yeah I mean it's been news upon news obviously when it comes down to this team I mean all some good some bad I mean you know the you know praise up to Ricky persa man I think that him being shot was a a a tragedy but but a but a miracle on in in one breath I mean you know he got shot in in his torso but he didn't it wasn't any vital he was only in the hospital a few hours miraculous you know so shouts out to him I he's gonna start on the um on the pup list but uh he look like he'll play this season so that's good um you know but like I said we've been just we've been covering the noise in regards to this team all offseason you know with Brandon auk with with Trent Williams you know um Sam not Sam Don Sam Don leaving but and then they bring you know Brock PR being you know clear and cut guy there and what they gonna do about paying him in in a year or two so you know lot of turnover lot of turnover um you did finish 12 five last year um top of the division I believe they were the number one seed in the NFC if I'm not mistaken uh I think so yeah yeah so their home game in the AF title games so I do remember that okay so um like I said their backup last year um ironically enough they got uh they got uh what is is it Josh dos now yeah I think I think so they did get yeah somebody like that Josh dos there their backup uh Chase young who they traded for end up leaving to go to the Saints Eric Armstead uh but they did gain lyard Floyd uh they did get devre Campbell from the Packers who's goingon to fill in for uh green law for the for the time being because he's still coming back from inury sign Rocky seem to help bolster their quarterback room they definitely needed help there um outside of travius Ward you know they were they were uh you know in need of another Corner although interesting enough we'll talk about in the minute but he's not high up on a depth chart which I thought he would be so that's interesting to note in regards to how much he's gonna play but yeah but you know from your perspective give me your take on their offseason what you know what did what did did you know what was your take on it how do you feel about what they did in offseason and what what is their team G to look like in 2024 yeah well you kind of said it all I mean it's been noisy and uh you know there are certain organiz ation in the league that you expect that from and then there are certain organizations in the league that are pretty much steady and you know that they're always going to be competitors they all they have a certain culture in the room you know they normally keep things under under wraps for the most part they keep guys happy guys know what they expect when they walk in there as far as a culture and the 49ers you know to me stand out as one of those organizations that normally like that to me it signifies that things are getting a little stale in the building I feel like their window is closing I think this is the year that their window May close because you start to see guys I mean these These are problems that they used to not have you know people that people didn't you're not used to people complaining about their contract in San Francisco because they come in and they fit they know they're gonna they know they're going to compete they know the culture that it is and they ready to rock and roll they'll work out things on the back end right you you don't hear about guys wanting to get out of there you don't hear about guys requesting trades often now these things are starting to come up a little bit more because I think you know start to get stale in a while you get tired of competing five and six years in a row without getting over the hump and you know like after a while just like coaches you know they can say all these things and they can do all these things in the locker room but after a while it just falls on deaf ears if you're not able to get over that hump and I feel like guys are starting to get a little bit little bit anxious there you know guys you see a bucking a little bit you see Trent Williams what in his contract finally got it um and then also just like luck wise it doesn't seem like luck is on this team side right now I mean the the unfortunate situation with Ricky parisol you know that everybody I know when they made the trade for cha for Chase young everybody including myself you know we were interested we thought okay this is this unfair that's a cheap code that's about to be you know outside he did well but it didn't pan out the way he thought it was going to pan out you know you got guys battling injury I mean the thing that happened in green law and a Super Bowl like a freak injury non- contact running onto the field messes up his ailles it's just one thing after another with this team and it feels like they cannot get over the hump man it's just you hate to see it because you know you love the organization you love guys like Trent uh Christian mcaffrey of course Debo you want to see them win one but it just doesn't seem like luck is on their side man it just seems like it's always something and I feel like that window is closing for them quickly I feel like it's Championship AB bust um so you know it's gonna be interesting to see them this year they still out of 49ers they still got them dogs they still got mcaffrey who was that guy they still got you know a great coaching staff and great players Nick Bosa they got obviously the best offensive player and mcaffry and obviously and close to the best defensive player in both on their team so they're going to compete regardless but if I'm a fan and you know if I'm watching from the outside looking in like I'm saying it just seems like it's one thing after another with this team and this is not like them this offseason so it's gonna be interesting to see how they bounce back they do have a favorable schedule I will say that okay yeah ironically enough to say that because they were playing a first place schedule so typically when you play first place schedule that's typically you know you know that's added pressure to your already you know pressure cooker type of environment when you have uh the stigma on your head that you have to be in the Super Bowl or competing for the Super Bowl every year with this roster most people would argue that they have the best roster in the league you know top and bottom so if you have that stigma on you and you know you have that noise you have that all that going on and you add a tough schedule on top of that that's just that's that's a recipe before you