10 Players You NEED to ADD BEFORE Week 1 Fantasy Football

what's going on man welcome back to the basem I'm Ron I got to be honest I was helping out my little brother after his Fantasy Draft he had his home league with his buddies and I was like you know what let me let me see who's available on these ESPN waivers and it was shocking taes Hill was there Bucky Irving was there you had uh kamani Vidal brillan Allen like there are guys that are legitimately going in like the 12th 11th round of leagues that are just free sitting out there on your waiver wire right now so we're going to go through 10 or so players that are under 30% owned across all ESPN leagues that right after your draft is done or in those last rounds of your draft you need to be hammering and stashing on your bench as always if you enjoy make sure down below subscribe leave a like let's [Music] go now I do want to make a note on bench allocation here all right there is no need if you have a defensive kicker do not have a backup defense or a backup kicker right off the bat there's no need for any of that you can just kind of grab them off of waivers and stream defensive kicker matchups as you go along and then also if you have any of these quarterbacks or tight ends right you do not need a qb2 if your qb1 is Jordan love or better and you don't need a tight end two if your tight end is in joku or better these spots should be reserved for these bench stashes I'll also say as well if you have a guy like Adam thielen or like this old vet on your bench that'll never really get into your lineup you can also remove them from your bench for these better lesser owned running backs because I want to prioritize my bench to have lottery tickets right this year's Kiren Williams this year's Zach Moss Drome Ford any of those guys they all come from just sitting on your bench and if you get them now you don't have to spend all of your Fab budget or your waiver priority after week one so let's talk about the running backs these guys are 30% or less owned I will say honorable mention guys who were just above 30% that did not meet the cut you had Jalil mcglaughlin and Rico da in that like 33 to 36% range those guys super high priority bets but I will say who is in the same tier as those guys but is only rostered in 22.6% of ESPN leagues right now which is shocking is Jaylen Wright now we're going to go in order of how he would rank these players not just their rostered percentage so with Jaylen Wright in my rankings he's a 10th round pick so if you can conclude a 15 round draft and then pick up this guy for free that is massive like I have him ahead of Nick chub and Zeke Elliott guys who getting drafted in your home leagues right now Jaylen Wright just seems to be absolutely slipping or even just making it to waivers and this is an offense we know will'll score points we know we'll have an explosive offense with Mike McDaniel and Jaylen Wright fits right in he is a rookie running back he was drafted on round four as a perfect scheme fit for this Mike McDaniel offense right all of his running backs aan moer 43 speed you can see here Jaylen Wright 43 speed 38 in vertical 11t broad jump but the crazy part about him is that he comes into this backfield as the heaviest running back he is heavier than Anan and he has 15 pounds on Raheem moer despite also having that 4-3 speed so he's like the biggest size speed specimen in this backfield he can catch passes he can do it all he looked really good in the preseason and then he also has this dual functionality as a handcuff I don't think he's going to be startable as the rv3 in this offense but what I do know is that with hn and moer splitting reps neither of them being this Workhorse 20 plus touch per game guy if either of them goes down if moster goes down if hn goes down both of these guys being sub 200 pounds and being a little bit fragile in years past you have a guy here that gets slotted right in and even as the 1B in this offense would be startable as like a high-end rb3 and if he somehow beat out mostard or something into the rb1 spot we're really cooking and this is the perfect upside swing for your bench very similar here we have I would put in a tier below your mlin Dow Jaylen Wright would be this next group of running backs with Ray Davis first only rostered in 13.6% of leagues which is crazy I would take him in like the 11th or 12th round here and this is what we're working with right now Vegas has the bills offense projected to score the fifth most touchdowns that's a lot of touchdowns and then here we have Joe Brady as OC and Jacob gives points out here over his time with the Panthers and the bills last year he has 42 rushing touchdowns 36 passing touchdowns and a 39% Red Zone pass rate that is lower than Jim Harbaugh's rates with the 49ers meaning that when Joe Brady gets in close he wants to punch it in with the running back and of course that could be Josh Allen but I mean Josh Allen's their franchise quarterback I don't know how much they want him to be the goal line battering ram it could be James Cook but as much as I love James Cook he is 199 lbs bring in Ray Davis or ran Davis he is 21 lb 5'8 so like much more Compact and this is a guy who had 14 rushing touchdowns in his final season at Kentucky and then he also added 29 receptions and 33 receptions in his final two years making him this running back that going have Standalone value kind of like Gus Edwards last year right where he could just