the field for the first time today and the adrenaline is pumping on over drive in games like this guys it's crucial to get your emotions under control no doubt rivalry games You' got to limit the mental You' got to Lim the penties those will kill you and you got to under control it so much know that the fans are all talking about it but it's just [Applause] football good job ch7 for bladon left and to keep from the first down Mar the punt team makes it way out the field sends his first one of the day on it way and that matches a number of appearences he had in that last week not able top the big return but they got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession so the Kentucky Wilds offense taking the field first chance we have to see them today one thing to watch can this guy get in the quarter and make Rush David dang Skippy that's what you want to do you want this guy a little bit more human and not as much of a game break the quarter get some prush hit he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country but he can't he's laying on his back this defensive end can put him there [Applause] off it's pretty obvious what's at stake here guys top 10 match up play in the [Applause] something to look at and go here's a top 10 win this is a big deal for my schedule big proving moment and that's why you play football for one of these two programs for games like this for the opportunity to reach the college football playoff you knew these two teams on Aion for that's the opportunity ahead of you to go get it done in front of a lot of eyballs Watch he got close to get a but he's got first down right first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back I love the push they got up front getting a hat on hat opening a huge and you become so hard to defend this is a game that will impact the college football playoff it will have Conference Championship implications it will have game implications as well David so much riding on the line this and you can especially at night time this crowd they get loud that's the way it's been so far but they have a nice drive to open it up they're able to execute to put themselves in field goal range kn the uprights they did exactly what they needed to do taking a 3 nothing lead here early on the row that's impressive so kick team out there ready to it away and he'll just this drive will start at the 25 Tennessee ready to go the bige offense on the field the last time we saw this off we had little quick was a three and out just had no win in that someone's [Applause] rack you want make Maxim the ball to theine he'll P it on smashes through sck inside his and the BS come to the line with a set of downs he to [Applause] throw they'll try left side he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that here comes a third down situation and the defense hasn't been able to slow them [Applause] down man Tennesse is like no way you're going to be us running back on the I like this guy's running back because he can run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it [Applause] all running back pushes ahead for pick up of down the they want to pick up this conversion and work goal they'll move the running back try to force the defense to adjust floats it out in space he's on but the first down so so close to cashing it in for this [Applause] offense bring him yard that just nothing doing on that last run they knew coming into this one they were going to be challenged right this is one of the best defenses in all of college football for them to have any shot they're going to have to do a lot better winning the football he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line in this defense is on it heels man the last thing you want after controlling the ball moving it down the field is to have to settle for a field goal attempt it's third and goal from the gun wants to pass he makes takes it to the volun that was an absolute Sledgehammer of the drive just taking the air out of the ball and it's hard when you run that many plays not make a mistake penties a bad spot the offense just strung play after play after play together and got and he takes this from inside the fo and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled Kentucky has it back in the Big Blue offense takes the field oh he drops the football he him right down the G of the field inad be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again they've got the screen set up they good by that set up the screen and Lan for their running time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line a little toes along that offensive line that'll be a false start so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty Line Get Set quarter on second down he'll let it fly a little screen to the running back they make the Stop and that's how the first quarter will end that's the end of the quarter and Tennessee has the lead and we the first as we take a moment to check out the stats so far ring as get behind this defense on third down L one deep down the right [Applause] what back he knows but watch the thr deep down the field Palmer right basket nice play and catch did a nice job getting it up in the air early and allowing his guy to run over the football located that is the definition of an explosive play and the extra point was good about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown and he's coming out of the end zone not nearly as much as he' when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 the volunteer offense is back they hope it's touchdown time in Tennessee really good balance on that last Drive they mix it up all over the place Jesse yeah oh no what was that though a little PR snap eye candy for the defense he makes the connection I tell you this slot receiver he really does give his quarterback a nice option runs really good rout he's got nice hands he saw [Applause] oning first Tennesse relying on the big physical backs like a Jamal Lewis and this guy fits the M guys just didn't want to tackle I mean guys looking deep down the right side and it was for a pass is incomplete this is where it's tough to play QB when to use Touch when to throw it hard he choos to put a little bit of touch on the ball and you probably a little too much touch theb was right there to make the play he didn't get the pick but obviously no the to throw on third down quickly to the tie down and they gave him no chance to get loose and they forc a fourth down and the field goal unit is on the field he 50 yd field goal showing off that powerful how nice is it as a head coach to have like this makes these decisions on fourth down so much easier just spr him out there and let him Str the after that tie things up just about Celtic kick it away again on the move from inside SP didn't find any in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Kentucky sends the offense back out on the field and David how they would love to stick it in the end zone one more time after that last drop and once you get the defense on the and you back them you get a little bit ofy it's really hard to stop and they're going to try to do it again if you're