all right we should be live thank you everyone for tuning in and um yeah welcome to the coverage for the Italian Grand Prix free practice 3 session free practice 3 is starting in 30 minutes time currently on the screen we have the free practice 2 standings and uh well we have a little bit to talk about well not actually a little bit we have quite a lot to talk about of course there has been the news has broke about 2 hours ago that Mercedes have signed kimy Antonelli to be their driver for next year in the in the Mercedes car which is fantastic of course um good to give a rookie a chance but it it's you know it's a very very tough decision so let's wait and see what will uh you know what will come of it uh how well will he do at the pressure of being a top team you know in his first year of his career I think pastri had a very similar scenario McLaren weren't exactly a top top team at that point in time but they were they were getting there and um yeah you get obviously put under the Limelight he's going to be compared to George Russell who is very very quick we know we've seen him in his Williams days he was you know known as Mr Saturday always put in a brilliant qualifying performance and then got promoted to Mercedes was matching Lewis Hamilton maybe even doing a little better than him on certain occasions so yeah it's going to be it's going to be tough for Kim Antonelli but I think Toto wolf believes in him I think the team will also believe in him and uh it should work out well all right thank you everyone for tuning in by the way we got 200 people already folks if you haven't hit the like button be sure to do so it really does help out the channel at the start of the live stream um but uh yeah let's get into uh what else have we got to talk about of course Franco kapino he has had his debut fb1 session wfb2 session and of course he'll be taking part in his first race this weekend in Formula 1 so we'll see we'll see what he can do and um yeah it's going to be interesting I think that he you know the team is going to be very cautious uh not to like push him far too hard otherwise there will be mistakes that starts creeping especially considering he has not got that much mileage in a Formula 1 car um you don't want to be pushing him too hard I think in qual today he'll probably be giving the toe to Alex Alon he'll be acting as a second driver because they know Alon could probably make it into Q three uh rather than uh cabino but yeah let's see what will happen um we have got the the data analysis from what's happened in yesterday's practice so let's have a look through those timings and see you know which team looks to be on the top it looks like McLaren is on the top with McLaren with Red Bull being on10th behind and Ferrari and Mercedes being two10 behind um but you know all of these things change up U you know track temperature will be slightly different today and the tow will be slightly different so we'll have to wait and see Evan gam what do you think about Sergeant going to NASCAR I don't know if that's been confirmed or anything but I think that uh you know if he does go to NASCAR be be a good thing um he'll be a quick driver of course NASCAR is definitely a totally different challenge to Formula 1 uh where the cars basically never hit the braks the entire race uh and the main aim of the game is slipstream past everyone else um but yeah I'm sure he'll be I'm sure he'll do great won't he do you think Ferrari has a chance for poll today uh yeah I do think they I think they do they have had a fantastic set of upgrades a massive set of upgrades and they've actually worked out well uh there's been no by the looks of it no sort of correlation issues no sort of issues in bouncing or anything like that and they're actually doing quite well so I suspect by uh you know when they get to qual they'll turn up the engine mode a little bit given that it is their home race and maybe we will see um some very quick times coming out of the Ferrari du um that's what I'm expecting but um who knows it's a little bit tough to predict what Ferrari will do it's a little bit tough to predict what anything will happen to be honest given how close the field is and there's always you know the top five drivers only split by 2 t0 of a second or so across the majority of qualifying sessions uh it's extremely difficult to predict what is actually going to happen and who's going to come out on top um but you know we can try our best and we can enjoy the competition did you see the Kim news what do you all think yeah indeed we did an Italian driver in 2025 kimy Antonelli of course it's his home race as well uh where he where he got announced to be driving for Mercedes and of course he debuted in his fp1 session as well but he did have that crash I think the I think the person that decided that kimy Antonelli was going to go out and immediately do hot laps is probably to blame there um you know you're the rookie driver had no experience in this this year's Formula 1 cars and especially at Monza where you have the smallest downforce package of the allall so the car is not as grippy as it would be at Monaco or Singapore or Suzuka um yeah they sent him out and said oh why don't you do some hot laps wasn't the smartest IDE but it is what it is yeah which team do you think has the strongest driver lineup for 2025 well uh I'd say Ferrari has got Hamilton and lur so if we're going off pure experience and Pace I'm going to give that to Ferrari yeah Hamilton very very quick driver of course and Charles Lua is no slouch um yeah Red Bull of course have got the Sten but then they've also got Perez which bit of a compromis Lando nor and P asri both of them aren't all that experienced compared to L clur and uh and Hamilton so yeah I'm just going to say lar and Hamilton are probably the best driver Duo next yeah it's good that youngsters have been given a chance uh but my only opinion is I don't think George is ready to be number one in the team well I don't know I think George Russell will be the kind of driver that will step up to the challenge probably at this current moment in time um you know he's been sitting in leis Hamilton Shadow for a bit um but when the time comes I think George Russell will be the driver that is able to step up and make those changes to the way he approaches things and the way he goes about dealing with the team so uh yeah and also talking of youngsters and rookies I think that uh quite a lot of the team principles are are supporting the fact that the drivers could have a rookie race after the end of the season in Abu dhab be um I think that the drivers you know the team the team principles are supporting the idea but what they're suggesting is that the rookie drivers from Formula 2 they get a drive in the Formula 1 cars they you know they get to do the whole sort of race start dealing with the lap one incidents and then all of these other things um and the rookie drivers really get an opportunity to shine and sort of show off their skills rather than just being in Formula 2 they get some real racing experience in Formula 1 on and it gives him some some more mileage as well which is great to uh you know great to see so if that happens at the end of the year I might even be commentating that as well all right uh yeah sup hello everyone in the chat uh yeah 450 people already that is fantastic um yeah so let's just get back to the qualifying stuff um the saas look very quick in a straight line in fact if you look at our all of the team's different setups for and the setups SL circuit specific upgrades that they've brought at Monza for the low down force uh characteristics of the circuit uh saber have gone the most extreme by the looks it they have gone for the smallest front Wing the smallest um the smallest like T tray uh they've gone from a two two like I don't know two structural supports for the rear wing down to one like they have minimized all of the drag they possibly can on that saba and they are an absolute rocket ship in a straight line that's why we were seeing VAR botas going up into first and second position yesterday in the free practice sessions because the Saba is so quick in a straight line yeah do you think Sal Audi is going to be an improvement over Saba uh yeah I think they are I think Saba haven't brought um that many General upgrades this year and they've probably put more Focus onto completely redeveloping redesigning the car for next year and of course they'll be taking into account um all of the changes that the Red Bull and the Ferraris and the Mercedes and the McLaren are making and then try to sort of copy and emulate them um because you know it's a lot easier to emulate something that's already been done rather than coming up with it yourself and uh yeah all right um what is a speech TR on the long straight uh let me have a look at the speed trap speeds folks uh in fact I think I'll just get them up on the screen um I'm just going to be messing around with a couple of settings here folks uh so just bear with me for a second speed trap speed all right save there we go and we have got the speed trap speeds there on the left hand side of the screen oh no we want the best speed trap speeds apologies