2024 College Football Season Preview: Can Ohio State Football Win it ALL?

it is Friday August 23rd and we're back at yogis Menace Army oh it feels so good to be back and you know why it feels so good to be back because we have college football tomorrow tomorrow Florida state Georgia Tech in Ireland so not here so I guess technically in this country we don't have college football tomorrow but doesn't somebody know somebody play here tomorrow yeah there's a Temple or gonna ask you about your Ohio State story lines at some point today but just generally speaking because it's like the big 12 is a mess no no is going to win that conference um the Big 10 in Michigan obviously we're waiting on the sanctions over there we got the ACC is Miami back will it be Florida state will it be Clemson do you have a favorite storyline this year I think my my favorite storyline it's not a storyline but it's my favorite thing every year right there's all this Clarity when no one's played a game no snaps it's this Clarity because you listen to all these shows and they tell you like oh Georgia's got the number one dline in the country and the Carson Beck's the number one overall pick and Georgia's it's gonna be Georgia Ohio State Ohio State Oregon are gonna play in the Big 10 championship game they have all these takes and they take out of account what has happened for eight months yeah like players get coached they get developed some players work harder than others some cultures come together better than others and so all this conviction that Georgia and Ohio State are gonna play for the title you're like how the [ __ ] do you know what Georgia did like what are you talking about I just saw today Georgia has like four D lineman that are out with with significant injuries like what if they lose to Clemson what are you gonna say then I'm going to be very upset if lose the CLS I know I don't want him to lose the say like of all the things you could have said I did not want you to say that I guess hey they got the injury bum they play Clemson in a week I don't think they're going to lose to Clemson I'm not saying that but that's my favorite is the kind of realization because college football sports media creates conviction like when you turn on Florida State Georgia Tech everyone in this bar knows Florida State's gonna win until they [ __ ] don't and then people lose their [ __ ] mind they're like oh my God AB State beat Michigan shout out to AB State we love AB state no for me it's it's kind of similar um I'm really interested in two things first of all Bama has been the hunted in the SEC for years now they're not now it's Georgia Georgia's kind of been I mean they they multiple titles of course but it's always been B's conferen that's how that's how I felt but now with a new coach I do wonder what bam is gonna look like and then I've been saying this for several months Zach in the ACC this dju Revenge Redemption story cuz he was the one that got blamed for the fall off not the coaches it was all his fault he got replaced he was a bust he was a bust he he was a bust and it was his fault I guess yeah yeah but was it really his fault because Kate kumnick was supposed to be the Savior and they have it looked much better and now he's not only back in the ACC but he's at the one school that can beat you if you're Clemson in the ACC in that state I think that's my favorite storyline is the dju Redemption tour and I I do think the ACC has a unique situation where in my opinion the top two teams Miami and Florida State both have transfer quarterbacks right so you got Clemson is the third best team in the ACC like preseason power R all because of Deo okay I mean just I I I think dabo's absolutely [ __ ] terrible like I think he's awful he was a great coach when he had a great staff before college football changed right now college football changed he lost all his great coaches and he's showing his ass yeah he's been he's been really bad but you know it's funny because I think this could pull the best out of him and and I think that there is a a situation where Clemson ends up being very good if Dabo takes the choice to actually learn from his mistakes and not be prideful because they got the pieces there like they've got decent receivers you don't believe that they've got well here's the piece that they have that is an easy flip for Dabo to make leave Garrett Riley the [ __ ] alone right and that's the that's the thing we already saw this Clemson was four and four and and dbo was asked what is it about Garrett Riley's offense that's and he said whoa who whoa whoa whoa there's no Garrett Riley's offense Garrett Riley came here to run the Clemson offense and the minute he said that I said you're a [ __ ] clown you're done you're cooked like you there's a clear problem you're four and four at Clemson you've been more talented than every team you lost to and you're gonna still stand on business like your business just [ __ ] went under you filed for bankruptcy bub give it up well that's the one though like if he does make the adjustment that's the team that could be scary because they do have a good talent compos they do recruit well they do have the five-star quarterback and they have the is there his pride and ego get out of the way super important never let your pride and ego stop you from from never never let go ahead preach go ahead preach I was gonna say some [ __ ] but I'm I'm I'm I'm back to normal so those are my those are my two favorite story lines but I and I'm excited obviously about Georgia Tech I mean if we're being honest and I know this is going to be biased my favorite storyline is Will Howard yeah well because I know it's will how I mean that's that's my favorite storyline and also like these lights are bright I might have to I there Notre Dame yeah the Notre Dame people keep telling me they have good skill position not sure how real that is but if they open it up I mean the play calling last year was great at LSU was it not Notre Dame is just C Miami oh every year like High Hopes got a quarterback going to be great then they go play a good team and you're like nope Touchdown Jesus gotcha you're still Notre name like you're still Notre name cycle through all these coaches Lou Holtz Brian Kelly like all these great quarterbacks Brady Quinn Sam oh remember Sam Hartman's coming he's Notre Dame's back yeah what they did to him was criminal but you lost a marshall that's disrespectful to Notre Dame to call them Catholic Miami they're Miami they've been to the playoffs and they don't I'm saying like like Miami
