[Applause] glad to have you with us from Las crusis New Mexico and agie Memorial Stadium home in the New Mexico State Aggies and we have a showdown coming up in the land of enchantment we're really looking forward to this matchup you've got a team that's made its way into the top 25 now trying to pass an all important road test you make Mexico state will kick it off and will be underway from inside his own 15 looking for a crevice able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 and now we'll get a look at this offense for the first time today when your quarterback takes the field you want him to look just like this guy exuding confidence yeah the in fact he's the man nobody questions it everybody on this team knows they've got his back and he's the leader everybody in this stadium also knows the offense goes as this guy goes he has got to play well today quarterback wants to throw on second down gets it out quickly the defense wouldn't let him loose and even though it's in completion they lost yardage so already a challenge on this opening drive it's third and nine they'll go to the air and this is going to be incomplete on Third and here comes the punt team just got to wonder too guys if the crowd didn't impact the offense they playing on the road on the first third down of this football game incomplete the idea here I think just punt it away and see if you can regroup because this environment is awesome they'll put a stop to that return at about the 37 yd line so the New Mexico State agies offense has its first opportunity of the day here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching staffs this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play hit the afterburners kid the 20 and he takes it all the way they couldn't stop him touchdown New Mexico state and the pat makes it seven nothing this offense is so explosive they can change the scoreboard in a Flash you just saw that on that drive from inside the 15 chance for a good return just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 they'll get things started on this drive from the 24 Looking to go up top on first down going [Music] deep that was an eyelash away from being picked off and that is not the way to set the tone with a near pick on your opening drive on second down he's looking down field and the pressure was too much they get him at the 15 you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 he's looking downfield to throw this was one of the keys to the game could this quarterback could he extend plays and then make throws and scramble situations that time the defense was able to get to him and bring him down for a huge loss bringing it back it's Smith wide open and it's a FR R very little will make a crowd hold its breath like a pun return and he brought them to their feet on that one trying to find his man on first down the sweet feet by a little time really nice stop there from this senior leader line getting set on second down they'll Run play action on the move he fires incomplete and he threw that one up for grabon into traffic fortunate to get him back quite a bit of work to do on third down from the 23 and this D would love to force a field goal try he can't find anybody it'll be incomplete as a def defense does a really good job in coverage now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try between the uprights it's good and now the leads extended a little far after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to go from inside the 15 here comes the return and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next drive and now the offense will come onto the field again they'll run it from the gun getting that push a pick up of four out to the 26 solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six the give to the tail back and the ball's out and they're after it defense covering it up and not letting the offense get it back it's a turnover short Fields make successful offense is just what they want here the throw touchdown Aggie hold it in and just kept right on running to the Hallelujah land and with the extra point they now have a three possession lead at 17 that's number two on the day having a day I mean you know he's going to catch the football and you know he's going to make plays after he catches those are the kind of guys that you feature and you find them and they produce like this you keep finding they'll get this drive started from their own 26 lost to throw on first down off the play fake and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 offense gets set for second down 29 29 that's the end of the quarter New Mexico state has the lead they largely dominated this first quarter as indicated by the stats these guys are bringing serious heat they are like sharks swarming and just getting after the passer tried to move that pile forward he maybe gets two he's down at the 21 this is a third and W looking downfield and he needs a bunch pressure coming he's in a world of trouble and down he goes a cat Tropic loss on that play not much cooking on that drive and now they'll hope to flip the field with this punt three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out makes a move what a play on that return but will it stand there is a def field and you got to focus right the first thing you're looking at as a defensive linean the first thing you understand is the ball starts on Snap k i I have to line up see the ball when the ball moves I move I know it's simple but you still see guys jumping off sides all the time he's got great speed looking everywhere for room to run but really good coverage and he'll step out of bounds first down here for the offense he wants to throw fires to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there and the catching Rod into the end zone touchdown New Mexico State the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown from inside his own 15 let's see how far he can get he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found he stopped at the 23 offense set on first down used the play fake now to throw it's complete to the left he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one didn't make it any easier on themselves on first down now second along from the 21 he's looking to throw unloads to the fires and picked off didn't get a chance to show off those return skills but he gives his offense the ball at the 29 couldn't order better field position for this offense hit as he throws can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down looking downfield it's Hogan this QB has been so comfortable all day long obviously having a ton of got enough space he was working his way toward that goal line they'll stop him at the two after make play up top this offense has been running wild in the first half but wait they want more before they go to the locker room now moving to his right looking for anyone that's open and he'll be out of bounds just short of the goal live the manner they have business now and I really like the decision by the quarterback there and listen it's early in the Downs like Don't Force It don't don't make it turnover he tucks it get what you can get and then Live to play the next down I I like that execution by the throw to the end zone picked off well he started rolling to his right and because of that it allowed the defender some time to close the distance between himself and the intended target and his speed got him to the point and he was able to come away with the pick and he just overshot his man and threw it out of bounds incomplete second and 10 after the previous play reload he's looking to throw getting some heat and the pressure gets him back at the 8 yd line not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long back up inside their 20 give to the running back and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker they bring the punter onto the field now three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball running it back it's Smith and