of kennol state where these fans have been eagerly anticipating this one all week and the Raging cun will kick it off to get us underway on the move from inside is five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so kenesa State's offense will get the first possession of the game here he comes and obviously defense is always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six power football with the Run finds his way ahead for five and now they've got it at the 28 and as an offense having success on a run play like that early in the game just opens up all the possibilities of your playbook moving forward play action running the ball throwing the ball screens anything is at your disposal at this point and to keep this opening drive going they'll need to convert third and one they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker so important to convert these third downs and they get it done they'll have it at the 42 and I think on that last run play on third down here early in the game they're making a statement that we believe we're the more physical team and we're going to run the football even if you know it's coming at you nice job they've got the ball at Midfield I expect to see more run plays coming up been showing them the run now they'll throw it got his man on the right and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain I like this tight end he does a really nice job on his route running he's been beating man coverage he can find the soft spots in zones you got to get him involved this offense has a second down play back to throw it's Bryson got his man and the defense able to drag him down but not four they'll recycle that down marker guys out the back field now it's not just run the ball down Feld anymore you got to be versatile I got to be able to trust you in the pass game and I got to be able to throw you the football and you can do that right there I know you're going to catch it and I can depend on you this Kennesaw State offense is on the [Applause] Move he'll keep it himself got the first down and still on his feet and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up well this is one of the fastest quarterbacks in college football and that's why the option's a good idea because if he can get out in space and he has a chance to get down field he is really difficult to tackle and he's very difficult to catch as you saw in that last play getting a first down the lone backs got it we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know we clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down wide receiver now comes in motion to the ground with the back they get him stopped at the 30 but not before he gets five yds that didn't bust for a long one but now third down becomes very manageable it's not third in eternity now the whole Playbook short passing game long passing game all of it's available they'll come to the line for the eighth snap on this opening drive facing a third and short they'll try to get the first through the air trying to make magic on the scramble and he scoots his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit nice job nice way to end that play for the QB he does a really good job scrambling getting the first down and get getting down because defensively I'm trying to get a lick anytime I can hit the quarterback that is a win kenas state coming out with another first down they'll give it to the back pick up of one it's down at the 11 the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong strong and I say Country Strong they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big boys off play [Applause] action and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 and everybody knows when you're running that play action that fake has to be great everybody has to bite it for it really to work defense didn't bite it didn't bite the bait went after the quarterback got him on the ground time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line on Third and long no secret what he needs here and he's feeling the Heat and he will go down final play of the first quarter and not the way he wanted to end it that's the end it's been a defensive battle through the first period and the stats tell that tale well based on that we can hope to see a little more offensive explosion here in the second quarter as we get ready to get things started they'll try to put three on the board as the field goal unit comes on never a doubt from this bigf footed guy 49 yd field goal is good well this team knew coming into tonight's game they had to get momentum early playing at home they want to get the crowd into it so you get a beautiful drive here to start this thing you would have liked to cap it off with a touchdown but listen set yourself up for a field goal you knock it through the uprights you got the lead everything right now looking good so after the made field goal they'll kick it away and rely on their defense and he takes this from inside the five able to find enough room to get it out across the 25 he's brought down at the 26 so the Louisiana R and cajun's offense will have its first possession of the game as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jessy for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt and this sophomore able to wreak some havoc and get the sack and a great job by the defense dropping in zone coverage all eyes on the quarterback taking away the options and then finally the pass rush gets home gets him on the ground so let's see if they can make up for that loss on second down from the 18 to the air it's Fields zings it complete to the right and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one yeah and he runs a quick out route and this is a timing route quarterback has to trust him throw him the football you could tell they thrown this a time or two nice job nice success Ball's at the 27 this offense facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass quarterback on the Move still looking picks up the first down and gets down to avoid contact so frustrating as a defense because you got the offense in third down you're in a situation now where you can get off the field if somebody just makes a play but you let the quarterback