Florida Atlantic vs. Michigan State: Week One

[Applause] welcome to East Lancing Michigan Spartan Stadium and home of the Michigan State Spartans there's just something about the night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we'll see a squad from the AAC the Florida Atlantic owls taking on a team from the Big 10 the Michigan State spart for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse and guys can't wait to get this [Music] [Applause] [Music] started FAU will deliver the opening kickoff and we'll get this game rolling and he takes this from inside the five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so Michigan State this offense takes the field for the first time today and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line and defense nowadays they don't look at stats of what is the yards per rush they look at how many negative plays they can create cuz why now you look at second down man it just became very predictable for this offense nice job creating the loss on first down get some work done there pick up of four to the 22 just a simple power play again not sexy run the ball up the middle physicality offensive line gets to assert themselves run block what they love to do this pays dividends down the road in the fourth quarter didn't take long to need a clutch play on the opening drive it's third and seven to the air it's child throws to the wide out he's got an open man and they'll do more than move the chains they'll move that thing more than 30 yd down the field before he's finally stopped and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back end for this defense moving [Applause] forward the lone backs got it not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven all right well the offense here to trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven now the play fake got it in the middle it's Carter and they pick up just a few on that completion yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play a wide receiver basically for you but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently that last completion still leaving them with a third [Applause] down to the ground to try to pick up the first he is tackled but it'll be a fresh Center down got to have short are of quickness that running back there doing what it takes to make sure he got that first [Applause] down and the Spartans are on the move [Applause] comes out throwing on first down catch in the middle it's Foster they make the stop right there good pick up and still short in the first down when you run your slant route and it's against manto man one thing you know you're going to get is hit when that wide receiver catches the football Slants don't open up wide open linebackers are going to be there safeties are going to be there so you got to be able to take that hit and hold on to that football they'll go to the ground finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down man this guy just has a lot of skills when he's toe The Rock doesn't he's got speed but he's also physical kind of reminds you of great Michigan State running backs guys like Le'Veon Bell or TJ Ducket they could run guys over but once they got in the second level they could take it the distance this guy has skills like that it'll be a draw headed to the end zone and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown Michigan State well you know this offensive coordinator strips his opening 10 15 plays and he didn't even need that they went nine plays and scored a touchdown everything working perfectly they look like a well oiled machine this game [Applause] lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is good and it's 7 nothing so it's an 80 yd drive and the house call coming on the run from the 23 about to kick it off off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown he'll bring it back looking for help and the coverage team able to make the [Music] tackle so for Atlantic this offense will go to work for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up in big games like [Applause] this FAU racing to the line they go to the draw really good job to pick up a chunk of yardage and get it out to the 39 yd line just a great job by the quarterback the running back the offensive line sneaky little Devils what do they do make it look like pass sneak in the Run catch you off guard great play call by the offense this crowd trying to make life miserable for this offense might as well give it to him again not much working there it'll be second and nine I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job game tackling this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs didn't get much on first down it's second and nine try to get the edge with a quick touch pass a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 and these little touch passes man they're just the easiest completions ever for quarterback I bet you would have loved being able to just Flip It Forward that counts to your completion percentage which is good and then it's all run after the catch so pretty easy for a QV you wouldn't have been the only allamerican boot if I were allowed to have Push passes when I was playing quarterback I'll tell you that it is so hard to defend it's so hard to seal that edge especially when this guy full Speed Ahead coming around the inside he might have expected to see this DB up in his receiver's kitchen instead nice little Zone and they pick up the first man offenses are getting so good ree at seeing the holes in the zone knowing you're in zone knowing where to sit down how to make it an easy pitch and catch for the quarterback and that's what it was on Third and short holds and fires complete to the right and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a I don't know if that's the coverage you want throwing WI receiver screens hands often times you want the receivers to have some access you want the DVS to be off a couple yards you can help set up the blocks and give the receiver somewhere to go with it it's hard to run that against press coverage and they only picked up a few yards there they'll give it to the back that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there [Music] better fly the a plug here comes the noise backing this defense on third down back to throw it's fer quickly complete he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down and on that third and short I don't think he was unhappy to see that zone nope it was a great job by the offense hey see where the holes in the zone are sit down you only need a little bit of yards on this third down get the conversion move the FAU working with a fresh set of downs he'll pull it on the read he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple I'll tell you this is a hard defense to run against if you're going to go sideline to sideline because of that guy's speed linebacker he can get all the way to the perimeter chase the quarterback down on the option and make the tackle behind the line of scrimmage impressive the negative play leaves him with second and 12 quick pass on the Fly motion can't get him to the ground tackled after picking up the first down I love that play call and I love the timing of the pre-nap motion because the quarterback was able to get it to the receiver right behind the offensive line because of the timing he was able to outflank the defense that puts him out in space where he's able to use his speed nice job with the pre-nap motion and timeing they'll give it to Johnson they get him stopped after a two- yd game ball is at the [Applause] [Applause] 17 the crowd getting behind this defense as they try to get a stop in the Red Zone on second down he's looking downfield got got him down field and the catch and run into the end zone touchdown out number Z and what a nice start for this offense the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense [Music] [Applause] getting set for the point after ex and it's up and good they put it in the end zone with a 12pl scoring drive and the score comes on a 17 yd throw for the touchdown and we're all square as he set to kick it [Applause] away returner is going to try