ILLINOIS VS PENN STATE-NCAA FULL GAME

Illinois about to kick it away to get things started here he comes from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic that they get him on the ground at the 20 so Penn State's offense takes the field and here comes this quarterback when he takes the field he brings a certain Swagger and Charisma out there that the entire not only the entire team the entire Stadium seems to feed off of you can feel it it's different it's special uh guys like this don't come around very often but he makes the whole team better but the belief is strong because he continues to make plays and be their first team every time they need this defense really needs to be careful and they have to play with great eye discipline understanding where the football is at all times moving forward they have got to know if this guy has the ball cuz he is dangerous in space and the nitty Lions want to pick up the tempo leaves it with the running back smashes through really nice patient job to find some Running Room by this junior the whole Penn State Legacy is built on toughness getting it done on the ground and they pick up a first down and you got to start there with the physic Cy the ground game getting that going that's kind of a Northeast thing right being tough being physical bringing that lunch pan and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up y l down got a little work done on first down now back to the line going to run it it's Singleton he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three listen I know there are a lot of DBS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the fan get close to the line of scrimmage and tackle and on the opening drive that he's out there he gets a huge tackle for loss early that is a statement play to the air it's Allard throws to the wide out Mak a connection he'll come through on third down as he's got enough and they'll mark it at the 23 there's a reason third down is called the money down what a great find by the quarterback great job finding his receiver at the end of the game you look at third down percentages it tells a huge story and it goes a long way in deciding who wins a football motion by the back forces the defense to adjust they get him on the ground with this running game imposing its will 6yd gain down to the 17 and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making a good run great job finishing with his pads 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four and it's caught touchdown NY Lions you want to talk about a great way to start the game and set the tone early it's so nice to have a quarterback just get himself into the game get himself established you make a couple throws you lead your offense down the field you score right off the bat could not have been a better start for that [Music] QB now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and with the extra point they got the first seven of the game so it's an 80 yd drive and the score comes on a 17 yd throw for the [Music] touchdown the kickoff team out there and ready to go and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the fighting Eline I take possession and their offense will go to work for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this one what do you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football game coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that Illinois right back to the line give to the single back get a bit of a surge and he's knocked down after picking up three to the 26 all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point this crowd trying to make life miserable for this offense to the ground to try to move the chains really nice job to get it past the sticks pick up the first down at the 30 yeah and I just need a crease I I need you offensive linemen just like right here great job holding the point of attack don't let any penetration come in give me a little sliver and then you see the running back Palmer he'll do the rest lower his shoulder and make sure he gets the first down yeah it means a lot to this offense too to have a guy like this that always just seems to fall forward he always in these short yarded situations knows where that first down marker is but he's able to get those hidden yards in piles driving his legs to help keep this drive alive you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really really manageable that's a great job by the offense the big pick up on first down leaves them with second and one touch pass on the Run he almost picked up the first down on that one but he'll be just a little bit short you got to Fight Fire with Fire you got to fight speed with speed there's a receiver with the ball out the open field trying to get the corner but a cornerback with the same type of speed and athleticism able to make the tackle nice job better find the ear plugs here comes the noise backing this defense on third down they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker man a nice job dialing up that short yardage situation play call there David they needed one yard they picked up two yeah great job up front great job by the back knowing where they need to go nice having a hole you can get through and not have to just do it all on your own as a running back Illinois moving it quickly down the field pulls and throws off the RPO he's run out of fouls but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down well we see another catch by this guy this defense is going to need to do a better job of tackling the catch in coverage I know they want to slap the ball away but if you can't do it and force the incompletion you've got to at least make sure you're able to drag him down to the ground as soon as he catches the ball he's going to pass and the ball comes out what a disastrous play oh and he gets it back so you can file that one under could have been worse you know quarterbacks practice ball security as well throughout the week and he has to do a better job keeping two hands on the ball he knows this defense is trying to rip it out they're trying to get a hat on the football he's lucky that he was able to recover his own fumble [Applause] there this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys looking for a man it's altm and here comes the pressure and there he goes down again the defense coming up big there and the sack is great but the secondary deserves some credit too no doubt when you can cover like that in the secondary and drop back in your Zone and only Rush a few and you feel comfortable getting home and they're going