for that um right let me change that for this is what happens when you do things on the Fly probably not the most optimal uh best speed TR speed apply very nice all right um so yeah let me just get those speeds up and get everything aligned all right um yeah there we go we have got the speed trap speeds coming through um and as you can see uh the quickest in a straight line was Franco colapinto but he did have a pretty major toe on that lap um yeah all right let me just adjust everything else move that up a little bit all right fantastic so we've got the speed traps as well pretty important at this circuit so we might as well add that to our data set what is your prediction for Pole today um oo I'm going to go with one of the Ferraris not that I actually think one of the Ferraris is going to get on poll I just want one of the Ferraris to get onto poll that would be fantastic um but I don't know um it's it's too hard to predict with uh with two t0 in between all of the drivers I mean look at that just in for practice the top five drivers are within a 10th and a half of each other so uh I think in qualifying it's going to be even closer why are the changes to the curbs uh I'm not sure why they made the changes to the curbs uh of course in 2021 there was that incident where um max for stappen mounted a curb and then got launched on top of of Lewis Hamilton and uh well they were resurf resurfacing the track anyway so they decided oh we'll make some changes to the track and uh yeah they made those changes they made the curbs a little bit flatter the driver aren't particularly pleased you lose a bit of the character of Monza so if we talk about specifically at the second chicane there were quite a few quirks at the second chicane on the apex of the second Corner in the chicane there was a little drain cover and you if you got your tire into that drain cover you the car would sort of rotate around it and you'd get a bit of extra Pace on the exit of the second chicane there was this concrete strip with gravel to the left and a curb to the right and if you could get the car onto that concrete script you would get a lot more lap time and a lot more grip so the drivers had this very fine balance of not driving on the curbs not driving on the gravel and just driving over that very narrow concrete strip um but all of that that drain cover the the the concrete strip all of that has been removed and it's just been now replaced with flat curbs and the drivers are saying well it's a lot easier to cut the corner now and you've also removed some of the difficulty and the quirks of the monzer circuit so yeah that's uh you know that's sometimes the way things go maybe they'll revert the changes but um that's not happening this weekend I can tell you that for sure removing all sausage curbs across grade one tracks is under active discussion because the number of serious incidents to drivers Marshals and Spectators yeah um yeah the the sausage curbs they probably that's the thing sausage curbs are a bit difficult uh a bit of a difficult topic you know say at Abu Dhabi or at Austria sausage curbs they were quite big there and they were obviously having quite a big impact on uh on the result of things and and the drivers and the and they were damaging the cars effectively but um those were fairly medium to SL highspeed corners on the exit of Abu Dhabi I think on the exit of turn number 19 at Abu Dhabi there was a sausage curb and on the exit of turn number one at Austria there was a sausage curb and um those curbs are on the exit of highp speed Corners that makes them a little bit dangerous whereas you know at Monza you're at the chicane you're driving only 70 km per hour um and you could probably get away with assasa being there um but yeah uh you know it was a decision made by the FIA so I'll have to wait and see all right uh Daniel Ricardo please a good quality result yeah well Daniel Ricardo in fact he's being uh not prioritized by the alpat tyi team a little bit this weekend um Yuki Coda has actually got more upgrades uh he's got the most recent upgrade package that alatar have to offer they're testing out a couple new parts on his car um it has affected the balance of the car so that's why he Pro probably was a little bit slower yesterday they were still fine-tuning the setup to maximize all of the pace from the tires and uh and the car but yeah sonoda got a couple of the upgrades and Daniel Ricardo does not have them um yeah not not great to be honest not ideal all right what does speed trap mean it's a it's a speed camera effectively um but you don't get a fine for going too fast um that's all it is uh the drivers uh go down the main straight and just before they hit the brakes there's a speed trap to monitor their speed and it gives us some information on who is the who's the quickest down the streets who's who's got a toe who hasn't all of those things um yeah I think I might even change the speed trap speeds from best just to current because in qual for example we'll know or or even in practice we'll know who's using the soft TI like you know who's using DRS who's got a bit of a toe on that single lap because we don't need to know the best necessarily uh ideally what we'd want to know is what the drivers have got on that current lap um what is the air temperature similar to yesterday I think it is similar to yesterday we'll have the data coming through in 5 minutes time 10 minutes before the start of the session r/ hyro say long time no see questions do you think Mercedes decision to sign Kim Anoni is wise I mean it's it's a bold decision and I will only you know if Kim anony does well then I'll say oh yeah great choice by totto wolf and if he does terribly then I'll be like oh not not such a smart idea we told you so um it's uh it's tough to say I think given that he he's had such a quick rise through the ranks it's very similar to what Max for Sten did kimy Antonelli he won the European carting championship in 2021 won he won the Formula 4 in 2022 he won formula Renault in 2023 and now in 2024 he's competing in Formula 2 and in 2025 he's driving in Formula 1 so a very quick progression very similar to Max for Sten so if you to compare it to Max you'd be like oh yeah I think it's a good choice um but yeah I think it's a little risky um if I were Toto wolf what I would have you know what my best uh what I would have done is in instead of having Franco colapinto driving in the Williams team I think Toto wol probably should have paid Williams some some money and said oh we'll pay you some money but as long as you let uh kimy anony drive for the last nine races of the season and then you know you can judge uh kimy anon's performance off two or three races rather than just his formula 2 performances so um I think the decision will probably work out all right for Mercedes I just think that the way they've gone about doing it is probably not the best um yeah do we know if basri has the full upgrade package now he didn't have the full package in Zan what did he uh I think M I think both McLaren normally get the upgrade package at the same time um McLaren are pretty good in scheduling their upgrade packages I know for for certain they'll have the same upgrade package this weekend um I don't know about last weekend but um yeah I think they they had the same yeah all right um oh we've got 700 think McLaren are looking well if you know if you look back at last weekend Lando Norris by 22 seconds if he hadn't lost the race lead at you know going into turn number one he probably would have won the race by 30 seconds like absolutely wild how much Pace that the McLaren had um pastri he will have a little bit but more experience at this circuit he's driv up Monza before in Formula 2 and in Formula 3 so pastri should be should be a little bit quicker compared to Lando noris than he was last weekend and um yeah I think uh you know a onew for McLaren is on the cards but then you know the same could be said for Ferrari their upgrades are working incredibly well and you know one or two mishaps for McLaren a slow pit stop here and there and it could be a onew for Ferrari it's uh it's it's far too close to say um yeah I think he was missing out on the front wing and the side pods impressive how Oscar performed too oh all right um well um well yeah he'll have the same upgrade package for this weekend it's pretty necessary that you have the same upgrade package as your teammate at Monza because it's a totally different car package like you have the low down Force rear wing the low down Force front Wing um yeah it's uh yeah they'll have the same upgrades for sure oh the race before zanol okay well that seems seems a bit more accurate because the race before zanol was Belgium and that they brought a bunch of upgrades that weekend I think all right thanks love your content no worries no worries so close to 100K yeah we are uh pretty close I think if today we'll be able to hit 93k um if you guys do subscribe then um maybe 95k tomorrow and then we'll see if we can hit 100K yeah maybe 95 maybe 96k tomorrow uh it all depends on how exciting the race is and how many people subscribe so uh yeah all right I think the fp3 data should come through now uh yeah there