the Broncos will kick it away to start looking for an alley from inside his own 10 nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 so Utah's offense will take the first swing of the game and as we watch this wide receiver come onto the field when you have a dude like this you find ways to get him the ball over and over again no matter what the defense tries to take away yeah because the defense can't win whether you double team them we're still going to win and they're going to give them the ball in quick passes they're going to throw it deep and they're going to take advantage of him every opportunity they can they will feed him they will feature him because he's just that good I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting him down there but they got to do a great job gang tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs fires to the big fella they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down so they're facing third and short from the 25 they'll try to power their way ahead and he needed one yard and he didn't get it the defense won the battle up front the yous will send out the punt unit first time we've seen their punt team this afternoon and make the Stop and that is exactly what you want out of your punt cover unit the Broncos offense will have its first possession of the game one thing to watch can this guy get in the quarterback's head and make him take a peek at the rush David dang Skippy that's what you want to do you want to make this guy a little bit more human and not as much of a game breaker at the quarterback spot get some pressure on and hit him a few times he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country but he can't hurt you if he's laying on his back and this defensive end can put him there often quarterback will Audible and I don't think they got it snaap before the play clock ran out [Applause] game the delay of game pushes the offense back the offense lining up for a first down play Terri ter timber timber 29 to throw it's Nelson gets it out quickly and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game early in the game I love getting my quarterback in a rhythm easy pitching catch you've thrown him 4,000 times not big shots but just put you in nice positions on the next Downs coming up on the ground it's Riley you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains moving they'll try to get the first through the air throws to the wide out intercepted just a small return but a big play as they have it now at the 45 looking for a productive play on first down linebackers trying to create some confusion and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down wide outs all wated up in a bunch they'll leave it with him he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three a third and long coming up here they try to pop a run on the draw running with power and they'll Pat the kicker on the tail and tell him to go give it a shot he says he's got a big leg he's going to have to show it from 56 yds out from 56 yds out what a power leg never a doubt about that one so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do and they desperately wanted to attempt a return but decided not to instead they'll take the touch back boy he State ready to send out that offense boy they hope this next Drive is more productive after throwing a pick last time Jesse Yeah and the coaches did a good job on the oh look out he's R out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and now a fresh set of downs for this offense he wants to throw blasted as he lets it go hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance looking for a man it's Nelson he makes the connection a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior the Broncos come to the line in the hurry up on Third and long he has to throw for it let's it Fly oh kinds of room to throw that one in there and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play I know it's early in the game but defensively after that play you know you have to tackle the catch when this guy gets the ball in his hands he is so dangerous after and he tries to get away but he cannot he's taken down he'll lose a couple and for quarterbacks throwing the ball down this close to the goal line because there's so many bodies in such a small space often times routes take a little bit longer to develop and it forces quarterbacks to have to hold on to it a little bit longer that's the risking danger with throwing the ball so close to the goal line you might get S receivers telling the quarterback what they see looking for the touchdown on Third and goal and the pressure gets there and down he goes at the 18 so they aren't concerned about trying to tie the game they'll leave the offense on the field and try to take the lead on fourth down makes the catch he gets it in touchdown Bo State really nice job working the route getting himself open and he was able to locate the football snag it out of the air and this guy now has five receiving touchdowns on the year almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside the and here he comes nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack man how comforting is it to know that even if your offense stalls out a little Jesse that field goal kicker can knock it in from a long way out well he's one of the best in the country Reese no doubt but this offense would like him and prefer for him to kick an extra point on this drive and to do that David they've got to have more Rhythm on offense yeah create some more Rhythm create some more explosive plays and maybe some more balance and listen it's nice to have that weapon and kick long field goals you kick too many field goals you don't get very many W's it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line quick pass on the jet motion and you want to talk about gang tackling everybody on the defense run to the ball tried to pound it on first down now back to the line easy he's going to pass on second down gets it out fast and he was able to get away from one tackle but plenty of help was on the way decent pick up on that play they'll try to drive ahead on Third and short he's got enough to move the chains and they'll spot it at the 47 and the youths are moving quickly down the field out of the gun they give to the back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well we know this offense obviously