fall on your face but you know is you know to your point I do believe that they got a lot going on um in regards to this roster and where they're at um you know I don't know what what with the GM and and owners and their timeline is on right now with with Shanahan and and this this environment but um yeah I I I definitely have to share the sment with you that it's it's really um Championship a bust at this point and I think that you know I was a little I think I was a year early on this by saying this in offseason last year when they lost in the Super Bowl but I think that they're gonna they're gonna call Carl San on the carpet if he does not get it done this year yeah absolutely and I mean it's it's hard to argue that it's not doe um you know I mean we've seen coaches fire for much less to be honest you know what I mean and I hate to say because he's a successful coach it's not like they haven't been winning they have been winning but after a while how much rope do you give a guy if they can't get over the hump so thing changes have to be made if it's not the coach then it might be you know some drastic roster moves I don't know what it is but something's gonna have to change if they not able to to get at least I feel like they need to win the Super Bowl this year um you know I I don't know depending on how it goes down if they make it to the Super Bowl or whatever the case is but something's definitely going to have to change if they don't you know they're not able to get off the Finish Line yeah because I think that I think K has been to the Super Bowl twice in his teen year yeah Chiefs and lost y okay I think he damn okay yeah that's what Kryptonite did okay yeah yeah and I mean if anything that that might help his case a little bit because it's almost like the Jordan effect you know what I mean like you know yeah you lose everybody's been losing to the Chiefs so right anything that could work in his benefit maybe save him but again the pressure still there I mean especially when they' been it's not like they got blown out they've been to there were two tight games so one call here one call there one thing change here there they could have won it both so yeah I don't know but I do believe that they really are in a situation where it's it's win now your point I I don't even think that is gonna require them losing for them to make changes I think that regardless MoneyWise they G have to make changes after this year like you everybody a premium and I still I'm still trying to figure out how they did it I mean you got George K make a top dollar you got BOS make a top dollar you got only person that make top dollar is a quarterback and he's gonna want his money in a year that's what saving that's what's saving him is the fact they got him on a rookie deal but like you said they're not gonna be able to keep that forever so and that's not a guy that you I don't care who that's not a guy that you gonna pay I mean I'm just sorry like you know he's been able to get it done but they just they can't they can't pay him it's not possible really so you don't think they're gonna pay Brock p i mean with I say this out of all the guys that they gotta pay and it's it's tough to say this for a quarterback position but I mean you know the money the money quarterbacks you know require and without a superl if he wins a Super Bowl that could be the best thing that happens with Brock party because if he win a Super Bowl he can aim his price okay but if they don't win a Super Bowl then they gonna have to make some type of move you're already saving money at the quarterback you know you gonna have to see what what moves you can make you know whether bring in a vet guy or something but I don't know it's just it's going to be interesting to see how they navigate that because that's could been their Saving Grace is the fact they got him on a rookie deal that's true that's true and it's not on a rookie deal but it's a rookie seventh round deal so it's super cheap yeah it's the cheapest cont you can have as a draft pick that's it yeah so that's was been you know what's saving them all that money so when that's gone you know something gonna have to get yeah there it is there it is I'm curious about that but we got to we got to reevaluate that as the season goes on how about how this thing is going to go but I mean it's been like it's been a lot of noise now I give them credit you know because I I wasn't I wasn't optimistic they was going to get all of is done like Reign the Trent to to to a deal get auk in at at top dollar you know I don't think they was gonna be able to get it done I thought they G to trade get Trent back and trade a that's why I thought it was a likely scenario but they managed to do it somehow I'm sure they probably they probably sold him on the fact that look I mean the last two years they were a injury away against you know Philly the year before right they made it to the Super Bowl last year lost to Mahomes and then you know that I mean everybody loses momes and them so I mean they probably been able to sell them on the fact that you know they just been a few guys away every year so you know and especially guys like Trent every every year counts you know what I mean like he's on he's on the back career he's 32 years old he didn't get no younger so yeah you know it's now and never with them so I mean I'm sure that that's what they sold the guys on like I said they're a stable franchise so you know you know what you're getting with them normally uh but it's just a matter of getting over there H like I said it's one bad luck thing after another true true indeed true indeed okay so as we look at the roster itself um uh clearly you know we they got all the Tools in in the tool bag uh they did lose um one of their running backs Elijah Mitchell to IR so he's not on the roster at the moment and then perol is actually now on uh IR for the first four games but loaded I mean you know I would you know there not household names on o line outside of Trent um but I would say that uh you know they make it work you know and I think have him him in house and him being the Catalyst along with a solid blocking tight end and receiver tight like kto little dual threat guy I mean I think they they definitely uh right there for the uh picking in regards to you know being productive offensively not everything all the noise is kind of quieted for week one um you know I again I I would love to see what this offense gonna look like once per finally gets on the field um him being a