SPOTS TO COOL OFF IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. YEAH. YOU KNOW, SOME RARE SEPTEMBER HEAT COMING. WE COULD RIVAL SOME RECORD HIGHS, MAYBE BREAK YESTERDAY TO WALK AROUND BIT OF A DRIZZLY MIST. YES, WAS REALLY NICE TO SEE THAT CHANGING. A LOT OF FOLKS ENJOYED THE COOLER MORNING. SOME OF THE DRIZZLE OUT THERE, TOO. I KNOW THIS PUP HERE IN OUR PET WALK FORECAST. >> LIKELY DID SNUGGLING UP WITH A BLANKET HERE. THIS IS FRED, UNDERNEATH THE COVER. SO CUTE. SO THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS AGAIN TODAY. NOT AS MUCH DRIZZLE AND WE ARE STARTING TO MOVE BACK INTO A SUNNIER PATTERN AGAIN. SO THE AFTERNOON EXPECT TO SEE A MOSTLY SUNNY FINISH. >> WE'LL KEEP THE CLOUDS AROUND THIS MORNING. SO IF YOU ARE STEPPING OUTSIDE, EXPECT A GREATER START WILL HOVER IN THE UPPER 50'S TO LOW 60'S, MAYBE JACKET WEATHER. BUT BY THE AFTERNOON HERE BACK IN A T-SHIRT, UPPER 70'S TODAY AND A GREAT DAY TO HIT THE PARK, MAYBE BRING SOME WATER FOR THE PUPS AND PETS OUT THERE. BUT A GREAT DAY BACK IN THE SUNSHINE FOR THE AFTERNOON. NOW, AS WE START, THERE'S A PEEK AT THOSE CLOUDS WERE EVER SO SLOWLY BUILDING UP SOME DAYLIGHT AND AGAIN TAKES UNTIL ABOUT 6 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING TO FINALLY SEE SOME DAYLIGHT. BUT RIGHT NOW WE'RE SITTING AT 64 DEGREES IN PORTLAND AND A NICE VIEW OF PORTLAND. THEY'RE LIT UP THIS MORNING AS WE GET OUR TUESDAY GOING. HERE'S OUR SATELLITE RADAR. SO LOOKING AT THE SIZE, THE STATE HERE WHERE I AM SEEING A LINE OF STORMS THAT HAVE BEEN A THROWING LIGHTNING AROUND IN THIS REGION HERE RIGHT AROUND THE I-84 INTERSTATE THERE OUT OF BAKER CITY OUT TO ENTERPRISE IN THE FOOTHILLS OF THE WILL MOUNTAINS. SO WE'LL KEEP OUR EYES ON THIS. IT'S A LOW SYSTEM THAT IS STILL SPINNING ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE STATE THAT WILL BRING THUNDERSTORMS BACK IN THE MIX THIS AFTERNOON ON THE WEST SIDE HERE IN PORTLAND. WE'RE BACK UNDER QUIETER CONDITIONS AND WILL MOVE BACK UNDER SUNSHINE LATER TODAY, TOO. SO BEAUTIFUL AFTERNOON ON THE WAY FOR US, AT LEAST IN PORTLAND. NOW, HERE'S OUR FUTURE CAST. YOU CAN SEE THE STORM STILL BREWING HERE AS THAT LOW SYSTEM SPINS AROUND AND MOVES IN IDAHO. SO WE'LL START TO SEE MORE THUNDERSTORMS REVVING UP HERE IN THE AFTERNOON. HEAT MORE SO TOWARDS THE OREGON IDAHO BORDER AND JUST OUTSIDE OF BOISE AS WE START TO GET RID OF THAT THUNDERSTORM THREAT FOR EASTERN OREGON BY LATE TONIGHT. BUT LOOK AT PORTLAND HERE. WE WILL PUSH THOSE CLOUDS OUT AND MOVE BACK UNDER SUNSHINE TODAY. SO A WONDERFUL AFTERNOON AND EVENING SHAPING UP AS YOU SEE, MORE QUIET, DRIER WEATHER BACK IN PLACE FOR OUR TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES FOR THE COAST TODAY BACK IN THE MID UPPER 60'S TO LOWER 70'S. ALSO THAT CLOUDY START OUT THERE. BUT A SUNNY FINISH JUST A PLEASANT DAY FOR THE COASTLINE IN PORTLAND TODAY WILL LIKELY WRAP UP OR AFTERNOON ON EITHER SIDE OF 80 DEGREES HERE. MAYBE THE UPPER 70'S OR LOWER 80'S AND THAT SUNSHINE ON THE WAY FOR US AFTER LUNCH TODAY. EXPECT TO SEE FEWER CLOUDS AS THEY TAPER DOWN AND MORE BLUE SKIES ON THE WAY. SALEM TODAY. YOU FOLKS MIGHT END UP AROUND 82 DEGREES AS WE HIT THE AFTERNOON. SO A WONDERFUL DAY TO GET OUTSIDE HERE. WE ARE GETTING RID OF THAT COOLER PATTERN AND MOVING BACK UNDER HIGH PRESSURE HERE. SO THERE'S BIG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE THAT'S SENDING OUR JET STREAM TOWARDS THE NORTH. WE'RE GOING TO PUSH ALL THE CLOUDS OUT UP TOWARDS THE NORTH GET RID OF THIS CLOUDY WEATHER HERE. INSTEAD, HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING A NICE BIG DOME SETTING UP RIGHT AROUND THE WEST COAST, WHICH IS COM PATTERN HERE. NOT MUCH RAIN IN THESE TYPES OF PATTERNS, BUT WE START TO SEE SOME HEAT AND YOU CAN REALLY FEEL IT IN THE SUMMERTIME. WHEN HIGH PRESSURE SETS UP. SO WE ARE EXPECTING TO SEE ANOTHER HEAT WAVE COMING OFF OF THE ONE THAT HAPPENED JUST OVER THE WEEKEND. WE HIT 99 DEGREES LAST SATURDAY. LOOK AT THESE TEMPERATURES TO COME THIS WEEK HERE AGAIN. TODAY WILL BE ONE OF OUR COOLER DAYS OF THE NEXT HANDFUL HERE. BUT BY TOMORROW, WE'RE HEATING THINGS UP. WE'LL SEE YOU AGAIN. THAT HIGH PRESSURE SETTING UP IN A LOT OF STRONG SUNSHINE FOR THE AFTERNOON. COULD TOP OUT SOMEWHERE IN THE MID 90'S. THEN WE GET TO THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. TRIPLE DIGIT WEATHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ABOUT 4 DECADES POSSIBLE AS WE HIT THURSDAY, WE COULD NEAR OR BREAK RECORD HIGHS 101 IS THE FORECAST RIGHT NOW. THAT COULD JUST A BIT. MAYBE 102 IS WHERE WE END UP. SO DANGEROUS. HEAT POSSIBLE WILL LIKELY SIT IN THE UPPER 90'S THROUGH FRIDAY. TUNE AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY RARE SEPTEMBER HEATWAVE. THE TRIPLE DIGITS USUALLY DON'T HAPPEN IN SEPTEMBER. SO WE'LL KEEP OUR EYES ON THURSDAY. BE READY FOR THE HEAT. WE'LL SEE THE 90'S LIKELY THROUGH SATURDAY.