really struggled their last time out and they knew coming into this one they would have to be better at running the football and that just has not happened in this game they're simply not physical enough offensively at this point and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop they've been able to control the ball this is the seventh play of the drive it's third and three they'll try to move the chains on the ground third down conversions are huge and they've got one and they're at the 35 the youths have it with a first and 10 Red Pass it's complete it's really easy to say the word RPO and say I'm going to run them but you got to make those decisions and you got to make them fast you can't get confused by all the craziness that's going on by all the guys moving around or talking nice job by the quarterback staying in the moment seeing it throwing the slant making sure he makes the right decision they probably feel good about their field goal chances from the 29 but they' love to convert this third and short just feeds the running back and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down and the you look to do some damage in the red zone defense trying to keep this offense from getting a line on who to block and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made going to work on second down in the red zone and still some ground to cover to pick up that first down that one did not go well tackled in the back field for a loss of six now facing a third and long he'll do it himself he's all the way down to the three showed it all on that run you know you don't need to be an absolute Blazer to have success running the football as a QB just need to know where to pick your spots finding holes reading blocks falling forward this quarterback does all quarterback on the keeper he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a lot Los of three after getting nothing done on first down second and goal from the six they move the tight end all over they'll Run play action a little floater there that falls incomplete this is one of those momentum turning points that this defense can force a field goal attempt that is a victory for them into the end zone and and it's caught touchdown Utah and it's so underrated the the relationship between a QB and a wide receiver the timing the ability to know where he's going to be and be accurate with the football that's what leads to nice touchdowns Jesse well the chemistry between these two guys has to be great when you're throwing into the end zone because coverage is going to be tight the throw might not be perfect but this is something these two guys have been repping in practice over and over and over and it's paying dividends now on game on first first down here comes this offense he's going to pass buying some tie hit hard just as he released it on first down and just couldn't get it to the receiver after the incompletion it's second and 10 from their own 25 back to throw it's Nelson and he was drilled just as he released the pass it's incomplete and the Broncos want to crank the tempo trying to move the sticks on third down through the air saw spot in the middle love to see these third down conversions on offense and they're out to their own 39 yd line wants to throw on first down makes his connection they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here guys that's the end of the quarter and Utah has the lead here and we've come to the end of the first as we take a moment to check out the stat so far out of the gun the inside hand off looking for a crease draged down to the turf but not before getting the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark you know runs like this often times times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't not Cree for a fumble it'll be third down pressure coming and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete oh you know what time it is when the defense gets that stop on third down fist up in the air nice job getting to the quarterback putting some pressure on him hitting him forcing the incompletion fourth down baby desperately wanted to convert on fourth down but couldn't do it wasting no time throwing on this drive got it in the middle it's Kendricks they make the stop right there good pickup it's still short of the first down trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down the give to the back runs through a tackle and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs he'll keep it himself not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven when with the running game on first down now Back at It Easy Go they'll run it out of the shotgun can't get him to the ground smacks it with the stiff arm he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down the yous are marching down the field DB's right up on the receivers they're in the red zone and they'll pass pass it and it's picked off at the goal line that's one way to make a stop and the offense makes the tackle in frustration after the interception Drive comes up empty and it's a turnover they'll come out on this drive and let it rip they working that left side and good coverage by the defense just a short game the Broncos are in the hurry up that's a good job by the drag route there understanding it Zone coverage so instead of continuing to run across the field he settles down into an open spot making it easy for his quarterback and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the positive game I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down second and short now after that completion off the play fake On The Run fires down field and the pass is intercepted he would have loved to make the big return there but he still gives his team the ball at the 37 Utah has it back and the offense coming onto the field that last possession a prime example Jesse of how things get condensed in the Red Zone hard to throw when the windows are smaller and that's what happens down near the goal line David this quarterback here just take accountability and ownership and come out here lead your offense and move on like we need needed points that's something that we can harp on we'll watch the tape this week but now it's time to move on let's get another drive going and the running game is collaps so far on this drive and now it's third down he's looking downfield to throw and he was hit just as he was releasing the pass and it