what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the New Mexico versus Montana State College football match up going down Saturday August 24th 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between Montana State and New Mexico and if this line Clos is at double digits it would actually be the uh the biggest uh FBS Underdog in college football history if I if I'm not mistaken uh with New Mexico you know catching this many points but you got Montana State coming in as a perennial Powerhouse in the FCS you know they had a decent year last year this team finished eight and4 overall they lost in the second round of the FCS playoffs to North Dakota State but this is still a a Montana State team that's returning a bunch of All Conference players second team quarterback Tommy mot and Julius Davis at running back um first team you had Marcus we on the offensive line Brody grey you know on the defensive end so there's a lot of of solid pieces coming back for the Bobcats they finished second in scoring in the FCS last year 39.9 points per game they ran for almost 300 yards per game they were number two in FCS there now mot will have the keys to the car at quarterback Shawn Chambers graduated so no more two quarterback system it's going to be Milan show to run and he's he's done it all I mean he's threw for 3,000 yards in his career sorry over 3200 yards in his career rushed for almost 2500 you know he's been Rock Solid I mean last year he you know threw for over a thousand yards 10 touchdowns and two picks also ran for almost 700 yards so I don't see him having to shoulder the whole low but his health is going to be extremely important if you're betting on the FCS and you're betting on Montana State and especially in this game on the other side though you've got New Mexico who have a new coach in Bronco menden Hall coming over after his time at Virginia now you got Devon dampier at quarterback it's going to be a new look offense for the Lobos I mean you know the the offense was able to click and get some points up in spots but you know I think still Jason Beck has his work cutout for him after being the offensive coordinator at Syracuse now he goes to New Mexico Devon dampier through for 525 yards six touchdowns no interceptions he's also third on the team in rushing and I think he's going to be he's probably going to be the quarterback one it looks like from what I've seen uh Caleb medford's back as his leading receiver he received five put up 551 receiving yards last year and the Lobos hit the transfer portal and there's going to be a lot of uh a lot of moving pieces in this this New Mexico squad on defense though you know you know the defense took a huge step back last year didn't get a whole lot of pressure in the opposing backfield but I still think that New Mexico is going to battle here to just avoid having the uh the stench on them of a of a of an FCS loss even against Montana State and I could see you know with the Dual thread ability of damp here that you know menen Hall is going to try to choose some clock run the ball try to just keep the ball on the ground keep play a possession based game I could see Montana State sort of doing the same maybe mixing in you know you know uh the occasional you know pass like long pass you know basically make the most of of meat's skill set but in the end I just envisioned this being a game where a lot of clock has chewed up here and I genuinely think that you know Montana State could win by sizable margin but I could also make the case that maybe New Mexico sneaks in the back door but either way I see it sneaking under 54 and a half I have this game lined closer to uh to you know 28 to 17 if that's going to be the final result something in the mid-40s so I'm going to go with the under 54 and a half between New Mexico and Montana State and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pick dogs premium why your pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon bye