to see what he can get really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball running to the left Nifty run there pick up of six out through the 25 coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you could run without that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four back to throw it's child he looks that one in nicely and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down Hey listen as a receiver you're running that hitch route against man coverage you can't loaf on it right I know it's just a little short throw but you've got to make the defender think you might be going deep so a nice job not just taking it easy on the play he put his foot in the ground he drove back to the ball and made it easy on his quarterback on the Move couldn't find a lane a pick up of one to the 31 and that's what you try to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations down the road didn't get much on first down it's second and nine takes a hand off it's Carter he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man what a spectacular play by that defensive end to come up with the tackle there and you see those guys get off the football so fast most of these guys are 250 to 275 lbs but they get off the ball fast low and the offensive lineman they have no chance to stop those guys as quick and as fast as they are caught in the back field it's Gat he ended up losing yardage on the play and that'll bring up fourth down getting suffocated right away how about the DB just seeing that initially pulling the trigger getting to him get him on the ground get the tackle for a loss the Spartans line up to pun it away signals for the fair Catch and holds it in just shy of the 30 FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense gets a stop and now it's up to them an En tie game all right so if you're the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best matchups and best Playmakers to take advantage of this golden opportunity yeah and I'm interested to see this defense too like the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back how do you make a big play do you be more aggressive here to try to get the football back to your offense looking to throw it's fer looking to scramble he'll try to do it himself and he Scoops his way to the first down and then slides to avoid the hit you see a lot of quarterbacks get in trouble when they start forcing things he did a really good job he wanted to throw the football you could tell drops back nothing open it's okay I'm just going to take off get what I can get it's first and 10 for this offense from the 42 the give to the running back from the shotgun still on his feet at the 45 he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down defense is going to have their hands full trying to stop this guy they better rally to the football and get multiple hats cuz he is not easy to bring down FAU racing to the line [Applause] wants to throw on first down got him in it's Tucker and he's down after the short completion he did not make it to the first down Mark nice Patience by the quarterback here working against Zone coverage he was allowing his receiver an opportunity to find that open space in the def defense before pulling the Trigg got the completion on the last play still some work to do on second down hand off from the gun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple that linebacker saw the express lane right from the ball carry and a great job by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes free to make it back f for a tackle for L third and short from the 26 pretty easy field goal range but they'd love to pick up the first and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down got to give the defense credit on that play taking everything away forcing the incompletion now it's decision time fourth and short in you're in field goal range what do you do here they'll play it safe and try for three he'll try to put up the three ball from 43 yds away never a doubt and with that field goal they now have the lead that 10 Michigan State [Music] [Applause] so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it [Applause] away on the run from inside his own five he's got great speed he's on the loose just a tremendous return great run great speed and vision to really set up this offense he almost got totally loose on that one they'll ride the running back and leave it with it really nice stop there from this senior leader oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack after picking up a couple at second and eight right back to him on the ground ground and he doesn't find much Running Room a short gain on the [Music] [Applause] play a third and long coming up here to throw it's child got his man on the right good job running that right to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch and had they not picked up that first down it would have been decision time for the head coach right you're kind of in no man's land on the fridge are you trying along field goal are you going for it on fourth down but because of the execution there and the nice throw let's keep this drive going let's see if we can get six wide receiver coming across in motion I crease up the 20 and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play well the defense knew coming into this one Reese that this team was going to try to use their speed and take advantage of it and they did right there nice gain on the Run play to the right found plenty of Running Room in that defense they've got to find a way to get there and make the tackle in the open field yeah and they got to do a good job with their eyes finding the football and they've got to get a lot of bodies to this guy cuz he is fat he makes a grab and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play and on that outbreaking route really it's designed for the to make the catch the coach wants the officials to have another look at the monitor using a timeout here thinks the call is going to end up going his [Applause] way he spun that Wheel of Fortune by challenging the call and it does not go his way and he loses the time out out this should be the last play of the [Applause] quarter trying to get the edge with the Jet Sweep they'll knock him down behind the line and that's how we'll end this quarter we reached the end of the quarter fa has the lead we put one in the books Let's have a look at our game summary [Music] [Applause] of time left and we're ready to get back to it and open the second period boy they love to move the sticks here and take a shot at it on first and goal and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up well on Third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on on fourth down it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal and it's right down the Boulevard and the kick is good and guys we have ourselves in tie ball [Music] game and we're all square as he set to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside his SP nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the FAU offense will return to the field Jesse they had to kick a field goal the last time they had it yeah of times early in games you're just trying to find your Rhythm some things work some don't on that first drive dve it be interesting to see what happens here in the second Drive yeah you got to feel for the defense now you understand what they're trying to do what their game plan is now you get to go into phase two of your game plan now on second and short after that pickup the hand off to Johnson still running up the 40 he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense you know as a defense you can have the right call and the right guy in the right spot but that guy's just too good and how about the running back on that play just making it happen breaking off the huge game it's tough to get these guys on the ground [Applause] they're getting this guy lathered up and they'll bring him to the ground after a short gain yeah the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tiple r the football be consistent make that defense physically meet the challenge picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down the give to the the tail back just a solid stop by this [Applause] [Music] sophomore Here Comes This Old crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down looking to throw it's fer finds his big tight end that'll get the job done in move the chains and they'll Mark the ball at the 45 it's not a great feeling on defense too when you're blitzing you're expecting to get a sack you're expecting to get a hit on the quarterback if the offensive line and running backs pick it up uh-oh because now you have one less guy in the back end trying to cover all these receivers and tight ends and you know you're in trouble to the air on first down feeling some heat nowhere to go and the ball is loose picks up the ball and tries has to make something of it the ball security doesn't just apply to running backs and receivers QB's got to keep two hands out on the ball as well they're very lucky after that fumble that the offense jumped on and wait just a second the officials going to take a second look at this one so after reviewing the undisputable video evidence the replay booth has decided to overturn the call he's back to throw on second down snagged in the middle it's Alexander they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks and that's a situation right there where the quarterback is just taking what the defense givs the defense has taken everything away down the field just take the easy throwing seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down from the gun wants to pass and he was hit just as he released it and it falls to the turf oh you know what time it is when the defense gets that stop on third down fist up in the air nice job getting to the quarterback putting some pressure on him hitting him forcing the incompletion four down baby fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 the give to the back they knock him down but not before he gets it out to the 21 yd line pick up a four that's a really nice play it's impressive when it's first down the defense thinks you might be running the football you still can line up you get some movement at the point of attack and find a little crease for your running back after the productive first down play it's second and six dropping back it's child receiver looks it in it's complete he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game and they got the completion but still looking at a third down they'll try to power their way ahead he'll move it up to the 37 yd line and it'll be a first down big third down conversion getting the ball to your running back and he does the rest this guy I think will get a lot more touches and you want to know why he's on the field on third down because he can block he can catch the ball and you can also hand it off to him and he can go find the sticks and keep drives alive what a weapon they'll throw it on first down and they knocked him down almost immediately how about that Mike linebacker bringing the heat right up the middle right down Broadway right in the middle of the defense this the guy that sees everything makes all the calls and you could tell he knew where he was coming downhill it came wide open and he comes to the quarterback and gets the [Applause] sack a first first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 off the play fake he's going to let one fly down the middle oh picked off bringing it back and they capitalize not only on the pick but the great return to give the offense tremendous field position he is showing you why he's so versatile as a strong safety this is a guy that we've seen come down to the Box support the Run he can tackle out in space but he's also really good on the back end in coverage that time in the cover two look doing a great job with his eyes he also shows you off the ball skills making that pick FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do you and attack them went to the running game on first down now second down fast motion from the [Applause] offense the gift to the back tackle is made after the first down this is a guy that can find you the hidden yardage that play he just pushes the pile to get that first down now they've moved it just inside the 40 first and 10 from the [Applause] 39 looking for a man it's fer fires to the big fella they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here really good job working through his progression you get it to him quickly and the big tight end has a chance to run a little and a really good job by the QB throwing an accurate throw I I got to hit those guys on the Move On The Run so they can do this they can catch the football get up field and chew up some extra yards grab behind the line it's Tucker and that is a Nifty bit of navigation to get through that traffic and get the first down nice completion here to this wide receiver and you're going to see this receiver line up in different spots all over the field all game long defense has got to keep their eye on where this guy is because they know he's a big part of this offensive [Applause] success going up top on first down makes the grab it's Alexander and they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down Mark he saw man coverage and the idea just get it to my receiver as quickly as I can and let him work David see man and see the cushion and see the guy backed up a little bit now I know I can get it to him right now and get a positive [Applause] game off play action getting some heat nowhere close on that one as he got drilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down yeah this offense might want to think about moving the launch point for this QB because if you take hits like that from the pocket it's really tough to complete passes third down in this crowd is tearing the lid off this [Applause] place from the gun wants to pass pocket starts to collapse and the defense had its hands for but they finally wrestle him down short of the first down great job rallying the football by this defense third down QB's trying to extend the play but great team speed on defense Now setting up four and for the second time tonight they'll try out for field goal kicker thought he had it and couldn't get it through the upright team Miss and after the Miss field goal guys we are still locked up [Music] [Applause] Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense after that last pick David they really need to take care of the ball this time no doubt and Palmer I want to know what spur said to you on the sideline after a pick do that again and you'll be right here beside me for the rest of the game you got to go out you got to call your plays and I hope this coaching staff isn't going to be afraid to throw it this drive and the Spartans want to crank the [Applause] tempo they're going to run it to the right able to SC three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knock out punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven hand off from the shotgun they get him on the ground but not before he gets it up for the first down the green and white love that tough guy reputation and they're getting it done on the ground yeah that's his exactly who this program is that's what they're built on every team you go back in the history of Michigan State you're going to find what a Bellow running back that you can feed takes a hand off it's Carter and you want to run the footall that's okay you'll take some of these but if they start to add up down the road obviously you might want to think about airing it out a little [Applause] bit didn't get much on first down it's second and nine back to pass it's child finds his big tight end crosses the 30 he got away and it is well blocked as they pick up enough for a first down Spartan very efficient with this passing game you like that Reese you like that I think so this is an offense that listen when you've got a guy back there that that can be efficient make no mistake they're going to run the football but when you get that KK cousins guys you start to really like the offense quickly complete really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense get the first down