-public information from The Source fresh fresh off a conversation with sources so you know no much to say besides anything that helps collectives I think helps Miami because we have the best Collective question here from Florida profit who are the players that are ready to contribute this year that didn't play a lot last year off the top of my head Chris Johnson at running back you know we saw a couple flashes of it last year but I think he needed to put that weight on and obviously as a big opportunity could be a real nice change Pace um and then I don't know I'm trying to think of someone on the defensive side of the ball I don't want to say Jaden Harris wasn't ready last year because he did play and and again showed some flashes but obviously with the guys in front of him wasn't going to be the main guy once cam came back but I think he's someone who's ready to contribute that didn't have a huge huge role last season yeah Jaden Harris was going to be my pick on defense uh I think he's going to be a solid starter in the secondary switching to the offensive side of the ball Isaiah Horton Z Horton um really really good spring he's remade his body he's very tall he's very big now strong and he's very athletic so that's a good combo he's catching the ball better um he can run after the catch more than you'd expect for a bigger guy you know taller guy like that um but he can also really get down the field made a lot of downfield plays this spring I mean you saw against Texas A&M you saw a lot more of what you saw against Texas A&M in the spring with Ward as a trigger man so as also they Horton went to Houston I Believe to work with Ward so even with Sam Brown coming into the picture I think there'll be more than enough targets for Z Horton I think he's going to be a big guy to watch um Chris Johnson is a guy I'm a fan of Pete I think he's gonna have even though he's more a specialist role let's say to start not your every down back because of the size I think he's gonna break so many long runs that his role will increase as the season goes my opinion um also defensive line wise you know okola Matthew McCoy one of those guys if not both are going to get an increased role Matthew McCoy sneaky played a lot last year people didn't notice because he was wearing the number 81 as a tight end but that was him and if you go look at his snap count he played a lot last year I expect that to go up question here from Twitter will Miami ever schedule FIU again for some payback yeah I mean Chris the ball there's two paybacks right obviously lose Manny Diaz loses to FIU low point of Miami sports um also Chris the ball was fired by FIU despite leading FIU to their greatest Heights as a program that have not been replicated since so that was Pak Garcia that was you know former ad FIU who I think is kind of out of the game I think people realize that he was you know he made the wrong decision there and was kind of you know off the reservation with some of the decisions he made later on that tenure including getting rid of crystal ball so I don't know if that there still don't still have that tension there I don't know what is P Garcia doing these days look it up I'm curious um anyways so that beef has gone but I'm sure Chris Ball still has anger about that whole situation so maybe be a double payback you know I don't know um some people say it doesn't benefit you to play these smaller schools because you only have something to lose and they have everything to gain but that's a good competitive game and it's fun for the fans so if you're Miami and you're running the way you should be that should be a good chance to play a motivated opponent that you blow out that's as it should be with some fans in the in the stance nothing on his uh on his Wikipedia updated currently for Pete Garcia so yeah it's not surprised me I mean that's a again you can chriso criticized Chris Ball for a lot of things certainly you know this show is not immune to that he was the best coach FIU ever had FIU had the most success under him than they ever did as far as winning bows conference championships going from where they started to where they finished and his firing was bizarre at the time and uh I think recent events have shown that you know the grass isn't always greener and that's why I think Garcia's wikip has page hasn't been updated yet because uh didn't make some very good decisions at the end I think he also hired Isaiah Thomas which ended up being some some major Scandal um you know I'm not an FIU Alum but that one was a while the Isaiah one was a while ago but yeah either way I don't I don't think FIU Athletics uh is is covering itself in glory lately aside from beating Manny Diaz which is why Manny Diaz is no longer the coach of the Miami Hurricanes 30 rack shotties asked this question a couple times why don't we recruit Bel Glade anymore you know I'm not an expert on that part of the of the state folks in the comments can chime in from what I understand there's been some demographic shifts just because of the differences in the uh the local Industries um some of them aren't as strong as they have been in the past so a lot of people are moving to more