slot guy but I do think Jacob Cowen and Jan Jennings can fill in you know you know well and I don't think they're gonna be him but I think they're gonna be a solid addition to that offense and of course K being an x- Factor um so great offense you know couped by defense that only question I really have I mean clearly got studs you know in different in different areas around this particular unit but only yeah I only thing I question about them is their dline depth it's not a lot there um you know let let a few guys go like said Eric Armstead and a few other guys had to walk um in for agency but um they don't have a lot of guys up front that that are you know you know quote unquote space eaters yeah got on the edge got hard grave in the middle but you know Malik Collins they got I believe got him in the trade but I mean they got four guys so if they get injury here it can get different you know up front yeah up front um and that's that's the thing that they're that that's going to be you know Kryptonite for them is if a team starts to run the ball or if a steam starts to pound them and you know get them behind early in the game then they're gonna be able to control the clock and then they're gonna have to play from behind and that's if anything that's where you want Brock you don't want them on schedule you want Brock to have to go out win the game for you so you get yeah if you get him down early that you know if I'm a coach opposing coach that's the first game plan I'm going try to do we G to try to run the ball control the clock uh you know stay on schedule with him and get them playing from behind you know make rock go out and win this game for us so yeah you know that's that's that's going to be interesting to see if they can do that you know like you said without a lot of dline depth you're one injury away you are you are yeah so um again they got a solid front but again it behind them though is is where you have questions you know because outside of gr MOS again not lot not a lot of household names either in regards to you know who's GNA be uh their dep pieces or their rotational pieces because I mean a lot of guys are going you know four five six D line deep just to have rotation pieces yeah now you know so you don't burn out your starters yeah absolutely and it keep a fresh Rush exactly exactly they don't have that you know it's gonna be hard to do anything on that back end agree agree I am excited to see H funga come back he was inured all last year I'm excited for him uh the kid J Brown who they drafted last year was one of my sleepers um in 2023 draft so I'm interested to see how he pans out he's look like he's gonna be the starter u a free so the secondary is looking pretty good uh like I said I'm trying to see where y Rock Yim fits in this equation um because they did pick him up in free ageny I thought he's gonna be a vital piece because he was a good Corner in Indie but um again Dam malor and Lenor and shadarius W are the guys up front you know is he gonna play some slot he's gonna get some rotational you know I guess you can say uh reps outside you know depending on who's going to play slot maybe but you know just question of what they doing there um but yeah I I'm love G love to see what Devon C and Fred want to do in the middle that's gonna be interesting yeah as far as three down linebackers they can they can move they definitely move I think deantre got out in the tank still so D he was mean he's a tackling machine you know in in in Green Bay so I think he's going to do that much work um especially with having Fred next to him that's gonna be good for him yeah that that was a big pickup for them like you said espec with the green law I'm not gonna lie I was worried about the green law injury how they were gonna replace him but yeah you know that they were definitely able to make that happen uh and charar is Ward too I mean he's he's one that doesn't get enough credit he's a dog um casy them Casey Corners man like they just develop them they develop them and they send them off like they lit they got rid of War first you know got rid of him and then they brought in uh Jerry sne used them for two Super Bowls and got rid of him you know so they got you know we got Capital back for him but these guys just seem to pan out once they get developed right in in spola system so yeah so he's one of he's one of those prod that's from that system so yeah he's he's a number one corner he typically I love to see him and him and DK mck go back and forth that that's always entertaining it's PR TV it is they they getting back and forth they you know a penalty here a penalty there but it's good it's good it's good to watch yeah it's fun they got a lot of good battles in the in the you know NFC West they don't get a lot of a lot of attention because obviously you know San FR has been running away with it these last few years but it's a lot of good internal battles wide receiver DB battles and the trenches um you know of course when when Aaron Donna was there watching him go up against Trent you know what I mean so it's a lot of good good battles that they got in there and you know 49ers of course everybody brings that aame when they come to see him so I love watching charvarius play and you know other guys hu fanger like you said coming back he's gonna get in the mix it's gonna be fun to watch him indeed indeed indeed okay all right so let's look at them from a grading perspective so you know if you had to give them a great for the offseason um production and their in their their movement they've had throughout the entirety of the offseason and uh what what level what grade of would you give them for the offseason and where do you place them you know sight unseen in the division um I give yeah I give him an A minus uh I give him an A minus because they didn't shake up too much and they didn't have to you know it looked like from the look of their offense it's pretty much the same thing coming back I I don't think I saw any really new names aside from peara who you know got added to it other than that looks like they got pretty much starting the same starting 11 coming back on offense continuity is always good so you know no need to change that defense like we said they had some injuries had some people to part they plugged them in the best that they could um like I said the only thing keeping them from being you know A+ and things like that are those depth issues like you mentioned on that D line and uh just in in general f you know filling those gaps