we go all right let's get rid of the fp2 data um all righty um and in fact let me just change that I'm going to change it to the current speed trap speed uh we don't really need the best speed trap speed um all right there we go and let's get rid of that brilliant uh tur temperature 43° and temperature 31° so a slightly colder than yesterday yesterday we were having temperatures of 50° air temp 50° track temperature 33° air temperature so temperatures a little bit lower um and we suspect that the degradation is going to be quite a bit lower uh we saw some of the team principles talk about uh very high degradation yesterday when track temperatures are up at 50° so if you know on Sunday if we do have 50° track temper richer we could have quite a bit of tire wear uh and maybe even a TW stop strategy um oh I just got to add uh whoops uh let me I forgot to disable the adverts again um thank you for letting me know um all right oky does uh let me just get that all lined up very nice uh we'll have the team radios on the right hand side of the screen as usual 7 minutes till we get underway for Q uh fp3 sorry not Q3 uh let me check when qualifying will begin qualifying will start in [Music] um 3 and a half hours 3 hours and 38 minutes warmup issue could be uh for the Merks but also should help the likes yeah I don't know what Mercedes were were Mercedes were having a couple of issues yesterday but yeah do you have a menu option with the driver's full names uh I do have an option for that but unfortunately it'll take up far too much screen space and if I if I have the full names for the drivers then uh I have to shrink all of the text and then it makes it's harder for people who are on mobile um to to read all of it to read everything so uh this is the way things are unfortunately uh it's just a bit of a compromise between the people you know that are watching on their computers and the people watching on their TVs and the people that are watching on their phones the seat are hot all the time yeah I think George Russell and leis hton both were complaining about the seat being too hot but um well we'll just have to wait and see if they Rectify those issues I don't know how they would Rectify them um maybe their solution is just to put a little bit of ice cold water in the seat before they sit down and hopefully it cools down by uh hopefully it stays cold for for the practice session I think it's a little bit cooler today as well uh that should help out also uh wind wind is 2 and a half kmers not very strong whatsoever the drivers won't have to contend with that as much yeah yes it's the hotest point of the day so it should just be after the session finishes so the data they get now will be probably important for Quality yeah indeed it will well I think they may start doing their hot laps immediately in fact um to just get the lowest possible track temps uh because it will be fairly similar track temperatures to what qualifying will be like kimy really had the Mercedes Hot Seat indeed he did um oh well I think kimy had a you know he had his he had his chance and he's got his seat anyway so it doesn't really matter if he's crashed in for fp1 or if he hasn't Okie does uh five now till we get underway let's have uh A continuing look through the simulation data from qualifying uh the slowest team does look to be the Alpine out of all of the drivers we know Alpine they are 15 to 20 horsepower down compared to everyone else on the straights this is Monza where the straights are the biggest part of the circuit Alpine probably aren't going to have a good weekend today but or a good qualifying session but uh you know we'll wait and see if we have a look at the race Pace simulations uh it is ridiculously close and honestly tomorrow's race is going to be fantastic right so just have a look at this I'm just going to read out all of the data here Red Bull Ferrari McLaren and Mercedes all of them are within one tenth of each other in race Pace one tenth of a second in simulated race pace which is spectacular to be honest um tomorrow's race we've got a longer DRS Zone going down the main straight so slip streaming and overtaking is going to be easier the drivers will make their way side by side we had a bit of issues last year um because the driv has run such narrow and small front wings at Monza the DRS doesn't have that big of an impact normally the drivers gain you know say 15 to 20 kilm per hour by opening the DRS flap say at Monaco or at Suzuka or something like that but at Monza because they're already running such small rear Wings they only gain maybe seven eight kilm from the DRS flap and um because the DRS zone is now a little bit longer it should mean the drivers will be side by side to each other Com when they go into turn number one rather than behind each other and we're going to have some some great great racing tomorrow uh cannot wait all right and the qualifying as well if the race pace is that close how who knows how close the qualifying is going to be it could be you know it could be decided by milliseconds to be honest um yeah the heat generator from the car scraping on the bottom goes straight to the driver yeah mon layout me the car strop scrapes ground a lot indeed yeah uh I don't know I think there is a a a couple of insulating layers between the the floor and the the driver but um nonetheless there is heat coming from somewhere outside of the engine I'm sure the engine is also running very hot at Monza the the teams do turn up the engine a little bit more because they do want to get as much power out of it as possible the engine could be running a little a little hotter it was very sunny yesterday in Monza um I think a bunch of factors contributing to the drivers overheating a little bit okay 300 people tuned into to live stream that is fantastic folks hope you are enjoying the coverage 2 minutes now till we have the drivers exit the pit Lane and we'll have some practice for you very very shortly it seems that I think that we should be getting some hot laps as soon as the drivers come out onto the track um the drivers will also be managing their setups a little bit uh they will have done some setup changes overnight especially Yuki sonoda um he's got some upgrade packages and I think Ferrari as well they'll have a couple of setup tweaks that they'll want to be checking out um yeah oky does here we are then at Monza round number 16 of of 24 in this Formula 1 Calendar we have got the C5 the C4 and the C3 from pelli the soft medium and the hard respectively and um here we are for practice three um the circuit of course got two DRS zones known as the Temple of spear the drivers are on throttle for around about 70% of the lap and um well top speeds reaching 360 km an hour the toosi are out in full force in the ground stands they are cheering and waving for for the uh for the Ferrari drivers hopefully they can do something great today um but let's wait and see all right by the way you had more viewers on in P2 than BBC had on their radio coverage Bravo oh fantastic I don't know how do you find out uh how many as the BBC had um because that would be you know that'd be quite nice actually if I could if I could call up the BBC and be like oh I've got more viewers than you could I could I come on the BBC um I think that would be that' be that'd be pretty nice um but yeah if you could let me know Ben uh then that would be fantastic all right um but here we go free practice is about to get underway very very soon we'll have the team radios from the drivers on the right hand side of the screen um but not long till we get out on to uh to get some running on the track all right honestly have to say whenever I can't see a session on TV I love watching your stream mate good job very much is appreciated Dennis thank you very very much all right we got Charles lir putting on his Bal laava uh and his helmet will be going on very very soon as well the driver is Championship we have got 70 points in between Ven and Norris um there is a there's a chance that we could see Norris potentially compete for the championship I think there' have to be a couple things go his way like Max firstapp and getting a dnf Lando Norris winning the race um that would certainly help um but in terms of the Constructor Championship Red Bull are really struggling and it seems like McLaren is going to usurp them and uh there we go green flag at the end of the pit Lane and the time has started ticking and we've got one of the drivers coming out onto the track um there we go VY botas new Jo um Russell's car is fixed it was fixed at the end it was fixed halfway through fp2 um yeah I was using the BBC sport app simultaneously it shows the listener uh shows The Listener count at the top oh that's fantastic all right um well I'll see I'll see if I can uh find uh someone in the BBC's phone number or email or something uh and ask them but um yeah all right uh both botash and zo go out on sets of hard tires I think they'll be trying to gather some long run data here if they're going out on hards because uh well it'll be useful for the race given that track temperatures have been exceedingly High it will be uh you know it will be some good information good data on how