College Football *Week 2* Picks & Predictions | 2024

ladies and gentlemen we are back here for my college football week number two picks and predictions a few housekeeping things before I get into this these are not the updated AP rankings I'm doing this video on Monday I always do it on Monday week one is kind of weird because there are games on Sunday and Monday so they wait until Tuesday to release the AP poll but normally the AP poll comes out Sunday and we got updates but in this situation it's a little bit different it's not going to change much there wasn't anything crazy crazy that happened in week one I guess LSU losing last night you could maybe qualify at it I certainly thought they were going to win but either way guys let's kick it off noon so there are no Thursday or Friday ranked matchups we do have the big seismic Michigan Texas top 10 matchup Showdown you've got Texas coming off that massive win over Colorado State they were 34o favorites they won 52 two to nothing Quinn yers in company Isaiah Bond the transfer receiver from Bama they're traveling to an arbor what a great non-conference game this is great home and Home Series Texas they opened minus three and a half that was the preseason line they're already up to minus 6 and a half Michigan struggled against Fresno State that was a very close game towards the end it looked kind of like a blowout just because of the pick six late when Fresno State had first and goal possibly going to be within three in that game if they would have scored Michigan it's concerning you've got orgy you've got Davis Warren who's your quarterback we're all kind of going with Texas and and I will jump in on the parade there I will take Texas to win this game lower scoring originally I was like maybe 2317 but I saw how much Michigan struggled on offense I know Michigan has something has some like a crazy streak where in September in October at home they haven't lost the game in like three or four years or something like that I guess maybe that's not too crazy but they they have some crazy regular season streak it's bound to end at some point and I do think in this situation Michigan just does not have the QB play Texas I don't love them I actually did not have them in the playoff but in this situation they're catching Michigan at such a great time early in the season before Michigan has really figured out their quarterback situation they only outgained Fresno State by like 20 two yards Fresno State's not a bad team but give me Texas on the road this game really should be I think this would be obviously a great 730 or a great 330 game but big noon Scoops it up and I do think that will also contribute to a lower scoring game the over under in this one is only in the 40s there's not going to be a ton of points scored in it and I do think Michigan will fight early it's a huge game they're at home it's an arbor it's 110,000 but give me Texas to win and I don't feel extremely confident about them covering but I do like a lower scoring Texas Victory in that one the next noon game we do have Penn State coming off that big win against West Virginia Penn State got a I'm not g to say they got lucky because they were blowing out West Virginia in the first half but let's be honest I mean they had like a 4H hour weather delay the crowd is completely taken out of the game in that scenario also that game was on at noon so I think Penn State got a little bit lucky there but still that was a great performance for Penn State I like Penn State to make the playoff they're a top 10 team right now they're taking on bowl and green bowl and green they won week one they beat forom I think 41 to 17 they're still we know how bad they are every year in the Mac though they were kind of decent last year they made a bll game Penn State sitting minus 31 and a half I do think Penn State wins this game and covers the spread relatively easily I do also like the over the over under in this game is only like 49 and a half so give me the over there Penn State wins this game 49 to1 they build off of the week one momentum and maybe there's a narrative that this might be Penn State's year I mean a lot of people had pen State losing straight up to West Virginia they win that game 34-2 so we will see another noon game this is an 11:00 a.m. Central kickoff it is Oklahoma State taking on Arkansas these games are always interesting because you have an Arkansas Team who just annihilated Arkansas Pine Bluff 70 to nothing but how about Oklahoma State beating South Dakota State 44-20 really impressive week one game by the way you look at the ESPN fpi that's going to be a little wonky this week because it's taking into account all the week one matchups and if you blow out your opponent in in week one it's going to have a huge overcorrection because there's not a lot of data with it right now considering we've only played one game so you can see Oklahoma state only a 56% chance to win but they're favored by eight that's because Arkansas just