what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the USC versus LSU week one college football matchup going down Sunday September 1st 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between USC and LSU it's I don't want to say a weird match up but it's just a weird happen stance where you know these are the two teams that have to replace their star quarterbacks that happen to go one and two in the NFL draft this season obviously Caleb Williams from USC and uh Jaden Daniels from LSU and there's going to be a lot of replacing to do there's no you know there's no way around it the thing is though you know Brian Kelly normally has you know an offense that can do big things and he's replacing uh Jaden Daniels with Garrett nus NM historically you know a backup at LSU you know he's seen enough action where he should be able to handle himself well and even if he doesn't you know AJ Swan going be waiting in the wings he transfers in from Vanderbilt so there's options for LSU now you also lose Malik neighbors one of your best rece your best receiver last year and you know he's in the NFL's a New York Giant Brian Thomas went to Jacksonville so Kyon Lacy's gonna have to step up but there are decent options at running back as well for LSU but just coming into the year it just feels like you know there's not the same oomph that that LSU has had in past seasons and my concern for LSU is defense you know last year this this LSU team was just a Civ defensively and you know it's been it's been hard to to back LSU in some spots and you know as much as I like Missouri you know last year Blake Baker was their defensive coordinator and you know it wasn't uh it wasn't anything special for Missouri last year defensively so that kind of left me scratch my head while Blake Baker came over but you know if if if Ryan Kelly sees something in him then he's got to see something now this is supposed to be DBU and we'll have to see if they can uh if they can get back to that because LSU's pass defense last year was one of the worst in the SEC and worst one of the worst in the country so I think they can get back to it but it's only only time we'll tell now for USC on the other side you know you've got Miller Moss that's taken over you know he was a high level recruit he threw for six touchdowns 372 yards in the B Over Louisville last uh last year and now they've got Jade miava coming over from uh from UNLV as a backup option there still options there for USC as well and you know I think Woody marks you know he transfers over from uh from Mississippi State Quinton joiner's still in the program they're they're going to be fine for uh for LSU as well still got you know Zachariah Branch you know Lake McCree at uh at wide receiver so the difference for me here though is I think that USC got the better defensive coordinator here deanton Lynn he came over from UCLA he did a great job with the Bruins and you know it's definitely a step up for USC defensively now I think LSU over the course of the season will have the better skill players in terms of Defense but I think for right now when I look at this matchup and just look at all the pieces I think L LSU being favored you know in this spot I don't love it I think that USC can compete here I think USC has the advantage at certain spots and even if they lose this game I could see it being a fueld goal game to be honest if if uh if USC doesn't win it out right so I'm going to take USC and the Four Points in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pick dogs premium while you're pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