must be nice for this quarterback knowing he's got this type of athlete playing the tight end position that can work the middle of the field form him he's a guy who can stretch it vertically as well but this is a guy the QB will look for early and often in this game the Spartans will snap it on First and 10 motion from the offense going to the r it's Carter that's a fumble on the play and the defense jumps on it they get that turnover I tell you honestly I don't know what that player could have done to hold on to that football that Defender absolutely popped him he knocked him into next week there was no chance he was holding on to that ball the FAU offense will return to the field you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and missed the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice you got to keep that in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher [Applause] level and the owls headed quickly to the line [Applause] a most efficient pick up of six on first down it's second and four it's the emo of this offense and they really put a lot on the offensive line to go out and really try and establish their dominance and their assertiveness and they've done a good job of that early in this game running the football offense gets set for second down one back in the back field and they'll give it to it that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle [Music] there decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down now to the air it's fer gets it out fast they make the stop but not before they do their work up top and pick up a first down ever since they invented the forward pass the tight ends have been running the drag and getting the first down I I think it's because the tight ends is so much versatility you know they can block and stay in the formation or they can release and come out but either way if the quarterback's patient most of the time that drag route's going to come in give to the running back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one while the linebacker showing you read and react he knew exactly where that running play was going and he beat the football to the line of scrimmage and force the [Applause] tfl Lost yardage on that last one it's second and 11 he's looking to throw unloads to the wide out a strike downfield he's brought down but there's a flag on the field let's see what the [Applause] defense the big gain on offense and the play will stand the offense declines the penalty we'll take a quick break here two minutes to play in the first [Applause] half the owls are moving quickly down the field [Applause] looking to move it through the air that's caught it's Johnson didn't pick up aot there moved it Forward just a few what's important in this game this offense gets the running back involved out of the perimeter in space where you can do some damage that time they got it to him throwing the football he picked up a couple yards but it gives the defense something to think about and now on second down for this offense he's looking to throw into the end zone and it's caught touchdown out and I just love the execution by this offense late in the half man you want to take the lead you want to get that momentum on your side and they do it they finish it with the passing game I tell you what heat that passing game up you can keep this lead keep the momentum and keep putting up numbers [Applause] lining up to add another is for the exra point and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven so a drive there of 85 yds and the finisher an 18yd touchdown throw they're lining up to boot it [Applause] away he thought about bringing that out for a half second but he'll take a knee and they'll bring it to the 25 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball he's looking to throw it grabbed in the middle it's brown and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few and a really nice job by the wide receiver you run a drag route find Space they're in zone coverage they're not covering manto man find a little hole look at that QB y'all get on the same page you could tell they were and that's why they got the first half quick Tempo no huddle off and second down clock's running good timing on the quick out there's a timeout call as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer a completion but not quite enough for the first down third down coming for this offense wants to throw it's child fires to the big fella and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one well they pick up the firstand Zone coverage I think a big part of this for young quarterbacks out there is if you're going to be throwing into Zone coverage you got to throw on time you can't stare down receivers because the entire defense has their eyes on you so you can't Telegraph where the ball's going you've got to hold it to the very last possible second try to freeze Defenders with your eyes and then throw the ball into open areas of the field anticipating where your gu's going to be he's loose here's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half and you're seeing here the difficulties defenses have trying to contain this guy if you leave a lane open or you don't sack him right away you allow him to get outside the pocket he is going to take off and he is very difficult to tackle in the open field he's got running back like ability out in space and they finally get him stopped but it's a big throw cat catch and he's down at the five That's What's So Scary About This offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play and backed up first and goal this defense fighting to hold the lead and carry it to the locker room from the gun looking for a man he's got and he will score touchdown Sparty and the passing game comes through man and we need more of that in the second half an extra point away from tying this football game Trail a little bit in the first half stayed calm but this passing game can continue to heat up look out a second [Applause] half he'll try to tack on one more exra [Applause] bangs it through for an extra point so that was a six Place 75 yd drive and the score comes on a 5yd touchdown pass after that latus answerer tied things up just about set to kick it away again he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 makes a move he just about popped that one for a long one but as it is he gives his team a lot of momentum with a solid return dropping back it's fer wofs one high and deep incomplete they took a shot to wrap up the half and came up empty that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update all right guys looks like we've got a fascinating one going on in East Lancing each of these two offenses has looked like well oiled machines but it doesn't take a genius to figure out these two passing attacks have run circles around these defenses man or Zone nothing seems to be working and I'm not sure that defensive coordinator is going to be able to figure things out here at half time and with that let's head back to the place they've been playing football for more than 100 years Spartan Stadium [Music] and the Spartans will kick it away to start the second [Applause] half he'll start to return inside his spot didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been a good game I mean it's been a little a little bit of back and forth and a feeling out process and now once you get in the second half who's going to get aggressive Palmer who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about these coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we're going to find out here FAU racing to the line [Applause] out of the gun they give to the back you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down solid pick up for four on first down it's second and six looking downfield it's fer quick strike complete at the 40 there he goes offense on the move a big play there gets it to the 30 well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time time right there now they'll run the draw tough sledding there as he picks up one to the [Music] 29 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine they try to pop