those tires wear out and how they don't does all right um Ricardo coming out as well let's have a look on which tires that Ricardo is out on [Music] um yeah Ricardo also out on a set of hard tires looks like everyone is coming out on a set of hard tires a little bit strange I would have expected some hot laps but maybe we'll be getting that at the end of fp3 normally that is something that we see happens the drivers start their buildup procedure to qualifying um and they and they slowly start building up the pace and taking more and more risks um yeah all right uh I'm going to have a quick sip of water I'll be back in just a second all right um botas comes into the pits uh and I think Joe will be coming into the pits as well it seems like everyone's just doing an install lap um a little bit interesting uh track Evolution I don't think this weekend is going to be all that key uh given that Formula 1 Formula 2 and Formula 3 have been running at the Italian Grand Prix um track evolution is not going to be that big of a factor given that um there's already going to be so much rubber onto the track um Fernando Alonzo will be using DRS um as you can see there um on the right hand side of your screen in fact it's just gone off the screen um but yeah Fernando Alonzo he's doing a long run he'll be using DRS by the looks of it um or he's going rather slowly actually I don't know what he's doing maybe he's doing some controlled uh oh this is this is another thing uh so any of you folks that don't know the teams have quite a few systems to gather data on on the car and what they do is on the on the steering wheel they can set a controlled speed limit they can say oh you have to drive 100 milph and or 100 km/ hour and then the team are going to use all of the senses and they're going to gather all the data and figure out how much downforce is the car generating how much drag is the car generating um And maybe Fernando Alonzo was doing that um but as of now he's just driving around rather slowly what is your opinion on the Red Bull car so far um well it looks fairly decent uh a little bit I think uh not so good on the breaks we've we saw I think Ven and Perez both suffering from some issues locking up here and there um Fernando Alonzo in fact even locked up a little bit going into turn number one um not ideal but yeah the red w c looks look fairly good this weekend um it is a totally different kind of circuit compared to what you normally have so the drivers are running totally different kind of things uh in terms of downforce levels and um drag levels Wing levels and all those things so you know that performance at Monza may be good but I don't think that will rep reflect you know accurately on another race circuit like Singapore or like uh Baku so yeah they may be good this weekend but there that doesn't mean that doesn't guarantee they'll be doing great um that doesn't mean they'll be doing great every weekend from there is doing a long run a term for just in practice when you're doing something other than a bit out hot lap pit in yeah a long run normally the drivers if they do more than say three laps uh it it's probably a long run in practice uh that's normally what the drivers do either hot laps or long runs Gathering data uh there's not really much in between because uh they don't really need any much there's not really anything in between that you need to do you're either doing a long run and you're simulating the fuel burn and the tire wear and all of those things um or you're doing some hot laps to get you ready for qual and in fact we have got km mag he's on a set of fresh soft tires he's on a hot lap barreling his way through lesmo to coming down towards the escari chicane he opens that DRS flap so he is using DRS uh we have a look at his Speedo 343 kmph through the speed traps and um yeah I don't think that engine is turned all the way up but he's still looking very very good and he makes his way through the well down the back straight now towards parabolica uh just a little little tap of the breakes flick the car in and then come across the line it is purple in the first sector purple in the second sector and purple in the third sector for Kevin Magnuson uh and he goes top of the timings P1 for km mag all right um what are your predictions for the qual and the race uh I don't know it is uh yeah I get this question all the time but uh given how close this Formula 1 season is uh I I can't predict anything um yeah all right right is there any grid penalty for Max no there is not um yeah Max Sten he is on a on a medium tie quickest in the middle sector once again 339 through the speed traps uh 4 km per hour slower than km mag comes through the comes towards parabolica now and um yeah across the line I think it'll be first position all right there we go first place for Max ven I don't know why we're not getting more running to be honest because yeah I would have expected a little little bit more running but it is what it is uh qualifying will start in 22 minutes and 3 hours 3 hours and 22 minutes depending on well it'll it'll start in 3 hours and 22 minutes anywhere in the world but uh yeah you can work it out for your respective time zone um both Red Bulls uh Perez and V stappen go 340 through the speed traps um Ki goes 343 um and yeah look at that from this stpp and I think maybe two or three clicks so he's looking to maybe increase or decrease the downfall level it's a little bit well we can't tell from his team radio um but two or three clicks that refers to the settings on of the front Wing angle so if you didn't know the only thing the teams are allowed to change setup wise after they've gone into qualifying or during race o something just fell off Sergio peris's car he's going down the main straight and um you know he he has hits a little bump or something and uh it just gets sucked out of the diffuser and a little debris a little piece of debris has just gone flying um that's very odd there um um I guess the red willll team are going to have to check the floor um what was I going to say uh oh yeah I was saying uh the clicks on the front Wing the only thing that the drivers are allowed to change are the front Wing angle and they have this little like twisting device and it's like two or three clicks or however many clicks you want and it will adjust the angle of the front Wing So a stapan came over the radio said maybe two or three clicks and they'll be talking about adjusting the front Wing angle to give him more or less grip or more or less balance um on the front or the rear of the car all right how is the weather forecast for today's quality in the race tomorrow uh the weather forecast is totally dry the uh yeah it be dry for the race that we drve for qualifying uh it is very hot out there in Monza and uh yeah we're going to have dry running for for the rest of the weekend also folks when did you get into Formula 1 uh I got into Formula 1 2018 the first race I watched was Spa in 2018 Sebastian Veta won that one um and yeah all right oh the data is lagging a little bit there let me just fix that there we go all right that should be fine oie does uh the track is very hot indeed it is um 46 degrees now track temperature is increasing a little bit more yeah I need to know your thoughts on Kimmy um well Kimmy are we talking about Kimmy Antonelli or Kimmy reiken in here um but no I think it's obviously going to be kimy Antonelli he's a he's a great driver and he's had a very quick rise through the ranks in Motorsport so you know you can have he'll have his shot in Formula One if he can perform then he'll keep his seat if not then um Mercedes is potentially through away a a position in the championship because you know if you have two good drivers you can keep uh maybe third position in the championship but if you have one good driver one rookie driver who's not doing all that well then maybe you'll drop down to Fourth um it's very similar to what we're seeing with Red Bull vapen probably will be able to hold on to the driver's Championship till the end of the season if he doesn't dnf or get you know if he gets two consecutive dnfs then that could be a big spanner in the works but I think ven will probably be able to hold on to the driver Championship but they are going to lose the constructors purely to down to the fact that Sergio parz wasn't delivering at the start of the season um and if Kim antonell doesn't deliver for Mercedes they will probably lose there would be a position lower than they would have been if they got say valry botas into the team or if they got caros SS into the team um but yeah I think that's a sacrifice they're willing to make and a little bit of a gamble I don't think Mercedes are running out of money anytime soon um so yeah I guess it's a I guess it's an all right choice for for the Mercedes team Okie does what else have we got talking about what else have we got to talk about um not so much we've got a couple more drivers out on a fresh set of soft and look at that Carlos SS he's blasting his way down the Main Street he's got getting a toe from Max fappen as well um but he is half a second back of maxen seems like the fuel load was a little bit higher and he's going a lot slower down the