like Western Palm Beach as I understand um so I think there's just been some demographic shifts less players because there's less people um you know someone in the comments who's more familiar with the are area can clarify but that's what I believe because I mean yeah we're not recruiting Bel Glade but it's not like there's a ton of Bel Glade Players missed missed out on a ton of kids from over there right now you know the last 5 10 years so really sense yeah the celvin Benjamin years tavius um the line back that went to the Chargers I think went to akan um brown jaavi brown yeah as since those guys I don't think there's been a ton from that area cvon LeBlanc was from that area right yeah he was he was he's been in the pros for a bit but I think it's just kind of died down just because of natural demographic shifts due to Industry shifts and you know people leaving I think that's right but I don't I'm not you know folks in the comments let us know um who are more familiar with that area guys again remember to like this video And subscribe to to the channel we're 40 plus minutes strong here if you guys have any other questions to get in want to make sure I I uh haven't missed anything we got Trill Kane 31 appreciate you thank you for the kind words we got a question here from always pressure on uh on the safety board I want to get into let me pull it up yeah she got a couple recruiting questions up here that we should get to I also see Scott so P get Scott right after so uh what do the safety board look like Bryce f Columbus we talked about him a ton on the show I'm going to see him now here as we go up to Tampa he's interesting because extremely productive as a safety for Columbus from an interception standpoint really his his double digit int numbers used to go back to Camp kitchens as far as guys that have been that productive with the ball in the air locally obviously Camp kitchens translated that to college now was in the NFL three andone so I think with Bryce gereral that his range at safety he's got good size his measurables at the combine setting I'm told were off the chart so you feel very good about him as a safety the only question is is he a safety does he want to be a safety is he gonna be does he want to play a receiver I know he's made plays at receiver um a little bit in high school but certainly in the seven on seven circuit is he I mean even though he didn't have a great 100 meter time I'm told he ran in the four fours at the camps soes is he a corner i' put him at safety because of the ball Hawk ability he will have to be a little more physical you know sometimes with these super athletic guys you got to kind of push him to be a little more physical we've seen it we've seen him develop I know Dion Bush different player than Bryce stgerald but a Columbus guy there was a question of whether he was really a safety or a corner um I know I thought he might be a corner based on some of the stuff he did at the cornerback position in Camp PR sure Bama wanted him Sabin wanted him at corner fight and Auburn too they were both looking at to play him a corner yeah so you know we were wrong on that the guy still playing safety got interception in the NFC Championship right or the AFC Championship right so um we'll see different players Bryce and Dion it just brings in my head because of the Columbus connection and the fact that there is a question of where he fits but you put him at the top of the safety board Amore Wallace uh from Central is a guy who may not have the phys he's different than Bryce in that he he may not have the physical dimensions but you know his role he'll be a nickel slash a a nickel slash safety maybe like a Brandon Merryweather type very physical good instincts you know will play Above his weight from a physicality standpoint um can cover a little bit too nickel safety hybrid I think that is really his bread and butter so those are two names that stand out at the safety position I think pick is more likely to be a corner um you know some other safeties in the mix I know I am forgetting some folks um I'll have to dig but those are the two names I hear most frequently at safety is a certainly from a local standpoint a Bryce Fitzgerald oh Hilton stubs Hilton Drake stubs um he is somebody who plays for team raw I'm goingon to see him this weekend I know Miami loves him big ball Hawking safety slash he's big like a linebacker he's really a safety Miami loves him so I'll get him I'll get I'll get some eyes on him this weekend and I'll we'll talk to him and see what his Miami interest is but I know Miami likes him a lot Scott's question was I know you just talked about it but what's your percentage of Francis at right tackle and Samson McCoy at left guard or Francis a left guard and one of the three at right tackle you know what so it's a very interesting question a lot of people agree with you Scott that Francis maoa left guard is his home that's his Pro Bowl All Pro home so why not expedite that I will say so Francis V didn't play spring because he was hurt he'll be fine for Camp the most impressive looking line I saw in in spring from a physical standpoint just with my eyeballs you had Mark kellbell