is welcome to Atlanta Georgia site of the 1996 Olympic Games Center Park Stadium and home to the Georgia State Panthers and we have been feeling the excitement for this one all week and boy do we have a fun one ahead top 10 team Target on their back going on their Road and right into the snake pin kickoff team lining up to send this one [Applause] away coming out with it it's hunt I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 the Panthers return team didn't help matters out much with that one and it's his star running back comes onto the field everybody in the stadium knows he's going to get it the defense knows it doing something about it is quite a different thing it's hard to stop him he's hard to handle because he can do it in so many ways he can run by you he can run through you he really has the whole package and that's why he's a superstar and that's why they'll feed him early and often takes this hand off and headed to the right finally run out of bounds but he has his off rolling with a first down and listen the offensive line has to do their job but a really good job by the running back understanding where his hole is go hit it get the first down don't mess around nice job following his hole getting positive yards finds his way for three out to the 33 got three on first down it's second and seven he's looking to throw got his man quickly tackled at the 43 after picking up 10 the Panthers they moving quickly down the field defense loves to show heat and try to confuse the quarterback the run from the shotgun they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know when you're playing against a defense of this cber you're going to have to have some sort of balance right you can't just drop back and throw at every single play nothing going on that last run they're going to have to find another way to get it going handing the ball and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pi up and so many things have to come together perfectly for a screen to work for big yardage and they were close you could tell that almost busted but they just got wrapped up got a little bit of yardage but they really wanted that one to be a big game and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker Georgia state will send out the punt unit first punt of the day and he'd love to lock them up close to their goal line able to keep them from getting return and the ball goes out of bounds they're going to mark it right around the 20 as we take a look at our impact players for this game David what do you look for to make an impact from your leaders your leaders not only have to lead the football team but they got to step up and make plays on the field keep everybody calm these guys typically do a really good job of them yeah David and they also generally set the tone for their respective football teams regardless of which side of the ball they play on the teammates look towards them to step up and games like this and this offense is built around this dud I mean he is Sensational he's been so fun to watch like play pitch and catch spread the ball around complete and total command of the offense and that's why he's putting up big numbers and that's why he's got a real chance to go to New York and try to win that Heisman [Applause] Trophy and they wrap him up but not before he gets enough on the catch for the first down and I love right out of the gate this offense is going to be creative they're going to try to get their best players the football out in the open field you saw it right there pulls it and fires to the left spin still running he's loose and it's in there for a touchdown and coming into the game you look at the stats and you say top 10 offense in scoring so they better be able to create what explosive plays another explosive plays they've been doing it all year long those plays are back Breakers defenses just can't contain this offense fielded In The End Zone it's [Applause] hunt guys the Georgia state offense returns to the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up going it's a draw nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry man what a spectacular play by that defensive end to come up with the tackle there and you see those guys get off the football so fast most of these guys are 250 to 275 lbs but they get off the ball fast low in the offensive lineman they have no chance to stop those guys as quick and as fast as they are Georgia state will send out the punt unit doesn't say t for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt he's got great speed really nice job all the way around got a few blocks made a couple of moves and a good return on that one before he's pushed out of bounds a great spot to start this drive for the offense he'll toss it you'll take four yards on first down every time second and six sometimes people say if you're good enough what's the big deal about going on the road well if you're not careful you might find out in a spot like this one guys yeah no and the ball is free on the pitch and the defense grabs it and they're taking it the other way they make the tackle after the turnover and hang on just a second there's a flag on the field let's see if it stands so they'll decline the penalty please with the results of that last play here's this offense with a fresh set of downs from the gun the ground game he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and [Applause] 12 the give to the back they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about illegal block so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty let's see what they've got on second [Applause] down from the gun they'll try to impose their running game one step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County on Third and long doesn't need to take the check down plenty of time as he fires it to the right a huge pick up on the play before he goes out of bounds but the question is will it stand there is a penalty marker on the field really want to try to pick up at least half of the yardage needed on first and 10 he wants to throw gets it out quickly yeah and you see running backs in today's football they play wide receiver basically but you got to find a guy that you can throw it to and you know he's going to catch the ball consistently defense looks like they're coming you're not getting him on the ground still on his feet and he rolls into the house touchdown Georgia State and this running