into the numbers to see how good he's been oh he's been nearly Untouchable kind of a Silent Assassin out there just goes to work and guys look up it's deep into the ball game and they haven't been able to scratch anything off of this guy so look for him to do the same thing today maybe Go the Distance maybe hand it over to the bullpen at the end and try to get that W swings and sends a rocket to right gamble makes the grab one pitch and one out and let's take a look at the lineup one guy leading the way offensively for this club right now aeno Suarez Tops on the team in batting average boo a guy who's showing off some excellent batto ball ability when he digs into at the plate you know that's useful if your team needs to get an inning going get a leadoff man on but it's also incredible to have a guy like that in the lineup because he's a run producer who can drive in runs if you got guys on base already so he's a huge piece in this lineup no trouble here puts it away for the out out number two two out space is empty now a chance for Jack Peterson trying to pick up his first knock in the big [Applause] leagues clober to right field way back gone he flexes his power with that swing and they jump out front it's one nothing [Applause] love to see a hitter aggressive on the first pitch of an at bat you watch him from the on Deck Circle so when you step in the Box you're ready to pull the trigger wherever it's at really good job by the hitter total conviction on that swing base is empty with two away Josh Bell stands in now for the Diamondbacks fast ball for a strike oh and [Music] one and he deals this one smoked on its way out of [Applause] here another another one backto back homers it's two nothing he put a charge into that one that was a lightning swing right there no doubt about it back-to-back homers always a special feeling at the Ballpark especially if it's your team that does it and those guys get to slap hands at home plate this is the kind of thing that can really fire up a ball [Applause] so two away with nobody on now up next for Arizona Jake McCarthy on the ground right side and he can't come up with it and he's going to make it to First and we'll see how they score it Jake McCarthy with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you worked to get here two outs runner at first aeno Suarez up to the plate now looking for his first big league hit right here hammers that one curling down the line and foul he might want to steal second in this spot but he's dealing with a catcher that has one of the best pop times in the game he needs to pick his spot very wisely he one swing and a ball hammered left field and it hits the top of the wall around third the relay [Applause] safe so he gets two Milestones with that hit his first big league knock and he drives in his first run as well yeah you love to get both of those out of the way with just one swing of the bat and it makes the special moment even more special it's not just an individual accomplishment when you're also driving in a run for your team that's an ADV he's never going to forget runner at first with two away at the batter now paven [Applause] Smith in the air right field pretty well struck gamble raging back towards the wall pulls it in and the warning track but two round Trippers in this inning the long ball was working it's now three nothing you're watching Major League Baseball on the show back here at minut made Park and on the mound now Ryan Nelson and singy we were talking earlier about how he's doing a great job navigating through tough spots I've just been so impressed with when it seems like there's more pressure he's more calm and settles in he's done an incredible job with runners in scoring position most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he's able to wiggle off the hook of you know tough situations and get his team back in the Dugout Jose Altuve the leadoff batter as he looks at ball one they're off to a great start three-run lead after their first inning but so important to be airtight defensively don't give away extra outs and allow that other club to get back in this ball game and the rander deals wouldn't chase that [Applause] time here's a 3oh there's a strike 95 of that one clearly taking all the way there in that three-oh count it was a cookie right down the middle [Music] that one finds the Zone that's strike two outside and that is ball four it's tough after falling behind a hitter two balls and no strikes but now at least he gets a fresh start against a new batter but he needs to get back into the strike zone and start pitching with conviction yon Alvarez the next to hit takes ball one and another ball well he's really working him away this sbat sometimes take a little bit off velocity try to get a roll over something on the ground stay away from that big hole on the right side of the infield left hand hitter Waits I got three [Applause] and foul ball there down here we high in the air out to right under it Carol makes the [Music] play that now we check out the Astros lineup and one of the most exciting young stars in the sport Yer Diaz Ando we're talking about a guy who has great wheels and then puts them to good use he's the team leader in stolen bases and run score man using his speed to just get in the scoring position and then just flying home when the guys behind and put the ball in play I absolutely love watching him do it because he causes havoc on the base paths way outside and that's ball two rander kick Steals and that one fouled [Music] off not even close there and the count is three and one [Music] swing