a run on the draw they'll give him one to the 28 yd [Applause] line defense getting stingier in their own end of the field it's third and long from the 28th from the gun wants to pass with the catch it's Johnson and boy is he Clos to that first down maybe just a couple of inches short and after that short completion what will they do now just a few inches to go yeah and you wanted to get the ball out quick and you wanted your receiver to make the play for you get the first down you don't now decision time fourth and short thought maybe they would consider the field goal here but the offense is staying out there on fourth down the pitch got her enough space touchdown out and with that they've got the lead here in the second half number seven and this is why you consistently run the football a steady diet because you can break the long touchdown runs nice job breaking through the line of scrimmage out running the rest getting in for the long touchdown [Music] [Applause] they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven so an 82 yd drive there and the score came on an impressive run from the 20 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] Drive he'll bring it out it's brown he stopped at the 23 a couple yards short of where he would have been with a Touchback Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense David they'd love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well colmer they EX and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels the Spartans want to pick up the [Applause] tempo wide out in motion here's the hand off Forge is ahead picks up about three to the 29 third [Applause] coming they'll try to muscle their way forward on Third and short from the 29 dropping back it's child it's incomplete and he's lucky to get that one back almost intercepted and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of a look that they got they weren't successful and now it's Fourth and short territory who knows what they're going to do and the Spartans will bring the punt team onto the field this will be the second time they've had to kick it [Applause] away everybody stays in their Lanes well enough and they stop him at the 31 yd line the FAU offense will return to the field Jesse looking to take it down the field for backto back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance right you want to be able to keep this defense guessing problem yeah and you got me searching for answers after that last drive you stack another drive on top of this their defense's heads are going to be spinning all over didn't connect last time let's see if they throw it again on second down it's a draw good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 and often times running backs love because there's less traffic in front of them the offensive line is selling pass the quarterback selling pass they don't get the hand off until the very last possible second so the D Line's rushed away up field and now it's so much easier for these backs to find their holes and pick their LS caught in the back field it's Alexander he gets it oh so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short well they were counting on winning the one-on-one battle they got the completion but the yardage didn't work out yeah and a lot of times man that's what I do on short yard situation third and short make my guy fall forward for a couple yards try to get the first down but it was a good tackle and the receiver got absolutely nowhere after the catch signals for the fair Catch and that's where they'll put put it in play just outside the 20 the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this after picking up a couple at second and eight [Applause] C in the back field it's Marsh nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down really nice job on that throw just giving this guy an opportunity to catch the ball kind of reminds me about Bill Burke the guy I played against back in the Citrus bow when I was playing he was throwing the Plax go burst and he just kept putting the football in pla's r range and we just couldn't stop the two of them they went up and down the field on us all day long throwing it if you just give your guy a chance like he did right there I don't know if this defense can stop it they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 and listen if it ain't broke don't fix it I I mean I love teams that commit to the run and when it's successful keep running the rock yeah David I I think this offensive line right now they've got a lather going they're really sort of getting in the groove and flow of this game they're just getting tremendous push at the point of attack it seems like every single time they decide to run the ball they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points got eight on first down now looking at a second and two [Applause] looking for room it's Carter slammed to the ground but not before he gets the first down well the defense knew coming into this point it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles it couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first down on that run play the Spartans with the first and [Applause] 10 the hand to the running back and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine he's at the 36 yd L up got a little work done on first down now back to the line to the air it's child he finds his man boy that was a decision play all the way around throw catch tackle bang bang bang I love playing man-to-man defense and I love getting up in your kitchen and jamming you at the line of scrimmage but it's really hard when they start running these Crossing routes and drags and ends because now I'm in Chase mode and the QB has a little bit of space A lot of times and those fast guys can create some separation and get a first down like they did there fires a full now it's picked off and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for its own what a big gamechanging play I love when you see defensive players they jump on the ball like they were the offensive guys so aggressive going and getting that pick creating some big Mojo for your team FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work last time David it was one two3 kick last drive that three and out sometimes that puts your defense in a bad spot you got to get a drive here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this defense on the fields after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 they'll give it to Johnson they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well this defense obviously knows they have to be able to stop the run now in the second half if they're going to win this game you wonder if they were able to make some tweets some adjustments at halftime maybe getting some more bodies close to the line of scrimmage to give themselves a chance to come back in this G the Roar of the crowd trying to fuel this defense to keep them pinned in their own end on Third and long try to convert through the air well in the first half this offense was up and down the field it seemed like everything they were dialing up was working and here we are in the third quarter and there's a very rare incompletion on their own end of the field maybe that's the play the defense needs now the Sparks some momentum FAU will send out the punt team he gets it away from his own End Zone got it near Midfield oh what a caught he'll be got it out of bounds but not before a Nifty return on that one Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick no you've got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate The Mentalist yeah and I don't think you get conservative play safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing that completion leads us with second IMM medium to the air it's child the throw to the outside is complete and he gets it down to the four yd line before he's finally stopped a terrific run after the catch the big fell the tight end the wide receiver in a tight end's body going up and making the catch and the Spartans line it up with a first and [Applause] goal they'll run the option and he'll be stopped for No Gain still sitting