to get to the quarterback that is a great feeling and it's fun to be a defensive coordinator calling the place and we might as well State the obvious first and second down didn't work out third and very long looking to throw and he needs a bunch setting up the [Applause] screen we've come to the end of the quarter and it's Penn State on top we put one in the books Let's have a look at our game summary [Applause] heading in the opposite directions now as we Crank It Up in the second Illinois lining up to punt this one away first punt of the day and he love to lock him up close to their goal line and that punt will Sail Out of Bounds let's see where the official spot him pen State sends the offense back onto the field how about that last drive just carved him up in the air David yeah and how about that quarterback you gave him the ball and he delivered the goods great job taking apart the the defense Jesse on that last drive he really did David I mean that was a master class in just reading coverage and being accurate the nitty lions are in the hurry up they'll give it to him again he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three I love this line backer because he's able to dissect what's happening in front of him and he reacts downhill uses his speed to get to the line of scrimmage and create the negative play last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 fast motion from the offense quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play I like offenses being creative I'm not sure if that was the best place to call that play I think this offense needs to think about just doing things a little bit more by the book they've got a lot of good Playmakers you don't have to reinvent the wheel this early in the game on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down he makes a catch and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up defenses throughout the week study every third down situation you got to be ready for what they do how how they do it and then be able to adjust great job by the offense so far having [Applause] success grabbed in the back field it's Saunders and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one and I love the idea of getting this guy screen throws because of his ability after the catch so nice job getting downfield getting a hat on hat and giving him a tunnel to run through they'll go to work on second down after doing damage on the ground back to pass it's Allard just had to get rid of that one good job to avoid the [Applause] loss couldn't find his man last time now they'll will have to convert third and four from the gun wants to pass receiver looks it in it's complete brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the chains it's at the 22 really nice job there by the quarterback understanding that it's Zone coverage on third down you're going to have to find someone working into a soft spot get the ball out of your hands quickly make an accurate throw and pick up the first well done the give to the tail back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions after that last loss it's second and 12 they'll go to the counter going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 the Run game just has not been working for this offense all game long saw it on that last play as well just not getting enough push up front on the offensive line they haven't been physical just outside the red zone at the 21 but it's third and long from the gun wants to [Applause] pass makes the grab it's fliming they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down marker that's exactly what they told us they wanted to limit yards after the catch and it pays off on this play and especially in these situations in third down when you know the ball's going to come out fast understanding that breaking on the football going making the tackle and forcing the fourth down right down the boulevard it's good and that lead grows even bigger [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] after putting up the field goal they're set to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside his SP just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 the Illinois offense returns to the field the deficit here is just 10 points David So a chance to answer here plenty of time left in this football game no need to panic this offense just has to put a couple Drives together and listen the defense will get this back and get some stop call and get you the football back and I think I think here too David you have an opportunity to keep the pressure on the opponent yeah they just went down and scored but you score here and this game still tight you keep their feet to the fire so an opportunity here to keep applying that pressure the G to the back defense there to stop him after a two-yard gain to the 31 oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping to run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack decb Rising as the crowd Gets behind this defense on third down they'll try to power their way ahead and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs Illinois picked up the first down now here they come again been showing them the run now they'll throw it grabs it in the middle at the 45 on it way he is feeling it a huge play almost took it to the house but they got him at the well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game that big play flipped the field now they go go to work from just outside the Red Zone to the air it's altm fires to the wide out almost intercepted it'll fall incomplete the defense almost came up with a turnover oh that hit him in a bad spot right in the hands great play you still get a pass break up but man that could have been an interception by the defender there nice break on the football but secure that big fella and get the six get the pick six after the incompletion they go back up top they're trying to get to it that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't notree for a fumble yeah it felt incomplete because he did a great job of getting to the quarterback he's in the pocket yeah he's he's comfortable but you get in there and you get a hit on him now he feels it can't go the football can't follow through with his arm motion nice job by the defense couldn't find a man and just had to throw it away to avoid a negative play nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion now looks as if they'll settle for the field goal try and he'll need a little distance and to bend it just right a 41 y from the left PCH never a doubt H 10 Illinois 3 so they were