We have a Problem

oh happy day oh happy day [Applause] [Music] so i hadn't told you guys this is the first time we've seen squishy in about 10 days we all thought he was dead cat food had been getting eaten ain't seen neither one of them and yet they're here they're hungry where have you two been i got attacked dog you look pregnant again but you're spayed i wanna tell you about the cats running under kayla's car from jackson huh yeah we went the jackson drove cat home under the car alive got out of the car heard meowing so if you folks don't know where jackson is about 30 miles away it's been a little while we got rained out thursday this is monday so uh basically during the rain time we we did some odds and stuff and we had some fun i took a little bit of a break insert clips of having fun here [Music] [Laughter] one other thing we did transferred some grain around we're still transferring dad did some modifications to my test shack function over well it's function that's they're functional definitely function overlooks hey we got our new tester got some shells man it'll work at least you can sit here and be warm now i also discovered that this bearing on our low dogger that we've replaced at the beginning of the year it's already out so we've only put about i don't even know if we put 100 000 bushel through this dryer yet this year and yeah we got a bearing up so one other thing we're going to do today we're waiting to dry off i'm going to put these security cameras up so these things my buddy told me about them my buddy monroe he's been on the channel a few times mt homes youtube channel look him up anyways he's talking about these things monroe is a contractor he buys houses fixes up sales and flipper and he uses these cameras because he's had stuff stolen from his job site basically this thing is a solar-powered uh wireless camera and it will live stream right to my phone so there's a data plan associated with it but i thought that was perfect because well i don't live over here at this bin site and that's something we worry about is security so going to hang these in various places around the farm i got two of them for now these these cameras were provided to me by the company my buddy told me about them and i uh checked my messages and i already had an email from them asked me if i'd like to try their cameras and after seeing his like yes yes i do in fact he caught some crooks on his camera and we'll put that in the video now let's smoke i don't think he did she don't think this is it i don't think it's pretty disturbing just a little kid but it was pretty neat that he was able to catch that and uh yeah these things are going to work great i think everything's packed in there pretty tight but i believe this is the camera that you can pan 350 degrees i think not quite full circle but uh yeah i think you can make this one pan which is gonna be pretty cool my buddy monroe before those people tried to steal his stuff and he caught him he said he was gonna use it as a trail camera when he got down on that job site i think after that he ordered more of them so i don't know if he's gonna use one for trail cam or not i guess it would work in that application they're no more money than uh one of the cellular trail cameras we used to have several of those uh i like this a little better when it comes to security because i can disarm and re-arm this thing from my from my apps like when we're working here uh we're not going to be just getting pictures of us you know driving back and forth just gotta remember to rearm it i guess yeah we had visitors i think they're trying to get us drunk and sell seed that might work okay upon reading in the book i thought these cameras came with a sim card because they do require a data plan but i need to order one so they're not going to do me much good today unfortunately but should have a sim card day or two so we will revisit that in a future video i do know real link has a black friday sale going on i think like in a couple like a couple days i think it's like starts november 2nd so if you are interested in their cameras check them out i don't have any personal experience with this one but my buddy monroe but you know seeing his cameras how they work i really like the functionality of them well the noisemakers running so the bearings fixed but one thing we need to do our high dollar pressure washer here we need to take that thing put in the shop supposed to be about 29 degrees tonight so might you know might bust that thing ain't going to be very good pressure washer that's the case warm back warm back eventually we're going to take a truck down there now so my brother he took the pressure washer home he's already over there that's where we're going to run so might as well take a truck over there now then he can get me right back over here when he comes back a little sloppy so with this truck it's got some kind of traction control on it and it kept downshifting and going into the neutral that was stuck but we made it so before we get to harvesting dad has to shuttle a excavator and a bulldozer so getting his lowboy hooked up here i mentioned a few videos back that we were going to put up another hoot bar and we are still doing that and we did find a building that's going to be available for the first of the year but we've got to get the bulldozer over there do some excavating someday i kind of just want to take the bulldozer over there now so we can use this truck on that other hopper bottom he forgot a few pieces of his trailer future supervisor a kitten so everybody always asks what kind of escort this is this is a cabelco it was a sunbelt rental excavator that's why it's that's why it's green might be time to fuel her up they're gonna be right beside the tanks so that's pretty convenient i had to come over and get the last truck oh it's a little sloppy but the truck still turned around so it's not terrible yet dad's moving the escalator now so i'm gonna hop in the combine not sure if that's a sign or if he's just restocking might just be restocking ah there's my coat i left that thing in here last week so this is the field that we call 300 bushel field if you missed the last harvest video we were running this field when we got rained out so one of the main questions we got was was this worth it the amount of inputs we put in this field if you're new to the channel we babied this field all year basically we put 300 and some