straights than you would expect Okie does um there we go George Russell set a medium tires of 121 .6 for him nice and quick for George Russell and Hamilton as well a 121.5 he's actually 410 behind his teammate but of course this is practice not too much to read into there um yeah how do you rate this season so far honestly I've got to rate it as as highly as possible it's been a fantastic season so many different winners so much chaos and action um if you you've been watching Formula 1 for a while um it's been one of the W best seasons in a long time uh 2021 was fantastic uh but because of the championship battle but I think this season has been great because there's been so many battles all like at the top of the pack for for positions for race wins drivers getting their first wins um yeah it's been it's been fantastic all right we got piash at the top of the times with a lap on the soft tires uh 12.8 a staing on a lap on a on medium tires uh a 12.9 only only half a ten slower is Max for stappen and he is on uh medium tires interesting well of course the fuel loads are different pastri might be running slightly higher fuel loads for Sten slightly lower uh it's tough to say the tire compounds this weekend they're the softest from pelli that they've got the C5 the C4 and the C3 um yeah oky jokes um all right we got Franco colapinto making his way out of the pit Lane as well I think uh yeah I'll be leaving he'll be leaving the pit Lane uh we'll have some running from him oky does the McLaren are quick indeed Lando Norris is also coming out now he's on his out laap um yeah o this is interesting here the drivers George Russell has been told pass through the pit Lane if it's going to help so the drivers are doing hot lap coold down lap hot lap um and they are driving through the pit Lane because you know at the pit on the pit Lane you do have a limited speed and you'll drive at 70 mph 70 km per hour very very slowly um and you'll cool down the tires quite a bit which is what the drivers do want to do on a cool down lap so uh yeah interesting uh interesting challenge there all right uh folks if you haven't hit the like button be sure to do so it definitely definitely does done their install laps there just sat in the garage I don't know what happened there with Fernando Alonzo he's just teleported a bit and uh caros s he's out of the pits on a used set of softs we've got George Russ he is on a used set of mediums and so is Hamilton um they've both come out the pit Lane but I think they've both just driven through the pit Lane to be honest yeah all right uh what else have we got to talk about um L cler he's had a very quick lap indeed a to be honest um but that's the way the you know that's the way the circuit has designed the curbs they are very very flat the drivers can just drive over them um hton did of course have to pay the price he lost the rear of the car as on the exit of turn number two after going over the curb at turn number one but uh yeah that's that's the thing that's why the drivers aren't particularly happy about these new curbs because you can just cut the corner and get away with it Lando Norris across the line first position for him great lap a 10th quicker n pastri and yeah he's done that on a fresh set of softs we have Franco kapino comes across the line it's 10th position for him George Russell he's starting a flying lap he's got a toe off kipin for the first bit um that's going to give him a couple of purple sectors there um he goes 342 through the speed trap so does Lew Hamilton both Mercedes drivers setting the exact same speed through the speed traps uh they are looking very quick also look at the alpines here uh we know for a fact they are down on horsepower they're 15 km per hour 15 horsepower down compared to everyone else uh yet through the speed traps they're still quicker than the Mercedes now that does indicate they are running less downforce and hence less less drag um so maybe they'll they'll be suffering in terms of Tire Weare and tire degradation all those things but in terms of straight line speed they are looking fairly quick actually which is a bit of a surprise all right um yeah oh Carlos SS first position for him he's done that on a used set of soft tires and he puts himself up into first position by half a tenth of a second this is what I'm saying it is so unpredictable here we got to have L clur coming out of the pit soon as well he's going to be going out on a for a hot lap on his and use set of softs as well um Russell across the line he goes 36 milliseconds ahead of s and he's done that on a u set of medium tires uh I don't know how George Russell has done that but very very quick indeed Hamilton as well puts himself up into third and this is the thing fuel loads are different T engine modes are different tire loads are different um and all of these things so let's not read into this too much but all we can say is that the the battle is going to be very very close between all of the drivers all right um hope you are enjoying the coverage folks uh we've got 40 minutes left of this free practice session and uh we've got around about 15 drivers or so out on the track as of now we've got a replay I think this is our Franco colapinto yeah going into lesmo 2 he loses the rear of the car a little bit goes onto the gravel trap um dips a wheel into the gravel trap and manages to stay out of trouble but yeah this is the thing you slowly have to start building up finding the limit now on this occasion Kinto will know this is the limit for the car I can't push that much harder now um and you know he's not going to push all that much harder and he's going to get away with things so nicely done nicely done there from Kinto Okie does um we have got Daniel Ricardo on a hot lap 34 47 through the speed traps absolutely rapid and only 10th Place there for Daniel Ricardo it seems like he got a toe coming down the main straight which boosted his speed trap speed but a little bit slower in um a little bit slower in the remaining parts of the track F1 gamer how big will the track Evolution be in quality considering this track has been resurfaced uh it's not going to be all that big if I'm going to be honest with you guys um because there has been so much running there's been no wet conditions Formula One Formula 2 Formula 3 have all been running on the track so track evolution is not going to play that big of a factor even if the track has been resurfaced uh and not even if even though the track has been resurfaced um Grano across the line 18th Place for him two seconds off the pace in those soft tires all right colapinto is very experienced despite his age watched him in whack and and was impressed all right I think yeah I didn't know actually kapino had wack experience but yeah I'm sure if he's had wack experience and formula 2 experience I'm sure he's had Formula 3 experience as well um Williams have made a good decision to uh to sign him what do you mean by 410 of a second 410 of a second I mean like 0.4 seconds Is 4/10 of a second it's just a nicer way of saying things rather than saying 0.4 or 0. you know5 seconds all right um here we go Charles ler he is on a flyer here Green in the first sector Green in the second sector he is a quarter a second up as he makes his way towards the parabolica and let's wait and see what he can do 343 through the speed traps identical to the rest of the drivers and comes through the parabolica doesn't make a mistake by the looks of it onto the power opens the DRS and it is a first position lap for Charles L clur goes to 10 the head of George Russell and he's done that on seven laap old soft tires um so Props to Charles decler because these soft tires really wear out very fast at this uh Monza circuit because track temperatures are so high 45 de So Soft tires can do maybe one two laps at high speed but yeah Charles the CLA has managed to do I think three hot laps now on those soft tires and is still going strong which is great botas across the line it's 15th Place for him Z's done a slow lap let's wait and see what he can do on his is he going to start a hot lap now I think he I don't know I'm not sure what Joe's doing actually um Perez he is doing some long runs here he's done five Laps on medium tires I think vapen is also doing the same thing I think yeah oh no Paris is into the pits now he's done his he's done his run uh we'll see what vav's doing uh SS is 210 quicker than Norris down the streets the McLaren was very quick in zanor that is a high downfall circuit here we are at Monza a low downfall circuit sights 2/10 quicker down the straights now that could be fuel mode that could be fuel that could be engine mode that could be downforce levels um it's tough to say all right Alex currently in 20th position he's on a hot lap makes his way out of the parabolica corner two green sectors three green sectors and he goes across the line in eighth position there for Alex Alor and a fresh to the soft a nice lap uh for the Williams driver he's going to have another Benchmark to be compared to now he's uh quite easily defeated Logan Sergeant I'd say um by just out qualifying him every single time um so now he's going to be compared to colapinto I think in the