able to put up a spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather he'll bring it out it's Carpenter he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the Touchback the dney Lions going back to work on offense now and to settle for the Chip Shot field goal last time Jesse they had love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more Chris P yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points dropping back it's Allard and that pass will be jar loose on second down that brings up third down well that looked like it was going to be a completion but how about the defender making the hit and forcing the incompletion good couldn't find his man last time now they'll have to convert third and four he wants to throw it he puts a lot of air under it down the sideline and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of a look that they got they weren't successful and now it's Fourth and short territory who knows what they're going to do Lions will call on their punt team this will be their first punt of the afternoon he'll feel the punt and try to make a big play he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return trying to find his man on first down it's complete to the right there's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer right on target with that last pass now it's second and medium he's looking to throw just a short pass to the tight end we've got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down looking to throw for it feeling some heat and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes timeout called here by the defense it's their first of the half Illinois runs the punt unit onto the field this will be the second time they've had to kick it away a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work just over 30 seconds to play here in the first half as they take over first and [Music] 10 to the air it's Allard unloads to the wide out got his man the offense calls time out is the second one they've used this half and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down open Runway ahead ripped off a huge sharp play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after the fact so it's okay for him to make catches just got to get him to the ground quickly the nitty lions are threatening in the red zone they'll throw it on first down he's got it on the move and he'll go out of BS just short of the goal line and they've got it right on the doorstep my old coach said you'll never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never complain just a few seconds remaining here as they try to put something up before halftime wants to throw on second down Let It Go to The End Zone and he's got it touchdown pen State wow what a play we got we're going to need to see that again to make sure he makes this catch and gets the foot in bounds that was a great acrobatic play understanding where you're at on the field to make that big catch [Music] they'll try to attack one more on their score extra point the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss you get that touchdown right before the half build the momentum and the last thing you need to do is messing up by allowing a big kickoff return from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position and the coverage team able to make the [Applause] tackle takes this hand off and headed to the right good vision and determination there to find its way up to the 23 first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connors in our halftime update guys one of the best atmospheres in football and we've got a fun one from Happy Valley and I get it a lot of coaches will say the difference between winning and losing comes down to stopping big plays and getting big plays but if you ask me it's more about how good you are on third down and how efficient you are in keeping drives alive those two stats can help you break the will of even the best defenses and help you come out on top and with that let's send it back to the guys in inside Beaver Stadium the nitty Lions will kick it away to crank up the second [Applause] half he'll start the return inside his five and the coverage team gets to returner on the ground here comes the Ali offense back onto the field trailing by a couple of scores they'd like to generate some confidence here early in the third quarter down two possessions the coaching staff met in at halftime and they' probably scripted this opening drive just like they do at the start of the game they've now got an idea of what plays they feel most confident in what plays they quarterback is seeing the best to go out here and execute a scoring well and it's nice to get the ball first like I got the first opportunity to close the gap a little bit apply some bra game pressure to these guys so I think getting the ball first driving down scoring right here would be huge didn't have much of a choice there but to get rid of it that's a good decision by the quarterback I know that's not going to come up on the stat sheet but you're in the pocket nobody's open Don't risk turning it over just throw it away if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and the quarterback is knocked down back at the 13 well the defense knew coming into the second half here they were going to have to crank up the pass rush right they've got the lead they're going to be seeing this quarterback drop back how can you affect him got to win up front one-on-one and get home and they did there on third down Illinois lining up to punt this one away they'll look to pin him deep not going to risk a return here he'll make the fair Catch and state sends the offense back onto the field David they love to do do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything went well Palmer they executed and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well and I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their heels and the nitty Lions moving quickly to the line looking to pass inside the Red Zone it's complete that throw and catch gets them down to the six and the defense is running out of answers you got man-to-man coverage and running that curl route that ball has to come out you know you're going to get hit like you know you stopped your route he's going to be right there but does a great job securing the catch getting the first down the nitty lions are threatening on first and goal looking to throw it's Allard makes the grab he's all the way down to the two yd line just spectacular execution there a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do they'll run it left