YES THANKS FOR SENDING THOSE IN . >> AND PEOPLE AT THE FAIR. THEY WERE HUNKERING DOWN EARLIER WHEN THATRILLIONOUND OF SEVERE WEATHER STARTED TO MOVE THROUGH. YOU'RE GETTING SOME VIDEO NOW. WE JUST GOT THIS IN THE LAST, UH, HALF HOUR OR SO. I THINK OUR LINDSAY BROWN TOOK SOME OF THIS VIDEO OUT HERE TO POLICE WERE DRIVING THROUGH. IT WAS JUST AFTER 4:00, AND THEY WERE MAKING SURE EVERYONE WAS SAFE OUT THERE, TELLING EVERYONE TO GO TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. THE VIDEO HERE FROM THE AGRICULTURE HORTICULTURE BUILDING, PEOPLE PACKED IN THERE, THE FAIR, AS WE'VE SAID, THEY ARE PREPARED. THEY HAVE SEVERE WEATHER SHELTERS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT THERE ARE GOING TO BE SO MANY PEOPLE OUT AT THE FAIR, THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A PLAN TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE ON A NIGHT JUST LIKE THIS. IMPORTANT. WE ALSO MENTIONED THE GOPHER GAME BEING DELAYED. THE UNIVERSITY OF SAINT THOMAS DELAYING THEIR FOOTBALL GAME TOO. AND IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THIS SEVERE WEATHER, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO WILL BE OUTSIDE. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE STATE FAIR AND ALL THESE SPORTING EVENTS. YEAH, AND WE'RE WAITING ON THE MOTLEY CRUE CONCERT AS WELL. >> THE TWIN CITIES NATATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ACTUALLY CALLS THE SHOTS WHEN IT COMES TO ALERTING THE OFFICIALS ABOUT SEVERE WEATHER THAT IS CLOSING IN ON US. THEY'RE URGING PEOPLE OUTSIDE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE PLAN. WE SAW SOME OF THAT IN ACTION. BRITTANY EHRMANN GOT AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE PROCESS, JOINS US NOW FROM HUNTINGTON BANK STADIUM IN MINNEAPOLIS. BRITTANY AND LIKE YOU BOTH MENTIONED, THE U OF M GOPHER FOOTBALL GAME. >> KICKOFF IS POSTPONED UNTIL 8:00 TONIGHT. AND WE TALKED TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. AND THEY TELL US THAT WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN, THEY ARE CALLING THE SHOTS BEHIND THE SCENES TO MAKE SURE IF YOU'RE OUT AT A FOOTBALL GAME OR AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR, THAT YOU'RE SAFE. SO WE GOT AN INSIDE LOOK ON THAT PROCESS. TAKE A LOOK. >> WE HAVE ALL OF OUR FRESHMEN HERE. IT'S GOING TO BE SO FUN. SO EXCITING FOR THEM. >> FIRST GAME I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW SHIRT FOR THE GAME TONIGHT. SO GOT TO GET SOME MORE GOPHER MAROON AND GOLD. >> ALL EYES WILL BE ON THE GOPHER FOOTBALL FIELD TONIGHT AND THE SKY. >> THE PLAN IS TO GO RIGHT NOW AND WE'LL PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER. >> AND SO WILL THE TWIN CITIES NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. >> MOST OF THE FORECAST MODELS ARE SHOWING SOME LINE OF STORMS. WHEN SEVERE WEATHER ROLLS IN. >> THESE SCREENS ARE FILLED WITH RADARS AND GRAPHS TO TRACK STORMS CAN BE VERY STRESSFUL. WHAT THE METEOROLOGISTS DO IN HERE HAS A BIG IMPACT ON LARGE OUTDOOR EVENTS LIKE FOOTBALL GAMES OR THE STATE FAIR. IT STARTS WITH A REQUEST FROM AN EVENT ORGANIZER FOR THEIR SUPPORT. IF A SEVERE STORM IS CLOSING IN, THE WEATHER EXPERTS MAKE A TIME SENSITIVE CALL TO A TEAM ON THE GROUND SOUNDING THE ALARM TO EVACUATE OR TAKE SHELTER. YOU JUST MAKE THAT DECISION AND YOU DO IT WITH YOUR BEST INTENTIONS IN MIND. >> AND WHAT YOU, WITH YOUR TRAINING THAT YOU'VE LEARNED. >> IN SOME CASES, LIKE AT THE STATE FAIR AND THE GOPHER FOOTBALL GAME, A METEOROLOGIST IS AT THE EVENT ON STANDBY, JUST IN. >> GET THAT COMMUNICATION FROM THE METEOROLOGIST ON SITE MONDAY AND TUESDAY. >> STORM HAS LEFT A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION AND SENT MINNESOTANS RUNNING FOR COVER AT THE STATE FAIR. BUT FOOTBALL FANS SAY THE RAIN WON'T DROWN OUT THEIR EXCITEMENT ON GAME DAY. >> TOTALLY USED TO IT. THAT'S WHY I'M NOT REALLY WORRIED ABOUT IT. I SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT AN UMBRELLA WITH JUST IN CASE, BUT I DIDN'T. >> IN SEVERE WEATHER DOESN'T STAND A CHANCE. NEVER >> NOT IN MINNESOTA. WE KNOW WHAT TO DO. WE'RE BUILT FOR THIS . >> PEOPLE ARE PREPARED WELL. WE ALSO KNOW THE SAINT THOMAS FOOTBALL GAME. KICKOFF IS ALSO POSTPONED TONIGHT UNTIL 8:00. NOW, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOES WANT YOU TO BE PREPARED AND HAVE A PLAN. IF YOU'RE OUT AT ONE OF THESE EVENTS AND THOSE DETAILS ARE NORMALLY ON THEIR WEBSITES FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER, OR IF THEY'RE SEVERE WEATHER, YOU CAN READ THERE WHAT TO DO IF YOU'RE IN THAT SITUATION. OR YOU CAN GO TO OUR WEBSITE, KSAT .COM. THE DETAILS ARE THERE AS WELL. IN SAINT PAUL, BRITTANY ERMAN FIVE EYEWITNESS NEWS. ALL RIGHT