at the three yd line up second Ang go can the D deny them on second and [Applause] goal on the option now the pitch and he takes it to the house touchdown Spart a quick strike just as we expected strikes are easy when you got such a great field position obviously the offense starts in such a good spot it's the defense in a bad position and the offense takes [Applause] [Applause] advantage now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic extra [Applause] point and they did make the extra point and we have a tie ball game here in the third quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and close the deal with a three- yd touchdown run all tied up just about set to kick it away on the move from inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the FAU offense will return to the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse we just had no ribbon in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out for backwards get some first downs get some positive moment right on target with that last pass now it's second immediate looking to throw it's fer all kinds of room to throw that one in there found a bunch of room and got it to the 44 yd line man this offense is so dangerous Rees they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels and the owls racing to the line in the hurry up trying to find his man on first down and he just threw that one away safe move didn't see anything Live to play another [Music] [Applause] play this has been a tight one thr third quarter all tied up it's now second and 10 couldn't connect on first down now back to the air steps away he'll throw it down on the run and he'll slide to avoid the big hit well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this better find the earplugs here comes the noise backing this defense on third down got it in the middle it's Johnson makes the grab and it's enough for the first down before he's dragged to the ground I was starting to think about what they would do if they didn't pick up the first down here but I guess that's a moot point now moot point for sure and the head coach was probably telling them four down territory we're going to kick a field goal whatever the next decision was going to be and now the OC is like don't worry about it new set of downs nice execution by this offense they'll run the Jet Sweep making the defense go sideline to sideline I love defense second game tackle how about the defense getting a lot of hacks to the football that receiver is a fast dude with this defense they've got a lot of teams to beat themselves they showed it right there and here comes the offense on second down wide receiver now comes in motion looking to pass it's fer and the quarterback will take a sack back at the 36 the defense just simply not fooled by the play action often times an offense you're hoping the Run pick is going to slow down those pass rushers but man man they had their ears pinned back seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third [Applause] down looking downfield and he needs a bunch and here's a fumble way behind the line defense just cradling that fumble and securing it that's why you got to avoid third and long situations if you're on offense cuz the defense knows its pass and all these guys are in their ears back they getting up field and you're under so much duress on top of that you give up a fumble that is a huge play for the [Applause] defense the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball this could be a real turning point in the game they scored a touchdown they got a stop and now a chance to break the tie yeah this offense has got it cooking man and how about the defense great job getting that stop getting the football right back to the hot hand now this offense call has a chance to take you can see the offense too they understand the situation right now they were jonesing on the sidelines to get another opportunity to run back on the field they are ready to drive this ball and go score the Spartans in the hurry up [Applause] wide receiver shows motion out of the shotgun they go to the ground the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say Country Strong when they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big points picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down back to pass it's child gets it out quickly dances away again really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down we see another catch by this guy this defense is going to need to do a better job of tackling the catch in coverage I know they want to slap the ball away but if you can't do it in force the incompletion you've got to at least make sure you're able to drag him down to the ground as soon as he catches the ball they fought tooth and nail through three and it is all locked up as we take a look at the [Music] stats can't wait to see how this fourth quarter is going to go and see who can come out on top in this barn burner to the ground with the back Mark it off as a 6yd gain down to the 6yd line you keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing game operating in the Red Zone here on second [Applause] down wide receiver coming across in motion hand off to the lone back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three awesome job up front by this defensive line being so good at the point of attack and eating blocks eating some double teams that allows these linebackers to run free unencumbered and get to the football a third and long here they can pick up the first down without getting the touchdown from the gun wants to pass and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's inmp compl yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board so here we are on fourth down and this field goal kicker is going to face all the pressure in the world absolutely perfect and they regain the lead all field goals are not great equ guys kicks in the fourth quarter Take the Lead they just seem to car so much Mortal weight so give that young man credit getting out there and knocking that thing through the uprights with all the pressure all the eyeballs on him he delivered after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to go here he comes from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work into the pile maybe got one he stopped at the [Music] 21 didn't get much on first down it's second and [Applause] nine scanning the field it's fer and it'll be incomplete this is some physical pass [Music] [Music] defense Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down from the gun wants to pass fires to the wide out wide open downfield there to make The Tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down this quarterback has been really good today has been on top of it seeing things really really well that pass right there put him over the 300 yd Mark that's a pretty good day FAU racing to the [Applause] line fast motion from the offense and he just flat dropped it I think think he wanted to run before he secured it well it's a nice job by the quarterback getting the ball out of his hands quickly on that RPO he saw something he like just not on the same page with his receiver here comes the offense on second [Applause] down they'll leave it with him he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple it's amazing how play on the defensive end of the Back Field can really swing the momentum not only of a series but of a game sometimes all you trying to do is create negative plays to get them behind the sticks a little bit to get those sacks to get those tackles for the losses you see so much stunting in college football up front with the defensive line because you know once you get one of those plays you got the offense right where you are defense was not Fool by that scream to the back and they'll stop him short of the marker it'll be fourth down they allowed the completion but this defense was warming to keep him away from that first down line yeah and you allow completions in those third down situations underneath the space Power Up rally and everybody flies to the football that's great execution by this defense he won't be able to return