this play call you're L what's happening right now because everything you dialed up on that last Drive ended up working out you're just looking at your play sheet everything you're picking is working see if they can p off again here better find theug here comes the noise backing this defense on third down that was fast and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and move the chain wow what a great job on that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion percent if you're a great third team it's inv for success that's why team he carry people every offense wants to be able to run the ball and be physical especially on first down and you want to second third there's a by the defensive first down play R and they just dominated up front one force a tackle for he'll toss it a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop they have had to wear that beat down since the last time these two met Jesse they've been talking about it for a long time they were absolutely strong pass rush gets to the quarterback and get him at the 46 the defense coming up big there the sack is great but the secondary deserves some credit too no doubt when you can cover like that in the secondary and drop back in your Zone and only Rush a few and you feel comfortable getting home and get the quarter that is a great feeling and that's fun to be defensive the throw to the outside is complete a big be a first down that's a pretty impressive throw man that's given me P Manning to Peerless price memories back when I was watching them playing against them in college that was a thing of beauty right there there's a nice chemistry that this quarterback has with his group of wide receivers and you see that in the timing of these throws caught in the back field it's wol and the volunteers want to move quickly [Applause] they'll time yeah those 30 shorts defense plays aggressive loads the box one guy misses it ends up being a big game nice play by this off unload it left Mak a connection and he's brought down a nice game the is happening in college football this weekend Indiana is currently trailing in this one but it feels like the tide may be tur this program hased itself up before and it's capable of it again today that I know Kevin and those guys will be keeping an eye on it for us Williams will pass fires left it's complete there bring off chunks of yards they get to the 33 and there was no question in that scenario that's where the quarterback was going he knew he had his receiver in a match up that he liked running a route where he would find himself open nice [Applause] Jobing into the game the stats the field the way this game started you feel as if you have to score a touchdown every time you have it and now see if they can respond how much pressure that puts on the off Jesse like you know this is back and forth I got score every possession matters so much what does that do to you as a well it puts a lot more pressure on you for sure to feel like I got to make every third down can't let get broken will this the off they'll get a chance to regroup on the sideline good timing on the quick out they'll immediately call timeout line getting set on second down he's looking to throw they're Kevin in our time update and the balls will kick the second half here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Kentucky has it back in the Big Blue offense takes the field first drive in the second half always fun to watch to see what type of tweaks were made in the half especially when you're like it's been a good game I mean it's been a little bit and process and now what you get in the second half who's going to get aggressive call who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about these coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we going to find out here they'll line up for a second down play Williams looking for man they're setting up the screen they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down I tell you what if you want to be overzealous and you want to be a Blitzer all the time I like running the screen right behind him did a great job throwing the screen almost broke this one for a long game but it just keeps the defense a little bit more honest if you want to start bring a lot of pressure he guys and he was Off to the Races finally tripped up at the 36 and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down they bring him down he's going to lose a yard on that don't you love energetic defenses that fly around make things happen the ones that get in the back field running back tries to go some where do you want him to go there there is nowhere to go nice job by the defense great the tackle for a loss in the first down they make the stop but not before the screen has hit for a first he's actually do really good in quarterback game it's Yates and a really nice run and pick up there before the defense avoided disaster and stopped the really big play fans are bringing the noise on first and goal not much room he gets one down to the seven they're strong and they're strong defensive tackles they're strong there's such big jokers in the mo where they just lock out those offensive linemen and running backs listen they don't have much of a chance when you got that 300 plus PB guy grabbing you around the shoulder pad you tend to go to the ground pretty quickly third and goal coming up here from the gun wants to pass touch down Kentucky they with the six that's his third touchdown pass of the day the defense has no CL how to respond right and the defense has absolutely no's on making the right decisions and just caring this defense [Applause] up on to attempt to try and the extra point is they're on top there 83 Y and they close the deal up to seven Y for the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown and it'll come out to the 25 no attempt at a return the Vol off is back and they hope it's touchdown time in Tennessee wide receiver coming across in motion wants to throw on first down out play F it's complete [Applause] to we'll see how this goes the SL he can go either direction you can get him matched up on somebody that's not as fast and you watch he can run away from those linebackers or save he damn it's becoming a war out here we got we know what is at stake going up top on first down right down the middle he ground and it's now the second time this wide receiver has scored another outstanding job with the rout great job securing the catch he'll try to tack on one [Applause] more and they did make the extra point and we have a tie ball game 10 he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 Kentucky sends the offense back out onto the field Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing a match and play call really well nice balance on that last one day let's see what they can do here this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep your pace keep it going On The Run it's G and he's got up for the first down it'll be at the 35 this is a guy that can find you the hidden yardage that play he just pushes the pile to get that first in ball at the 35 it's first and 10 he's looking to throw it