be a 10 plus rushing touchdown guy out of nowhere or James Cook goes down and all of a sudden you have a between the tackles grinder who can punch in on the goal line and then also catch passes out of the back field so he is really exciting a running back in an explosive high-scoring offense those are the guys we want and then our third running back here let's talk through Bucky Irving I will say we're going to go position by position here uh no quarterbacks on this list just some running backs wide receivers and tight ends Bucky Irving he's rostered in 12.2% of these leagues and this is more of a bet a bet against Rashad white here where as a rusher last year he was out to the top 40 in like every major statistic of elusiveness rating Miss tackles Force per Rush explosive Rush percentage yards to contact everything now of course the offensive line has something to do with it you also have a situation where he had the second most carries in the NFL last year and very rarely do we see a running back this inefficient just get the same amount of volume now I'm not saying Bucky Irving can be you know he's not going to come out here and be the lead running back in week one but what I am saying is that he was a really good Prospect in his own right outside of his combine he's under siiz he's a small back but this is somebody according to Jacob Gibbs that has hit 50 plus reception 90 plus PFF russing grade 30% plus avoided tackle rate he has juice he catches passes and he is someone that could 100% be a thorn in the side of Rashad white and get like 10 to 12 touches per week and then sort of grow into a role here where he is now like a featured back in this offense and then if Rashad white was to go down he is then Wheels all the way up as like the main running back on this team they did upgrade the offensive line with graham Barton again that could help Rashad white it could also open the door up for Bucky Irving I just want to take shots at this backfield KN that Rashad white didn't have the most efficient year last year and Bucky Irving can kind of do it all as like an explosive runner between the tackles and then also a really good pass catcher out of the back field and then I really do like kamani Vidal as well this is somebody most likely as you're watching this is sitting on your wav wire because he didn't play in the first preseason game and then second preseason game he actually looked really good and then I think he might have rested with the starters in the third preseason game and I just want to take swings on this Chargers backfield right this is a team we know wants to run the ball with Greg Roman should be a good offense as well right they get Joe alal they have ran Slater on the other side they have Justin Herbert at quarterback and this is a day three pick of course but he has size and he also has production where in his first year at Troy he had 26 receptions in his final year he had, 1600 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns so he can kind of do it all and his only competition is JK Dobbins off in Achilles tear and Gus Edwards who most of his game really benefited from the efficiency that Lamar Jackson created in Baltimore I don't know how that's going to look now that it's Justin Herbert and it's not this like massive rushing threat in Lamar Jackson I think Gus Edward's going to be fine and be serviceable but he's not the greatest running back in the world by any means and he's also not a pass catching running back JK doin is a little bit more of a pass catching running back but if the Achilles makes him not even really usable then all of a sudden kamman Vidal has this role in a good offense where he's the passing down back right in two minute drill situations and third downs and then is also out there just mixing in between the 20s and potentially you know going 50/50 on the goal line with Gus Edwards and all of a sudden that's a really interesting profile so for me especially as a guy who's not a pure handcuff um I would be looking to add him ASAP as well now I will say as well Jordan Mason I know a lot of you guys probably had drafts in early August there's a very good chance that that was before the Elijah Mitchell news that Elijah Mitchell would be out for the season he's only rostered on 14.7% of League or teams right now if you can go out there and grab Jordan Mason you absolutely should but he is just a handcuff you're kind of just stashing him if mcaffry gets hurt all of a sudden you have an rb1 and then same deal with brayan Allen 2 he's rostered in 8% of leagues right now if Bree Hall goes down instant starter smash he looked really good in the preseason as well now moving on from the running backs that was six running backs we have three wide receivers I want to talk about I will say if you are a you know subscriber of this Channel and you are drafting a lot of wide receivers early like you should be you know wide receivers through the flex plus one or two you don't have to grab these wide receivers this is really like if you started double hero RB two running backs up top and you feel thin about your wide receivers or if you know you drafted like three running backs through the first five rounds and you still feel really bad about your receivers these are some guys I think I would pick up and stash this one is just I mean insane Davon Wicks is rostered in just 19.4% of ESPN leagues and you guys know I would take him as high as like the ninth round dant Tavon