at left tackle Rivers at guard Carpenter at Center Cooper at the at the Right Guard and then um McCoy was at right tackle in that scenario let's say you know you keep Rivers at left guard left tackle Marquel Bell's now at right tackle and you put Francis at guard that's even more impressive that's probably just from a size standpoint I don't think you could do better than marel Bell whatever side let's say let's say let's say left to right Rivers maoa carpent who's a big Center Cooper who's huge Marquel Bell who's a mcken size that is an extremely impressive lineup we've never seen it obviously because maoa has never played with bell they you know Bell got here in Spring maoa was out for spring but man if if if you're playing fantasy football and look marbal he was very clear he goes look these especially with rivers because Rivers is the one that everyone wants to move he said you know this guy's proven to be a good left tackle he's getting better I'm not trying to move these guys around too much if they're proving that they can be the best guy at a certain position but if we're playing fantasy football I kind of like that one Rivers maoa Carpenter Cooper Bell Bel so has trust to earn it was very raw you know so everybody gets excited with the flashes but offensive line is not a flash position if you're not consistent you can get your quarterback killed you could kill a drive so Bell needs to get more consistent he just got here um but he showed a lot in Spring I think being more than at least I expected from a Readiness standpoint he did get snaps with the first team so his body looks good he doesn't need to lose weight or gain weight in a major way he'll have a good summer if he works hard has a good summer keeps his progress going listens to what Mir Ball's teaching him proves he can be trustworthy with the calls and everything else maybe it's midseason maybe it's not the first game against Florida but man if you can get Marquel Bella one of those tackle positions that is how I think you get one of these guys moved inside Kane's cats he 305 wants to know how can Miami do a better job at Landing Doo's players uh daso so let's see they got Camp kitchens right so Camp kitch is the best that he's had he has not had always DJ you got DJ Ivy back in the day too an NFL guy you know deaso hasn't always had what he has this year he's had great teams but this team is like another level um from what he's had Wesley Bain's another deaso guy sure there's more if I pick through the roster Gilbert what he has now is another level of player that he's had top to bottom I mean he's got five stars on the bench for 20 for the 26 class so I'm going to be around all these guys this weekend I will get the answer to this question but I think Miami is doing very well with some of these guys um they're recruiting them hard you know just thinking of guys that daso has that are top of the board you know Dallas Wilson stubs um Bryce fitgerald you know these are guys Miami really likes that he has Amari Wallace is there as well Miami likes I'm forgetting guys but you know Cortez Mills um I think his training probably more towards Clemson had had had a you know didn't have the greatest spring as far as football he did have a very good off season you know in seven on sevens in camps so Clemson knows what they're doing at receiver they're honing in on him I I hear more about Josh Moore who's not a daso guy um but I hear a lot about him he'll be visiting this weekend um but ter the guys daso has this we talking about by the way for those who don't know they hear daso they're like what are you talking about Jose deaso is the GM of the raw s on seven program which is probably the best in the country right now he was previously at with Immortals which produced um that was Tyreek Stevenson yeah kitchens um uh Wesley binth there's been some name changes throughout this whole thing but those are all guys that have come through Jose's program kitchens binth um and others he had Julian say last year who went to Ohio State uh Sam Howell believe it or not was was one of his guys back in the day so long way of saying this year his team team raw you've seen me wear the team raw shirt if you watch the podcast we've had him on the show um is the best in the country I'll see all those guys this weekend at Tampa as they try to prove that they're the best seven on seven program in the country competing against SF uh South Florida Express Jamie French reell Brown and some other top programs question here that you we kind of spoke about believe it was yesterday D shod says some coaches have an ability to adjust schemes to the Personnel that's handed to them G did a good job of that last year do you think Dawson can make an adjustment for cam Ward or do you think Mario's ground and pound mentality will clash with that adjustment so I talked about this last show you know I think sometimes the perception based on some things Mario says based on his background doesn't jive with the reality what I mean is rushing play percentage is the percentage of rushing plays that your team runs compared to pass plays right you're the running or passing so what's the percentage like