PORTLAND CW. I GOTTA SAY SOME LIST I WAS OUT AND ABOUT TODAY AND THERE'S JOSH OUTSIDE TAKING BEAUTIFUL EVENING PICTURES TONIGHT. YEAH. AND JUST DOING YOUR THING. CAPTURING HOW LOVELY IT IS OUT THERE. BUT ALSO JUST PERFECT CONDITIONS. IT REALLY WAS PICTURE PERFECT THIS EVENING WILL CONTINUE TO SEE NICE EVENINGS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. JUST LIKE WHAT YOU'RE SEEING HERE. >> WITH A BIT OF A NICE BREEZE TO HELP KEEP CONDITIONS. COOL. WE'LL BE WATCHING THAT BREEZE TO CONTINUE FOR US AS WE PREPARE FOR THE SUMMER HEAT TO BUILD ACROSS OUR AREA ONCE MORE. RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE TAKING A LIVE LOOK OUT OVER DOWNTOWN PORTLAND ON THIS WEDNESDAY EVENING. AS OUR TEMPERATURES ARE HOLDING STEADY IN THE MID 60'S, EXPECT YOU WILL ON TO THOSE CLEAR SKIES WELL INTO THE MORNING HOURS AS THE SUNRISE WITH CLOUD-FREE CONDITIONS. THAT MEANS THAT THAT SUNSHINE IS REALLY GOING TO START TO WARM THINGS BACK UP FOR US HERE ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, AS WE GOT A NICE NORTHWESTERLY FLOW GUSTS NEARING ABOUT 10 TO 15 MILES PER HOUR THROUGH THE REST OF THIS EVENING. BUT YOU'LL NOTICE CLOUD-FREE CONDITIONS AND THAT WILL BE THE CASE. IS HIGH PRESSURE REALLY STARTS LOCK INTO THE WESTERN HALF OF THE COUNTRY. THIS RIDGE, IT'S THE CULPRIT FOR THE EXCESSIVE HEAT THAT WE WILL SEE RETURN TO OUR AREA. SO WE'RE TALKING ABOUT LOW 90'S TO MID TO UPPER 90'S AS WE WORK OUR WAY THROUGH THE REST OF THIS WEEK. BUT IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THE COOLER WEATHER, THIS CUTOFF LOW WILL HELP BREAK UP THAT HEAT STREAK THAT WE EXPECT TO SEE LASTING FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. YOU CAN SEE UP IN A PRETTY CLEARLY HERE. JUST LOOK AT SOME OF THESE DAYTIME HIGHS BACK TO THE LOW TO MID 90'S, NEARING RECORD-BREAKING CONDITIONS. I DON'T THINK WE'LL TIE OR BREAK ANY RECORDS BUT STILL WELL ABOVE THE AVERAGE OF 81. WE GET BACK TO THAT AVERAGE BY THE TIME WE MOVE INTO THE UNOFFICIAL INTO THE SUMMER SEASON, WHICH IS MONDAY ON LABOR DAY. BUT BOY HAS AUGUST BROUGHT US SOME HIGH HIGHS AND SOME LOW LOWS. BOTH HER DAYTIME HIGHS APPROACHING THE TRIPLE-DIGIT MARK FOR THE SPURS OF THE MONTH. BUT WE FALLING AS LOW AS THOSE 60'S FOR DAYTIME HIGHS. SO WHEN THE AVERAGE ALL THOSE UP, WE'RE ONLY ABOUT A HALF A DEGREE WARMER THAN WHAT WE TYPICALLY SEE IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST. NOW YOU'LL NOTICE THOSE WINDS COMING UP AND OVER THE MOUNTAINS. THOSE ARE THE DOWN SLOPING WINDS MAKING THINGS A LITTLE BIT ON THE BREEZIER SIDE BUT ALSO HELPING TO WARM THINGS UP AS WE MOVE OUR WAY THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT COASTAL SPOTS POTENTIALLY GETTING UP INTO THE LOW TO MID 80'S IN SOME CASES AS THE SUMMER HEAT AND THE SUMMER SUNSHINE CONTINUES TO BAKE US THROUGH THE I-5 CORRIDOR. 56 DEGREES. THAT'S WHERE WE EXPECT FALL TO TONIGHT. HERE'S WHAT'S ON TAP FOR TOMORROW. 70'S 80'S FOR THE COASTLINE. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TO GO AROUND THE I-FIVE CORRIDOR. BACK UP TO THE LOW 90'S MIGHT BE A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM. CRACK OPEN THOSE WINDOWS TONIGHT BEFORE THE HEAT BUILDS OUT TOWARDS THE EAST AND EVEN UP IN ELEVATION. EXPECTING TO SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES GET BACK INTO THE UPPER 70'S. NOW FOR THE THORNS GAME ON FRIDAY. YEAH, IT'S GOING TO BE TOASTY OUT THERE. 90 DEGREES BY THE TIME. THE GAME BEGINS. AND FOR THOSE OF US HEADING DOWN TO EUGENE FOR THE DUCKS GAME AT AUTZEN STADIUM. 96, I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOOTBALL SEASON. MOTHER NATURE HAD OTHER IDEAS WITH 94 OUT TOWARDS RESEARCH STADIUM FOR SATURDAY, 7 DAY FORECAST. WE'VE GOT TO HAVE BEEN ISSUED TO KOIN 6 WEATHER ALERT FOR FRIDAY SATURDAY. THAT COMES AS THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS HEAT ONCE AGAIN RETURNS. BUT FOR THOSE FALL LOVERS MONDAY, TUESDAY, THOSE ARE GOING TO BE YOUR DAYS OF THE WEEK AS WE EXPECT TO SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES GET BACK TO A REALITY. WHAT'S TYPICAL FOR US IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST? SO WE JUST GOT TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. IF YOU'RE HEADING OUT TO THE OREGON STATE, FAIR DRINK, PLENTY OF WATER. STAY HYDRATED. THEY GOT GREAT LEMONADE OUT THERE.