but I mean with the with their salary there's only so much they can do but um you know I like the fact that they were able to get the guys back that they needed back they're able to get the deals done as messy as it was they got it done that's matter that's all that matters they're gonna be ready so you know uh I give him I give him credit for that so I give him an A minus you know okay I look at him like that yeah yeah the dline piece is is is is is is big for me in regards to that uh defense being uh you saw starts up front I mean let's just be real about it so um you know I was I think I was I was getting ready to go up to an A minus with you um but I'm think I'm G do B+ because I think I think the they're very top heavy to kind of what you alluded to um on top of the fact they're very thin on the D line like I said they have injury um at any vital moment Edge or interior then they got a issue um you know and I'm not sure how they would would even address it at this moment because like I said they got very little cap space to use up at this point once they got Trent signed so yeah that's one thing that keeping me from you know giving him a glowing a grade but definitely High B plus little that right on that edge 89 old grading system 89.5 almost a 90 um comes down to what they uh did in the off season but um like you said they got a great Rost already um fing that void with green law with Devon C was a great ad um like I said I'm still still waiting to see what rocket sing because I thought that was a great ad too I was telling DK uh who's the 49 faithful on our pod you know I think that they were Rocky te was gonna be pretty good for them but he's not he's not he he doesn't seem to be I guess you can say quote unquote uh wowing the coaches at this moment because he's not he's not you know showing in the fold as being a debt piece yet so we'll see but if he's on the field I think he'll be productive for them so if he gets there and they can hold up on the D line I think they'll be fine yep I agree I agree so where would you place them in in in the division if uh if you s us scene today where do you think they finish I think they finished I'm I'm G say first I'm still I I really I really think realistically the only team that could take them over would be the Rams um but I still get I still get 49 as the edge okay I say first okay um yeah uh I'm be I'm G be I'm GNA be controversial here and I'm gonna say second um I think that I think by by their own I guess you can say something that's probably gon be out of their control they might end up being second in division by by a game maybe a game it'll be tight it'll be tight I think I think by Maybe by game they might being being a division uh in you know a wild card team instead of division winner we'll see I can see that I would I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happened okay all right so let's ask that faithful question before we move on to the next team so can Shanah Shanahan fin a job in your opinion I think he can I think they're capable if they stay healthy they can that's the key that's obviously yeah that's out of his control that has nothing to do with him and I will say give in in his defense the games that they have lost in the Super Bowl in the championship it hasn't been because of bad coaching not in my opinion I don't feel like it's been I think it's been because of things outside of their control like we mentioned injuries uh you know playing just getting outplayed not necessarily out coach but outplayed so I think that he can do it I think he is capable uh whether it happened or not you know who knows that's up to the football guys but I think he can do it I think he is capable yeah I mean to you to a degree you know when you play with you play with skills good luck happen you know that's usually the vice when you talk about championships right um you know but then they've been on the opposite side of that obviously to your point you know but but their bad luck and their injuries and things of that nature things have just happen to fall apart at the wrong time they've gone through two seasons they've been you know holistically healthy and then somehow another they get injuries in the playoffs which end up costing him Brock py two years ago green law in last year Super Bowl so yeah I mean I I'm I'm not I'm not gonna let Shan hand off the hook personally I really think that some of this it falls on him whether it's a fair or not you know and regards to um you know his conservativeness in in the Super Bowl to a degree I do get that Kanas City had a you know a really good defense last year uh you know some people would argue that you know he was you know trying to he was playing it safe rather than going for it in the biggest game of the year you know it's kind of like you either you know you either risk it all and win it all or you play conservative and and you playing the lose so I think that if he has another I would say this if he has another game where people are questioning his ability to you know coach the big big game then I think that we we could honestly say to that he might be the issue in San Fran not necessarily be the players again the TMS the management have done their job they put everything around him and kept everything around him that he could possibly could came mat much more so and some point you know we're gonna have to look at the head man because he got rid of his coordinators you know he defied his DC you know he shuffled some things around in his staff and things that brought some different guys so that's that's the callner card so you get one pass if you fire your coordinator that's true but if you have the same result come next season and you and you replace the coordinators then we gotta look at you yeah I mean you hired them so you know if you fire the guys you hire then you know like you said you get one pass right and I'm interest to see what the defense gonna look like too because again they got a new DC with a combination you got Brandon Stelly and another guy they promoted within they kind of be work in in t with the defense so is defense gonna be as dominant with there with their with their play Style versus what they've had in the last three years so yeah you know I'm I I ain't a Brandon stale fan at all you know I'm not I'm not that ain't saying much of nothing him being a defensive coordinator it's not at all not at all so listen I just hope for I hope for their sake that he just don't mess up good luck with that good luck with that
