Edmonton Oilers Sign Travis Dermott To PTO & ONE MILLION VIEWS MILESTONE! | Oilers News Update!

hello oers fans Austin here with just a quick news update as I discussed in today's earlier video news update that I uploaded uh it does sound like Travis dermit will indeed be joining the mton Oilers on a pro Tri out he is going to arrive in mton for the informal Captain skates and then he will officially sign a pro Tri out with the mton Oilers uh I'm not sure who was first to report on it I've seen Dustin neilson's name thrown around I've seen Frank Sali I've seen a few others so whoever reported it first uh just want to make sure that I'm giving credit to them as well but it's being widely reported on xort twitter.com now so I did want to make a quick little video touching on that and of course stick around to the end of this video because there's something I wanted to discuss and announce that I'm very excited about so if we take a quick look at Travis Dermot this was his player card from J fresh before the start of the 2324 season with the Arizona Coyotes Travis Dermot he's a former Vancouver Canuck former Toronto Maple Leaf uh he bolsters the left side of the defensive group for the Emon Oilers if Brett kulak if Matias atom or if Darnell nurse were to get hurt if he manages to crack this roster on his Pro Tri out he adds just a little bit of depth on that left side he plays predominantly Lefty he can play the right side but he doesn't really play the right side very often and of course when you look at his role his competition that he faces it's very limited he does not go up against other teams top lines so uh he's very sheltered in his role but he is pretty decent with the numbers that he provides in a sheltered rooll I think this is a very lowrisk high reward situation for Emington or lowrisk like medium reward I guess Travis Dermot he is a okay skater he's a pretty decent passer uh pretty good at Puck retrievals when the puck is dumped into his side of the Ice uh so for the mton Oilers they're just looking for a bit of extra depth on the left side when it comes to their defensive group because we all know if one of those left defenseman that they currently have that's projected to be in their lineup gets injured the depth is not great so not an issue with Travis dermit at all uh I would like to see his stats from last year I don't have those Advanced analytics if someone else does please let know what you think of this uh Pro Tri out I know there were other names that floated around there Kevin shaten Kirk Tony D'Angelo those were some other names that did float around for pro triy outs for mton but I'm actually pretty okay with Travis dermit I think this is a lowrisk you know it's just a pro Tri out right there's no sense getting too worked up over something like this and by all intents and purposes it sounds like Travis dermit is a pretty good person too so that's always good news the Oilers you know they they're they believe in second chances for a lot of different types of players and people which I think is great uh in this situation I think it is just nice that this is a pro triy out where you know there is an extra baggage joining him it's not like Tony D'Angelo who has a lot of history a lot of extra baggage coming into the team Travis dermit pretty chill now when it comes to the end of the video here since we are getting into that I just wanted to thank everyone tuning in right now for 1 million views on my videos over the past 365 days my very first video that I ever uploaded was on November 10th 2023 it was was just before Jay Woodcraft was fired the Emington Oilers are broken it was an absolute mess in oil country the team was 29 and one and I needed a way to express myself and create some content and connect with fans and I'm just so happy that we are at a much more positive State as Oilers fans where the team is at now compared to that first video I'm glad that the content didn't continue to devolve into this like negative side uh we are all about positivity on this channel um at the end of every video I always tell you guys tell someone that you love them uh Ben stelter Foundation fight like Ben fight like a kid I wear this bracelet every single day and you Oilers fans