annihilated Pine Bluff and so the FBI kind of you know Waits that but Oklahoma State sitting minus 8 I do like the value in Arkansas now I did pick against Oklahoma State in terms of the spread last week and I lost so I I guess we'll have to see but I do think this is going to be a closer game this is again this is a tough one because it's like Arkansas destroyed Pine Bluff but Arkansas Pine Bluff is just horrible so I guess we'll see Oklahoma State they did a very very good week one performance I like this to be a fun close game give me Oklahoma state but I do like Arkansas to cover we do have another noon game it is Kansas state traveling to take on to Lane so a little zesty match up here Kansas State I wasn't all that impressed in Avery Johnson in week one they did beat UT Martin like 41 to6 two lane one in a blowout two lane always seems to have a good team and to me 10 points is just far too much I mean Kansas state only given a 55% chance to win I was not that impressed I do think we see a potential upset here we're going to see him it's college football give me two lane not a fun match up at all for Kansas State going on the road I will take to Lane the Green Wave to win this game 31-28 next we do have have a random 2:00 game you got to love these start times you've always got the the the normal Windows the noon the 3:30 the 7:30 then you've got games sprinkled in between how about this Tennessee Tech the golden eagles of the FCS taking on Georgia the number one overall team in college football Georgia destroyed Clemson last week Tennessee Tech fought I know they lost I think they lost like 32 to 25 against an FBS team so Tennessee Tech not the worst but obviously Georgia is probably going to be around maybe 50 point favorites in this game Georgia normally never runs up the score against teams like this I'm guessing they'll probably go up like 49 to nothing around halftime and then normally they just run the clock out in the second half honestly when it comes to how they play these games so I don't think George is going to drop a 70 burger or anything like that I've got it at 59 to7 Tennessee Tech possibly scores a touchdown late but obviously that will be a blowout moving out to the 330 window it is Notre Dame coming off their huge win against Texas A&M they will be hosting Northern Illinois northern Illinois had a very good week one performance themselves Notre Dame sitting around 29 and a half Point favorites given a 96% chance to win this is Notre Dame's home opener and I do think it's going to be closer than expected it always seems like Notre Dame is involved in one of these closer than expected games with a Mac team and it feels like week two maybe a little bit of Hangover coming off that huge emotional week one win on the road now you're coming back home you're taking on a team your massive favorites over maybe a little bit bit clo closer than expected Northern Illinois can score and I do think Northern Illinois will cover that 29 and a half point spread the next 3:30 game it is Utah hosting Baylor so in mountain time this will be a 130 game Utah sitting minus5 kind of a weird matchup but we got to get used to these matchups with the conference realignment Utah they shut out Southern Utah they do always have a good defense and they are at home Dayan fin the transfer QB from Toledo he will be leading tlor they are one and0 I do think Utah wins this game maybe a boring lower scoring game don't love it either way in terms of the minus 15 personally I think Baylor could score a late touchdown to cover but I do like Utah obviously to win this game out right in a lower scoring Affair I've got this one at 30-1 another 330 game it is the Rivalry Iowa Iowa State happens every year you do have Iowa sitting minus two and a half in this game you know Iowa state had a very disappointing week one performance they only scored 21 points against North Dakota they've got a pretty prolific offense or at least supposedly a pretty Pro prolific offense with a Young quarterback we will see they're going to Iowa as for Iowa it was looking like more of the same last week they were up six to nothing but uh they did end up winning 40 to nothing they scored a bunch of points in the second half trying with that revamped offense new offensive coordinator they are ranked I do think they'll move up a few spots in the AP pole probably to 23 or 22 kind of surprising they're only two and a half Point favorites but I would imagine that's Vegas thinking Iowa state will correct themselves and be better on offense but they are going on the road however I do think this is going to be a closer low-scoring game normally with Iowa we had the over hit last week the under should be a lock this week although I don't know maybe they are a revamped team and normally the Iowa Iowa State over unders are very low anyways but give me Iowa to win this game and just barely cover if you can get them minus two and a half I think that's decent value although it probably will