that you you put it on cruise control you check a lot of the things that make you happy as a Tigers fan and I will I will level with everyone our internet was playing us a few tricks on us um as we are getting ready for the show tonight so if something happens do not panic stay calm cool collect cool Cal collected there we go and we will work through it but we're good right now and we will ride this high of a nice 13 to4 win and I'll start from the back and work towards the beginning of the Innings um or the beginning Innings because I'm not going to lie even though the game was Out Of Reach I love seeing guys make a meaningful at bat late in the game not take at bats off don't give them away you never know how many you're guaranteed and so to see the guys coming through with um home runs in the ninth inning that was fun and I was catching Dan Dickerson on the call um sometimes I enjoy the radio call as well and nothing against the TV call it's it's in so enjoyable to see the excitement even late in a game like that when you see Colt Keith homering to center field I mean a 409 foot bomb to make it 114 and then Zach mckinstry and I know it's become a bit on this show Zach mckinstry what he's there's no space for him on a big league roster and I I agree with that in fact I was playing golf with some guys today and talking all about the Tigers up and down RMA what do you think about this REO what do you think about that get Zack mckinstry out of the lineup and I know people think it and uh you know that being said the guy's up there late in the game and goes yard um a home run for him his sixth of the year but let's walk through this one and and I should have and I've buried the lead my goodness Derek scoel wasn't his best night no only five innings but he didn't have to be amazing tonight because the tigers offense was so good but it still is his 15th win of the season that's the most in Major League Baseball as he cruises to that Sai Young for the 2024 season you can basically give him the award already knock on wood fingers crossed but uh you know what I mean there so all right Tigers offense the bats come alive they were really really impressive tonight a lot of really good things we got a ton of people that want to weigh in that want to comment on tonight's game and I appreciate that the other thing I'll say credit to the Tigers for not playing down to their competition the white socks are who they are um again Q the Dennis Green May rest in peace the Dennis Green legendary press conference when he said they are who we thought they were they are who we thought they were the white socks are just an atro baseball team I mean the when the Tigers beat them tomorrow that will be 100 losses and yes I did say when 100 losses and it going on August 25 August 25th the white socks are 31 and 99 right now 18 and 46 at home I mean it's just it's egregious I mean someone and I I those that don't know a lot of people do I I say it often I I did my masters at Northwestern spent a few years in Chicago covered um a few socks games and Jerry rinor the the owner I mean there's a lot of things going wrong in Chicago not our problem we've got our own problems to deal with but this is egregious I mean you feel bad for the fans of that organization and everything that they've been through I mean 99 losses on August 24th sometimes we feel sorry for ourselves but hey at least we're not the Chicago White Socks my goodness but running through the scoring in this one again when you're playing a bad team you've got your Ace on the mound you just go out win and that's exactly what the Tigers did tonight a run in the first play uh first inning with that um Andy AB single to left to score veering good game for him as well um he had the Homer as well in the uh third inning the Tigers put together three four run Innings tonight A four-run inning in the third a four-run inning in the fourth and a four-run inning in the ninth and that's what good ball teams do when they're playing an inferior opponent when you have the matchup Advantage as well on the mound with your Ace going it's just you simply had to have it tonight and you love seeing the Tigers go out and do exactly what they were supposed to but that third inning you get the verling Home Run and then you continue to put the pressure on the opposition that culminates with a Colt Keith ground out an RBI ground out to score a banz and then Jake Rogers big night for him uh two more doubles he had the double on the uh to left in the top of the third that scored Riley green um and then Parker Parker Meadow single to Center to score Jake Rogers you just kept passing the Baton and I know that's such a baseball cliche of oh just pass it to the next guy pass it to the next guy but Tigers did a great job of that tonight you got to give them credit and then as you Cruise along you know this is where I'm watching in the bottom of the third and you just think this is this is not TK sco's best stuff you know this is not his best night again he didn't have to be his best um the Tigers did a good job of going out and getting uh him the lead and you know he gave up the three runs all in the bottom of the Third but at the end of the day he's a sa young caliber pitcher for a reason the rest of the the rest of the night his five innings the White Soxs could not touch him and again only five innings um 88 pitches you know he's not going to be stretched out especially when you have the offense pouring it on like they were and four more in the top of the fourth to kind of open it up you'll love to see it from Riley green um and