stampeding through the defense very little will make a crowd hold it breath like a pun return and he brought them to their feet on that one running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break throws to the wide out wide open downfield oh what a move and he gets it now to the four yd line before he's finally stopped a terrific run after the catch the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts they had lost nothing better than to add a three ball here before the break field goal is good and that will extend their lead even further we are ready to get it started here in the second half half on the run from inside zone five and good work by the coverage team to knock down the Return Man the New Mexico State offense returns to the field back to throw it's Hogan oh does he turn that loose down the middle PS it in and he was loose and out the gate and doesn't go down until he gets to the 48 yd line first down off the play fake on first down to throw and the pass is incomplete but it might not matter flag is down and it looked as if the defense was roughing up that receiver and the defender just way too handsy on that last play you could see all the contact as the ball was in the air you simply can't do it and the referee's caught they're bringing heat oh he had it right down the middle and it just squirted right through his fingers and they missed an opport for a nice play on first down fires to the wide out he's got it and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up he mexic Co stake to the line after picking up the first down he'll throw it he got it touchdown Aggies and the route is on and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown one away on the run from inside is 25 finally stopped after a solid return out to the 32 first snap of this drive comes from the 32 hand off from the gun not much he could do there does pick up two to the 34 picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down here's the handoff and excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pickup before the defense put a stop to it the offense getting set for a first down from the 45 pulls and throws off the RPO this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in Priest now he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great M he steps out of bounds but he's got a first down on the play fresh set of downs after the completion off play action on first down always a welcome play for the defense if they get a sack at the 47 a first down sack can be a drive killer now it's second and 13 he's looking to throw complete to the right finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down a new set of downs after the [Applause] completion they'll try the Run able to scr three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven they're about to snap it for the seventh time on this drive they'll go right back to him and after a very short pick up on that run we have come to the end of the third quarter that's the end of the quarter New Mexico state has the lead well guys so far this has been a massive beat down and it would appear the biggest challenge is what kind of Records can they set as we have a look at the third quarter steps and on fourth down they'll try to put three on the ball he'll swing that big leg for three from 44 yds out splits the upright it's good and the field goal was good they get three on the board but it really doesn't matter much in terms of the deficit and he takes this from inside the five and he'll be brought down after a solid effort on that return the aies offense will have another go at it looking for a productive play on first down outside the pocket lets it Go got got him downfield he's loose down the middle inside the 10 touchdown New Mexico state and the puming has started I tell you this quarterback has just been in a great Rhythm all game one with that last completion he's now over 300 yd passing and this has been a complete performance the defense has been lights out and the offense obviously just continues to pour it on this is what you call having a great day putting it all together offense defense complimentary football they'll throw it on first down looking deep and they can't make the connection going for a big play on first down now inside four minutes to go here on second down and it's just been that kind of day for this quarterback in this offense guys they have never been able to get into a rhythm throwing the football timing's been off accuracy hasn't been great we've seen some drops just not in sync that's why they find themselves trailing by a lot right here waiting looking to move it through the air safe completion on the screen and he goes down after making the grab picked up a few but he's still short of the first down marker trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down he's looking to throw get it out on the screen didn't get a a whole lot of yardage before he was stopped but using the running back in the short passing game gives him a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs he wants to throw it again he finds his man a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three we reached the two-minute warning and we see miracles in college football all of the time and they could use one here he's going to pass on second down pocket starts to collapse and they couldn't hold off the heat and he goes down with a sack now trying to keep this drive alive on Third and long from the 45 unloads to the wide out and the third down pass is incomplete the punt team makes its way onto the field and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the momentum this is this is one of those days you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film room that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time and this is what's going to drive coaches crazy it's mental errors right it doesn't take any Talent or lack of talent to have that penalty you just got to watch the ball and when it's snaap get after the quarterback he'll bring it back it's Smith very little will make a crowd hold its breath like a pun return and he brought them to their feet on that one the New Mexico State offense returns to the field what a feeling this has to be David in complete control and headed toward Victory formation yeah no stress under a couple minutes left in the ball and he reels it in inside the 30 they ripped off a big one and they get it down to 27 this offense always looking for those big explosive plays and now they've got it just inside the 30 they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down New Mexico state now working from the Red Zone looking for a man it's Hogan makes the grab on the left the tackle is made but he's got it first and goal from the six and they don't have to go for a touchdown here with this little time left and with the lead but they might anyway he's got it in the end zone for another touchdown and this is a b wed beat down and this always is the debate of where you fall it's your job to stop me or I should get conserved because this offense obviously has had themselves a day and apparently their day is not over they're going to continue to keep scoring and the defense better do something about it here comes the offense on good field again [Music] [Applause] he'll come out throwing on first down and the pass to the sideline will pick up a short game after that last completion it's second [Applause] down he's looking to throw feeling some heat and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long r a man in the middle and a pick up of better than 30 yds on that completion before the defense brings him down after that last big Gainer they'll put it in play first and 10 from their own 49 they're trying to get to it the pass calls incomplete and there are 8 seconds left and now on second down for this offense here we go they'll throw again after the incompletion he wants a big play here late Falls incomplete they fought to the final whistle
