Nebraska EMBARRASSES Colorado in SURPRISING Way | Matt Rhule | Dylan Raiola | Deion Sanders

all right we build it as one of the better games that we would see this weekend and truth be told it wasn't necessarily that Matt rule had his guys ready to go and they absolutely took Colorado to the Woodshed and we'll talk about that in today's video presented by bet us uh Colorado certainly didn't look prepared for this one and it's tough I I know they're playing behind an offensive line that is just not up to par but man Nebraska looked like the team that we thought they would be much more physical much more imposing just ready to kind of lay the hammer lay the wood at all times and Colorado man just could not get anything going 28-10 final score probably wasn't that close obviously it's 28 to nothing at halftime and then Nebraska is just kind of in Cruise mode from there on out didn't really look especially great offensively I mean shoot even um you know 21 of those points were all that they scored offensively they had the pick six early but did enough to handle Colorado with relative ease and it's probably somewhat concerning for Coach Prime Squad it's probably pretty exciting for Matt rues team but he certainly had his guys ready to play from the jump they were ready to go and uh Dylan Rola man you know I I don't don't really know what his long-term prospects are Nebraska fans I you know that's not me doubting him but man through two games he's everything you'd want a true freshman to be I mean you can absolutely say that he looked pretty poised he you know certainly wasn't perfect but 23 of 30 I think for 185 yards a touchdown uh he threw the ball fairly well um you know Colorado is certainly not known for having a stellar Stellar defense but he absolutely found the guys he needed to he went and did the work that he needed to to move the ball never looked flustered he always looked in command he always looked kind of in control um again I don't know what his long-term prospects are but two games in I think he have to be pretty happy with the way the true freshman is playing especially if you expect him to develop if you expect him to get better under Matt rule which you'd be shocked if he doesn't but really good debut against the team that man let's let's face it Nebraska absolutely blew it against last year Colorado certainly saled away and and and extended the lead late but man this was a game that Nebraska absolutely should have been in um and and and kind of blew it uh early in the game um man Colorado couldn't stop the run you know 150 rushing yards if you take 150 plus if you take sack yardage away um Nebraska did whatever they wanted on the ground in the first half um and Colorado couldn't run the ball at all well they have 20 rushing yards I mean a little bit more than that if you take their sack yardage away which there were a lot of sacks we'll talk about in a moment uh but Colorado just never seemed comfortable they never seemed like they could get anything going um you know maybe got some stuff going and after it was too late after it was you know 28 nothing at the half and you're thinking man The Comeback here is is almost impossible but even then they kind of had their chances in the second half they got down close they couldn't score they you know they missed field goals they you I just it wasn't their best performance by any means um you know offensive line you know offensive line didn't look great last week against North Dakota State and then against a really good front uh in Nebraska they looked really really bad shador pretty be up all you know getting hit way too often still um absolutely no time to throw believe he was sacked six times and um I mean you almost feel bad for him he's got all the talent in the world he's got a really good receiving core um but man he he didn't have any time at all for guys to get down the field if they could have gotten down the field I think they could have taken advantage of of Nebraska secondary at times they just had no chance you know and and it was because of the defensive line match up against the offensive line it really wasn't competitive the p six was really really bad just a just a terrible decision I think he would know that I think that's what coach Prime was telling him on the sideline but it felt like it changed the game um and and made it where man this is going to be tough this is going to be tough for them to get it done when that pick six happened let me look at this play byplay real quick when that pick six happened was that yeah that was the second yeah that was to go up 14 um and they had they had turned it over on Downs once and then they forced Nebraska into a punt they forced him into a three out and then the interception touchdown made it incredibly tough to see how they would find a way to get back into it um Force feeding the ball and that drive didn't result in much of anything the Buffs weren't able to get any sacks on Colorado that defensive line that they kind of retooled and portal in you know Oak Lula and the other kid from P I thought that defensive line would be better they don't look much better now Nebraska has a very strong front Nebraska has better trenches than most teams they'll see in the Big 12 so that is a help um but man they they didn't really have an answer offense or defensive line for Nebraska meanwhile Nebraska had six sacks six sacks in one game that's absurd a sack and a half per quarter is nuts and the fourth quarter was almost all garbage time when you think about it like that they were absolutely had I mean they had Shor running for his life right even when they weren't sacking him they were hitting him they were knocking him down and and we had um Adam carer from The carer Chronicles I can't wait to finish recording this so I can go watch his uh reaction to this cuz I know he'll be super lit um but you know he talked about that even though last week North Dakota State wasn't getting the sacks they knocked him down a ton they hit him a ton and I you know he came out late in the game I think that's just because the game was over I don't think he was hurt or anything I you guys may know that better than me but you know watching this by now I'm recording it immediately after the game was over and didn't wait around for any press conferences or anything like that but um yeah you you I have a hard time seeing him make it through the whole year if they can't protect him better um that that's not me questioning his toughness he's probably the toughest kid on the team him or Travis um elite elite talents they I I just don't think they have enough around them um I I didn't think the coaching was especially good coach Prime wasted a lot of time um late in the first half before calling