HALFTIME: Clayton Tune’s RUSHING Touchdown Fuels Lead For Arizona Cardinals OVER Indianapolis Colts

Johnny venerable bu Brock producer extraordinaire Damon dog Clayton tun tun time baby taking a 10 to seven lead following a rushing touchdown at Indianapolis the Cardinals start out slow show some signs of life before the end of the first half absolutely uh Lucas what's going on Bucky Productions Arjun how about Tommy Felix our guy sha Benjamin coach Stark in the chat as well what's going on Coach Jess and Jacob we appreciate everybody hanging out here uh yeah Marcus no socks for JB he's uh never gonna rock him in those loafy loafers unfortunately but look as long as the Sho stay on uh we're fine with it but yeah I I think that it was obviously an uneven performance like last week a slow start out of the gates not a whole lot going on offensively on either side of the uh football and then you've got um you know the defense really stepping up how about a fourth and fifth rounder making big plays to set up a short field for Clayton tune day three draft picks contributing as rookies what is this vo witchcraft for this franchise uh Xavier Thomas second consecutive preseason game with a sack we're going to talk about and then Robert Taylor deerson with I think the play of the game so far the step in front interception that really swayed the momentum for the Arizona Cardinals got them back in Striking Distance and of course you know Clayton tun say what you want about him I thought he looked hesitant early I thought he lacked a little self-awareness and then he got better as the game went on and was ripping some throws I I think we're gonna see Desmond Ritter here in the second half but if you're Clayton Tom ending it on a positive momentum look good moving out of the pocket um didn't turn the ball over that's key and something Desmond Ritter has been doing in practice and like I didn't sit here and say like oh he missed a throw badly right it there was an egregious Miss could he have been more accurate sure but I mean like if you're Clayton tune you probably take that for the first half yeah you would as much as you wanted to see him maybe dialed in to get the start this week prove himself show what uh we've been talking about on the show where you know I Ritter kind of based off resume were tune I think is based off you know where they stand with with his organization play in practice and play in last week's preseason game you wanted to see the decision making maybe kind of a little quicker in the first couple series for him but then I I think he was able to uh get it going there but obviously when you're when you're uh blessed by you know good field position a lot of quarterbacks look better I just feel like if you were to say hey Clayton tun you're our starter this week and you formulate a game plan that's not sacrificing him against the Cleveland Browns last year and you're like okay you're going to have James Conor and McBride and Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr I think you're going to have a better start to a game but I here's what I'll give Clayton to an immense credit for and I mentioned it on Friday's show Clayton Ton's been asked to kind of Juggle a bunch of different guys since his tenure here he was with the starters last off season now he's with the second team or is it the third team I thought he looked very comfortable throwing the ball to Zack Pascal and Chris Moore so again like I don't know if he locked up anything I think he's going to play next week again yeah but like I I don't know if the Cardinals would feel comfortable like surrendering Clayton tune to you know the waiver wire having him be suddenly available in a qbb needy you know NFL could could you see him potentially being practice squad eligible yeah it's it's obviously a roll of the dice right but I think that each organization has their own version of of Clayton tune I think that does play to your advantage like the only tape out there for tune in the regular season is is bad and and that plays to their advantage surprisingly so and then yeah you've got this preseason performance the new now two preseason performances in last year so you know and when you look at his stats I mean8 for 10 and I felt a little silly putting that out there on on social media you know 80% completion percentage but if you look at some of the throws I I know you wanted to maybe get rid of the ball a little bit earlier on some of the earlier series but you know 17 yard pass to bellia yeah that was good probably his best throw of the day y um where Desmond Ritter last week on tape couldn't hit pellia for you know five yards which he would have walked into the to the end zone for a touchdown on third down a nice play cat C pass and catch from Chris Moore and then Zach Pascal with a nice 10 yard catch so it wasn't like he was dinking and dunking like he had a nice yards per completion there and yards per attempt he had just under eight yards per attempt yeah he showed like he showed off his arm strength which deser just does not have and then I think the push back for the people who defend Ritter well his Mobility is the attribute that he has the trump card with and I don't know Clayton T looked pretty fast running in that touchdown at the end of the first half I do want to talk about the running back group in particular Trey Benson I thought really nice I don't want to call it a rebound game from last week but nine touches 43 yards 4.8 yards per clip and that's removing what I thought was maybe the play of the first half an egregious holding call on Christian Jones wiped out what would have been what a 152 yard run with a bunch of yards after contact for Trey Benson that was going to set the Cardinals up first and goal on the one uh um really impressive stuff I I think anybody who had hesitation on Trey Benson last week you saw the acceleration you saw good ability to run inside the tackle so I I think firmly in a position to be rb2 for this team you know with the in the Run game what is it 10 yards will give you an explosive run he should have had at least two explosive runs in the box score today but yeah it was nullified by in