falls to the ground incomplete so they're going to send out the field goal unit to try a long one no good but there is a flag down and he might get another shot at this one personal foul the kicker you must protect the kicker when he's in a defenseless position like that that penalty is going to give the offense a first down wide receiver shows motion comes out throwing on first down got his man quickly he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down and the youths are threatening in the Red Zone pre snap Motion in the back field he wants to throw here on second down got it behind the line it's Mitchell and they wrap him up but not before he's got enough for the first down the UTS come to the line with a fresh set of downs look for space it's Mitchell he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple going to work in the Red Zone they can't pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone linebacker shuffling around trying to keep the quarterback from getting a read trying playaction trying to get to it and they knocked him down almost immediately and we might as well State the obvious first and second down didn't work out third and four very long gives it to the back on the draw and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down and it looks as if they're going to try a field goal splits the uprights right down the middle after putting up a three spot the kickoff unit set to go let's see if he can make a play on the return not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 boisey state has it back ready to go to work on offense one of the most valuable things a quarterback can have David shortterm memory just for and the heat will get home and the quarterback goes down at the 17 these guys are bringing serious heat they are like sharks swarming in just getting after the passer firing to the right complete oh that move is going to leave them dizzy he threw that one with some serious Heat this senior quarterback doesn't need a lot of space to get it in there getting some heat and he was hit just as he falls to the turf second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning he's got it down the middle and he's able to shed one tackle and gets a pretty good pickup they've got it at the 41 third and short trying to keep the chains moving oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down he'll try to throw and pick up up the first down got it past the marker and they finally get him to the ground an easy conversion for this offense defense not exactly the perfect fourth down call there they've got it at the 37 it's first and 10 fires to the big fella they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down back to the air one more time looking down the middle it's caught downfield and the defense was right there to make the tackle but not before they get it to the 12 and set up in the Red Zone he'll come out throwing on first down quickly complete they go up top to get it down to the 5 yd line as they try to pay off this drive operating in the Red Zone here on second down [Applause] this time they'll go to the running game couldn't quite nudge it in not sure you could get much closer but it'll be first and goal clog stops momentarily for the first down they'll hurry to the line they'll try to power it in into to the end zone he goes touchdown BSU the best running backs are the guys that can just sniff out the endzone that running back showed you all of his freakish ability on that play and the extra point gives them the lead at 1413 they got the late touchdown on the board now about to kick it away and hoping the defense can keep them from answering on the run from inside his own five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 the Utah offense returns ready to go back on the attack they'll throw it on first down finds the tight end there's a timeout called as this offense TR to find a way to draw a little closer I don't know who on defense is going to cover this guy honestly he could be a problem for this defense over the middle of the field in the [Applause] passing quick completion on the out he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down a new set of downs after the completion he's looking to throw it fires to the right it's caught we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break and the youths have it with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air and they got him for the sack the offense waste no time getting the timeout call that's the last thing you want as an offense a negative play a sack on first down quickly out to the tight end and he laid the lumber to stop him from getting the first first down I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County they're going to run it and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop timeout is called and it's the defense wanting to make sure that everyone's on the same page for this big down that thing was down for a while but the big bounce carried it into the end zone and it'll be a Touchback running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break he'll start this drive firing they get to him as he throws oh what a grab by the defense and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception now with just a few seconds left not enough time to run another play but there is time to kick a field goal and take the lead we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays smashes it between the uprights and guys after the field goal now they have the lead after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to go I know they're trailing going into the locker room here at halftime but kicking that field goal gives them a little bit of a jolt a little bit bit of a boost of momentum that they can carry with them into the second half and there's a lot of football left to go here I can't wait to see what happens and the Broncos will try to kick this one deep to get things underway in the second half nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin maybe adjustments or attitude or attitude adjustments they've got to find a way to run the ball at least some here in the second half I do think you said something that's important I I think running the football is an attitude like it starts with the offensive lineman and being physical having a nasty attitude running back same thing I think they need more of that in the second half