back is so dangerous down close to the end zone he's got wiggle he's got great vision and Bur all of those attributes right there and we're all square as he's set to kick it away he'll start the return inside his spot nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 guys this offense will go back on the attack after that last drive he came back to the sideline and the coach probably said you dropped it you didn't pick it up come on get on the ball David no that's not what he said he said you're doing a great job just keep your head yeah he got blasted you got to hold on to the football B turnovers to side games those are big plays it's tough on him too cuz he knows he let his offense down on that last drive so you know that guy's eager and anxious to come just causing wreckage in the secondary he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs quarterback keeper pass sticks him still on his feet ripping through the defense and getting it all the way down to the 24 yd line all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their run de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be successful on offense he's there to make the Stop and they grew it in reverse losing yardage on that play he was not fooled on that one you know a lot of times you want to buy space and you throw this route really when it's off coverage but you could tell the cornerback was up ready to come pounce on that screen and get the tackle for and they finally get him stopped but it's a big throw and catch and he's down at the five so so close to cashing it in for this offense he's got and he wanted to score badly but the defense wrestled him down at the two second and goal coming up this quarterback part of their running game Sprints into the end zone for a touchdown ready to try the point after in the end and P gives him a 147 lead and for a quick update let's go to Kevin Conor in the studio guys let's recap that ranked on ranked matchup that has just gone final Ohio State went on the road and just dominated and that's one way to grab attention on a national level make a statement in someone else's building and prove your legit and did the Buckeyes ever do that going to be interesting to see what the fall out from this one is for one ranked team while the other figures to get a bounce when the new rankings come out guys yeah how about that sounds as if they had a good ball game there Kevin thanks for the update they'll go right back to him he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well just nothing doing on that last run and they knew coming into this one they were going to be challenged right this is one of the best defenses in all of college football for them to have any shot they're going to have to do a lot better running the football he'll take a deep shot here and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on so from the shadow of his goal post he gets the punt away he only needs a sliver of daylight good job by the coverage team and that's how will end the period they are lined up and ready to go and get things started here in the second they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down the option look now the toss they'll pick up four second and Six coming and it's just simple simple first down run showing your physicality setting your offense up in a good spot nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry and that's a great job by the defense understanding exactly the situation understanding to stay home play sound no matter who gets the football we're going to run to the football hard we're going to cage the football be disciplined nice job by the defense a third and long coming up here finds his man it's Williams he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down late in the year this guy is square in the middle of the Heisman Trophy discussion because of his performance he throws a nice completion there for a first down but it's been week in week out big moments he's LED this team to a ton of wins he is their best play finds a tight end there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down a lot of emergency for this offense quarterback reacting to what the D is showing fires to the tight end gets it into the end zone but wait a minute we'll have to check out the laundry on the field the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty the offense set for a first down play he he's going to pass he's got it down the middle defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six the offense threatening posted the end zone now with a new set of downs turning to the running game on first and goal and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few now on second and goal tries again to get it in and he steps into the end zone for a touchdown lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point pushes the lead to 14 almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown kick away looks like he's going to try to return it nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Georgia State over ready to send out the offense now we'll get a chance to see if they can answer that last score trailing by 14 Jesse Yeah and at this point of the game I feel like offensively you should go back to what's been working for you in this game don't be afraid to dial up plays that you've already had success with running it and throwing it it's okay to repeat plays down 14 at this point and I would also say Palmer kind of understanding that my defense is not playing right so I know offensively I got to put some good possessions together here make something on this side of [Applause] the Ed the play fake now to throw and they got him he'll get him down for the sack playaction pass success has a lot to do with selling that fake you could tell defense was not buying it got in the back field got the big play now the play fake fires to the wide out on target to the left and they up of better than 30 yard on that completion before the defense brings him down I'm a defense I got to find a way to get some more pressure on the quarterback or disrupt their timing and their Rhythm I can't give them these big chunk plays through the air I got to be maybe a little bit more aggressive or do something a little bit different grabbed behind the line it's Ogden Danes away again and this defense is a half a beat behind they just can't quite keep up they've got it down to the 21 and as a defense how