escape and then beyond all that you you can't even get a good hit on him because he slides to protect himself looking for room it's Washington they'll get him down but not before he crosses the 50 he's down to the 49 first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game the Raging cun have this offense rolling the pull and throw off the RPO they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker what we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a kept it on the ground last time bringing up a second down catch in the middle it's Bernard draged down at the 39 but he's got five yards and they'll move the sticks yeah and I tell you what when you stick these fast suckers in the slot they don't have to be big but you get those guys that are so quick in the slot they can get great matchups and I can get the ball to them quick because they're such Dynamic Playmakers they'll throw it on first down that's reeled in it's Washington they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground to cover to pick up the first that completion leaves us with second and medium pulls and fires complete brought to the ground but not before getting enough for the first down nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive success the clock has reached the two-minute Mark and they have a chance to at least cut into this lead before the break and the Raging cun getting set on First and 10 he wants to throw it again got his man and the catch it run into the end zone touchdown agent and I just love the execution by this offense late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game and I tell you what heat that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up [Music] numbers and they'll try to add another to their lead [Applause] exra and the extra point is good and it's a four-point lead they put together an 81 yd drive and they finished the deal with a 26y yard touchdown pass the kickoff unit about to go to work kick he'll start the return inside is five finds just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line guys we'll get another look at this kennes saw State [Applause] offense got his man quickly and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play well you can tell those two have been practicing the out route all off Seas long they look like they could have completed that in their sleep and here comes the offense on second down back to throw it's Bryson and he just overshot his man and threw it out of bounds incomplete up [Applause] third these are the types of plays where offenses impose their will third and short from the 45 looking to throw for it almost intercepted it'll fall incomplete the defense almost came up with a turnover third and short like that on your own side of the field you're just looking for a quick hitter you're trying to get the ball out of your hand quickly but the timing completely off there for the offense and the ball Falls incomplete canol state will have to punt this one away running it back it's Bernard he gets it up to the 34 yd line before he stopped and that's where the offense will set up shot looking for a productive play on first down trying to start the drive with a pass going for the big play and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on well the receiver was double covered on that play and I don't know if the decision by the QB had to do with the pressure because he was hurried he just had to get rid of that faster than he wanted to he's lucky he didn't come away with an interception on second down he'll try to make the connection that passes in complete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down doesn't take this defense a lot of time to get to the quarterback man they've got speed all over the place they hit him so quickly and because of that the ball fall is incomplete if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on Third and long he has to throw for it he's going to run it and he avoids the hit and slides after the short game here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half well still a really nice job there on that third down trying to get after this quarterback and obviously they're not able to make the play in the back field but really nice job pursuing you see the athleticism and the speed have how they play as a unit together only giving up a little bit of a gain and Now setting up fourth down offense set on first down dropping back it's Bryson fires to the big fella and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way decent pick up on that play well I know the tight end did some good things after the catch but got to give the quarterback credit to for the location of the throw because he put it out in front of his big man he was able to make the catch and accelerate creating some distance there between him and the defense on second down he'll let it fly grabbed in the middle it's Wallace a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half it'll be a first down from the 49 yd [Applause] line he's going to pass unload gos to the right he makes a catch he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down that looks like a real simple play by the wide receiver but give him a ton of credit that was an excellent route he never telegraphed that he was breaking to the outside kept his eyes downfield so when he cuts he's able to get maximum separation from the defender and that's why that play is [Applause] successful working that left side now he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and a great play design here in this type of situation obviously trailing you're trying to put something up on the scoreboard and just using the sideline using the boundary getting the ball out of bounds and stopping the clock this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far but starting to get things moving it's first and 10 with the catch it's Kent you know I know it seems like an easy pitch and catch but for the tight end there that route potentially changes if it's man coverage so good job by him knowing it zone I'm just going to sit down this is basically like a checkdown right let's just take the easy pitch and catch and keep this drive going one more snap coming before juice boxes and