first couple of grand PRI it's not going to be an issue but come to the come to the end of the season uh it's he's going to have to make sure to out qualify kapino by a comfortable two three two 310 uh just to ensure that you know um everyone still thinks of him as a quick driver and I'm I'm sure next season he'll be alongside Carlos SS which is going to be a much tougher battle uh and he'll be prepared for that uh I'm sure no doubt oky does um yeah also guys if you haven't hit the like button be sure to do so it massively does help out the channel um and hopefully we can hit uh 900 or 1,000 likes by the end of the practice session all right uh what else have we got going on here not much actually I think everyone else might be just doing slow laps or coming into the pits um vapen yeah vapen still doing a bit of a long run he's doing that with no DRS as well uh you can tell by his speed trap speeds uh the DRS flap is closed he goes 326 through the through the speed trap rather than 340 something has B gotten a seat no it is not been confirmed as bot got a seat but I think he is prime candidate for Audi to sign in for next year it would be a fantastic driver pairing a very consistent reliable driver pairing to have valry botas and niik hulkenberg and um yeah I think they that's what they should do I'm sure uh there will there will be some rumors or maybe Mick's going to go there maybe it's going to be Liam Lawson um but I think botas Prime candidate number one and uh you know if they can't get botas then they'll try look for someone else but I think botas is going to try and keep his seat in Formula One I think he is quite enjoying it all right uh what else have we got going on here yeah everyone in the top five in the pits we got pastri out on a set of used soft tires seems like he'll be going for a hot lap the atmosphere at moner is always special having the toosi swarming past you is just is like running to battle Yeah the toosi of course very very um well they're in full force in the grand stands they're going to be enjoying this Ferrari doing well they're at the top of the timings with Charles the cler being in P1 um hopefully at the end of qualifying the the toosi will be on their feet once again celebrating um only time will tell do you think boretto has a chance at Audi um I think I mean I don't know I don't really I know baletto is in Formula 2 I haven't heard any sort of rumors about him though um and Audi being a sort of manufacturer team I think that they would rather want to go with you know a reliable set of drivers rather than a rookie um and to sort of find their feet in Formula One at least um yeah so I think they'll they'll probably do that and uh and prefer if Bas got the seat how many minutes after qualifying uh how many minutes is qualifying once fb3 ends uh once fp3 ends it'll be 2 and a half hours but qualifying starts in 3 hours time folks um yeah so wherever you are in the world now 3 hours and and 1 minute or whatever and um that'll be when quality starts Okie does [Music] um what else have we got to talk about oh we've got a couple more drivers out onto the track now um we've got Hamilton and Russell both of them out on used sets of medium tires uh seems like they've done some more refueling in the garage and they'll be out to do some more running will Audi have its own F2 Academy I don't think so um Audi are they are sponsoring the team I don't think they've entirely bought out the Saba team I'm not 100% sure on that but yeah they haven't they haven't fully invested yet in Formula 1 um and they may you know they may still leave after a couple years Anon isn't ready should be a reserve or Williams driver at best to an experienced yeah that is the thing but that being said um you know Lewis Hamilton at his first time in Formula One went straight to McLaren teammates with Fernando Alonzo and then you know he had a great start to his career uh you could say piastri he was there at one of the top teams last year in when he started his career so and piai didn't have any Formula One experience either so yeah it's it's a tough call to make and and this is the issue with rookies they don't have enough experience in Formula 1 cars that we only have three days of testing in Bahrain which means that the you know if there were 5 days of testing the FIA could mandate say oh you have to have rookies driving around in the last two days of testing uh and you can only in the first three days you can have whichever drivers you want but in the last two days you must have rookie drivers that haven't got a formula one seat in the past um oh wow Alex albor uh great lap there 120.5 um just marginally ahead of Charles luro very quick indeed uh purple in the first sector I think he must have got a toe off someone but yeah great job so yeah this is the issue with the rookies that there's always they're always two inexperienced uh I think Franco kapino he'll have enough experience now getting nine races in a Formula 1 season but you know these chances don't come along very often where you have you know you get subbed in for another driver and you get to drive nine races in Formula 1 uh at best you know you get a chance like Nick def freeze where you drive One race like he did in Monza 20 21 I think or 2022 um I know I think it was 2020 I'm not actually sure when Nick def freezed I think it was 2021 actually um but yeah you only get one race maybe um before you get a formula one seat so it's it's tough they're planning of do having a rookie race at the end of the season Once The Season's finished um then in Abu Dhabi they're going to have rookies drive around and have one rookie Formula 1 race um to get them a little bit more experience but it's always the issues with rookies they never experienced enough um but that's the gamble that you have to take all right um oky does um last Williams dominance was Senna uh I don't know actually uh I have not got a full record of when M Williams were winning the championship unfortunately um yeah I only started watching in 2018 uh I know bits here and there of of course Ferrari are very dominant in the early 2000s um but no I don't I don't actually remember when the last time Williams were so dominant I'm really waiting for Yuki to drive the Red Bull yeah I mean yeah I don't know what's going to happen with Red Bull uh I think they are going to lose the constructors maybe there's a clause saying oh we can fire you if we lose the Constructors Championship maybe there isn't um it's uh I'm not sure will Yuki Coda be able to compete with Max foren will he be quicker than Sergio Perez uh it's all too difficult to say really um yeah but I think Coda should should be at least given a shot um I don't know whether he should get the full seat but he should be given a shot oh Max for stpp and having a bit of a moment here coming out of lesmo 2 uh gets onto the curbs exactly like Franco kapino in fact um and making a mistake trying to push a little bit too hard oky does uh what little bit given that they are flat now um and uh here he goes through lesmo 2 through lesmo one sorry at turn number six and then through lesmo 2 uh caros and lcla both get out of the way nicely uh but George Russell I think he's going a little slower actually George Russell is on a long run he's done 10 laps on those medium tires uh which is fair enough all right let's see what else have we got to talk about here um Russell across the line look at that lap time of 124.21400 yeah essentially what they're doing is simulating what the first into of the race would look like they put in all 100 Kil kilos of fuel and then they drive around in the car um you know getting a feel for what the car feels like they get a bit of data on the tire wear uh and how much slower each slap is according to parabolica here he goes then through turn number 11 and he's now coming across the line uh across the line he goes first place for him Charles lur in second position very nice very nice for the Ferrari Duo I'm sure the toos are very pleased with that and yeah they're doing this on used soft ties as well so nicely done from the Ferrari pack um maybe their upgrades are working better than expected and uh yeah use soft tires and they're still able to perform that well very very nice parabolica is turned number 11 It's the final corner of the circuit that's the name for it do MK have the pace on the hards too uh yeah I think they had I think Mercedes I don't know actually if they did hard Tire running yesterday but if you had a look at the the running pace between them on the mediums of all of the teams they were within one tenen of Red Bull and McLaren and Ferrari so yeah all right oh we've got Sergio Paris a little bit of a lock up and then he goes straight on at turn number one uh once again suffering from issues we saw uh yesterday both Red Bulls uh struggling with lockups and breaks into turn number one and and it looks like the issues haven't been totally resolved uh because Sergio peris still had that mistake now just going into turn number one on uh science is definitely not on Fresh soft so the data is saying that he is on usofts um which are eight laps old but yeah we'll uh I'll see I'll double check that I can feel a safety