[Music] we're live at Beaver Stadium in State College Pennsylvania tucked in the nney valley between bald eagle M and tuss and it's going to be a c afternoon for this game between the Minnesota Golden goers and the NY Lions of pen state here come the NY [Applause] Lions the governor's Victory Bell at stake hi everybody Brad nestler with Kirk herb Street and Lee Corso set to bring you a relatively youthful rivalry between these two big 10 schools how do you see this one this really looks like a deadlock this could go to either team well in a close matchup like this I always like to look at the individuals Minnesota is going to be tested here defensively by this quarterback Lee I think they'll lose a close game because of their inability to match up in the secondary and the lack of pressure they'll put on the quarterback that's a nice pick a nice pick pen state has the better defense in this one and Kirk I wouldn't be thanks guysa lines up to kick this one off and we're just about set to get underway and he got all of this one great kick number 11 Fields it in the end zone spinning he should have stayed in the end zone there it looked like there was a little running room but the lane pass steps up in the pocket he's in trouble and it falls incomplete I think the pressure forced him to get rid of the ball there guys yeah great job here by the defense getting a good surge up front getting right into the quarterback's face number seven is back in the gun he steps UPS to throw outside and it's caugh and now he's got to at away frombody that tell seen a lot of and he missra number four looks ready to kick this one off kicks it off number 21 Fields it at the three with the spin that's a good job by the coverage team there staying in their lanes and not allowing the returner to they'll drop him for how about that defensive stop that's a great effort by the defensive line there anytime you can get into the back field and disrupt the timing of a run like this you're going to NY lions nice little run there by the half to get in for the score that guy was tooed to the end and he TS on the extra point so with less than two to go in the second quarter our score is 10 State 13 Minnesota nothing kicks It Off number 21 FS it at the seven to spin the off heads out onto the field their last series they to try andt ath down and they came up they'll go to work at the 21 yd line the goord come out in the Ace form he's looking STS up rifles it right side and they couldn't hook up on that one and he overw that one badly whoa the receiver's fast but he's not that fast second and 10 ball on their own 21 two tight end set he drops back across the middle complete and down he goes looks to have been shaken up a bit on that play ah rub some dirt on it kid get back in the game where you belong here's where the off stands compared to the rest of the nation they are struggling when they the seems toen when they're on there's a tackle and he's taken down three y gain by by the your offense to get more than they did there and second you got to make more of a concerted effort to get to the in that situation to stop the clock Bo you're absolutely right that was not a good play safe to say that's the case as he had zero one more play now we so they'll likely throw and we've reached second half just about set to get underway as the team's line up for the kick here's the kick down and the defense knew the pass was coming they line up in an eye they go with the option here they come and they couldn't hook up on that one and an outstanding play defensively yeah he timed it perfectly and managed to hand in there to deflect the ball away you'd expect him to punt here but it looks like they're not thinking that way and they turn the ball over shouldn't they have punted in that situation even though they're down right I think they should haveed they'll set up shot at the 43 yd line number 32 is the Deep back as they line up in the eye they'll throw on first down steps this when teams are having success with a particular player they feel confident about a play Chances in this case the defense was well prepared look for them to go to the air here L this one out to the right and it's caught and they got him for a l and they're going to have to the ball back after going for it on Fourth and long not much you can do there you got to go for it and give yourselves a chance High form here hand off on the counter and he's taken down just a yard there it's second down and nine to go ball on the 35 thr form here they'll give it off here and down he go at the 39 four field well they came up well short on third down you know guys it looks like they're trying to work some clock here in the fourth quarter another hard fought game between these two Rivals was this what you expected to see they talked about the Rivalry all week long and for good reason we saw the intensity down the field why these teams love to hate each other