orange slices we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays and here on second down they'll send out the field goal unit to try to get three before the break and it's right down the boulevard Lana [Music] so they get the late field goal right before the half and not much time after this kickoff for an answer from inside the 10yd line he'll bring it back coverage team there to make the stop they avoid disaster and that's the end of the first half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connors in our halftime update thanks fellas the end of a very entertaining first two quarters of football in kenesa and I get a lot of coaches will say the difference between winning and losing comes down to stopping big plays and getting big plays but if you ask me it's more about how good you are on third down and how efficient you are in keeping drives alive those two stats can help you break the will of even the best defenses and help you come out on top and with that let's send it back to the guys at Fifth Third Bank Stadium [Music] kenas State ready to kick it off to start things here in the second half he'll bring it back from inside his five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 here comes the Louisiana offense onto the field they'll open the second half with a run they'll knock him down after a pick up of one to the 18 this offensive line better figure out a plan for this dtack if he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last didn't get much on first down it's second and nine the give to the back out across the 20 to the 21 yd line a three yd gain at the 21 y it's third down a third and long coming up [Music] here dropping back it's Fields starting to feel a little pressure runs through the tackle and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop four the Raging cun will call on their punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll settle for some pretty good field position and make the fair catch at around the 35 guys we're about to see this Kennesaw State offense go back to work quarterback on the keeper pass the sticks in still on his feet finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down dude when you got a guy like this that can just hit the gas and go pick up 15 plus yards what a luxury how nice is it to have a quarterback like that when I'm a tail back when I can send the tail back One Direction quarterback the other direction this guy's just got so much speed the offense lines up at the 40 they've got a first down he wants to throw catch in the middle it's Wallace obliterates him still on the move and he was just a couple of steps away from taking that one even further after the catch Slants against man that wide receiver has to win right now right now at the line of scrimmage against that DB play and man coverage quarterback timing with the wide receiver put it on the money wide receiver is probably still going to get hit too and got to hold on to that thing looking to go up top on first down and the pass it'sit picked off didn't get a ton on the return but they've got it inside the 20th to 19 yd line well the defense came into this one knowing they needed to create takeaways to try to gain as much momentum as they could really nice interception on that play great job with the Eyes by the defender there picking that off Louisiana has it back and the Raging cinjun offense headed to the field man oh man these offenses just haven't been able to find any room to get things going David and to quote the great philosopher reys Davis this is very UNG good just nothing working for this offense Palmer they got to find something well the plays look good against the scout team during the week in practice but they have just not been able to find a rhythm against this defense today got three on first down it's second and seven they'll move the running back to try to force the defense to adjust nice move to stay on his feet he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down in these touch passes it's so hard because there's always action off of it right if I fake this pass and I can run it up the gut or I can throw it and I just spread me out and make me defend so many things and you could tell they got on the edge quickly got the big first down on the move it's Washington at the 45 on it way defense on skates that time they finally drag him down at the 42 those outside runs if they can get the edge like they do great job by the Right Guard right tackle getting the edge and now what does this do this makes cornerbacks come up and Tackle safeties come up and Tackle as opposed to linebackers and big defensive players you get your guy out in space where he can use his speed and his physicality against guys that usually cover and don't come up and make tackles they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well they're trying to get that run play going to the outside but it's the defensive end he does a great job winning his one-on-one and forcing the negative [Music] play lost one on that last one it's second and 11 from the gun give on the inside and a nice solid pick up there before the defense wrestles him to the ground third down [Applause] coming they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete tell you what I don't know if the offense was expecting man coverage that time third and long and field goal range you're expecting it to be Zone instead they lock him up manto man everybody on an island everybody W to get the incompletion Now setting him for and the Raging cun will send out the punt unit and the ball will bounce at the four and find it way into the end zone for a Touchback guys we'll get another look at this Kennesaw State offense wants to throw on first down off the play fake going up top how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion man this quarterback is living dangerously right now obviously he threw a pick on the last Drive he's trying to complete that throw but the defender gets a hand on it tips it up in the air that's oh no that is an oh no situation they're lucky that one hit the ground still at their own 20 after that last incompletion it's second and 10 didn't have much of a choice there but to get rid of [Music] it