car in this race well uh I don't know if you guys saw but the safety car crashed in fact on Thursday um they were they were they crashed they were they having a bit of testing of the safety card making sure everything works but but yeah all right um this is interesting they telling Charles lur what he can do he can break a little bit later and go slower through turn number one and get a better exit for turn number two which will give you which will gain you lap time I think that's where he lost out to caros S on his quick lap so yeah the safety car crash was uh yeah very very unsafe actually it was actually the danger car um but but no they' flown out another safety car uh to the monzer Circuit so they they have two as a backup now uh well they always had two as a backup so they've flown out uh they had the backup and then they flown out another one just to have another backup um yeah and uh yeah that should be fine but the the thing is we haven't had a safety car in the previous six races and uh yeah we could have one at moner of course uh you could have a break failure and the drivers have to stop on the side of track um all manner of things could happen to be honest um at monzo going into turn number one someone could go bowling uh in fact they've they've made turn one wider when they did the resurfacing turn number one has become a wider part of the circuit previously you could probably get away by going too wide and now on lap number one I think you could also get away going three wide um and still all three drivers stay on the track uh which would be brilliant and uh yeah there's more chance for overtaking more chance for Action uh which is always fantastic and once again the drivers they drive through the pit Lane lur and science both of them driving through the pit Lane here to cool down their tires and um yeah interesting I'm not sure exact oh actually I know exactly why they don't um I was going to say why don't they just drive around at 70 km per hour or whatever the the pit lane speed limit is on the main part of the circuit well firstly there are drivers coming much quicker than them behind them so there's that issue and the other thing is if they do go off the racing line there's a lot of dust and gravel and stuff like that uh a dust and dirt that you do not want to be getting onto your tires and that's why it's probably better to drive through the pit Lane uh qualifying starts in 2 hours and 45 minutes um yeah what's wrong with McLaren I think McLaren a little bit slower in a straight line this weekend but maybe you know they were just running higher fuel loads um it's too early to tell only qualifying will let us know who who is the quickest in a straight line um McLaren also uh it's interesting what's happened here at McLaren so because of the cost cap and the budget cap you don't want to be making completely new front Wings every single weekend and for the Monza circuit you need a new front Wing what because essentially you want to have the lowest downforce possible so what uh McLaren have done is that they took the front Wing the normal high down Force front wing and then they cut a piece of it out U I'm sure like it's not you know some some random person's just taking a hacksaw and just cut it out like it was very precise done by an engineer but instead of producing a completely new front Wing they have just cut out a piece of the current front Wing which I have a feeling may be compromising them a little bit um and it is a thing that they've made you know a conscious decision that they've made because of the budget cap um they want to and McLaren have bring been bringing loads of upgrades as well um so it's very important that they don't totally blow the budget cap because in every upgrade they bring they do have to manufacture that upgrade um so what they've done this weekend is they've actually just cut out a piece of their normal front Wing whereas Ferrari and Red Bull they've all brought a completely new redesigned front wing for the monzer circuit specifically um so that might be a bit of a a thing that's compromising the McLaren team and um yeah it's difficult difficult call to make and uh I don't think we'll ever find out if that's what the cause is of their slightly slower Pace compared to everyone else but um you know maybe Kwal Lando nor sticks it on pole colapinto at 347 km per hour indeed uh just before he came into the pits it was a very quick uh very quick lap I think he got a toe as well um but nonetheless uh in fact kinos is on a flying lap now he's coming towards the line uh so wait and see what he can do he's currently in 17th position his teammate Alex albon is up in third place uh we got the two Ferraris on hot laps they're both quickest in this middle sector for lur quick it's in the final sector for SS and um kapino across the line eighth position for him and he goes 310 behind his teammate very nice job from caropino first first you know Formula 1 weekend and he's only 310 behind Alex Alor a very good driver very respectable quick driver so yeah job job well done for Franco Kinto of course he's got qualifying to deliver in but yeah he had a bit of an assistance of a toe but all of these things will be happening in qual as well uh Charles L clur improves on his lap goes ahead of Carlos s by 210 of a second the defos are pleased with that and are cheering quite loudly what are your predictions for the race tomorrow um oh it's it's tough to say honestly uh I'd have to wait for wait to find out who's on poll and then I'll say what my predictions are oh look at that Lan stroll 349 9 km an hour through the speed traps for him um and maybe he got a toe off Fernando Alonzo not sure there um but 349 seems a little bit too high to get with uh with just DRS on its own all right um But Here Comes Fernando Alonzo he comes across the line and it is 10th place for him Lan stroll who is behind him uh probably getting a bit of a toe as well uh it's 12th Place for him interestingly enough he goes slower than his teammate even though he might have got a toe off him yeah there's no picture for the radio messages for kapin I think that'll be added in soon enough uh I think it's just because it's a midseason change uh they haven't got the photos ready for colapinto right 15 minutes remain of this free practice session we've got Lando Norr on a hot lap here purple through the middle sector he comes across the line second place it is for him 36 milliseconds behind Charles L cler and uh you know whatever I was talking about McLaren maybe having some issues because they used a different front Wing uh yeah those are totally been disqualified because Lando Norris up into second position pastri he is uh what's he doing I think he's on a hot lap now um yeah pastri is on a hot lap now so we'll see what piastri can do makes his way through the second chicane all over the curbs but very well controlled by Oscar pastri and now towards lesmo 1 and two um there was a bit of an incident between L clur and Ricardo uh regarding one of them blocking each other but that has been uh that's been noted I don't think there's going to be any sort of penalty given that it is practice um piai now uh makes way through the middle sector slightly slower than Lon Norris Middle sector but nonetheless very very quick uh and we'll see where we can end up at the top of the time we've got the the Merks coming out the alpha toes coming out uh the saas the Red Bulls uh a couple more drivers making their way out now uh to do their hot laps at the end of fp3 yeah look at that the Merks out on Fresh sets of soft look at this L clur did that hot lap on used soft tires they are 14 laps old uh from Charles thecla and he's still doing that that is fantastic um very very impressive there for Charles lir piash improves goes ahead of his teammate by 10 milliseconds wow the for the McLaren Duo are so close to each other and um yeah such a well-matched well-matched team uh I'm sure they'll be pushing each other all the way to limit and yeah I'm sure Zack Brown is very pleased with that as well both drivers drive driving very quickly um fantastic for him and yeah P you got a purple final seor and he ended up AC ended up in second place nicely done the Monza package working very well indeed yeah uh what what the issue was um they brought an upgrade package at Barcelona in Spain right and the upgrade package they done all their simulations and all of these things and it was meant to work very well but they had some issues with the correlation and there was a lot of bouncing um so since Barcelona they've gathered a lot of data on what causes the bouncing how to prevent The Bouncing um in which conditions does this bouncing occur and all of these things and they've they've added that to their simulations um and because they've added it to their simulations they have been able to design an upgrade package that doesn't bounce and uh yeah it's working really well for them um very nice job Indeed Okie does uh we're getting pretty close to uh 900 likes folks if you haven't hit the like button be sure to do so and if you haven't subscribed as well that would be fantastic um very much do appreciate all of the support by the way um and hopefully I'll be