scary is it having to defend this guy he's one of the fastest players in America and you saw it on that last play it's not necessarily throwing him the ball over and the rush will get to him at the 25 a first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 he's looking to throw and it was worth going for a chunk play but the long pass is incomplete seventh play of of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down he's looking downfield to throw they've got the screen set up and he'll be tackled but there is a flag on the field illegal block off so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down looking down field and he needs a [Applause] bunch ample time in the pocket and lets it go to the left the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own end zone out of the gun looking to throw feeling some heat can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that footb ball and it'll be second down they are controlling the ball ninth play of the drive the run up the middle trying to steamroll his way in he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three they've gotten pushed back but is still third and goal from the gun wants to pass they get enough rush and it pays off the sack at the 20 and on fourth down they'll try to put three on the board they pick the spot it's going to be about a 37 yd attempt that thing would have hit a string in the middle of the upright perfect so they were able to put up a three spot on that last drive and now the kickoff team out there as they prepare to put boot to leather and he takes this from inside the five he had visions of Glory on that return but he'll step out of Bounds at the 29 let's see what they have dialed up as this drive starts from the 29 yd line they'll run the option he'll toss it knock down after getting six all the way out to the 34 yd line 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four he's looking to throw got it behind the line it's Williams and the explosive play they're on the move all the way to the 44 as we reach the two warning they'll need to try to get a stop to keep this thing from getting out of [Applause] hand now they'll line it up from the 44 on First and 10 quarterback touch pass on the Jet Sweep and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it right as he's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside and David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of a spot from the 22 on First and 10 quarterback will Audible looking to go up top on first down and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down as a quarterback this is going to be a very tough game you're going up against one of the top 20 units in the entire country they know who your primary target is they're going to be keying on him just like they did that last time forcing the gets a hand on the pass and it's intercepted taking it the other way and they capitalized not only on the pick but on the Great return to improve this field position guys the Georgia state offense returns to the field getting late here in the first half they'll have a chance to make this a one possession game and the offensive play caller here has to really be dialed in it's oh and it's a pick he threw it right into the double coverage what a momentum changer as he makes the interception and then takes the return up to the 50 man that is just great awareness by the big fella up front defensively he did a good job job just reading the quarterback's eyes he he knew where he was going with the football and he's like wa these interceptions not just for the little fast guys let big guys can get it done too they'll line up for a second down play he's looking to throw the short hands it's Williams really good surge for this offense they move the chains and he's got it at the 34 throws a nice completion there for a first down this guy has been the biggest key to this team's success all season long he has shown up in big moments he's won big games he's putting up big numbers and that's why he's in the discussion to win the Heisman TR that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down and they'll come to the line with less than a yard to go and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pickup the offense will have to use its first time out of the half down to the 12 yd line it's first down grabbed in the back field it's Williams and he never had a chance as soon as he caught it the defense was right there operating in the Red Zone here on second [Applause] down dances away from one they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down the offense waste no time getting the timeout call time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment got it looking for a first nice throw great catch easy glide into the end zone for the touchdown they want to finish the season strong and man are they doing that here in this week 11 performance that's number two on the having a day I mean you know he's going to catch the football and you know he's going to make plays after he catches those are the kind of guys that you feature and you find them and they produce like this you keep finding so here comes the kickoff after the touchdown and the last thing you need right before the half is to give up a big return he'll bring it back from inside his SP really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 under a minute to play here in the first half in the off will take a knee and that is how we'll wrap up the first [Applause] half we played two quarters here time to go to Kevin Connor in our halftime update guys tough to beat the pageantry and quality of play so far today in Atlanta talk about a first half from that dude out of the back field he's been a total Game Changer and how many top plays moments have we seen on Miss tackles Alone video game moves from one of the shiftiest players in all of college football and with that let's send it back to the guys at Center Park [Music] Stadium ready to start things here in the second half Georgia State about to kick it away on the move from inside is five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 offense making its way under the field to start the drive they had the lead to start the third quarter but I'd imagine ball security was a topic at halftime yeah and I think you take the lead and you try to stay optimistic with your team but you also say guys if we had taken care of the football this lead