you know and I think then if you're this defense you have an opportunity to make a statement here yeah I know you guys went in at halftime and you riled yourselves up and you told yourself that you think you can run the ball on us on this very first drive we're going to prove to you just like in the first 30 minutes you cannot man sticking to the run I tell you what a lot teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell wants to throw on second down snags it over the middle there to make the tackle but the big throw is good enough to give them a first down the Broncos moving quickly to the line that big pick up on what they call the drag route but if you hit it on time you can hit the turbo boost and you've got to be accurate on the throw too Reese nice job by the QB there putting it out in front of his receiver to make an easy catch and then advaning and offensively I love running these drag routes I mean these are the routes that whether it's Zone whether it's man they so successful it's just about seeing what the defense is doing and getting it to him in open space nice job the wide receiver has some space after the catch able to go make extra yards nice pitch and catch and he was just a couple of steps away away from taking that one even further after the catch and the Broncos have it in scoring position on first and goal he'll try to get it in with the Run Relentless tough running gets it down to the four now it's second and goal re snap motion quarterback trying to get a read quick pass on the Fly motion touchdown Broncos and that one will put him up here in the second half lining up to tack one more onto that lead and with the extra point they're on top by five let's go to the studio now and check in flew down with some bad intentions they'll knock him down after a 6yd gain to the 27 it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push and just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it they'll go to the air grab near the sticks it's Kendricks it's a fumble on the play and the defense got it and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for itso excellent field position here for the offense able to SC three yds out of that one somehow it's second and seven quarterback by himself in the back field the receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment on second down he's looking downfield good timing on the quick out finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down clock kicks under the the 4minute Mark here in the third quarter in the red area it's Riley not much working there it'll be second and nine went to the running game on first down now here they come again 29 on second down they'll take to the air safe completion on the screen they'll get him stopped just short of the end zone but they're in business here with a first down the Broncos have their offense in high gear try to barge their way in and he takes it in for the score touchdown Bronco another rushing touchdown that's now two on the game this offense thought they could come into this one running the ball being the more physical team and they look like it right now and after the extra point they're on top by 12 lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive he'll bring it out it's Alexander I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 Utah has it back and the offense coming onto the field that last fumble proved to be costly as they cashed it in for a touch down yeah and so this defense now is Juiced they're excited and ready to go so this offense David they've got to to get something going yeah those turnovers can be contagious man it gets you excited and then when your offense takes it down the field and does something with it this offense better be ready to play against a motivated defense the big pickup on first down leaves them with second and one relo the running back has it and the defense holds firm no pick up at all on that play and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions on Third and short they'll try to pick it up on the ground here and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage the yous send out the punt unit and the returner is stopped boy he State ready to send out that offense and David how they would love to stick it in the end zone one more time after that last drive and once you get the defense on their heels and you back them off a little bit you get in a little bit of Rhythm it's really hard to stop Jesse and they're going to try to do it again right here and if you're this play caller you're loving what's happening right now because everything you dialed up on that last Drive ended up working out you're just looking at your play sheet everything you're picking is working let's see if they can pull it off again here and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there he's got such good awareness in the pocket he does a good job of feeling the rush and you know it's a pass and you want to keep your eyes down field but he sees an opening if he sees an opening he's got the ability to go get it and get a first down Ed the play fake now to throw can't make the connection the pressure there caused to miss timing hey when you speed quarterbacks up like this and you hurry their thought process they're going to make mistakes that was a mistake there throwing into double coverage obviously not something you want to do could have been worse nice job by the defense now second and 10 get it out on the screen still running at the 40 they finally get him stopped but what a good job by that front ball to set up the screen and create some lanes for their running back and the Broncos getting set on First and 10 he wants to throw got away from trouble and got rid of it fires to the tight end and that was some kind of collision between a couple of big bodies there and he stopped from getting the first down on second down wants to throw it he just missed the Target on that one got to put it on his body they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it and it's incomplete despite some serious arm strength shown there and on fourth down here comes the field goal unit he's going to reach for a long one a 52 yd attempt and the kicker delivers the three to salvage that drive and now the lead is even bigger so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it away on the move from inside is five nice job by the kickoff team everybody