seeing you for qualifying in a couple hours time time 2 hours and 40 minutes to be exact all right uh oh it was very very close there uh another incident between Ricardo oh and some debris as well off one of the Ferrari cars um not ideal uh some yeah they were going very slowly between lesmo 2 and ascari and Norris Ricardo I think blocked Charles lur I think is um so yeah that's uh not ideal this is one of the things with the monzer circuit it is quite narrow and it being quite narrow you do end up with um with what was I going to say oh yeah with drivers blocking each other um because the circuit isn't wide enough they've got to be on their best behavior and listening to their engineers and looking in the mirrors look at that VY bot us 350 km an hour uh only 16th Place unfortunately um but yeah oh look at that both Merks top of the timings by less than a tenth of a second uh Hamilton great lap from him uh let's have a look at his first sector time yeah you got a very nice uh toe I think on the first sector or at least a bit of a slipstream so that's definitely helped him out very nice very nice but look at look at how close the competition is the top five within a 10th and a half the top six within a quarter of a second second I think if if science sets a better lap which is about to do now um everyone is going to be within fractions of seconds of each other and look at that Max was happen in sixth position uh it's not looking great for him um we'll wait and see though and also I'd like to point out here is Charles lur he's out on a fresh set finally he's been doing setting loads of hot laps on a used set of soft tires but here he is on a fresh set um let's wait and see what he can do uh the gap between him and Le Hamilton only one1 of a second and the lap di he did set um which is keeping him in third place that was on a USU set of softs here so let's wait and see what Charles lur can do I have a I have a feeling that it's going to be a very quick lap coming our way all right Carlos science makes his way through parabolica look at that he's got Lando Norris ahead of him a nice bit of a toe to start off his flying lap and Norris is also Norris I think is starting flying lap piastri purple first sector from him very nicely done and now he goes through the second chicane he's got the two Aston Martins ahead of him but he now getes the second chicane very nicely towards lesmo one Taps the brakes flicks the car in and same thing for lesmo 2 great job there from pastri he's going to get a toe off Alonzo and stroll they both get out of the way nicely as he heads towards ascari and yeah let's keep an eye hulkenberg quickest in the first sector 345 km an hour um very nice indeed he got a toe off I think one of the Red Bulls or Cola pinto and now uh let's keep an eye out on SS and L clur both drivers are looking to set a quick lap here on on a fresh set of tires uh L backed out of it it seems like he was a little bit too close to Norris oh actually no lur just made a mistake uh yeah lur made a mistake on a fresh set of soft not great there for him um I think he's going to go again on his second attempt Carlos SS what has he done um he has also made a mistake and he's let Lando Norris overtake him both Ferraris on Fresh tires have ended up making mistakes um yeah I don't know I don't know how that's happened both of the drivers have done that um all right we've got the two Merks out they're both out on three laap old soft ties so we're going to see what they can do um But Here Comes Nik no nik hul came across the line Sorry a couple of moments ago and 10th position for him brilliant so we've got the replay here of Oscar pastri goes into the second cane and a bit of a twitch on the exit of the corner dips into the gravel a little bit doesn't lose all that much time um but he does have to correct uh correct the car and uh he does lose that Peak acceleration moment as well once you do step onto the throttle if you're you know if you're on gravel you're going to have a lot less acceleration than if you were on tarmac all right um ooh turn four incident for Lance stroll escaping to follow race director's instructions Escape Road uh Escape road instructions interesting I think stroll has made a mistake at turn number four you're meant to go around a certain Ballard um but he didn't given its practice I don't think there's going to be any sort of issues regarding that but yeah if you do that in qual or in the race then there will be a penalty coming your way is track Evolution large I don't think it should be given that we've had so much running today and um the track has really been rubbed in I don't think we're going to have all that much track Evolution okay gazley up into 14th position we've got the two Ferraris what are they doing uh L clur and the first sector o not all that quick uh I think he's go doing another slow lap here uh and Carlos SS what is he doing in the first sector another slow lap um all right yeah the really reducing that tire temperature track temperature now up to 47° uh the soft tires can only last a couple of laps um are free practice tires part of the racing set or do they not count uh no the drivers they get so the way the system works is they get I think 13 tires or 11 tires for the entire race weekend they have to use you know they can you those are available to use in practice in qual and in the race um they do have to return I think one or two sets of practice session um so at the end of free practice one they have to return one set TI at the end of free practice 2 they have to return another set um but yeah I think that answers your question uh yeah all right we got Charles lir who is fastest on all the Straits piastri only less than a tenth behind botas is 10th T slower than L CL down the straights um so yeah goes to show the saas are rocket ships in a straight line but here they are in the corners and they're down in 18th and 19th position 18th and 20th position because uh well Monza isn't just straights there are 11 Corners after all and if you're slow through them then um yeah you're going to you're going to lose time aren't you all right uh thank you everyone for tuning in by the way very much is appreciated we got 4,000 uh how many how many people is it 4,200 people tuned into button then that would very much be appreciated um truck temperature once again 47° uh the driver is struggling with excessive Tire heat um but George Russell he's doing his second lap here on a set of softs uh in fact he just he came across the line a a few moments ago but didn't improve uh he was very close in fact to improving but no no improvement for George Russell on his second lap on soft tires Okie does oh also the other thing is that at Monza we are going to have quite a few um well the drivers are going to be struggling with breake temperatures as well um monser ideally what they want to do is run the smallest possible break Ducks um that they can without overheating the brakes but the hotter the brakes the less breaking performance that you actually do get oh Charles ler driving over a bunch of gravel getting nearly pushed off The Circuit by pastri I think piash was looking the other way he was expecting lur to go past him on the racing line so piu moves out the way um but very very unfortunate there the timing was just a little bit off and uh they were expecting essentially what happened was they were going uh the straight in between lesmo 2 and ascari um normally you drive on the left hand side for the starting bit and then you switch over to the right once you get towards ascari and that's what pastri was expecting um but lur saw that pastri was a little bit close so he decided to go to the right hand side of the circuit instead of left hand side um and they had a bit of an incident there um I don't think there are going to be any Penal is awarded for that though uh given that it is just practice we've had no red flags no crashes today um that is fairly uh fairly normal stuff uh we we did have two crashes yesterday uh and two red flags to drive around the circuit come across the line do a grid start get the clutch setting styed in I think McLaren will be very much focused on this trying to get the best possible clutch settings for Lando Norris maybe their warm up procedure isn't good enough um I'm not sure on the formation lap the drivers do a certain warm-up procedure they do a certain um you know a certain number of burnouts to get the r TI temperatures up maybe McLaren aren't doing that um but yeah they're going to have to sort out those race starts especially considering going to turn to one there's quite a long straight and there's quite a bit of slip streaming to do Lando Norris could lose the lead if he does get Paul position uh and Lando Norris is slows through the speed traps 343 is the highest speed that Norris recorded uh and that is alongside V stappen and Hamilton they all three of the drivers 343 km an hour um not uh not ideal really 18th 19th and 20th for them all right but that is the end of free practice 2 folks uh free practice three sorry uh what's going to happen is I'm going to end the live stream it'll take you over to the qualifying live stream all I could ask for you guys is if