looking for the End Zone here that play just never never had a chance they knock him down for a loss of five it's looking like they're going to have to try to throw this one into the end zone here on third down David quarterback's got to be careful can't get greedy because you know these windows they close fast extremely tight Windows find your big body guys that you know can win in contested situations here on third down well on Third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw a ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down now on fourth down they'll send out the field goal unit right on target the first time now he'll try another from 24 yds out it is Clow as he puts three on the board and now the lead is even bigger [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] that lead just keeps getting fatter in this kickoff team doing a little running on the run from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the Illinois offense returns to the field after giving up that score now it's incumbent on this offense to kind of get a back and forth going Jesse in this game they got to put some points on the board here there's obviously a lot of football to go so it's not necessarily Panic time just yet but I'm getting the ball into the hands of my best Playmakers on this drive I hear you Jesse but not panic time have you seen my defense I I mean I'm not trusting them to get a lot of STS so he puts a lot of pressure on this offense looking to throw it's altm this one's complete and it'll be a pick up of nine they're facing a third and one the thing I like about the slot receiver he's really intentional in his route run the quarterback always knows exactly where he's going to be on the field they've got great chemistry here here they come trying to convert a third and short from the [Music] 28 they'll try to run for it he'll move it up to the 37 yd line and it'll be a first down you ain't getting by all these guys right up the middle unless your offensive line and your tight ends and everybody is putting in the work up front committing to blocking the running back does a great job finding the hole exploding through how about that nice big huge game if I'm the OC let's call that one again he'll come out throwing on first down gets it out fast no chance to run but still still a solid pick up on that one I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second five third and five and it is when we start getting those long yarded situations on second down wants to throw and that ball is picked off looking for more room he's at the 10 touchdown nitty Lions a great return for the touchdown any return for a touchdown is a great one to a defense the DB saw it he thought don't drop it don't drop it then thought don't get caught don't get caught and he didn't the pick six hey these guys can play offense too man look at this I showed you I can be a wide receiver coach might split him out at wide receiver next week after making that big play but defense job making the interception and you're right doing something with it don't just slide down don't be content take that thing all the way back they'll try to add another to their lead for extra point and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead [Music] that they're lining up to kick it off after the pick six and that defense will come out feeling it on the move from inside is five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 here comes the Aline eye offense back onto the field they face a pretty tall mountain here Jesse down 24 but if they're going to climb it this is a good time to start sense of urgency has got to be big right here you just get the feeling at this point of the game David they've got to score on this Drive obviously their defense needs to get stops but at this point offensively they've got to execute much better they they got to be super aggressive down 24 you're going to need three touchdowns three two-point conversions everything to kind of go your way so fast and throw in the football and it'll be incomplete this is some physical pass defense third down coming guys this offense is already reeling down multiple possessions really need to cash in on this drive got it in the middle it's Sanders and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting to his profession the give on the counter One Step W twostep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground I never know if it's grammatically correct to say a team is being out physical he a lot in football though that's happening in this game they are just not getting the push they need all game long up front to have any success when they decide to run it after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun he leaves it with the back and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up I think they called that knowing they weren't going to hit a home run so why would you call it that well you call it so third down becomes an easier down it's not third and long where I have to pass the football now all options on the ball spotted right at Midfield as they try to convert third and short trying to pick it up on the ground they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster yeah they're just going to need more push up front there was nowhere for that running back to go the offensive line got moved right back into his lap and as a result they lose yards on that play Illinois runs the punt unit onto the field he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work the NY Lions going back to work on offense now they had this thing in a hammer lock at halftime and now they are really ratcheting up the pressure David and I tell you what this offense doesn't have to change a thing PA they've done what they wanted in the first half and starting off the second half in the same fashion and I like how they're letting different guys get involved too they've got so many different playmakers all over the field as they get set to snap at time winding down here in the quarter and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches and a chance to show off their hands in the passing [Music] game as we start the fourth quarter it'll take a pretty size and will comeback to win this one lining up from the 34 on first down and that running back essentially just did everything right not only did he rip off a 9yd run with the lead late in the game but he stayed in bounds he had the awareness that if I stay in bounds the clock keeps running and it increases our chances of winning this game that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and