NC State 2024 College Football Schedule Preview/Projected Record

[Music] what's up sports fans this is the Lucas Ross Sports channel we continue here with my 2024 college football schedule preview and projected record series the North Carolina State wolf pack are up next before we preview their schedule for 2024 and give them an early projected record based on how tough their schedule is let's take a look at what North Carolina state did back in 2023 here were my projections and predictions last year for the wolf pack my projection had them at 7 and5 and then my prediction for them was 8-4 so I did have a little bit of a difference there with my projection and predictions last year for this team North Carolina State though going 9 and3 in the regular season of 2023 9 and4 overall though if you count their bow game loss to Candace state in the poptarts bow so North Carolina State coming off a nine- win season last year in 2023 I didn't really expect them to be better but you know they really did prove me wrong last year with a nine- win season here was the schedule last year for the wolf pack you can see their non-conference schedule they played Yukon on the road Notre Dame at home and they also played BMI and Marshall so they had a pretty easy non-conference schedule but they did lose to Notre Dame there at home on September the 9th remember that game was so delayed for so many hours and they finally got the game completed so they um lost a Notre Dame there as we look at the three losses that they had last year they lost a Notre Dame in the non-conference and then in the conference schedule they lost to Lobo at home and then they lost to Duke on the road so only two losses last year in the conference for this North Carolina State team and they had a pretty good schedule last year they played Clemson at home Miami at home that was were like really key wins here for North Carolina State and they also beat their rival North Carolina for the second straight year in a row so North Carolina state had a pretty easy schedule last year uh with you know Clemson Miami and North Carolina all at home and even Louisville but they ended up losing that game and also Notre Dame even though they lost that game as well so that's a look back at 2023 let's now look ahead to 2024 here is the schedule for the upcoming season for the wolf pack before we go game by game let's take a look at who North Carolina state will play in the non-conference so this is their non-conference schedule they will play Western Carolina that'll be their season opener there on a Thursday night on August 29th and then they play Tennessee here in week number two again that's the big non-conference game here in week number two that game is going to be in Charlotte of course on a neutral sight field and then they play Louisiana Tech in Northern Illinois so not a tough non-conference schedule at all here for North Carolina state of course that Tennessee game does make the non-conference schedule a little bit tough but you got three other games on here in the non-conference that are definitely going to be pretty much easy wins and guaranteed wins here for North Carolina state so not a tough non-conference schedule at all here for the wolf pack in 2024 let's go back to the schedule now for 2024 let's go game by game here for North Carolina State and preview each and every single game here on this schedule they will start things off with Western Carolina on August 29th again that's the season season opener that is going to be on a Thursday and then there's that big game here on September the 7th against Tennessee here in Charlotte again that's a big time week number two matchup and also potentially a top 25 matchup as well then they play Louisiana Tech after that on September the 14th so they will play three out of their four non-conference games here to kick off the season and then they open up conference play here on the road at Clemson on September the 21st that's a tough way to start out conference play you do play Clemson of course it seems like almost every year and they will play them on the road this time pretty much a Revenge game for Clemson and then they play not Illinois here their other non-conference game on September the 28th so they got like four games here in the month of September and they they got five games here to start out the uh you know year of 2024 and they get to the month of October they'll play Wake for us here at home on October the 5th Syracuse at home on October the 12th and then they play on the road here at Cal on October 19th one of those newcomers of course coming up in the conference this upcoming season and they will play them on the road and then North Carolina state will finally get their first bye here it comes at the last weekend here the month of October and then they get to the month of November they'll play Stanford here at home another one of those newcomers this year in the conference and then they play Duke here at home on November 9th a Revenge game here for North Carolina State and then they play Georgia Tech here on the road they get a byee here before playing this game on November the 21st this game will be on a week night it looks like it's going to be on a on a Thursday so they will play two Thursday night games here on this schedule and then they close things out here with the Rivalry of course with North Carolina on the road here on November 30th so that's the schedule here for the wolf pack in 2024 um it's not really a tough schedule at all when you look at it you know you got Clemson on the road yes that's a very tough road game you also got Cal on the road which definitely could be a trap game there in the month of October and then you got Georgia Tech and North Carolina but really not any tough roow games at all to be honest you know North Carolina is going to be a tough one as well but look at the schedule you get Wake Forest Syracuse at home you get Stanford at home you get Duke at home and then also you get Tennessee on the neutral site venue and again a lot of games at home here for North Carolina State for 2024 let's now get to the projection here for North Carolina State and find out what the projection is comes out to be here for North Carolina State uh based on the schedule and like I said this is not an official prediction this is simply a projection based on how tough that schedule is and based off of where North Carolina state was last year and also based off of where these teams were from last year as well this is the scale I use here for my projections if it's a 1% game you can count that as an automatic loss there in the red 20% games in the orange or games or North Carolina state will be about a couple touchdowns of underdogs 40% games in the yellow our games for North Carolina state will be a heavy Underdog in byy about a touchdown you probably won't see any of those games on here just because of how this schedule uh plays out here for the wolf pack 50-50 games those these will stay in the white uh games that can go either way 60% games in the purple are games where North Carolina state will be favored by at least a touchdown then the 80% games in the blue about of games are you know where North Carolina state will be