Wick if had to um and I get it this is somebody who is splitting time with Jaden Reed uh Romeo dobs Christian Watson but it's one of the best offenses in the NFL and we've already seen a stretch where they were all healthy he was second receiving yards per game he had the lowest route share though so of course it's like he was bottom of the totem pole but he also produced like the rest of them and the BET here is that he can climb his way up the depth chart or somebody in Christian Watson who's been banged up all the time or any of the receivers get banged up and Wicks all of a sudden is now out there in two or three wide receiver sets he becomes a US usable fantasy asset in an offense attached to Jordan Love and Matt laflor and I'll also shout out his first down per out run here by fantasy points data everybody on this list is a stud right Tyreek Hill auk Jefferson Aman Rous Brown all the way down to Rashi rice Keenan Allen DJ Moore tank Dell Jamar Chase Davion WIS is sitting right there at 13th I think he can play it just comes down to him getting onto the field which is why he's a good stash you're not going to start him early in the year but things could break his way and all of a sudden he is a flex play down the stretch now the last two receivers we're going to mention here are rookies and the big thing to know with rookies this is a really good tweet by Jack Miller and it still holds true right this is from 2018 to 2020 but if you want to zoom in on 2023 you had Adam thielen start strong and then kind of tail off similar idea with like jacobe Myers other side of the coin Rashi rice wasn't startable through 10 weeks and it was a playoff League winner down the stretch uh in last year you had from weeks 10 on Rashi rice Z flowers puka AA and Jaden Reed all his top 24 wide receivers that's the Hope here jayen P was drafted in the second round which is really high draft capital for a guy who's only rostered on 26.4% of ESPN leagues he's not the greatest Prospect in the world uh Matt Harmon sort of compared him to Robert Woods which is like a fine comp and then he's also potentially already out there in two wide receiver sets for the Patriots his only other competition is fellow rookie Javon Baker it's like Kendrick Bourne judu Smith Schuster's gone Demario Douglas but he's going to be in the slot so that's not a big deal either and then like KJ Osborne so he could potentially lead this team in targets and then you also have the added upside of of course the Patriots offense isn't all that sexy but if Drake May is really good he raises the ceiling of this offense and that becomes really interesting for Jaylen pulk I've been taking him a lot in like the 11th and 12th round if he's just for free on your waivers and you feel weak at wide receiver he is a really good pickup now this is probably for a deeper League out there but similar idea with a rookie wide receiver with upside it is jayen McMillan he is only 2.5% rostered on ESPN and he is also a rookie he was taken in the third round and his metrics and Jaylen PK's metrics definitely were hurt or you know kind of not as good as they could have been because Roma dun was in that same offense but they were still both drafted Jaylen pulk in the second round Jaylen McMillan in the third round so the fact you had a wide receiver go top 10 second round and third round tells me that all of these guys are pretty damn good right this is a stacked offense any production is good production and he was kind of like this poor man's jsn where he could work out of the slot he could work out on the outside his per route numbers were really good and he was producing next to a guy like Roman dun and produced enough to get drafted this highly in on the third round now sure little bit of a conflict of interest with Chris Godwin in the slot but they're saying Jaylen McMillan was going to play on the outside and the reviews are already pretty crazy for him we have Todd Bulls already speaking very highly of him here from coach speak index he had a lot of Versatility in college he played slot he played Z he played played X so he's a very intelligent player so that gives us more advantages uh this is very bullish on McMillan Bulls classifies non- Evans godwins receivers as being behind McMillan and with Chris Godwin in line to see a huge spike in slot snaps McMillan's ability to play on the outside is huge for the bucks offense and I think the idea here is that even though Trey Palmer had flashes last year and they do like Trey Palmer the fact that Jaylen McMillan is I wouldn't call it out of position but I would have really thought that if he was going to play right away it would have been from the slot the fact that he's already earned the respect to play on the outside with Chris Godwin on the inside that's pretty huge and then if Chris Godin ever go down he kind of has like this hidden handcuff ability of he'd play in the slot he'd play on the outside and kind of be a focal point in that intermediate area as Mike Evans works over top so he's very interesting as just like a stash and then we we'll get to tight ends now this is technically our 10th player here we're going to go through 12 we're going to keep it 10 for the title but this one we did break our rule all right 40.7% roster justes not under 30% of course but there's something up with tesm Hill where I think some leagues like it's especially if you're doing one in person like with stickers tesm Hill might not even