and a highfly ball pretty well struck right field Carol ranes back and that one is going to go and they throw a pair on the board it's [Applause] 32 when you have a team that hits home runs at such a high rate they can get back in the ball game so quickly that's why that leadoff walk was extremely [Music] [Applause] [Music] costly one down here's Alex bregman [Music] swinging a foul over the screen and back out of play one out base is empty and that's outside and a pitch that one not close two and one and that's outside [Applause] [Music] stri hit pretty well in the air out to Center McCarthy trying to get there and there's two down here's the catcher gayer Diaz this is a guy who is very highly regarded defensively fun to watch him control stuff behind the plate Good Game caller good at framing but it's that big arm that really stands out first offering misses badle for ball one when you got a catcher like this guy with a big arm like that behind the plate it really shuts down the running game first inning and already up to 23 pitches and there's a ball I'll say this as a former position player and base stealer when you come into a game and you've got a guy like this behind the dish with a big arm you really have to change your approach can't try to steal cuz you'll get thrown out well we'll hold that thought as that's the third out and we'll end the inning but not before they're able to draw closer with this blast it's now a 3-2 ball game you're watching major League Baseball on the show top of the second and here's the rookie catcher Adrien del Castillo Adrien del Castillo the right hander back to work that one down the line oh can't pick it up cleanly but the throw to first gets him easily and that's the first out batting the second Bas here's Luis goret kind of a throwback no batting gloves line to right and that'll be a base hit and that turns the lineup [Applause] over Luis goret with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wa so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you worked to get here Corby Carrol swings it now good power and he's homered off some really big names early in his career oh now this one is blessed to right foret it way back there and gone a gigantic blast and they boost their lead it's 52 that's their third home run of the game they're having a lot of fun at the plate in this one they've got the long ball working for them on autopilot he's so good at getting his arms extended and then that's exactly what he did right there you don't typically want to pull a pitch in that part of the plate but he doesn't allow his risks to roll over stays through the ball gets the Loft and gets the Home Run Bas is empty one away Heraldo Pomo stands in now for the Diamondbacks right down to shoot going one Pomo measures six F Feet 2 in 24 years old and he was born in the Dominican Republic one down base is empty line drive and that's a base hited to right paraldo Pomo with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard youve work to get here man at first with one gone next to hit for Arizona Jack Peterson and immediately pumps in a strike to the left-handed hitter two runs across in the inning here at the top of the second clobber to right field way back G that was blasted to the moon it's their second home run of the inning and they add to the lead it's 72 that's their fourth home run of the game they can't stop and they won't stop hitting home runs in this one boo they're clearly feeding off of each other at the dish with a low 90s fast ball you have to live on the edges and hit your spots if you don't you'll get hit hard really good swing there patient and waited for it was like BP all over again so one out nobody on next is the designated hitter Josh Bell DPS one to right and it stays fair and that rolls into the corner makes the turn and heads for second in safely it's a double and his second hit everything came together perfectly for him right there just a solid swing right there caught it out front and ripped it into the outfield for the base hit those always feel great next up for the Diamondbacks Jake McCarthy reached on an infield single this first [Applause] time bunts it in the air bregman pulls it in on the run now batt third [Applause] AZ aeno Suarez up to hit down singled and drove in a run his first time [Applause] through pulled down the line this one hammered but it's foul that one is absolutely belted and that's just foul two outs and one in scoring [Applause] position this one drill to left no doubt about it as they add on more gone he'll touch them all their third home run of the inning and they add a couple more it's 92 and their fifth home run of the game some things in this sport are contagious Boo and right now for this team clearly it's the long ball no matter how this outing ends that pitch is going to haunt him for a while an 02 mistake that's supposed to be a Pitch out of his own he left it in a spot that the hitter could do some damage with and that's exactly what he did manager out of the Dugout now and it looks like we'll see a change on the mound Verlander done in this one and this is one he'd like to forget back with a new arm after this so a new pitcher out of the bullpen for the Astros Hunter Brown he's been so good against [Applause] lefties two outs nobody on now up next for Arizona Haven Smith hard ground ball base nowock and that keeps the inning alive the battle the catcher Haven Smith with his first major league hit and this is a moment I'm sure he'll never forget congrats yeah great moment for him and his family a guy works so hard and