in that stat M was 88th in the nation 88th out of30 teams so they were in terms of like being a run-heavy team they were 88th meaning they were low nationally in terms of how often they ran they passed more than they ran with TVD so I don't think Mario's gonna trust cam Ward less than TVD especially last season would you all with TVD and some of the issues he had so I think they'll trust cam Ward more now you still have a great running back you have a great offensive line that are all 320 plus and you had Damen Martinez who's a monster and you got good recruits behind him we've talked about that dep chart position a little earlier in the show so you still want to run I think balanced offense means when they expect you to pass you can run when they expect you to run you can pass when they expect you to pass you can still pass pass when they T you to run you can still run that's a balanced offense you could do whatever you want to do because you're Personnel balance doesn't mean you run a 50 you throw at 50% you know so I think we'll probably still lean more to the pass as we have maybe even more so because of Cam Ward but if team start saying cam Ward We're Not Gonna Let You Bomb It Away to Isaiah Horton and jacobe George Sam Brown because you've been killing us deep we're gonna put two safeties parked in the you know in Broward County and dare you to to run it then that's the time to run because you got a big offensive line you have guys like Damen Martinez so it'll depend on how teams play us but but Mario was not I mean he didn't call the plays but this was not a run heavy team last year if you trust the statistics which it is what it is and that was with TVD melting down in the middle of the Year shout out Timothy Wilson appreciate the love he said it like the video guys look at this the Kane's Insight The Authority for Kane's info we I don't know we may have a new slogan there my guy he's got the suit on he looks great I got to hire Timothy Wilson man he's we're out here t-shirts looking like bums this man's professional in the uh in the YouTube uh profile so hey Timothy appreciate you man we try to try our best try to give it to you daily and um you know work hard to get the info and give you balanced perspective you know we're not here for hot takes you know I'm at least I'm not you know I'm trying to give it to you my opinion then also hey this is why this is how they're seeing it this is how others are seeing it so you guys can come to your own opinion you guys know what you're talking about and what you're listening to so just try to give it to you like I get it and then when I got my opinion I put the disclaimer on top so that's how we're doing it appreciate you Timothy almost at an hour here d a few more questions uh that we have to answer this one's from Devon a do you guys expect Lofton to get running back snaps with the addition of Martinez I I still see him getting snaps out of the back field just because we understand he was such a weapon there during the Spring I just because they added Martinez now are they going to rely on him as much as they maybe would have especially if Fletcher Fletcher not ready for the for the beginning of the season um I I don't think they'll rely on him but a weapon's a weapon I think they're going to get him the ball as many different ways as they think he can hurt the opposing defense yeah look with Daman Martinez what I'd like to see from him he's going to the NFL right if he stays healthy so he's already proven he can carry the load because he did that at Oregon State so if I'm him and I'm and I think his interest align with Miami in this respect you don't necessarily want him carrying the ball that much I mean you want him carrying the ball a bunch but not to the point where he's wearing people he's wearing himself down I would try to run him less than he ran at Oregon State increase his yards per carry which is already 6.1 both years at Oregon State this guy was making a lot of runs I think he had 39 plus runs o or 39 runs over 10 plus yards was was one of the best marks top five Mark in the country for power five back so he's fresh for later in the game you got my you got to where I'm getting at let's get the efficiency up and then late in the game now you ride him especially protecting a lead now you're riding him and these guys are tired and he's fresh so Lofton plays into that because he himself is a 230 240 pound back so you know you lose one big guy or one big guy goes out one big guy comes in he has the versatility in the beginning of Spring he was a star of spring before he even started playing running back because he was running routes and making one-handed catches and doing it all as a tight end so his versatility plays into it he can run I think he will run Chris Johnson gives you a different flavor with his ability to change the score reward with one run the fastest probably the fastest running back in the country if someone in the comments correct me if I'm wrong but you know with the way Chris Johnson won the 100 meter and 200 meter in Florida with his times I can't imagine there's a faster back in the country um so you know he brings a different element