get bet up to minus three how about this random start time 4:15 it is Old Miss coming off that just destruction of Ferman 76 to nothing they were up like 52 to nothing at halftime yeah they've been trending in this game they were minus 39 they've already been bet up to minus 41 because they trounced firman so bad you know Jackson Dart had like 450 yards in the first half Middle Tennessee State huh oh miss sitting 98% chance to win this game I do have Old Miss dropping after a 70 Burger last week they get 60 Burger 63 to 10 they cover they win this game by 53 points against Middle Tennessee State we've got a six o'clock game it is Florida A&M the Rattlers there's a rare logo out of the FCS they will be taking on the U Miami so Miami this is their home opener at Hard Rock they're coming off that crazy win and they're just gonna annihilate Florida A&M cam Ward is going for the Heisman this year 62-6 the final cam Ward gets five touchdowns in the first half and I'm guessing Miami will probably be around 52 53 Point favorites when the line is released moving on to the seven o'clock window we do have Alabama so how about Alabama backtack home game starting at 7 o'clock Bama the number five team they possibly Mo will move up we'll have to see they destroyed Western Kentucky and the analytics love Alabama Jaylen milro went seven of nine for 200 yards and had like five total touchdowns South Florida remember them this is a home and home remember when Alabama went to South Florida last year and it was the weather delay and they barely won well now they're 31-point favorites they were 31-point favorites against Western Kentucky and blew them out and I think they do blow out South Florida maybe a little bit closer than the Western Kentucky game they win this and they cover 49 to4 there in that one another 7:00 game it is Buffalo the Mac team traveling to take on Missouri Missouri a very easy schedule this year they get another easy game here they're 34-point favorites you know I like Missouri but let's not get a little bit overzealous here with Missouri I do like Buffalo to cover this spread Missouri wins by 27 but Buffalo with a late touchdown ends up covering remember Missouri covered last week it was a 50 point spread they won 51 to nothing they're not going to cover this week I think Missouri might be a little bit overrated and this Buffalo team they're going to hang in there and they're only going to lose 37 to 10 let's be honest another 7:00 game here's another home in home it is Kansas traveling to Illinois now last year Kansas destroyed Illinois on a Friday night at home I think it was week two or week three I love Kansas I think they're making the playoff as the number four overall seed because they're going to win the Big 12 this could be a tough match up for them they're six and a half Point favorites Illinois is coming off a very nice 45 to nothing victory over an FCS team Eastern ill illo but still it's a nice Victory and people are hyping up Illinois as a team with a good defense I do think this is going to be a close early season game Kansas is going to have to work out some Kinks they're going to win it 30 to 27 if you're Kansas if you're KU just get out of here with a victory that's really all that matters in the Big 12 you're not looking for Style points just get the win and I do think they win this game on the road in a close Fun uh non-conference matchup next we do have Western Michigan the Broncos out of the Mac traveling to take on the number two overall team the Ohio State Buckey who did beat akan 52 to6 you know and looking at this Ohio State team they remind me a lot of last year now I do think will Howard is an upgrade over mcord but last year Ohio state had like a fringe top 15 offense but then a super Elite defense it feels like they're the exact same team honestly like they're going to have maybe like a fringe top 10ish offense but the defense is going to be crazy good and so you've got Western Michigan Ohio State did not cover last week the line has come down a little bit minus 38 and a half for Ohio State I do think the Buckeyes cover they win this game 48-3 but it's another kind of sluggish game you know last week it was kind of sluggish against akan this week maybe a little bit more of the same maybe more explosive offensive plays early in this one and then Ohio State sits on it in the second half I will say Western Michigan did give Wisconsin a run for their money that was a week night game the Thursday night game they almost beat Wisconsin although I think Wisconsin is pretty bad this year honestly moving on to another 730 game it is Nicholls traveling to take on LSU LSU very likely to be ranked probably outside of the top 20 after that loss to USC although it was a very competitive Game LSU certainly still is a good team but certainly another letdown opener opener loss for Brian Kelly that is for sure there's no line in this game I do think based on the trend we've seen with these SEC teams just destroying the