would be even bigger we might already knocked them out already Palmer it's just about eliminating the mistakes at this point you're right this thing would be over if they hadn't shot themselves in the foot so ball security that is at a premium as this game goes on brought down at the 46 but he got 10 on the play the offense setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 the the give is to Williams after the pick up of nine it's second and one I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points tackled but he has a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one up lost one that last one it's second and 11 from the gun running back gets to give they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the wrestling right to the ball carrier and a great job by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes free making the back f for a tackle for a l working their way closer and closer a third down conversion and they've got it at the 26 the offense lining up for a first down play that's first the pass on the way it's picked off they get him on the ground after the turn but there is flag on thei really tried to slide if that will be a repre for this offense they'll decline the penalty here the results of the play play STS offense set on first down defense showing Blitz will they bail out of [Applause] it power football with the Run he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 they try to pop a run on the draw at the 35 he's loose that defense got gased but they finally get him to the turf at the 47 Georgia State jumps back to the line man this guy's a playmaker and he does not need a lot of space really nice job that time letting the pass rush get up field so when he got the football there was just green grass out and ahead of him and he made the defense p and when I got a guy like that man I just got to find ways to get him past the dline right and then the draw play is a good way to do it let them run themselves up the field then you can see he's got some serious speed a lot of speed in space is always a good recipe for offense the defense in a most benevolent move giving the offense a new set of downs he's looking to throw it working that left side now he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down Georgia State now has it in the Red Zone they're going to run run it he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage trying to move the sticks on third down movement here from the tight end they'll go to the air on Third and short pressure all over the quarterback and down he goes at the 24 it's fourth down and they'll try the field goal and for the second time in this game he'll try to knock through a field goal this one a 41 y didn't make him sweat at all it's good after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to [Applause] go here he comes from inside his own [Applause] five let's see what this offense has dialed up this time boy they had that last Drive moving a little bit David but then the mistake just crushed it and those mistakes are going to happen you going to throw the football you're going to throw but I think I stay aggressive with this offense I get back to what I did on the first part of that drive what made me successful I agree David just turn the page if you're a quarterback right on this drive you did a lot of good things there leading up to that pick forget about it move on play the next plays and fires complete to the right he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on Third and long trying to have a big completion here caught behind the line it's Williams he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense fresh set of downs after the completion swings it out to the flat at the 40 there he goes finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with the first down receivers telling the quarterback what they see they're going to throw it again fires to the big fella and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up the offense getting set for a first down from the [Music] [Applause] 45 looking to move it through the air fires to the big fella really good concept there to get things going and use the tight end early yeah I mean just such a great job on first down setting up an easier second down understanding I don't always have to push the ball down he makes a grab BS into the end zone for a touchdown this quarterback has been really good today has been on top of it seeing things really really well that pass right there put him over the 300 yd Mark that's a pretty good day lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive man the biggest thing is identifying coverages right like quarterback has to line up and see what he's seeing and see those safeties I know outside with that safety in the middle of the field I got a chance to attack and attack deep with my Speedster and he does a great job throwing the football out there and he does the rest with the catch and then striding it into the end zone nowhere to run on that when he loses four on the carry a negative play to open the Drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 from the shotgun the hand off to the back and maybe they want to try somewhere else because there is nothing doing in the middle of this defense third down and this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores throws to the wide out and the pass is intercepted takes it the other way really nice focus by this sophomore and he jumped on his chance to make a play tell you what when you come out of your own End Zone you know the shadow of your own End Zone a lot of bad things can happen you want to got to get a few first downs get some space so if you punt after that point you can pin them a little bit deep this is the exact opposite of what happened now you set them up in beautiful scoring field position already really bad play by the offense they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here with a first down time winding down in the quarter as they come to the line [Applause] and he'll be stopped for no gain on the final play of the third quarter fourth quarter is coming up one more quarter to play and it might be unlikely but hey it's college football comebacks happen starting off this quarter close enough to smell the goal line they'd love to make this short field payoff with a touchdown instead of settling for three but it is third and goal that score might be the one to