a timeout I think they lost about 10 seconds there could have helped move them a little bit closer to get that field goal a little bit closer they end up missing I don't know if it matters in the grand scheme of things but if you'd had it 28 13 then you're down two scores maybe it's slightly different I don't know um obviously Colorado lost the turnover batter everything that could go Nebraska's way did go their way right they lost the turnover battle 0o to2 um Colorado was extremely one-dimensional and so all the things you need to do to go on the road and beat a team that you're an underdog to Colorado didn't do they didn't run the ball well they lost the turnover battle they were one-dimensional they lost the game in the trench is they gave up more sacks and they and they didn't do what they needed to do best shador was kind of fish didn't have his best game under 300 yards you kind of thought if they're going to win he's going to need to go off and they weren't anywhere close to going off and I don't really that's not to me that's not shor's fault obviously had the pick six that clearly is his fault um but they just they weren't close to blocking to giving him enough time to get anything done where do both teams go from here well Colorado's got to go win their um rivalry game against Colorado State and if they don't win that I have a tough time projecting them to get into a bowl right it's tough for me to find five more wins in their last nine games not to say it's impossible there's certainly some winnable games on that schedule I think they beat Baylor I think they beat Cincinnati but when you look at their schedule they have a very tough one and if you can't be Nebraska and you can't beat Colorado State I start to question can you get get enough to get to that balll game that's that's what Colorado has to do they have to have their best week of practice they have to nut up and buck up a little bit um on those trenches and in that offens and defensive line if they want any shot at making a bow because it starts with beating Colorado State in their next game uh Nebraska what about for them well you're two and0 and we talked with Adam about this the schedule sets up somewhat nicely for Nebraska that that's not to say that they can take any team lightly they're going to play teams with much better trenches that Colorado had and they're going to have to get after it but they got Northern Iowa next that should be a win they got Illinois next Illinois actually looked pretty good today uh when they played and won against Kansas now Kansas didn't look great Daniels wasn't amazing by any means but they have Illinois Nebraska is going to be a favorite in that game they got to go two Purdue they play records they play Indiana before they play Ohio State I think they've got a really good chance to be what would that be six and0 seven and0 6-1 by the time they play Ohio State if they're 6-1 7-0 Ohio State should probably be pretty close to undefeated too that could be a really big matchup obviously late in the year they've got UCLA USC who looked really really good week one against LSU Wisconsin Iowa Iowa who lost today I think there's a lot of games on this schedule that are winnable for Nebraska in fact I think they could win any game on this schedule the Ohio State one might be tough to see especially up there at the shoe but but I think it's wide open for Nebraska right now that said they can't get too high on their own Supply right they can't start drinking their own Kool-Aid too much yet because I do think that they had a really really nice game against Colorado this is not the end all Beall this is not the oh well you beat Colorado so everybody else is just going to lay down in front of you now you went out you played a really good game you made Colorado onedimensional but the warning and what Matt rule will tell his team that the the the the get 24 hours to celebrate Mantra is in effect here because if you are celebrating this in the next week and into the next week somebody else is going to beat you I don't necessarily think that it would be Northern Iowa but you you you don't Focus for Illinois you don't focused for some which Illinois I think that's a Friday night right 9:20 that's not the weekend I think that you you really have to turn it on and make sure that you're prepared fortunately that game in Lincoln I think they're going to win it but again Illinois looked really good this weekend and so you have to keep your mind right you have to keep your mind right if you're in Nebraska you can't let I mean this is a big big win and this game means a lot for them and you you bring on everything that coach Prime brings on with it and the game means even more but you it was one win and now it's done right celebrate it tonight the fans are going to celebrate it for a few days that's fine you got to move on from it you got to move on from from it and get back to work Nebraska's got bigger goals than just beating Colorado right and with a first year true freshman starting quarterback they they've got goals that are pretty big right and and it's going to be tough not going to be easy to hit some of those goals but they need to get back to work Matt rues seems like he absolutely has this program training in the right direction after a a better year uh you know not not necessarily the year they would want last year but a year where they feel like they're trending up this year recruiting trending up everything kind of going in the right direction feels like this was a big win a big win for the program a big win for Matt rule a big win for rayola and as big of a win as it was for them a tough pretty tough one for Coach prime a pretty tough one for Colorado it's not just that they lost they were an underdog in this game they didn't look close in this game it wasn't they weren't inches away they they didn't lose it on the last second field goal uh where they could build upon it they need to go back to the drawing board and figure some stuff out because some of the struggles they had against an FCS program in North Dakota State showed up tonight against a power four program and they got taken to the Woodshed and they absolutely got uh just uh dominated in every aspect of the game and it's got to get better Jimmy horn had some nice plays nice kick return you know we could go on and on and pick out small victories for Colorado but just not even close to to good enough to win tonight um Nebraska massive massive step in the right direction they're going to be a fun team to cover we will cover them all year and we will continue to talk about them we I I'm not uh I'm not as big as some guys I can't talk about every single team in college football but this game really stood out to me Nebraska fans
