Florida State Football UPSET AGAIN! | FSU SHOCKED By Boston College! What's Next For Norvell?

so for a team that was so fired up this off season that was supposed to come into this year with a chip on their shoulder Florida State now finds themselves 0 and2 with both losses coming in conference play today we need to break down what we saw last night as Boston College Downs FSU and ask the question what comes next for the seminal and Mike Norville but before we can as always yall a feeling that Boston College would be able to pull off the upset why because Florida State couldn't stop Georgia Tech running the football and let's be very clear here Georgia Tech had the number one rushing attack in the ACC last year but Boston College had the number two rushing attack in the ACC and no offense to Haynes King but I thought that Boston College's quarterback was more of a threat than Georgia Tech last night we saw that guy is real dynamic in fact Boston College ran the same play multiple times in the fourth quarter alone where they would roll out the quarter back and give him a few options he either had the dump off pass or if the linebacker carried over if the safety carried over and the DB cleared out he'd keep it and run it himself and Florida State had absolutely no answer so let's talk about this game let's break it down what did we see what was surprising what has got to be fixed and we'll start with the last what has got to be fixed if you're Florida State I sympathize with the fact that you have faced the top two rushing teams from last season in the AC DC but you have got to be able to slow down the rush Boston College had 263 yards on the ground averaging over five per to put that in perspective Florida state had 21 rushing yards on 16 attempts that's terrible like that's not just bad that's terrible if you can't establish a run game in college football if you cannot win the line of scrimmage you are going to lose football games and listen I see a lot on Twitter piling on dju and in the first game I came to you and said hey there's a lot of people piling on dju he's not the sole reason for this loss dju did not have a good game against Boston College there were opportunities to have touchdowns that you have got to have and there were just missed throws so in the first game I was a little bit more defensive of dju saying hey I'm not saying he played perfect he absolutely didn't he missed opportunities but this is on Mike norell in this game dju had wide openen opportunities and missed them there was a point in this game where Florida state was 0 for five for passes beyond the line of scrimmage that's not a winning recipe in football now at the end of the game Florida state did end up with 272 passing yards to Boston College is 100 6 but we get back to the rushing attack where you had less than 30 yards on the ground football is one and lost in the trenches and I got to be honest right now this Florida State defensive line that was supposed to be the best in college football they're not the best in their conference let's be very clear here that's not the best defensive line in the conference giving up 263 yards on the ground I understand that's why at the beginning I extended the olive branch and said hey if you're a Florida State fan watching this I do sympathize because you face the top two rushing attacks in the ACC and there will be people clicking on this video and saying Ty it's Boston College it's Georgia Tech fair fair but they do Rush the ball very well very very well and with Bill O'Brien taking over at Boston College we knew they were going to run the ball well so they already did it well then you hire a guy who that's really what he wants to do and this is the result so Florida State's defensive line is far from what it was held out to be but you know what the offensive line ain't much better and in fact there was a time where Florida state was trying to recapture the lead in the fourth quarter and then you have an offensive lineman get a dumb penalty and yes did the Boston College player sell it should he win an Oscar yes on both counts why give him the opportunity if anything that's smart on the Boston College player I have a Florida State team that's ranked and I'm in Striking Distance and they give me this gift why would I not take it why on Earth would I not take it the question shouldn't be did he sell it because the answer is yes he sold it the question should be why give him the gift why give him the opportunity and for me the answer to that question is something that Florida State fans I am sorry but it goes back to Mike Norvell yes you had a player make a bad mistake but at the same time this doesn't look like a team that's very well coached right now and I know that's harsh but Mike Norville got that massive contract and it does not look like this is a team that has a supremely great culture that is supremely well coached far from it he has been outcoached both times this season the last three games we've seen Mike norell coached in the coaches he's gone against have run circles around him he should have a pen and Notebook on the side because it's been clinics given to him I know that's harsh but that's true that is 100% true he and his staff have been outcoached this year thoroughly and if anybody wants to dispute that and say oh but it's DJ you he's the one who went out and got him it's not like DJ you only had one year of college film out there for Mike Norvell to sit back watch and say you know what yeah there might be deficiencies but I think I can fix it there's multiple years there's multiple years of film and you made that choice and yes not a good game from dju where's the rushing attack 21 yards that's pathetic that's that's not a winning recipe right now when I look at Florida State schedule there are two more losses on this schedule and that's me being optimistic but if you can't stop Georgia Tech you can't stop Boston College what are you gonna do with Cam Ward Damen Martinez and an offensive line that's really good over at Miami what are you going to do against them because cam Ward will be foreign about the best quarterback you will face what are you going to do against them because he's a dual threat guy too and then you have Damen Martinez who's a monster an offensive line that's filled with four and five star prospects you just let Boston College rush for 263 on you pushed that defensive line around had their way with them what you could do in Miami comes what are you gonna do when Notre Dame comes I'm not saying Notre Dame's got a slam dunk offense they don't at least not yet at least not yet it's a little unfair for me to say that it's been one game new new quarterback Notre Dame's got a tough defense now you couldn't get over 30 yards on the ground on Boston College what are you going to do against Notre Dame how are you going to attack that defense there are multiple issues right now with Florida State and the only reason I keep going back to that is I do think it's a bit of a copout to look at dju and say you are the sole issue that's not true it's not that's not to say he wasn't an issue no dispute from me there were on one drive alone three throws you got to have got to have them multiple of those would have been touchdowns you have to have them he missed that's not a winning recipe but neither is rushing for 21 yards neither is that offensive line that for the second game in a row got outplayed neither is having a coaching staff for the second game in a row got out coached for so much fire we heard from Mike Norvell you would think that the team culture would be one that we want to go and prove it to you that's not what we're seeing right now we saw a team that quite frankly whenever Florida State got that bad penalty it looked like they quit and I don't want to bring up the bowl game because that was last year and at some level I do sympathize with Florida State because you had a great season last year if not for your quarterback getting hurt you would have been in the playoffs unfortunately the college football playoff committee had that rule on the books since its Inception in 2013 I don't want to bring that up but at the same time you had players not compete in that game and I get it it's a bowl game we can talk about how meaningless it is it wasn't meaningless for Georgia they showed up now you can sit here and say Ty that's unfair because Florida State felt like they should have gotten into the playoffs that's fine but it meant something to Georgia and they kicked their ass now we fast forward to this season and in both games intin of both games I've seen from Florida State where it looks like to the team this doesn't matter so when will it matter that's my question hop down to the comments let me know
