WE'RE GOING TO SEE MORE STORMS HEADING THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. SO IF YOU'RE DRY, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE METRO, THAT'S WHERE MORE OF THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY BE FOCUSED HERE HEADING THROUGH THE EVENING FOR RIGHT NOW, IF YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY RAIN, WELL, WE ARE DEALING WITH THAT HEAT AND HUMIDITY. WE ALSO HAVE THAT AIR QUALITY ALERT FOR A FEW MORE HOURS. GOOD NEWS FOR TOMORROW. WE DO NOT HAVE AN AIR QUALITY ALERT. ALSO, IT WON'T BE AS HOT EITHER, SO THAT WILL BE LESS OF AN ISSUE FOR OUR WEDNESDAY MOVING FORWARD. BUT THIS EVENING WE HAVE TO GET THROUGH SOME THUNDERSTORMS HERE FIRST BEFORE TOMORROW. WE DRY THINGS OUT. SO THE THREE POSSIBLE ISSUES WE HAVE FOR TODAY SHOULD NOT BE ISSUES FOR TOMORROW. RIGHT NOW THOUGH, LET'S LOOK AT LIVE RADAR, BECAUSE SOME OF US HAVE RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS AND THE STORM THAT JOHNNY WAS LIKELY LOOKING AT. I BELIEVE HE IS OVER ON THE KANSAS SIDE, CHECKING OUT THIS STORM NEAR OLATHE AND NEAR GARDNER ON THE KANSAS SIDE.. THEN AS YOU GO SOUTH OF KANSAS CITY ON THE MISSOURI SIDE, DOWN 71 HIGHWAY, CLOSER TO PECULIAR HARRISONVILLE, YOU HAVE ANOTHER THUNDERSTORM. THIS ONE PRODUCING QUITE A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES. THESE STORMS REALLY AREN'T MOVING THAT FAST, AND THAT WILL BE THE CASE AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE EVENING. STORMS THAT POP UP. THEY'LL VERY SLOWLY DRIFT TOWARDS THE EAST AND NORTHEAST, AND YOU SEE BETWEEN ABOUT SEVEN AND 9:00, A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE AROUND THE METRO. THIS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TEN AND 11. AFTER MIDNIGHT, THOSE STORMS WILL START TO LOSE SOME OF THEIR ENERGY AND THEN THEY WILL FALL APART. AND D THAT WILL SET US UP FOR SE DRY WEATHER FOR OUR DAY ON WEDNESDAY. RIGHT NOW THOUGH, THERE IT IS. THAT'S THE THUNDERSTORM THAT IS SOUTH OF THE PLAZA ON THE MISSOURI SIDE, NEAR HARRISONVILLE. SO HERE'S A GREAT LOOK AT IT. VIEWING IT FROM THE NORTH AS FAR AS OUR CURRENT CONDITIONS. IF YOU'RE NOT UNDER A STORM, YOU'RE HOT. 95. THAT IS THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE FEELING MORE LIKE IT'S 100 DEGREES FOR THIS EVENING. WE HAVE THAT WEATHER IMPACT FOR SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THOSE MIDDLE 80S. TONIGHT WE BOTTOM OUT ONLY NEAR 72 DEGREES. WE SHOULD BE HAVING LOWS IN THE MID 60S. SO WE'RE ABOVE NORMAL FOR OUR TEMPERATURES TONIGHT. THEN TOMORROW MORE OF THAT HEAT AND HUMIDITY. BUT IT WON'T BE AS HOT. HIGH TEMPERATURES TOP OUT IN THOSE LOW 90S. NINE DAY FORECAST SHOWS OUR TEMPERATURES WILL HANG OUT IN THE LOW 90S, NOT JUST FOR TOMORROW, BUT ALSO INTO THURSDAY AS WELL. SO IT STAYS HOT FOR A FEW MORE DAYS. PLANNING OUT YOUR WEDNESDAY? IT WILL BE LIKE TODAY, JUST A TOUCH COOLER. SO IF YOU WANT TO GET THAT OUTSIDE YARD WORK IN OR A WORKOUT, DO IT EARLIER IN THE DAY. WE'LL GET THE HEAT INDEX LEVELS UP NEAR 100 FOR THE AFTERNOON. PARTLY CLOUDY TOMORROW. THURSDAY IS ANOTHER HOT AND HUMID DAY, BUT A STRONGER COLD FRONT WILL ROLL IN. SO IF YOU DO HAVE THURSDAY EVENING PLANS, SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS COULD PUSH IN LATE. THAT'S A LOOK AT ABOUT 10 OR 11:00. THOSE STORMS WILL GRADUALLY SETTLE SOUTHWARD BY FRIDAY MORNING AND THAT WILL BRING US SOME MUCH COOLER AIR AS WE'LL GO FROM THE LOW 90S THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS TO A HIGH OF ONLY 80 DEGREES. SOME EARLY MORNING SHOWERS ON FRIDAY NEAR 80 THROUGH THE WEEKEND. LABOR DAY, AND THAT'S MY KIND OF WEATHER 76 FOR A HIGH TEMPERATURE. LOWS WILL BE DOWN IN THE 50S NEXT WEEK. PERFECT FOR THE CHIEFS SEASON OPENER WITH HIGHS RIGHT AROUND 80. SO FOR THIS EVENING, A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE. WILL BE MONITORING RADAR FOR THAT HOT AND HUMID THROUGH