short off play action tight end finds a soft spot he's brought down but he went backwards after that completion not the way they had it drawn up nice job by the defense staying glued to him getting him on the ground as soon as he catches the football knowing he's a threat I'm not going to let this guy get out of my sights nice job by the D ball is at the 42 yd line close to four down territory here's third and short he'll do it himself nice move to keep running found enough room to get it into enemy territory they're down at the 43 yd line there's an example of the offense taking advantage of all the attention the defense is giving this outstanding running back remember he's one of the best in the game they're expecting him to get the football so the quarterback says you know what I'll just keep it no one's keying on me I'm going to get up field and find an explosive play out of the gun the give to the back a solid pick up there before the defense is able to make the stop you got to give the coaching staff credit because they really do Focus all season long on situational football with the lead late in the game if we're on offense we're trying to stay in bounds we're trying to bleed the clock and after ripping off a really nice run that guy knew I've got to get down I cannot get pushed out of bounds cannot get tackled out of bounds really really nice job he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down everything going the offense's way trying to ice this game late they've got a really nice lead so you you just want to run the ball high percentage throws and keep the chains moving and they're doing that this has been a beautiful drive to watch offense continues to stay in a nice Rhythm here late on the run it's Singleton give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first after picking up a couple at second and eight they'll ride the running back and leave it with him and he's able to shed one tackle and pick up pretty good yardage looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him [Applause] out ball is at the 20 they'll try to convert this third and short they'll try to run for it got some room headed to the goal line touchdown pen State and the route is on points points and more points this offense has had their way they just keep their foot on the gas keep putting up points keep putting up touchdowns and you know what this is one of those stats days you look back and you're like that guy had 12 touchdowns on the year Well four or five of them might have have been in this [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] game lining up to tack one more onto that [Applause] lead and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further 76 yds on the drive for the touchdown and the score came on an impressive run from the 20 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive here he comes from inside his own five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Illinois offense returns to the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play in a get you in less predictable situations no doubt too and don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here they opened up this drive getting all the way out to the 35 and now it's first down again he's looking to throw it and the defense is all over the quarterback and down he goes and I tell you what this defense they've heard all about how great this quarterback is they came in today with a mission with a purpose they've been flying around harassing him and making life so hard on this [Applause] offense big first down sack for the defense brings up second down dropping back it's alt Meer quickly complete and a big key on that three to the SL receiver guys is putting the ball out in front the location of the throw is what helped that guy get extra yards after the [Music] catch third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here they'll try to pick up the first through the air short throw to the sideline is complete and it'll be enough for the first down he might have expected to see this DB up in his receiver's kitchen instead nice little Zone and they pick up the football man offenses are getting so good reys at seeing the holes in the zone knowing you're in zone knowing where to sit down how to make it an easy pitch and catch for the quarterback and that's what it was on Third and sure going up top on first down got him in it's Franklin really putting and that wide receiver comes back and it's easy pitch and catch for the offense Illinois coming out with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air they'll throw it to the back on the screen and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pick up well a nice Gainer on that running back screen now how about the offensive line getting downfield and getting blocks really help out the back find some space to go to work completion a little short of the sticks it's second down back to the air one more time catch in the middle it's Franklin and he goes down right there but a solid pick up and it'll be a first down excellent throw by the quarterback found the window between the zones and then delivered the ball on time from the 17 yd line it's first and 10 we hit the two-minute warning and this offense is desperate to make something happen and do it in a [Applause] hurry from the 17 yd line threatening to score on First and 10 wants to throw it's alt Meer and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down the offense quickly calls timeout to stop the clock after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down got it set up on the outside and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one anden the defense playing really conservative right you got the lead but here's what I'm trying to do I'm trying to get sacks I got to get to the quarterback like I got to make sure I'm getting him knocking him off the spot patting my stats by the way got a lot of sacks late in game when we had a big lead but that's okay that's what you're supposed to keep competing [Music] defense wants to throw on third down he CAU it and he was thinking six but that D knocks him down at the two and on that third and short I don't think he was unhappy to see that zone nope was a great job by the offense hey see where the holes in the zone are sit down you only need a little bit of yards on this third down get the conversion move the sticks it's first and goal as Illinois comes to the line he's got the tight end and he'll take it in for the touchdown it won't have much impact on the outcome of the game but it is a
