KCCI DOT COM. WELL, WE ARE WEATHER IMPACT FOR TOMORROW FOR THE RISK OF STRONG AND SEVERE STORMS. AS JASON, WHAT ARE WE WHAT CAN WE EXPECT? YEAH. SO I THINK BEGINNING PART OF THE DAY IS GOING TO BE FINE. IF YOU'RE TAKING THAT DOG FOR A WALK IN THE MORNING OR EVEN GOING FOR YOUR WALK AT NOON ON YOUR LUNCH BREAK, THINK YOU'RE GOING TO BE DOING OKAY. WE GET MUCH BEYOND THAT, THOUGH, AND WE'LL HAVE A CHANCE FOR SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO FIRE UP AHEAD OF THE MAIN LINE, WHICH WE'LL SEE COMING UP HERE, WILL EVENTUALLY PUSH THROUGH AROUND 8 OR 9 P.M., AT LEAST INTO THE METRO. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THAT SEVERE WEATHER THREAT LIES TODAY. THAT'S UP INTO THE DAKOTAS, WHERE THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A LEVEL THREE THREAT AND THAT GOES ON A SCALE UP TO FIVE. SO A FAIRLY ELEVATED THREAT FOR THEM FOR US, THAT THREAT RESIDES MAINLY THAT NORTHERN AND NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF THE STATE. AND IT'S A LEVEL ONE THREAT. THE MAIN THREATS WITH THIS ARE GOING TO BE STRONG TO DAMAGING WINDS. THE POTENTIAL FOR LARGE HAIL, ESPECIALLY IN THAT WESTERN PORTION OF THIS AREA OF YELLOW HERE. AND THE TORNADO THREAT IS LOW WITH THIS SYSTEM NOT NONEXISTENT, THOUGH I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF WE SEE ONE OF THOSE POP UP WITH THIS. BUT AGAIN, BY A BY A LARGE MARGIN, BETTER ODDS THAT WE SEE DAMAGING WINDS AND SOME LARGE HAIL. SO TRACKING THIS OUT FOR YOU, YOU CAN SEE WINDS STAYING A LITTLE STRONG OUT THERE AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW MORNING. AND YOU'LL SEE THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS START TO FIRE UP AHEAD OF THIS MAIN LINE. THOSE WILL NOT BE THE SEVERE STORMS, BUT COULD SEE SOME LIGHTNING IN THOSE AND A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN. HERE'S THAT MAIN LINE. WATCH AS IT SHIFTS ITS WAY EASTWARD. IT'S GOING TO BECOME A LITTLE MORE RAGGED. IT'S GOING TO WEAKEN SOME. AND ESPECIALLY AS THIS STARTS TO PUSH ITS WAY EAST OF 35, WE'LL REALLY SEE THAT WEAKEN. QUITE A BIT. SO THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT IS NOT GOING TO LINGER FOR THE ENTIRE STATE, ESPECIALLY AS WE HEAD INTO THE OVERNIGHT. THAT REALLY STARTS TO RAMP ITS WAY BACK DOWN. BUT I THINK EVERYBODY IS GOING TO ENJOY WHAT'S BEHIND THIS FRONT. WE HAVE GOT MUCH COOLER, DRIER AIR THAT'S GOING TO BE SETTING UP SHOP. WE'RE GOING TO BE DOWN IN THE 70S BEFORE YOU KNOW IT HERE. SO COMFORT IS ON THE WAY. I KNOW IT'S BEEN UNCOMFORTABLE OUT THERE FOR A WHILE, BUT GOOD THINGS ARE COMING. COULD SEE QUITE A BIT OF RAIN IN SPOTS THOUGH, ESPECIALLY WHERE WE SEE THOSE POCKETS OF STRONGER STORMS AND AREAS OFF TO THE WEST. WITH THOSE STORMS CAN STAY INDIVIDUALIZED FOR A LITTLE BIT LONGER. THAT WILL NOT ONLY RAMP UP THE HAIL THREAT, BUT COULD PUT DOWN QUITE A BIT OF RAIN IN SPOTS. THIS, AS IT PROGRESSES EASTWARD, THOUGH, AGAIN LOSES A LITTLE BIT OF STEAM. AND WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT A HALF INCH TO AN INCH FOR SOME OF THOSE SOUTHEASTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. QUIET OUT THERE FOR THE TIME BEING, THOUGH, WE HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF CLOUD COVER, BUT ANY CLOUD COVER WE'RE SEEING IS LIGHT. THAT SUNSHINE, THOUGH, MAKING IT FEEL A LITTLE BIT HOTTER, ISN'T IT? WE'RE IN A LITTLE BIT 90S FOR OUR HEAT INDEX. AND AS WE LOOK AT THE DAY TOMORROW, STILL GOING TO BE RAMPING UP THOSE TEMPERATURES LOW TO MID 90S INTO THE AFTERNOON. AGAIN, CHANCES FOR THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OUT AHEAD OF THAT MAIN LINE, WHICH IS GOING TO MAKE ITS WAY IN LATER ON INTO THE EVENING. AND AS WE LOOK AT WHAT'S BEHIND THAT, THINGS ARE LOOKING GREAT. 82 ON FRIDAY, 85 ON SATURDAY. WE'RE DOWN INTO THE 70S ON SUNDAY AND WE SIT THERE THROUGH TUESDAY 80S RETURN WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. BUT WHAT DOESN'T LEAVE US AFTER IT MAKES ITS WAY OUT IS THAT SUNSHINE FRIDAY THAT