this case for Christian Jones what I thought was a a bad holding call I didn't see the uh it didn't show up as far as when they had him isolated on tape so it's unfortunate that it negated Trey Benson's near touchdown run for 20 yards but uh you know Benson absolutely I agree with the chat calling him explosive I think Aussie said that um you love it amade is saying his his acceleration is scary and I think yeah he he it seems like he gets the ball he gets the handoff and then he he's building speed as he gets the offensive line and that's what you want to see I thought he was going to break one of those early ones in the first quarter and again we saw him do that so well at Florida State anxious to see him take off here during the regular season Damon dog if we could let's get to some of these super chats you guys are so con drop a fans Christian Jones had four holding penalties me watching the all 22 tape yeah sounds about right I thought he was okay last last week I thought Isaiah Adams had another rough first half the second team offensive line like there's obviously a big drop off from the Cardinal starters to their backups yeah the rookies look like rookies right I think Isaiah Adams as I called for you know hoping for him to uh kind of prove some of the doubters wrong and and have a a bounceback game I don't know if we've necessarily seen that I think Adams was part of you know some of their struggles on the offensive line but Christian Jones I mean three penalties in in one series alone even though it's got the Phantom call in there but it's it's rough like when refs get used to throwing flags on you you know they start to maybe see things that they didn't you know they key in on you and Christian Jones the fifth rounder uh I'm sure he's hoping for a better performance potentially in the second half so your offensive lineman that you selected so far uh in this draft not so much but you know I think you uh if you're M OS for you can look to some day three picks that uh certainly put you in a good position in the end of the first half it's easier to be a defensive player to can kind of pick your spots whereas hey offensive lineman go out there and and perform an entire Drive Chaz 199 thank you so much tune Rune the offense but number 75 Jesus talking about Christian Jones yeah I mean he he played a lot of snaps at uh Texas he was a like a four or five year starter in the Big 12 so like he's got experience but he's a there's a reason he fell to the fifth round like there's a reason Isaiah Adam is a project coming out of Illinois I thought tip Ryman had a nice block we talked about that he also had a three yard catch let's throw a parade let's have a analytic parade I think Johnny when we were watching the game I think he was like why didn't he take that to the house who is this who does he this guy's nobody he's he's a contributor ill Dre friend of the program 199 rabbit is rabbit is the truth perfect segue illr we appreciate the Super Chat that's my rabbit right there I don't like that at all when you do that um the Arizona Cardinals I think are going to get early returns offensively obviously from Marv but I think the majority of this heavy lifting is going to come on the defensive side of the ball Max Melton played for the first time was a little bit Hit or Miss as you'd expect but how about rabbit Taylor I'm not going to crush him for the penalty by the way on team I don't care about that and then Xavier Thomas second consecutive week with a snap or excuse me a sack for the Arizona Cardinals defensively I mean how soon are both these two players going to Vive for time with the ones in your op I think immediately I think immediately you know uh big is is a package that's trendy in the NFL where you got three safeties out there and and the Cardinals didn't shy away from it last year um you know I think Garrett Jones is a big DB anyway so maybe he he could take away potential playing time but rabbit's showing the instincts he really is the The Tackle obviously I wish he probably wishes he could wrap up that led to a big run by the quarterback that led to the the touchdown in the first half but then you know he he trades his moped for a sheep dog his sheep dog van for a moped completely redeems himself sorry I butchered that but rabbit looked great like just the anticipation he jumped in front of the wide receiver uh where you know the Colts quarterback there uh who's who's playing back up to Ellinger uh Bean thought you know he was going to nail that throw and right at the sticks and rabbit jumped in front of him and set them up really nicely in the first half definitely not going to spend this entire postgame show talking about Buddha Baker uh Taylor demerson conspiracy theories on who's going to be starting wear in 25 but we do want to get to these super chats PR Mac $2 Xavier Thomas two games two sacks let's go I'm ready to see more again you're gonna have to as B mentioned you're gonna have to live with the mistakes of a young player but if you get the kind of explosiveness you see off the edge we got people who are in Indie texting us saying like he's by far the most explosive player not on the edge just defensively for the Cardinals and you know Ganon mentioned he jumps off screen yeah and and Baldi said the same thing he said Elite quickness off the edge and we saw like where he's going to struggle like if somebody's going to run right at XT yeah like sometimes really good pass rushers have that issue is sometimes how you can subdue them but like I think that what he brings especially if he's just a guy that's gonna get after the quarterback and they desperately need them like it's like XT made the big play right he was relentless he he beat his man it was a bad play by The Tackle but Thomas was able to take advantage of it and he's able to get the quarterback on the T Turf where Victor mcki he really hurt his team today by not being able to get the quarterback down like that that that touchdown Drive was set up by Victor D mcki unfortunately not being able to finish a sack Colts driving now as we begin the third uh quarter we're going to get to these super chats first Ethan saying rabbit is