units of nitrogen on there we tissue sampled every week we put i think two possibly three applications of fungicide and lots of extra dry fertilizer lots of micronutrients lots of foliar feeds we threw the works at it basically we have always been very leery when a seed salesman or a chem salesman says try this it'll get you this many bushels so this field we're like do what you can let's turn it loose let's see what happens people asked if it was worth it we figured we needed to make 215 bushel i believe is what we fare either 210 or 215 one four dollar corn to break even so this field i would say i mean we're not gonna hit 300 i'm guessing we're going to be between 250 and 260 and uh i think cash corn is a little over five bucks so yeah we did good this is by far the best this field's ever made now that said it has basically been that way everywhere we've harvested the best yields we've ever had out of just about every field we've done not all fuels were managed this much in fact there was one other field that we managed kind of like this just because usually we would have a little bit of extra on the sprayer and dad would just run it out in the same field all the other fields has just been ideal growing conditions for the most part so yes this is the best this field's ever done but it probably would have been regardless but we increased the yield by about 60 65 bushel in this field versus the other ones so it was definitely worth it in my opinion just it was a lot of extra work to get those extra bushels but hey it was a fun learning experience all right here we go so this is just where the field's not square i did not realize this pass was here last night the last time we harvested it luckily the wind didn't take her down usually when you leave just a couple rows like that this is it the wind will hit it pretty bad so right here i'm recalibrating the header as we were going through the field it was hunting just going up and down up and down driving me nuts i don't know if dad's recalibrated since we put the devastators on so we're going to hit the calibration and see what happens can't hurt and it's easy to do evening wish i could say good morning but it's uh it's 4 30 so here we are had some rain this weekend yeah get a light jump on it but it's a little bit a little greasy in the field all right some of our backs combine at our side spout up so you guys can see what's happening over here dirty windows i know i know it's a shame video quality is horrible oh might be too fast so with the auger extension on there from my perspective i've not seen i can't really tell the difference between running next to the cleaner and running next to alexion and i think the spout extension does have quite a bit to do with that i'm sure but i've been told from the operators that it definitely helps that sounded healthy didn't it farming i gotta say 250 plus bushel corn is really fun a whole lot of this so we're going pretty slow the combine is eating the corn really well in fact it does better uh pushing keeping the combine full but this corn head is really driving me crazy it keeps plugging up we've set the slip clutches off probably four times already today and five acres i don't know if it's this stock itself we've plugged it a few times much more than our other capella but this hybrid in particular really seems to plug it like i said we made a lot of fungicide passes this stock is still extraordinarily healthy the crop is dry it's 20 percent uh but this this crop or this hybrid has really given us this fit this head some bits give me them bushels come on let's hit 300. we can do it man maybe we can't in this field i think he hit 300 over there when he's opening up though all right who wants to hop in the bed of the grain cart with me good let's go well good brian said that one of the cables here has come loose and there's one over there that i fixed a couple weeks ago a different one has come loose and it would appear to be underneath all this corn fantastic looks like i'm getting corn in my britches this is a good time see that looks like it's been busted for a while i would imagine the other end went through the auger into a truck into a grain bin wonderful there's the boss man riding along with his dog that german shepherd lives in that gator pretty much so our corn head just plugged up we're going to get out here and see what we can see bunching up boiling right here at the feeder house i mean it's just packed in there back in there pretty tight hey combine's over there so oh where are we going we need to hear the other way you see his lights why is he playing twice camera crew you doing the camera work now nope where's the button there's the button i already pressed it it's recording see the red red light means recording it yeah and there's the end of the 300 bushel field that's all she wrote so we had a mild booboo with the yield monitor and basically dad in attempting to make a different zone in the yield monitor kind of screwed up and created a different event so i only have partial parts of the yield data and i do not know what i didn't have ends on my field so my shutoffs won't work anyways bj's gets all the weight on the cart so we'll at least get the wet weight here really soon but then we'll have to take out the moisture the field looks like an average 20 moisture so whatever weights he give whatever weight he gives us is going to be a little off because dry bushels weigh less than wet bushels hey we got plenty of room buddy he's gonna press the start button press this one that starts it now which one makes it go press it good all right that's it for tonight as far as the harvest and everything we have is loaded we really just wanted to get this field done tonight that we can move in the morning we've got one more field with this same hybrid of corn i don't know if you could tell in the video but this stuff's starting to start to lodge a little bit so we definitely want to go ahead and harvest it now get it out of actually made the whole field made 246 but that's with the ends along the woods there was uh there really just wasn't much there so the center of the field is where we upped the population up the fertilizer a little bit more that part of the field made 256. so 10 bushel difference there 256 is by far the best that field's ever done we probably raised i believe i believe 190 is about the best we've ever had in that field so uh pretty big improvement
