[Music] Lexus presents tennis on Sky Sports Jack thanks very much for joining me what a match what a couple of weeks firstly just emotionally and physically how are you feeling right now after everything you've put your body through yeah a bit spent um but obviously that's the nature of the sport especially tennis it's it's Relentless both mentally physically emotionally you know you have to have everything as a tennis player um you know I'm obviously very proud of myself and I I can look back on it obviously right now I'm a bit bit emotional a bit um you know bit gone that it had to to be be ending in in that sort of way um but I have to respect that Yan's obviously number one player in the world he's incredible um and so yeah I came on stock today but hopefully I'll have many opportunities in the future you were ill on court was that nerves anxiety a bug what was it yeah I mean it's it's tough you know I'm I'm a I'm a big sweater on Court and it was extremely humid today I felt like I was losing losing a lot um and it was it's difficult you know we're we're pushing our bodies to limits I had two really physical first couple of sets um and and it's difficult sometimes you just with the anxiety with the pressure with everything you know it's you can start to feel a bit um bit sick out there so I I had that today and it's something I'm actually working through um from the start of my career so hopefully that improves a grand slam semi-final though you always want to learn what do you think you will take from the last couple of weeks cuz it has been an exceptional experience hasn't it yeah for sure um you know I think that I've I've proved to myself that hard work does pay off um you know as a as a tennis player I'm always doubtful I'm always you know knowing that so many players can play incredible tennis and um you know until you break down certain barriers you don't believe it's possible you know I won my first ATP title and um that gave me so much um you know feelings feeling calm and and better about myself and obviously coming here and making the semis of a grand s something I thought was possible but I hadn't done before you know it gives me a lot of confidence and a lot of um motivation to keep on trying to go forward your mom spoke to me a little earlier and she was saying that the confidence has really changed since stutgart how important was it to have your family around you I know it's not necessarily something that she said you had asked for but but how much of a difference does that make yeah family for me is the most important thing um you know I've got a lot of support back home um you know having having my mom there today having my brother my dad even at the the back of the box you know it's it's it means the world to me at the end of the day being a tennis player you know it's about yourself out there but you know my parents they they gave everything for me to to be a tennis player you know all the early mornings late nights all the all the sacrifices from such a such a young age that I I went through and that they went through and uh hopefully they're proud of me and and seeing seeing me succeed and seeing me on the the biggest stages in the world is is obviously an emotional moment for everyone yeah it is and you looked like you belong out there playing against the world number one against yanx do you now feel like you belong at there yeah of course you know I've still got a lot to work on I've still got a lot to improve um you know in no way am I content with where I'm at you know I'm I'm still at the end of the day I I need to keep on improving my my physicality my mentality my the way I play but there's no reason why I don't belong top of the game with these guys you know I proved that to myself um on a few occasions this year you know my goal now is to to try and do it more consistently and and put myself in front of these guys on a on a regular basis at the back end of tournaments and I think that is something I'm capable of but it's just a just a matter of time well it was a really impressive run great couple of weeks thanks very much for coming to talk to us Jack thank you cof cheers thanks
