INFORMATION. AS WE LEARN MORE. WELL, THE FAIR FUN BEGINS TOMORROW. WE ARE JUST HOURS AWAY FROM THE KICKOFF FOR THE IOWA STATE FAIR. YOU ARE TAKING A LIVE LOOK FROM THE FAIR GROUNDS WHERE YOU CAN SEE VENDORS ARE ALL SET UP AND READY TO WELCOME THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE, AND IT IS SHAPING UP TO BE THE PERFECT WEATHER THIS YEAR FOR THE FAIR. PICTURE PERFECT. LAURA AND ORGANIZERS SAY THAT COULD BE THE REASON FOR A SPIKE IN TICKET SALES THEY'VE SEEN OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS. KCCI BEAU BOWMAN IS LIVE AT THE FAIRGROUNDS THIS EVENING TO EXPLAIN. HI BO. JODI LAURA, THE WEATHER OUT HERE HAS JUST BEEN INCREDIBLE. THESE LAST TWO DAYS. A LOT BETTER SET UP SITUATION FOR THE VENDORS THAT USUALLY HAVE TO WORK THROUGH THE SWELTERING HEAT TO GET THEIR STANDS SET UP LEADING UP TO THE FAIR, AND SOME ARE EVEN HOPEFUL THAT THIS GOOD WEATHER MIGHT DRUM UP A LITTLE BIT MORE BUSINESS TODAY. AND YESTERDAY. AWESOME, AWESOME. AND THE FAIR IS GOING TO BE AWESOME. THE WEATHER IS GOING TO BE COOL. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO WANT MY STEAMED BUN HOT DOGS. IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME. AND FAIR OFFICIALS SAY THEY'VE SEEN ADVANCED TICKET SALES SKYROCKET. THESE LAST FEW DAYS. SINCE THAT FORECAST HAS BEEN OUT, THEY SAY THE FAIR HAS SOLD 16,000 MORE TICKETS. THIS YEAR THAN THEY HAVE IN YEARS PAST. FYI, THOSE TICKETS ARE ALSO CHEAPER. $11 INSTEAD OF THE 16 THAT YOU PAY WHEN YOU BUY AT THE GATE. TYPICALLY IN A NORMAL YEAR, WE HAVE ABOUT 40% OR 45% OF OUR FAIRGOERS WHO WILL GET THEIR TICKETS AT THE GATE. AND WE ALWAYS ARE SURPRISED BY THAT NUMBER BECAUSE WE THINK YOU CAN SAVE $5 A TICKET ON A DOLLAR ADMISSION, $3 FOR KIDS IF YOU BUY THOSE IN ADVANCE. SO I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE ARE MAKING THAT TURN NOW AND UNDERSTANDING TO GET THOSE TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME. NOW THOSE CHEAPER ADVANCE TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE ON THE STATE FAIR'S WEBSITE UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. WE'RE LIVE AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR BEAU BOWMAN KCCI EIGHT NEWS, IOWA'S NEWS LEADER AND BO.
