That Anime Show: Tower of God Season 2 Episode 8

what's going on guys welcome to another episode of V4 Tower of God season 2 uh this is episode 8 and with me as always I have loose bid oh we mentioned uh I mean everybody noticed last week that uh the initial release of episode 7 had some you know I I guess you could say some subtitle or translation errors because they accidentally used the you know the subtitles uh for this episode until last week um before they finally fixed it of course this involves like a uh well this episode of course introduces like this new AI bot app thing called Emily in which the characters are using it as a way to answer answer certain questions and how to navigate the tower and who's like who's involved and and whatnot um this point to me just honestly kind of came out of nowhere that they introduced this like AI uh that's I guess communicating with all the characters um but also I guess this AI wants to be like I guess experience human emotions like love and all that um and also it got really weird at the the end of the episode as well with AI I guess they at certain points they show I guess supposedly the true form of the AI which is like this I guess this machine um but they also show this person who is like who I guess is hooked up to some kind of looks like a VR headset looks I'm pretty sure that this actual person is Emily I guess so yeah it wasn't really clear as to if that really was her like somebody else but I guess it was her um yeah I I guess like you know she's it it looks like she's been hooked on to that machine for like for an extended period of time because you can see like her physical appearance seems to be uh yeah like she seems like she's I guess pretty old maybe um maybe she's I don't know I'm I'm wondering if she's going to be relevant later because I'm wondering like why she was all of a sudden brought up in this episode uh I mean there has to be a reason why they're introducing her right now I mean she of course by the end of the episode I mean we'll we'll get to that later but much of the episode is of course focusing on it kind of switches back and forth between Bam's team and kun's team um for for Bam's perspective like we have the entire group is uh going up against another team in recovering this key now there's I mean there's not a lot that not a lot else that goes on we see like you know a lot of the team members like working together by taking Town taking down the supposing team and uh W wangan is doing his best to try to and I I guess should to draw them away or maybe recover the key at the same time uh and then like he he literally gets cornered to the point where like I guess they're about to kill him but then bam just shows up at the last minute to say to save wongan and take take the opposing team down and you know recover the key yeah um I I guess you could say there was also like somewhat you know some more like com comedic moments in the episode because there's like moments where I Wong's trying to mess with one of the opposing team members by I guess pretending to be like some uh well not like a some some I guess bird some pet bird that he had at one point that but then we find out later he he' burned it alive or he' burned it and I guess later ate it or something yeah I I I don't know I just felt kind of weird when he did that I just I didn't know like what the purpose with that was maybe as a distraction but just it didn't and then like with kinn's team they face off against this I I guess I guess we call it like a mole person or something that can dig through the wall um yeah and then they're fighting against like a foury four armed guy you know that they're going up against and um in the end like you know they they managed to get through the fight um you know sort of uh and then but I think the most interesting scene was like um what you know one of those guys interacting with Rachel uh who's like like she it's it's obvious she's she's trying to take advantage of this of this one guy uh I think one of her uh lines said like um I want you to be my legs or something like that even though like we know that she can technically walk just fine I'm wondering if she's maybe trying to manipulate him like maybe how I tried how she tried to manipulate Bam um it yeah it's Mo most likely yeah I yeah I think in a way like she I think in a way she knows that uh Kun is going to end up disposing her uh at one point or another yeah so maybe she's trying to like I don't know maybe like sort of set some of his teammate teammates against him or something so maybe they'll like stab him in the back yeah I I think that's a very likely possibility um I mean k initially recruited um you know the these new team members in a way to uh I guess as a way to back as backup against Rachel but I I feel like that plan is going to end up I don't know backfiring her backfiring in his face yeah that's if she knows that maybe that like you said that you know he plans to dispose of her so she's she's trying to use use them against him in in case you know when he does do that yeah so uh so so Kun ends up picking up uh you know the the phone with the the Emily app still on and it it's strange the way he finds out about this he finds out that bam is alive thanks to Emily I'm I'm surprised that it's not something that uh he had asked the app before like you know that he's asking it's just kind of weird he he's asking her that now and he's of course surprised that she just you know confirms that bam is alive yeah it's just yeah I don't know it just felt kind of weird that the way um he finds out this way um I think uh and of course we also see like um and Andros Andros oh yeah Andor Andor endorsi yeah so so we see her using the app too but we don't really get to see much of that much of her um after this so it's kind it's kind of weird that they keep uh bringing back some of the old characters but they don't really get the utilize him as much out outside of K yeah like they don't really do much aside from K they're not really doing anything that important yeah uh but yeah I mean the episode itself I mean it's it's average at best I mean there were some good action scenes here and there but uh it kind of flew by like really fast in my opinion uh I think the only interesting stuff they showed is I guess you could say the Emily AI bot and then of course uh I guess Rachel taking next steps to I I guess to move forward with her plan to ascend the tower herself without having to use K all the time yeah like you said said I I thought it was an okay episode but the stuff with the EM Emily AI just kind of felt like to me it just sort of came out of nowhere because it hasn't really been hinted at or anything up until this point and I'm wondering what they're going to do with the with with her um and yeah like the most interesting stuff was what it what was going on with Rachel and the stuff with bam wasn't really that interesting in this episode to be honest um and I was also kind of confused a little bit about the timeline because it feels like they mentioned in passing that they'd been climbing for 3 years up until this point and I guess I guess supposedly there's been a time skip in between the last episode and this one but it doesn't really feel that way so I'm not really sure about that yeah it's just they're not really consistent with like what you know what part of the time like how long they've been climbing the tower here here and there I mean we we know like it's been like they said it was five years um between the events of the first and second season but in term of what's happening right now it's just not there's not really any consistency I mean outside the fact that last week that they were told like it would take them two years to reach the you know the so-called Workshop in order to help help uh wangan find Bam's um old you know previous team I'm wondering if they're just doing that so they can get to the workshop stuff at the end maybe at the end of the season it yeah I think it's possible it's just I I don't know like how they're going to end up getting there though and and considering the fact that the timeline's I don't know they're they're intentionally jumping the timeline um left and right here in there it's just it's hard it's hard to tell because we don't know if like a lot much of the scenes that we see between Bam's team and K's team are really taking place at the same time or they're taking place in like separate times and then like you know just this you know just see a different perspective I guess yeah yeah but I I don't really have too much else to say about the episode though like I said it was okay but um yeah I felt like it could have been some stuff like where they where they are in terms of the timeline could have been done a little bit better um but yeah I don't know if you have anything else to say about it yeah I mean it was it was average at best I mean it's just it kind kind of just flew by like you know very very quickly the Emily stuff like just came kind of came out of nowhere I really wish we could have gotten more with that it just it's just like what a lot of the stuff they revealed about Emily like it just feel it feels kind of rushed in my opinion like we know like this Emily thing uh has its uses for like you know some of the other characters but you know what they reveal like you know this being an actual person being hooked up to a machine is like you know it's another thing entirely but I but they didn't really elaborate all that much into it yeah yeah but