you still have AJ Allen don't forget about him a proven back who can also take some carries I think look you had last year you had Parish get a lot of carries Cheney get a lot of carries uh Allen get a lot of carries and Fletcher get a lot of carries that's four Martinez is better than all those guys at least Fletcher in his current level of development so I think he might get a bigger share than those guys each individually got but you still want to get four backs out there working don't forget about Jordan L we did a whole podcast about him he's impressing guys with how he looks physically a comment here interesting comparison I I don't think I've seen this one uh the U 8387 89 says Lofton has good feet and hands like DJ Dallas we saw DJ as he filled into his body he was a lot bigger than people realize I mean when DJ came in he was playing some defense he was he was potentially going to be a nickel corner and he really filled out obviously was bigger than people thought coming in that's not a terrible comparison I love the comparison DJ Dallas who's still in the NFL very good pun returner um he was a receiver you mentioned he was they were looking at the question wasn't running back or receiver the question was defensive back or or receiver and he was a quarterback in high school so just a total football player big lower body like you mentioned he filled out not as big as what Lofton is we talking about 240 um but he I remember him against North Carolina as a freshman he caught a short pass and took it for like 70 60 yards um big big big catch and run then he became that Wildcat SL running back and and took from there so good comparison as a football player who's versatile I don't think we used DJ Dallas as a receiver enough and I would say if you're comparing them from what I've seen of both of them DJ Dallas had very good hands you see it as a pun returner Lofton I think has better routes like L is a real receiver he sets guys up he with with Dallas he was a quarterback so you were kind of converting him athletically to be a receiver he had good hands but it wasn't like Dallas came in like a Polish route Runner l often great program Bish Gorman he was running and catching passes for them already but he man he can run routs I saw him in Spring man he was routing up our starting defensive backs at times so I think he's more advanced from a receiving standpoint plus if you're talking about pass protection he's 240 and he's tough he's a very good blocker so if you do not if you have him the back field and he's not running a route he's going to be a really good pass protector for cam Ward Momo has asked this question question a couple times any updates on the new facilities I saw Dan rad talking about them in his interview with with Eric mlan the other day so obviously everyone's we get this question pretty much every week D but I don't want I don't know if you want to give your weekly Spiel on I mean look you saw Dan R was talking about it my personal opinion on the whole thing now look there's reasons why you give to a university is tax deductible I get it in terms of dollars to program success nil kesc connection.com promo code CIS 20% off first month access to The Insider chat nil is a separator when it comes to recruiting and everything else and recruiting is obviously the separator when it comes to Performance the facilities in a world where the NCAA was making all the money and the players couldn't and the schools were making all the money it made more sense as a slight competitive Advantage because you could recruit better with better facilities but in 2024 there is not a single player on the country that is going to take a worse nil deal because he likes the facilities better and maybe on the fringes but the big time guys you're not going to see that so listen mo mo mo says appreciate you y'all thank you apologize you don't have to apologize and we appreciate the participation the asking questions that's what we that's what we're here for man it's a community show especially on Wednesdays when we do this live appreciate your support mode you don't have to apologize for anything we like get into your question um you know I'm looking at the camera right here my thing my thing on it is just like Dan rad wouldn't be look everyone wants to know what the exact date they're breaking ground on it but you know how this stuff goes you're not talking about it publicly if there's some sort of real issue or delay with it so I I don't expect there to be you know a problem with it yeah I think they'll be fine on the facility side but to me again facility conversation is like a 2000s conversation that's like a 2000 to 2020 conversation 2020 on we're talking nil that's the name of the game if you want to support the program again tax deductible I get why people contribute to schools they might actually care about the university and the you know the cancer center you know my wife works in Psychology you know there might be reasons why you want to support the school separate from Athletics I get it or maybe you're interested in Olympic sports right if you want to support football basketball and now baseball who's makinging a very