with the LA Chargers really looking to fill the void at the backup quarterback position we highlight another one that could potentially be a good cheap option for the Chargers to look at check this out here on Chargers syndicate [Music] what's going on you guys Jake Silva here on Chargers Syndicate Giving You Everything La Chargers news and so much more if it is your first time ever on the channel I encourage you guys to like subscribe hit the Bell button keep you up to dat on future and past videos so in today's video we've already highlighted one potential quarterback option for the backup quarterback role now we're moving on to the next one that has been um really buzzing all throughout uh camp and has been buzzing through the preseason that could be a potential option to pick up before the regular season starts up and that is Cleveland Browns backup quarterback Dorian Thompson Robinson and what we've seen thus far with Thompson Robinson this year is he's actually looked pretty solid up in Camp now and also in preseason now the only thing is he's only thrown for two interceptions with no touchdown passes which I know is one thing to really consider as far as quality backup role but either way in the LA in the last two games that he had played in in his box score against the Minnesota Vikings in game one of the preseason Dorian Thompson Robinson had 13 of 17 of the attempts completed 126 passing yards seven yards per play one interception and he had a rating of 72 and also moving into game two for the Cleveland Browns against the Green Bay Packers this is where Dorian Thompson Robinson also O showed a lot more promise as well 14 of 18 134 yards seven yards a play no touchdowns no interceptions with a rating of 97 so Dorian Thompson Robinson if you also recall was a former UCLA quarterback he's very familiarized with the LA County area but is somebody that could be a very strong uh option for the LA Chargers in for Justin Herbert moving forward only because of the fact of a few reasons is DTR could basically run out the pocket he's a scrambling type quarterback type as well where Greg Roman really likes to utilize a little bit more of the Run trench warfare kind of game so I think he could definitely fit this type of system and Dorian Thompson Robinson it's not like he has to be too cute he has to do like too much he just has to come in and be a quality backup type of quarterback and in the end with what we've seen in just two preseason games and potentially what we may see in the third one I think DTR could be a very good cheap option for the Chargers to Target if in fact all things don't really follow through with a couple of the options so I'd say that if I'm the Chargers DTR would definitely be somebody to keep around in my sights somebody that I think could accurately get the passes through scramble out of the pocket go and shoot for first downs on the run and really kind of give the Chargers a little bit more of momentum the only thing is is that DTR in some of his cases when you actually watch him that if the the offensive line does not end up solidifying itself and it doesn't give you pure pass protection that's where Dorian Thompson Robinson really does kind of shrink in these areas but from what I've seen he's looked a lot better he's looking poised yeah he's only thrown one interception in preseason but either way he is very much moved the needle for this offense to get them moving forward and moving the chains so there has been a bunch of progress that we've seen from DTR this year with the Cleveland Browns and so I think you can make a serious case for DTR to getting and trading for a late round pick to going and picking him up and give at least another different type of backup weapon for Justin Herbert in his Arsenal in case if something was to happen for Justin Herbert throughout the season after he's coming back from a plantar fascia so we always want to be uh prepared and have enough depth in a lot of the key areas that they struggled with last season they're solidifying this but I think this is also one position and one guy that we could potentially solidify as a cheap option if the Chargers do decide to go this route appreciate you guys for joining in up on the video subscribe like it and share it out with all charger fans all around for charger Syndicate Jake Silva signing off here and we'll see you guys on the next video of charger Syndicate take care you guys and bolt up