put them over the top and run this winning streak to nine wow this offense they have a lot of faith in this running back knowing if they get down into this area of the field can get it done and he can answer the Bell two rushing touchdowns already for this offense and he'll return it and try to get behind his blockers and they'll bring him down to get the offense started on the next Drive first play of this drive comes from the 14 yd line they're going to throw it to start the drive setting up the screen and the completion gives him a fresh set of downs and keeps this drive moving it's first down back at their own 24 yd line he wants to throw shoots it to the left just masterful working that sideline and getting the toe down for the catch the offin setting up shop at the 46 first and 10 he's going to pass caught in the back field it's MC brde really good job working through his progression you get it to him quickly and the big tight end do a CH has to run a little and a really good job by the QB throwing an accurate throw I I got to hit those guys on the Move On The Run so they can do this they can and that is interception number three on the day and a big return after the int sets up the offense for this possession and as a defensive lineman late in the game man when you know it's passed you're pinning your ears back trying to get to the quarterback and DBS are trying to do this pad them stats get the in nice job by this D on second down will they go back to the ground game from the gun the running back has it and how about the work up front by that big defensive line stopping the run is very high on every defensive coordinator's list making the team onedimensional nice job stuffing the run on that play right there he'll take it himself quarterback gets enough can't anyone catch him and how much Running Room have they been able to find on the ground man are they piling up some guardy rushing stats just inside the 30 at the 29 it's first and 10 and a nice solid pick up there before the defense wrestles him to the ground it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down after the productive first down play it's second and six and he really needed to hold on to that one but it was knocked loose and third down is coming well this defense knew coming in they were going to see some RPL and they were going to see some quick game a nice job there taking the throw away from the quarterback he'll keep it himself he gets it oh so close to the first down marker but I think he's going to be a touch short this defense really has their hands full guys they got to play with great eye discipline because they don't know who's going to be keeping the football in the Run game and that time saw the QB he was able to kind of skirt his way to get some positive yards and fourth and inches you know what's coming you know they're going to run the quarterback sneak but it's one of the hardest plays in football to stop you got to find a way to dive from the defensive line spot and stop the feet of got some room enter to the goal line and they're going to score again yet another touchdown as they just add their total with that last touchdown they remain undefeated what can you say about this offense one of the most explo exp in the entire nation and they're coming in I think every week with the mindset that we're just going to outscore everybody we are okay going into a track meet and that's really what we saw in this game today but opponents just cannot keep Pace with them and all of the athletes they have on the offensive side of the Georgia state takes over ready to send out the offense that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no you got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win and David they've got to be able to eliminate the metal mistakes yeah and I don't think you get conservative or play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pick up and this offense I think will do a good job in this game diing up the football and distributing it to different guys in the passing game it won't just be receivers it's not going to be tight ends this running back he's a weapon too after he catches it you saw it right there he looks that one in nicely they convert on third down as he gets it to the 46 yd line first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning he's looking to throw it they bringing heat and it goes through his hands oh he had an explosive play right there for the taking but couldn't reel it in5 they want to just keep throwing it grab behind the line it's McBride they could have used a little bit more there pick up of three it's third and seven they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on the move he fires and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game first down for this offense on the option he'll pitch it hard running there he showed off the stiff arm but apparently he needed a couple of more lot of Defenders around to stop him after the three yd pickup they come to the line second and seven the give is to Williams he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three great job by that Defender I mean he timed that snap count perfectly got into the back field and created the negative play they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here goes to the option he'll pitch it and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed you know talking to the coaches coming into the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day he didn't make it they'll have to give up the football and hope is still alive I know some teams have an aversion to pting is sort of the new wave of football but giving the other team this kind of chance and he's got it in the end zone for a touchdown it won't matter much in the outome with little extra stat pading is nice and a nice touchdown continuing to fight continuing to play this one it's pretty much over down multiple possessions this late in the football game it would take a miracle but nice job by this offense continuing to fight push the ball down the field make plays and now the offense will come onto the field again time is short defense still has three timeouts but mountain in front of them Jesse Yeah the worst case scenario now for this offense is Victory formation Victory formation Victory formation oh he's going to try to hit him deep it's complete a huge pickup the offense uses a timeout 20 ticks remaining they don't seem