this one as it goes out of bounds Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense had to settle for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out of in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here D yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points making a play like that to open the Drive can really get the momentum going first down from the 43 and he's brought down after a nice game oo I like that option play I'd keep running that two it's obvious the defense right now is really keying in on this running back that was a big point of emphasis for them all week long in practice and it's opening up holes now for the quarterback to run the offense sets up chop at the 46 on first [Applause] down Jet Sweep to the receiver he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and that is how you stop the Jet Sweep if you're on defense you get penetration up front yeah they're going to try to outflank you but they can't do anything about it if you got dudes up front winning one on one after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 looking for a man it's child they're setting up the screen not a whole lot of room there on that screen passes it just never developed and he didn't get a big game you you want to call that play and probably want to get more yards but you could tell that was super close from seriously busting loose nice job running the screen getting the ball to your playmaker if he could just make one more guy miss that might have been huge on third down he drops to throw quarterback floating away from pressure oh no the ball popped out this could change things how about that alert play from the defense to Corral that fumble and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for a to and that was the biggest play of the game they've got the lead off defensively they're trying to run this thing out he coughs it up the defense jumps on it and all of a sudden this game has a different [Applause] feel the FAU offense will return to the field David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the punter out there this offense needs to get that lad up and get a little bit more of a rhy best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to kick start this [Applause] offense they'll line up right at the 48 yd line on First and [Applause] 10 Ed the play fake now to throw unloads to the wide out oh he drops the football he had him right down the gut of the field instead it'll be second [Applause] down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it [Applause] again looking downfield it's fer and he really needed to hold on to that one but it was not loose in third down down is [Music] [Applause] coming they need to get a little closer for a field goal try and they've got to do it in a hurry they want to just keep throwing it can't make the play on the interception and man they were looking for their first pick of the game instead it'll be fourth down that's why it's so important this defense to win first and second down set up third Longs like that you can show your exotic looks you get the pass rush going everybody on the back end expecting throw that's how you force incompletions to force work Downs another punt on the way got to make sure those hammies and glutes all activated don't run any muscle PS from overuse the Spartans have it back on offense hoping to play some good ball that last drive and the turnover not what you're looking for when you have the lead Jesse Yeah and really I think for them it's just staying out of their own way they're making plays they've got The Playmakers to go and win this game so it's just a matter of executing better don't you executing better understanding I still got the lead put a drive together here and build on that lead and here on first down let's see if they keep it on the [Applause] ground they'll give it to him again and that's a very productive first down play bringing up second and three when the offense can run the football and you can feature a guy like this that will get more yards in his block that you can really depend on hangs on to the football like it makes offense super easy especially down the stretch when you want to eat that clock and you want to possess the football just nice to have that kind of guy fights off a Defender really nice stop there from this senior leader [Applause] [Music] [Applause] after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again motion from the offense reach it fires complete gold ask for much more there a first down and they're down to the 42 well this guy's been a go-to guy for this offense all game long we've seen that and here on a critical third down late in the game with the lead guess who shows up with another big one that guy and the Spartans are moving quickly down the field they'll run it he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well this guy's been eating them alive all game long finally though David you wonder if the defense has been able to make some adjustments find something positive to help slow this guy down hey B steps right that's a tackle for a loss I know he's got over a hundo on the game but this defense is definitely going to have to be more aggressive commit more guys to stopping that bad man and the pass is incomplete Jarred Loose by the hit now third now facing a third and long he's looking downfield to throw another incompletion on third down INE third and long situation they try to go screen I think they were hoping it was going to be a big Zone and they could get those offensive linemen down the field but the defense sniffed it out forcing the incompletion the Spartans decide to pun it away in form to kick it away the punt goes out of bounds and a nice job to get them backed up I think they'll spot it right around the 15 FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and going now it's second and 10 from the [Applause] 15 they'll run playaction throws to the wide out complete downfield and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down when you getting man-to-man coverage and you're running that curl I got to sell him deep I got to get a little bit of space where I can make him think I'm running deep running deep and then I sit down real quick QB wide receiver on the same page first down the hand off to Johnson they get him stopped at the 32 that's a gain of four small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this after the productive first down play it's second and six [Applause] wide out in motion but Jet Sweep pass finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line well and on these little push passes timing is so important trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside David he puts the defense in such a good place you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of PP over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot yeah and I just need a crease I I need you offensive linemen just like right here great job holding the point of attack don't let any penetration come in give me a little sliver and then you see the running back Palmer he'll do the rest lower his shoulder and make sure he gets the first down yeah it means a lot to this offense too to have a guy like this that always just seems to fall forward he always in the short yard situations knows where that first down mark is and he's able to get those hidden yards in piles driving his legs to help keep this drive alive I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yard situations back to throw it's fer he's right on Target and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains just another big play for this guy who spent the entire game wide open couple of touchdowns there and he moves the sticks Again David yeah so I'll keep finding him reys I mean this is a guy that listen we're in the second half now he's already made plays I know I can trust him so I'm going to continue to feature him in this offense cuz I know he'll continue to make big points [Music] didn't get much on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw caught behind the line it's Johnson they stop him almost immediately short gain