favored by a couple of touchdowns and then the 99% games here in the green these are the easy wins here for North Carolina State and that's the percentage I'm going to start here with North Carolina state for this projection so we'll start with the easy wins here for North Carolina state in the green at 99% and I think you got four of them on this schedule Western Carolina Louisiana Tech Northern Illinois and then Stanford here these are all home games here you got three non-conference games and then of course your one conference game here against Stanford I think Western Carolina l n and Northern Illinois are definitely over 95% and then that Stanford game it's definitely at 90% just because it's a conference game but and this game was on the road I definitely would put it in the blue but with North Carolina State being at home I have to put this game in the green and Stanford you know they weren't really good last year I don't know how they're how good they're going to be in their first year in this conference either so I'm going to say that North Carolina state will be favored by at least like over like by three touchdowns and all four of these games in the green and you can count these four games in the green as automatic wins they're not really automatic wins but we just count them here in this projection so let's now go to the next percentage now the games in the blue the games were North Carolina state will be favored by a couple touchdowns at 80% and I got a couple of them here in the schedule and that comes in the conference it's Wake Forest and Syracuse uh Wake Forest and Syracuse are both two teams and two programs that are coming off pretty average type Seasons last year wake force is a team that has a lot of question marks Syracuse also the same kind of thing I don't really know what to expect here for both of these teams because I haven't really looked ahead into their rosters and still we don't know what the rosters look like for all these teams so I think North Carolina State playing at home though will be favored by at least a couple of touchdowns if both of these games were on the road I definitely would put it here um you know both of them in the purple so yeah Wake Forest and Syracuse I think are guaranteed U not guaranteed wins but we can count them as wins anyway we count the green and blue games as wins um you know here for North Carolina State let's now go to the next Pur the games in the purple the games where North Carolina state will be favored by a touchdown and I got two of them here California and Georgia Tech both on the road here uh Cal is a team that has a lot of question marks going into their first year of the conference but California made it to a bowl game last year and I definitely think they can actually compete with the ACC this upcoming season it's kind of early to say that for right now but I think Cal definitely has an opportunity uh to be a really good team this year this game is on the roads that's the reason why I put it here in the purple uh for North Carolina State but North Carolina state is still that more talented team and I think they'll be favored by at least a touchdown and then Georgia Tech I know Georgia Tech made some progress last year but they're still a long ways away from you know competing uh with some of these top teams in the conference but we've seen that now in the last couple years I think you know playing on the road NC State will still be like a touchdown of a favorite you know this game was at home I'd still would probably put it in the purple to be honest because I feel like Georgia Tech is going to be a very comp competitive team this year so that's the reason why I'm putting this game in the purple uh you know two reasons is just is just because North Carolina state is the more talented team and with it being on the road that definitely is you know making it a purple game here for me for North Carolina state so those are the games those are the couple games where I think North Carolina state will be favored by a couple touchdowns and then the rest of the games here in the white like I said I don't think any games on this schedule you can put the wolf pack as an underdog uh pretty much the rest of the four games though Tennessee Clemson Duke and nor North Carolina these are pretty much your 50/50 games in my opinion uh Tennessee that's definitely a neutral sight venue really can't predict against it you know both of these teams I think are pretty even they're both coming off nine win seasons and this is definitely like a top 25 Showdown here in week number two of the Season again that game is going to be in Charlotte and then Clemson here on the road based off of where Clemson was last year I'm definitely making this one as a 5050 game and also the Wolfpack beat Clemson last year but with it being on the road in Death Valley this definitely would um you know this definitely would be a 50-50 game if it was at home here for the wolf pack I definitely would make this a favorable game here for North Carolina State but that's a 50-50 game and then of course Duke that's a rivalry game you never know what can happen plus the Blue Devils I know they're going to have a first year head coach and all but you know this is a a Duke team that beat North Carolina State last year so revenge is definitely on the minds here for the wolf pack and then North Carolina that's obviously a 50-50 game each and every single year I know North Carolina state has beaten them two years in a row but I'm going to stick with it and put it as a 50/50 game just because it's a rivalry game you never know it can happen so all four of these games I think are definitely 50-50 games here for the wolf pack so let's now get a projected record here based on this schedule for the wolf pack and again this is not an official prediction this is simply a projection based on how tough the schedule is so we count those four green games as wins then we count those couple blue games there as wins as well then we average out the purple games at 60% and then you um average out the 50/50 games you with those 50/50 games at 50% and again you average them at 50% as well and the overall projection that you get here for North Carolina State comes out to be 9 and3 for 2024 realistically I could see North Carolina State going 10-2 to be honest with this schedule because it really sets up nicely for them they don't get a bye-week though until like the last week of the of the month of October but still this is a really favorable schedule here for the wolf pack again a team that's coming off a nine- win season last year and and again when you get a projection of about 9 and three you had to split those 50/50 games I think they can win at least like two out of the four games here in the 50-50 range that Tennessee game we don't really make it like a winnable game as of right now just because it is on a neutral site venue uh they can win it and they can always obviously lose it so that's the reason why the projection came out to be 9 and three as well but again projection projected record here for North Carolina State comes out to be at 9 and3 for 2024 give me your thoughts on this North Carolina State team down in the comments below and
