Blue Jays vs Red Sox Game 132 (5 WINS IN A ROW!!!) (August 26th, 2024)

as much as we are done with the Los Angeles Angels and won all seven games against them this year you had to Fenway right take on a Red Sox team who going into play today literally just got swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks um in Boston like was pretty ugly no hold on a minute yeah it was in Boston not great if you're a Red Sox fan and if you're the Blue Jays you got no pressure If you're the Red Sox all the pressure is on you they went out in ired multiple guys at the deadline to try and make a push for the postseason you just got swept by the Diamondbacks and going into play today were 4 and a half out of the final wild card spot so again you're the Jays playing with house money and you're the Jays with no pressure whatsoever and they go out there and this weird hey pinch me if you've heard of this before right uh you know oh it's a weird game today right Danny Jansen playing for both teams yeah it was a weird one right in the score sheet you look if you look at the J score sheet you look at the lineup well it was odd bashat leading off Spencer HS batting second Vladimir Guerrero no hold on is that uh yeah I'm not even going to try was it vlat batting three Turner's in there who else we got ikf there Kevin gear Meyers there yeah it was a weird one and uh obviously Danny Jansen playing on the other side of things made it a little weird for for the Blue Jays because you had to have Brian freaking serving lead off for you obviously with no bashet you had to put him in there him in there so it's really weird game all around but nonetheless the Jays go out there and they win 4-1 and they've won now five straight games they're only four games under the 500 Mark now yeah the the the amount of games left clock's ticking right but enjoy them enjoy the victories enjoy the young guys getting it done had another double today vlat with a two-run double late in the ball game love to see it let's break this thing down the T the first bit of scoring almost happened in the bottom half of the sixth inning with Raphael Des hitting a little dribbler and Brian serin comes out from behind the plate gets the ball fires it right into des's back and you know all the Red Sox fans they I think they got a run and they're winning one- nothing but I got to give Brian cin credit and the Umpire credit Servin credit because actually no script the Umpire credit because he got the call right right away instantly as that's happening he's like NOP no NOP Runners out of the Baseline you're out bud and you are not allowed to be on that side and with Brian serin and Caleb Joseph he watched the post game he mentioned obviously being a catcher himself he knows all this stuff if Brian Servin tried to throw around Des because Des went to the inside Lane right cuz he knew that was the only throw to get him out and he sees where was I think was horz at first base was kind of stretching so he knew the ball was going to be on the inside he goes to the inside and if the ball if Brian serin's like I'm going to try and go over top of him or throw it more to the left and it goes into left field or help Som out to the right side and try and get him out and it doesn't H Des that's probably not getting called in the Jays are trailing one nothing but he throws it right into his back ball ball is dead umire blows it dead he's out of the Baseline you're out both runners go back they end up not scoring a run in the play a massive massive swing in events because in the next half inning oh baby George Springer gets the ball up and in at about 92 93 and if you go to his previous aat in the fourth inning he got beat with 95 beautiful pitch right in the up and in corner you can't do much with that this one didn't quite get there but Springer was all over it and crushed it to left field over the green monster Springer enjoyed a little bit of at home plate Nick Peta is like just give me another baseball umpire I don't even want to look where this Ball's Landing cuz it's way on technically George Springer's seventh home run of the season because this is all dated back to freaking June but it's his 18th home run on the year and you're up one nothing we go to the top half of the eighth inning and things start to get interesting again for the Blue Jays as uh where is it Leo jenez pops out to start the inning but then the leadoff man Brian cin singles to Left Field Spencer Horwitz then hits a ground ball to was it was Tristan C the first base he can't make the play t on the play both Runners are safe and now vlad's coming up with two on and one out nowhere to put him and man I we all love him dearly an absolute piss missile line drive to right field stays way back on the fast ball is able to turn not turn on it but punch it the other way with a Authority and thank God stays in play because both guys Ernie K came in a pinch run for uh Spencer Horowitz both Runners come in to score as it's Brian serin and Ernie Clement come in and the Jays now lead at three nothing beautiful set this is a this is off of Luis Garcia by the way and then Addison Barger comes up gets the ball up in the zone drills it to right field it's a ground rule double vlat comes in to score it's a 4 nothing Blue Jay's lead and Addison Barger with another extra base hit continues his hot St at from Roger Center to Fenway Park now J jiren Durant is a solo shot of ver Swanson I thought the guy went over you know reached over the green monster but regardless whatever it's 4-1 at that time Chad green cleans house ball game you win 4-1 I am going to try to get through some stats here but there are a lot of names written down here because of all the pinch hitters and stuff for all the guys that aren't the lineup is was wild one all right the main one vlat one for three with a run scored two RBI and a walk out on base twice just a mutant with the bat in his hand he's been outstanding Barger one for three with an RBI awesome Springer one for four who cares it's a bomb great stuff from Georgie only six hits total for the Blue Jays but they made them count and they made them pay for their mistakes so great stuff 13 strikeout nicka Nick Peta had 10 himself but the Jays struck out 13 times today only walked twice kind of a rough day uh in that sense but it was a weird one altogether so it is what it is technically yel Rodriguez had a clean ending of work but that was in June Ryan Burr did a fine job ining in a third three punch outs one walk and nothing more and they bring in Ryan Yaro at the perfect time because it's a it's like a wall of lefties and man this is now back-to-back outings for Ryan Ybor where he has done this team a big time favor three three in the third two hits allowed one walk four punch outs and of course no runs cross and his numbers with the Toronto Blue Jays going into play today uh let me pull that up here we 374 ra he just went three and the third shadowed Innings that's going to plummet in the twos probably he has been outstanding for this team since coming over great stuff from uh oh 308 that might be the one right there might be 308 ra as a bluej great stuff from him Zack pop face one guy got him out and henes Cabrera just putting up zeros as per usual cleaning inle work had a punch out great stuff Eric Swanson allowed one hit it was a solo shot to jiren Duran but that was it and Chad green going out there allowed the hit the the hit was a double off the wall for I think it was Yosh hit it off the wall and proceed to strike out the side and then the ball game for save number technically number three as of June but save number 15 on the season for Chad green as a blue jay he has been awesome and uh the Blue Jays they've won five straight now look I'm not going to sit here and tell you guys we're all the way back and playoff you're four games under 500 you're nine you're nine games out of a playoff spot stop it however you win tonight win the double header makes things interesting Boston Red Sox Jose BOS name the starter for the Toronto Blue Jays tonight what's he going to do I don't know he's been good recently look at last few outings uh his last three have actually been really good but again it's Oakland LA and Cincinnati however he's gone seven innings in each start and allowed two runs or less in each start he has been very good in those three outings what's he going to do today at Fenway Park who the hell knows boy because it's Fenway Park and we have no idea whatever whatever is going to happen there but let's see what the Jays can do seven 710 first pitch