not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 to throw oh it's Bryson looking to scramble he'll P it down on the move at the 30 and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there that's going to do it for the quarter guys Louisiana has the lead here theyve built a cushion they've got a nice lead now the task is finish the deal as you take a look at the third quarter steps one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the Victory kenas State coming out with another first down just sort of a Relentless run getting everything that was available to him and they'll Mark him down at the 40 coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four off the play fake he's got the back in the middle and the completion gives him a fresh set of downs and keeps this drive moving I just love quarterbacks that aren't greedy and that aren't always trying to throw the Home Run ball right second down you're in your own end of the field the guy you want to throw to is not open just find the back he'll go do something positive with it this guy is a weapon and you got to find him in the passing game they'll go to the ground they'll pick up four second and Six coming it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot after the productive first down play it's second and six he's looking to throw and boy was that pressure in his face immediately down he goes often times with play action you're asking the quarterback to hold onto the ball a bit longer and you're asking this offensive line to hold up and pass Pro a bit longer against this athletic front seven on defense it's going to be tough seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down to the air it's Bryson feeling some heat and the pressure is coming in and they get him again and that's a great job by the defense not letting that bird out of the cage when you can run like this guy can you got to keep the edge did a great job he went backwards retreated gave up some ground they didn't give up the outside got the sack on the play kenesa state will have to putt this one away to kick it [Applause] away running it back it's Bernard returns like that and while you don't settle for the fair catch if you don't have to picks up just a little bit of yards to help out the O the handoff keep working on that clock he showed it all there a little elusiveness a little power and he's got the first down I I know exactly what I have to do here defensively we got to get the stop so we're playing run we're selling out to run because we're thinking they're going to run the football and we got three timeouts let's use them wisely let's use those timeouts save as much clock as we can so our offense has some time on the clock to do some damage when they get the football back they'll give it to him again solid fundamentals on that tackle from this front [Applause] [Music] [Music] you got to believe they just want to run it take care of the football and keep that clock moving on second and nine looking for room it's Washington and that's exactly what you would expect from this offense listen when you're in that one to two-minute range and you got the football and you got a lead it's Smashmouth it's keep that clock running its ground game so interesting now on this third down what they do next but we got to keep that clock moving they go to the draw breaks the tackle and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense the Raging cun will line up to punt it away and the punt will hit at the seven and they can Corral it it goes into the end zone it'll come out to the [Music] 20 they'll start this drive with a pass fires to the big fella they stay aggressive and push their way out to the 33 and it's first down and it was the defense that got this started right they were the ones who got the stop for the punt gave it back to the offense who now just picked up a nice completion you win as a team but give the defense credit for getting this thing going trying to get everybody set with the clock still running looking to pass it's Bryson just a short pass to the tight end and he might be known for run fits but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end this offense has their work cut out for him man because the coverage has been so tight and if you're not throwing to the sideline or you're not getting past the sticks this defense is going to tackle you inbounds like they just did on that last play and bleed the clock looking to throw on second down he's got it they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about defense and the defender just way too handsy on that last play you could see all the contact as the ball was in the air simply can't do it and the referee's caught it excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away how nice is it as a defense when you got a corner that can play on an island and be as dominant as this guy has been all game long we just saw another great example of it right there breaking on the ball and knocking it away and the incompletion brings up a second down for this offense he's looking to throw quarterback now breaking the field well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowh for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this drive got to get to the line quickly for this third down play from the gun wants to pass unleashes one it's caught and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play they get the timeout called 11 seconds remaining to play so this is going to be Rife with drama and overflowing with pressure on this field goal try the defense uses a timeout and we are down to 11 seconds left to play this for the lead and very likely the win split the uprights it's good they have taken the lead in the final seconds guys in the celebration has erupted on the sideline [Music] that last field goal put them on top they're feeling good but they can't relax yet have to cover this kickoff well here's the return from inside his T and the returner could find no daylight he goes down got to get everybody lined up quickly time winding away and they've got to push the ball down the field he wants a big play here late Falls incomplete they fought to the final whistle but that's going to do it tonight final score