has to wait so long for this to happen and when it does can kind of be overwhelming boo you still have to stay locked in on the game but it's great when you could take a minute to just appreciate what you've done and how hard you work to get here so a man aboard and now the catcher comes up to him Adrien del Castillo and there's one thing on his mind this at bat getting that first hit at the big league level Bunch it towards the mound slings to First and they're happy to just get off the field after that frame I'm on my way oh man Pap gas the man my just bottom of the second and stepping in is the Speedy Jeremy P Peña Jeremy and here it comes that one way outside ball one there's a ball he hasn't wanted to challenge him both of those pitches off the plate away don't expect anything down the heart of the plate you may just have to be patient and man retired here in the third the right field number seven Corbin Caroll this is Corbin Carroll he's already homered here in this one Corbin Carroll was an easy choice for Rookie of the Year in 20 23 voters made him the unanimous Choice after he put together a consistent season that took a lot of drama away from the announcement the world of baseball knew he was going to win it man he smoked that fast ball he's all over it it's just frustrating when you can't get it to fall maybe next time up he'll find a hole Heraldo Pomo stands in now for the Diamondbacks smoked to right center and this one's going to go out of here a massive home run and they tack one on the board it's 10 [Applause] to2 that's exactly the pitch he was looking for crushes it and hits it out of the ballpark [Applause] [Applause] here's Jack Peterson and a bunt towards third to First and he beats it well singy that was really nice looking able to get it down and in a good spot and he makes it look easy bad angle was perfect Barrel stayed above the hands could almost walk to first man it first and now the switch hitting first baseman Josh Bell and he buns but that's a foul ball one run across in the frame so far we're here in the top half of inning number three bus it straight back to the mound in plenty of time to First and that is the inning Dbacks get one on the solo Jack it's now a 102 ball game you're dialed into the show [Music] they want but they won't do these days people say a lot of things but they won't do things that they want to man what you going to do set for the bottom of the third and now the center fielder chz McMan Nelson back to work and ball [Applause] one so two balls and no strikes and that's outside [Applause] right let's see if he gives him anything to hit here and he walked him four pitches that's an easy walk man he could have walked me right there but last one wasn't even close2 up to H here he walked and came around to score his first time up [Music] wouldn't command of his pitches in this one definitely more walks than you'd like to see here's Jordan Alvarez flyed to right his first time [Music] and that's outside two walks in the inning already and he just doesn't seem comfortable out there like he can find the right mechanics and then repeat them the pitch two and0 good spot for the hitter definitely has the advantage in this count with Runners on look for him to be aggressive on this next pitch [Applause] that one misses and now three [Applause] and0 it kicks andand deal and they're B loaded up gosh another walk in this one man he is having some real issues with control here's Kyle Ducker he's already homered in this game as a batter he's known for performing better in these night games he might start two for two in this one and the first offering is not close well this is a tough situation with the bases loaded but the healthiest mindset is just try to get outs one hitter at a time all loaded up dangerous hitter at the plate now wanted one he must have been looking for something else cuz he gave up on that pitch a little early it was right down Main Street probably not going to see a better pitch to hit in this hit [Applause] back next offering way off the plate in situations like these the air can get really thin up there at the plate got to find a way to breathe and slow everything down now one miss one [Music] [Applause] there's a strike and boy that was the pitch 3-1 you want to be really aggressive on the fast ball Bas is Juiced no outs foul ball and it remains a Full Count oh that's a really good pass to the ball right there just a little bit too quick got to find a way just let it travel I care more the pitch runs it up to 96 to record the punch out and that's the first strike out of his major league career and it could be the first of many if he meets the goals he's set for himself and the expectations others have for him he doesn't want to just win games he wants to dominate at this level do you think Young pitchers can sometimes get too caught up in trying to rack up PS early in their career Bo I think they can it's kind of like a hitter that doesn't have power [Applause] the 01 ball one the ball like that with good exit vow the better off you're going to be in the long run so digging in paven Smith one for two into the Outfield base hit went up there looking to be aggressive and got something he could handle pretty tough for the infielders to do anything with that one he pulled it hard into the Outfield and even when you keep it on the ground it feels great when you hit a missile Merill Kelly pretty tight game so they're looking for Quality pitches out of them right here got to do his best to keep the score right where it [Music] is come on you can do it first offering misses
