KCCI EIGHT NEWS AT SIX STARTS NOW. WELL, IT IS A STORY YOU WILLL ONLY SEE ON KCCI. THE PARENTS OF A TEENAGER KILLED IN A CRASH THIS WEEK SAY HE WAS YELLING AT THE DRIVER TO SLOW DOWN. THE CAR FULL OF TEENS SLAMMED INTO THE RUAN BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN DES MOINES WEDNESDAY MORNING. RIGHT HERE AT THIS LOCATION. 16 YEAR OLD CHAD NICHOLSON WAS KILLED. KCCI BEAU BOWMAN HAS THE EMOTIONAL MESSAGE FROM HIS FAMILY. YEAH, LAURA NICHOLSON'S FRIENDS WHO SURVIVED THIS CRASH TOLD HIS PARENTS IN HIS LAST MOMENTS, HE WAS YELLING AT THE DRIVER TO STOP AND HE WANTED OUT OF THE CAR. THEY WANTED OUT. THEYEY WERE SCARED AND THIS HAS REALLY BEEN HARD FOR MY WIFE BECAUSE SHE'S I MEAN, THE WHAT IFS. CHAD AND SHAWN NICHOLSON STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THEIR SON IS GONE. CHAD NICHOLSON, THE SECOND WAS THE 16 YEAR OLD KILLED IN A CAR CRASH IN DOWNTOWN DES MOINES EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THEY NEEDED PHOTOS TO BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY. I DIDN'T NEED A PHOTO. THAT'S WHEN I CALLED HIM AND SAID, IT'S CHAD. HE'S. HE'S GONE. HE'S DEAD. NICHOLSON WAS A JUNIOR AT EAST HIGH SCHOOL. HIS PARENTS SAY HE WAS A FUN LOVING KID. A QUICK LEARNER AND COMPETITIVE. THAT'S HOW HIS OLDER SISTER WANTS HIM TO BE REMEMBERED. AND HOW HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY CAN STILL HONOR HIS MEMORY. HE WAS THE PERSON THAT YOU COULD JUST COME TO, YOU KNOW, AND WOULD BE THERE FOR YOU AND TRY TO GET YOU TO DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. THAT'S RIGHT. HIS PARENTS SAY THEY'VE BEEN OVERWHELMED BY THE SUPPORT FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS, HEARING STORIES OF THEIR SON THEY'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE, OUTLINING THE IMPACT HE'S MADE ON SO MANY PEOPLE IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU FEEL, AS PARENTS, THAT HE WAS ABLE TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON THAT MANY PEOPLE? PROUD AND SAD THAT WHAT COULD HE HAVE DONE THEN, IF HE WAS STILL HERE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE? WHO WHO COULD HE BECAME? THERE WERE FOUR OTHER PEOPLE IN THE STOLEN CAR AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THEY WERE ALL TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL TO BE