be a tight end on those stickers I think that there's going to be a lot of places or a lot of leagues like home leagues that are more casual that tasm hill just fell through the cracks as somebody that nobody really thought was going to be a tight end and I'll be honest I think it's kind of cheese for him to be tight ended in the first place but if he's a tight end on on your site and in your league go grab him uh my little brother he drafted Fri Muth and then he drafted Dak Prescott and Justin Fields I told him hey if you're going to draft Dak Prescott you don't need Justin fields on the bench so he cuts Justin fields and Tamm Hill is sitting there on waivers I'm like dude like you got to go grab him I know it's like cheesy and it's not great but if he's out there you got to go get him he's not a traditional tight end uh Scott Barrett had a tweet here from his final game of preseason he had 71% of the snaps with the starters he had two snap snaps out wide two snaps as slot wide receiver eight snaps at tight end nine snaps in the back field and especially with a guy like kendre Miller on ir and not really playing tesm Hill's like the rb2 and then he's also like kind of the qb2 here I know that Spencer Rattler is there there's just a lot of outs here and he also has like huge upside on a weekly basis where if you don't have one of the top Guys tesm Hill is your next best bet to give you like 20 points in a given game so if you are out here with a tight end again below that line we talked about uh in the beginning right so if you have a tight end that's like Brock Bowers Goddard Schultz Fri Muth uh Musgrave uh anything like that grab Tamm Hill as like a nice Balancing Act of like you get two options per week to sort of figure out your tight end spot now players that are actually going to be available in most leagues here first we'll talk about Hunter Henry not the sexiest pick in the world but he is only rostered in 10.2% of leagues right now and you get a spot where we talked about it with Jaylen pulk there's not a lot of options in this passing game and somebody that I really respect when it comes to tight ends at CPE Fiasco on Twitter and I believe it's Andrew Cooper uh he says when we look at the tight ends that finished top five without being a top two Target on their team the results are equally scarce Evan ingr managed to pull it off in 2022 um and then you also have Robert tunan in 2020 and then you have martelles better in 2014 so only three over the last decade have finished in the top five of tight ends without being a top two Target on their team it's a very huge thing we should be looking for with tight ends we want them to have a lot of targets last year that was Sam La pora next to uh Alan R Brown of course and that could be Hunter Henry this year in an offense that gets a boost at quarterback with Drake May down the stretch of the season and we've seen in the past him kind of like score touchdowns and just be on the field and get you like a tight end 10 finish I think Hunter Henry can give you that and again he's a nice floor play if you have a guy like Bowers or like one of these huge upside swings at tight end he's a nice you know steady he's not going to win you leagues and finish top five but he can absolutely be like a top 10 every week starter uh Hunter Henry and then if you want a really deep one this is my pick if there's going to be a Sam Le pora this year which usually there's not but if there was going to be one my pick would be Ben sonat he's rostered in only 6.9% of ESPN leagues right now he's 100% on waivers and if you have one of these guys again if you have like a uh Dallas GD or something I think he's a perfect guy to pick up on your bench because after Jan Dawson get gets traded out of Washington their next best Target is I guess you could say like Austin Eckler you could say uh dami Brown you could say Noah Brown who they got from the Texans but these guys are all pretty fringe and I know that Zack Herz is there you could throw Zack hers in that mix as well but if somebody was going to have massive upside to be a League winner it'd be benenson not taking over Zack her's role by midseason and then just being a monster down the stretch he is a freaky freaky tight end better Ras score than Sam La pora 63 250 lb 468 speed 40in vertical 10 foot Broad and then really really good agility score so again if anyone's going to do it it'd be Ben sonat just keep an eye on him uh as a nice stash especially in deeper leagues now that's going to do it for us today I don't really have much to push I will say if any of you guys have other drafts going on or if you want I have waiver wire articles I push out every single week during the season we have weekly ranking as well all over on the patreon rest of season rankings too if you want to use my rankings for trades you can find that all on the patreon patreon.com Ron Stewart but if not I just wanted to pop in here and say you know what if you finish your draft like a week or two ago and you know there's somebody that's stale on your bench maybe maybe you had Elijah Mitchell on your bench and you cut him or you had one of these guys who got hurt and you cut him and you just have like a space you're looking to pick up a guy those would be my 10 to 12 that I would be looking at off of the waiver wire across most of these sites I imagine so with all that being said if you enjoy leave a like subscribe and I will see yall in the next one [Music]