setting up the screen well the offense trying to get the screen pass to the running got and get him out into space to do some damage for the defense not having no gain on that [Applause] play he got a good one going here all TI the thirdd second and [Applause] 10 Williams will pass makes the grab over the middle he's brought down solid pick up onum the first down I don't think that was a b he's doing a job ining the coverage getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great wi and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of the look that they got they wer successful and now it's Fourth and short ter who knows what they're going to do here's the fair Catch and he'll make it get close to the 20yd line Tennessee ready to go to work the Big Orange offense on the field how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense get a stop and now it's up to them in a tie game all right so through the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best matchups and best Playmakers to take advantage of this golden opportunity yeah and I'm interested to see this defense too like the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back make a big play do you be more aggressive here to try to get the football back to your offense and you know the stand is explosive [Applause] play moving the running back forcing the defense to adjust and that pass will be on second down that brings up third down they line up with some serious work to do they want to convert this on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air oh good defense see on that return but he hands this off a short field at the 35 not all DBS make the play at the end right they can back the ball down they can be in position but they don't really secure the football great job by the DB securing [Applause] the well they've got the lead the defense just did their part getting the takeways now if they on offense you want to run the ball and take as much time as possible between snaps stay in bounds and let this block take away he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience bounce that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards big third down as the crowd Gets behind this defense got it set up on the outside they play that screen nicely he tried to find his way to the marker but it'll be fourth down so here we are on fourth down in this field goal kick the face called The things a quarterback can have David shortterm memory just forget that last pick you D clear the mechanism it's over move behind some players can't do that real well and it leads to more mistakes Jesse you got to just forget about it and move on and I think the coaching staff can help him too D I think get the running game going here and also give him some easy throws the give to the back they will move the change after he gets it to the 43 yd line and the ball is moving quickly to the line I know Jesse and Reese could call offensive plays for any team if they're having this much success on the ground it starts with a ground game right like you can chew up these kind of plays then I can play action later on and take shots but right now defense is first got to stop the run game shoot quick release on the RP and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one it's third down now they ought to be able to get off one more qu before the two-minute warning a n interception 49 on first down here comes this offense smart move to keep it on the ground solid fundamentals on that tackle from this fresman defense uses the timeout quickly trying to get that b back and preserve time their offense they'll be perfectly cont to go right back to the ground here on second and eight and the defense makes the stop after a minimal game the offense will quickly use a timeout they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here takes a hand off it's Yates and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say Country Strong they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out the mid of those big Bo Tennessee ready to go to work the Big Orange offense on the field these are the games these are the moments this is the opportunity for the finish that people remember in robberies like this one and those highlights that are shown for years and years to come these Big Time moments Paul coming down to the wire who steps up and makes the big time play and this is why you lift the weights in the off SE through all the gers and all theint for moments like this game on the line in one of the biggest games of the year not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long back up inside their 20 oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down no hesitation at all the offense stays on the field they'll go for it he'll go on top maybe a deciding play here incomplete four down and man they need to keep that driive Kentucky has it back and the big blue offense takes the field one possession game getting late first order of business just take care of the football so they call this situation 4minute offense where you're trying to run the football and throw high percentage passes to maintain possession and believe the clock this is a very difficult point of the game to execute high level yeah and listen what you understand as an offense is if I get one or got some the boy they need that score a little a trying to put a stop to this two game slot late the games offenses sometimes get conservative when they got the lead and they got the ball I love this offense they were aggressive they got another score added to the lead now you're trying to Salt this game away [Applause] and he passes on the touch back here stopped at the probably second guing that return the volunteer offense is back and they hope it's touchdown time in Tennessee at Fourth Down gamble didn't pay off on the last drive and it led to giving up a scoring Drive D yeah and everybody wants to go for everybody want that but your defense sometimes has to bail out your decision making decided to go for it we didn't get it the def yes it didn't come up big and provve me right yeah not complimentary football no doubt this offense has been in these situations before so you got to come back out here take the field it's a fresh set of downs brand new Drive let's go out next put some points on the board he's going to pass on second down he's taking a deep shot late in the game makes a catch on the catch now on thear and he got away from the and no shot catching and list is still the ways to go a great job by this offense getting you back in the ball game now we got a one possession game we got our score we didn't we supposed to do now how do we get this stop now the defense has to come up big and get me the defense uses their second time out of the half as they try to get their ass together just over a minute the BL they ling up for an onside kicker trying to P off this round he's able to grab the football in the hands team gets the job done the offense calls timeout and they won't have any more left this half defense showing plenty of pre-nap movement of their own happy with the situation the quarterback will take a KNE