prominent nil run here nil kesc connection.com promo code CIS be part of that solution and we'll talk to all you guys on that front tomorrow when I do my Insider Zoom with the absolute latest information which flows very freely from folks on that end because obviously everybody's aligned that the nil program is a very important to the university in the Athletics program D we'll wrap it up with this one as we're at an hour now and our board sh's been bringing us some some heat today on the question side he says easy question even though it's it's a pretty loaded question but this easy question do you think Mario is a championship coach there are only two or three Championship caliber coaches that are still in the game the past 20 years is is Mario potentially one of them so look there's a lot of ways to answer this question there's been Nick Sabin and there's been a whole bunch of other coaches the past 20 years I think we're going into a complet different era of college football I so I think Mario is about to be about to put Miami in a position to win a lot of games and they're going to be in position to be in playoff games and of course if you're in the playoffs you're have a chance to win a championship right so I think the roster is getting to where it needs to be and they've got to go win some games but I think he's trending this thing in the direction that Miami is going to be competing for Champion I ship so is he a championship coach is he Nick Sabin I don't think he's Nick Sabin I don't think anyone would say there's a coach in college football right now that's that's Nick Savin but there have been other coaches is Ryan Day a championship coach D well I mean look I'll tell you some championship coaches Larry Coker uh Jean chisik um Les Miles Ed oon you know are any of those guys Bill Walsh well and Jimbo Fisher is not in the game right now but he was he a championship coach right so I mean look I think to answer your question Mario people forget this and I think this is downplayed too often when it comes to Mario Mario had Oregon in the top five at the end the season they finished in the top five with Justin Herbert winning their bowl 12- win team so that like if you're taking him at his highest point to now he's already in a very high place and you say well he had a qu back obviously look Justin Herbert hasn't won anything since he left Mario they just fired their coach and brought in Jim Harbaugh to try to win with Herbert so as great as he is it's not like automatic that he's gonna have his success um and he wasn't there before Mario got there either so the the the ceiling right now based on what we know at least the high point high water mark is top five can you get to that top one and I think I don't know till he's done it I think he's not going to do it with x's and o's we know that is he a Savin where SA Savin was an NFL defensive coordinator if who wanted to be he was NFL head coach didn't work out I don't know if that was too much for him we saw that with the dolphins he kind of ran but certainly his NFL quality de coordinator you know Maro is not going to be a coordinator for an NFL team from a schematic standpoint I don't think that's in his future so he's not going to be that guy it's going to come down to his ability to recruit and his ability to get to build a culture that is tough and phys physical and doesn't make mistakes we've seen a lot of mistakes with Miami this year but again you had a top five team that made a lot less mistakes at Oregon the key positions in my opinion for all these guys quarterback number two defensive line number one if you have a defensive line like Georgia had when Kirby smarts won his like Dabo Sweeney had when davo Sweeney won his like Jimbo fiser had when Jimbo fer won his like Nick sain has every year like Michigan has this year or had last had this past year you will have a chance to win a National Championship go through history defensive line is the consistent factor of national championship teams I talk about first rounders all-americans look at Miami Hurricanes they call it quarterback you but it was really Cortez Kennedy Warren Sapp you know Jerome Brown that's Miami truthfully and those are the guys that went on to play a long time in the pros the quarterbacks didn't so so defensive line in my opinion is what's going to Define every Championship coach Michigan last year they ran they threw what like nine times at they had a good quarterback first rounder but he didn't throw they had a strong running game strong physical low line and then defensive lines where their first rounders were Mason Graham Kenneth Grant two defensive tackles this year first rounders they produced first round edges in the past as well under Harbaugh so if Mario can turn the Justin Scots of the world the Armando blunts the ran Baines into first round talents that will give him an opportunity to be a championship coach so that's my Spiel on that very loaded question all right Kane's fans we appreciate everyone's support we've been on here for an hour plus if you're just catching us now near the end of it or you caught us in the middle remember the full replay of the live Q&A will be