FCS teams LSU will take out their frustration on that early week one loss they will drop a 70 Burger they will win this game 72 to7 I do love LSU minus whatever the line is they'll probably be like minus 48 I do think they'll cover that very easily this is a 7:30 game I mean you've got a nice Prime Time start what a great heavyweight matchup this is 72 to7 the final score there we've got another 7:30 game so this probably is like the main Prime Time game for week two this is a neutral sight NC State coming off that disappointing week one performance against Western Carolina taking on Tennessee who just annihilated chat NOOA they are minus s and a half in this game Tennessee I did pick them to make the playoff I do think they've got a great offense every year it seems like it and I do think they win this game to me NC State Grayson Mcall they just showed too many red flags and you're facing a Tennessee team that is able to generate so many explosive plays they win this game going away 31 to 17 they cover that seven and a half point spread not a great spread look at that Tennesse 88% chance to win according to FBI that's a little bit of an overreaction based on NC State's performance forance against Western Carolina and Tennessee blowing out Chattanooga but I still do like the vs to win that one how about a 745 game it is Oklahoma they will be hosting Houston Houston had a horrible week one performance against UNLV Oklahoma was able to beat Temple 51 to3 and cover the spread they're sitting minus 27 and a half in this one I do think Houston plays a little bit better on offense with Donovan Smith but Oklahoma wins this game 45-6 another easy victory for U they will move to 2 and 0 as they will soon begin SEC play there we've got an 8:00 game you know Clemson always does this every year well they will face like a group of five team at8 o'clock and this year it's a you know it's a decent group of five team it's Appalachian State there's been money that's coming on appalachin state we know Clemson is going to be ranked lower than 14 they got destroyed but it was Georgia I mean Georgia is the best team in college football they've recently won two national titles you could easily make an argument the past four or five years they've been the number number one overall team and so you can understand it Kade Club Nick you know this just seems like a game probably going to be at least decently close early on I do like app state to barely cover Clemson wins this is just a boring 8 o00 game let's be honest I don't know I know people like hype up appalachi and state and they are a decent group of five team but it's just random this game's happening at 8 o'clock I'll take Clemson to win though 31- 16 in that one we've got this is a shame it really is sad that this game's on at 10:00 uh it is Eastern time so obviously 7:00 Pacific but still this is a fun match up it is Boise State coming off of 56 to 45 win Over Georgia Southern they're running back Genty six touchdowns uh possibly Heisman the moment here against Oregon if he's able to beat imagine they beat Oregon he has five touchdowns yeah he'd be the Heisman favorite Oregon sitting minus 18 and a half people really down on Oregon what a weird week one performance that was against Idaho they were min 48 48 Point favorites they win 24 to 14 Dylan Gabriel had pretty good numbers he threw for like 380 but like two it was just a really weird game I'm not going to overreact to that game I know everyone is going to be betting on Boise State but I will take Oregon I you know you got to Zig when people zag I'll take Oregon to win this game and cover the spread 47 to 27 I love the over I think this game is easily going over 60 points Oregon is going to get back on track they will generate yardage they will score touchdowns this time and Boise State they allowed 45 points to Georgia Southern this is going to be a higher higher scoring game in my opinion we've got another 10 o'clock game it is Arizona I mean Arizona great offense but a really suspect defense they beat New Mexico but they allowed like 31 points they will be taking on Northern Arizona who they won in week one I think they scored like 50 points the uh FCS TEAM Arizona given a 97% chance to win I do think another higher scoring game Arizona wins this game 58 to 17 another late start for Arizona with Noah faid and then we do have an 11:00 Eastern Standard Time start my goodness it is Miller Moss it is USC coming off their big win they're probably going to be a top 15 top 16 team depending we'll see where they end up getting ranked they will be taking on Utah State and people have been betting on USC they're already up to minus 28 Utah state had a nice performance in week one I think Utah State covers this spread it'll be close maybe USC wins this game 45 to 16 I've I mean USC might score 50 we'll have to see but either way I do think USC wins this game easily but guys that is going to do it for my college football week 2 picks and predictions make