there still a little ground cover pick up the first this defense is going to have to be careful not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football but they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes to he is a versatile back big third down as the crowd Gets behind this defense got it looking for the first down really nice job to convert that third down and they've got it at the 33 well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this up offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting his looking to go up top on first down using the quick game brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the change it's at the 22 well that's one the DB I think would like to have back out route he was in man coverage if he could have just got out of his break a little bit sooner he might have had a chance to intercept that one and take it to the house FAU working with a fresh set of downs they'll throw it on first down and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute wide open big play opportunity hits it right between the numbers you got to make that play those are one of those where I I tap my helmet like that was me that was on me my bad give me another opportunity later on second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning gives it to the back on the draw man that DET tackle is a freak athl did you see him come out of his stance and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike [Applause] quickness third down in this crowd will pull out a vocal cord to help this defense they give it to him again oh no the ball popped out and he gets the fumble back but that clock is still an enemy man those are back Breakers defensively you get so excited you force the fumb going to get a turnover and the offense [Applause] [Music] fall so on fourth down here comes the field goal kicker in a huge spot let's go and with a little more than a minute to go we are all tied up that is a massive kick late here in the game to tie it up and now can your defense do their job and at minimum hold them scoreless here to put this thing into OT or even better can they get you the football back and give you an opportunity to win the game he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Michigan state has the ball back and here comes the offense he wastes no time and comes out throwing quickly complete makes the grab and he's dragged [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] down they'll try to kick it into overdrive clock's running second down coming [Applause] to the air it's child they're trying to get to it I'm out on the field and everybody want to make sure they're organized as we come down the gut of the game how nice is it as a defense when you can drop seven guys in a coverage only Rush four and still get home that makes you feel good if you're the D coordinate running back searching for a hole and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down the def def going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page and the Spartans will try to pin them back with the [Applause] punt he'll be content with the field position making the fair catch right around the 30yd line the FAU offense will return to the field this one is about finding the balance between being aggressive and not being Reckless Jesse the only way this thing works though if they're going to be aggressive this offensive line has got to be able to pull it up here for this QB yeah because you need to take shots beyond the sticks so the clock will stop you can save every second you have grabbed in the back field it's Johnson the offense will use a timeout clock is stopped with 22 seconds left and listen if I'm the quarterback I'm trying to dump the ball off to my playmaker and make this a manageable third down get something positive but how about the defense just reacting so fast getting to the running back and getting that sucker on the ground in the open field and the pressure will get there then a sack down he goes in the waiting moments that could be a costly play I love players that step up in big situations big moments and big games like that late in this game on third down and just get the job done that Defender an outstanding job outstanding work right there on that pass r [Applause] well guys let's play some more head into overtime and this just feels right both of these teams going back and forth so of course David this thing needs to get decided in 0 let's see who's better short amount of time to do it a couple possessions probably maybe one possession each who's the better team all right guys so here we go in overtime and just refresh everyone's memory alternating possessions start on the opponent's 25 and it's so nice to be on defense first just to set the tone to understand what you need try to hold him to a field goal the offense knows they can do their job to go out and get a win just two possessions Paul we're like you got to be at your best yeah and I love the new rules too because in the third overtime possession it goes to alternating two-point plays back and forth who's got anything left in the tank here in [Applause] OT power football with the Run brought down after picking up three down to the 22 22 got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven back to throw it's child makes his connection and he'll be take him down but he does have enough for the first down first down for the offense first play of the first possession of OT wide receiver now comes in motion looking for a crease it's Carter pulled down after a pick up of five they'll mark it at the eight [Music] going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he's looking to throw makes the grab that completion will take it inside the four and the offense is threatening [Music] [Applause] the terrain gets rough this deep in the Red Zone third down they can pick up the first without scoring looking to throw for it he it he'll be stopped just short of the end zone but they'll have it first and goal [Applause] here comes first and goal as they try to strike here in [Applause] overtime he's looking to throw he wants it all it falls incomplete he was trying to find his man for six [Applause] they'll try it again from the one on second and [Applause] goal barrels ahead and how about that interior defense stuffing the run for nothing and a gut check on the doorstep third and goal here in overtime [Applause] third and goal and they'll try to pass it in just threw that one way too far is incomplete [Applause] and they'll try to strike first with a field goal in [Applause] overtime AB absolutely perfect and they go back on top well the head coach decided to play it safe on Fourth and inches and try to field goal team out there and this field goal kicker just made him look like a pretty smart gu down by three it's their turn here an overtime a touchdown will win it here's first down he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple [Applause] line getting set on second [Applause] down back to throw it's fer fires to the wide out makes the grab he's brought down but there's a flag on the play Let's see if it's defense so they'll decline the pass interference penalty and the result of the play will stand he'll try the left side and they Corral him at the 2yd line [Applause] going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone looking to throw on second down they're bringing heat didn't have much of a choice there but to get rid [Applause] of third down and they need be smart here so they don't make it a more difficult field goal attemp the toss to the right they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a [Applause] [Music] [Applause] disaster and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker to save them with this foot defense will call a timeout they got a peek at the formation want to make sure they're in the right call on this big down here in overtime so now we'll line up for one of the biggest kicks of this game and that is no good and after the Miss they're still down by a field goal well everybody in the stadium thought that was an automatic three not so fast bad Miss by the kicker fight