again this was a a result of putting the pressure on the opposition so it's the um Riley green ground into the fielders Choice that's going to score kler um and um you look at Tolson getting the single there as well Rogers you know big again a big night for him three hits and uh let me make sure I Ted his RBI correctly as well but Jake Rogers yeah three RBI three hit you know you love to see that from and they talked about a little bit on the uh broadcast that his offensive Pro production has been down a little bit this year so good to see him get uh some numbers back up tonight it's only one game one of 162 but hey it's a victory for the Detroit Tigers against an inferior opponent MLB leading 15th win for TK scoel something you love to see if you're a Detroit Tigers fan so lots of comments to get into I know I went the entire opening without getting to the comments doesn't mean I don't love you guys we're going to get to the comments we are going to discuss what this Tigers team needs to do to stay on the gas moving forward because it's a four game series against the Southsiders so it's it's only the job's not done as the great late great Kobe Bryant would say that famous uh sound B job's not done job's not done you got two more games uh with the Chicago White Socks a four game sweep would be here we are a week later both teams win I know it's preseason for the Lions but we can get used to more of these double header wins that's for sure Merry time Adam checking in glad to hear it and I appreciate that nice win TX Goble is looking a bit shaky but he's human he's allowed to make mistakes exactly it wasn't his best outing but still gets that 15th win shout out to the offense there zmac even contributed hopefully we can cruise to the sweep yeah yeah yeah yeah I mentioned mckinstry and again I I root for the guy I don't think he's part of the long-term future by any means but again we will take it all right Jason Walter I smell 500 yeah we can get there by the end of this series with the Chicago White Sox two more against the white socks and I see no reason why they can't get to although now that I say that is going to be kind of interesting um if the Tigers win their next two games there's 66 and 66 hopefully nobody's uh you know into that superstitious stuff but I think 66 is not six that's a lot of sixes 66 66 and 66 that's a lot to say as well all right Gareth ridings this was a fantastic game for every player absolutely I was going to do studs and Duds just kind of scoble tied Verlander for most wins not this year Verlander's been uh I had the wins pulled up to ensure maybe yeah so Seth Lugo has 14 uh Chris Sale with 14 scoel now with 15 and Carlos rodon with 14 from the Yankees as well so now that scoo has 15 that's the most in um oh for for the most win since a Tiger pitcher my bad that's my bad I get it now I I that's on me okay okay all right um robertt young says we got to watch you twice today that's right double header two wins for the Tigers and Mary time Adams is excited to get Maz and maybe Olson back soon Bullpen is probably gas yeah I hope didn't have his very best stuff but if you take a little bit of a deeper dive you know the eight hits three earned runs and five innings of work not like him eight strikeouts through five innings is very very good did not walk a batter um but as far as his efficiency 88 pitches 60 of them for strikes as far as the first pitch strikes in the batters that he faced 14 first pitch strikes out of the 22 batters he faced now it wasn't dominant but again it's Terk scoel and it's the worst te in baseball on the other side the Chicago White Socks who are 31 and 99 that is crazy I see a couple of comments looking ahead to who the Tigers might be pitching tomorrow I really have no idea um and as you get close I mean I should be better about putting everything I have into trying to figure out who their pitcher might be but I just I don't think I don't see the value in me trying to guess and predict what AJ hinch is going to be doing Jonathan Cannon will go for the white socks tomorrow he's two and seven 4.26 erra 59 strikeouts on the year and there's just no reason the Tigers just can't go win another ball game and again start stock piling those victories as uh the season continues and it's an evaluation period how many times have we said that we've said that over and over and over guys are being evaluated as they should be and you know what nights like tonight it it shows a lot of really good things um good things from a lot of guys on this team a lot of boxes check but you also have to take it with a grain of salt in some sense because don't forget it's the Chicago White Socks still quite a bit with you know being in late August but the Cardinals a game under 5 are just five and a half back and the Giants and Mets um Mets five games over 500 they're the first team out of the wild card but in the AL yeah it's um tigers are nine games back and I mean that's has teams like the Rays who sold at the dead line ahead of them the Mariners who just fired their manager I mean the Mariners have just gagged this alss away it's insane the way they let that get away with the Astros just running away with that division now and who knows maybe the Mariners will be able to uh write the ship and and find a way but I just I don't see that happening I think the AL Wild Card will come down to obviously right now it's the Orioles Royals and twins with the Red Sox on the outside looking in and after that it's the Mariners but there's a three- game difference between the Red Sox and Mariners so I just don't see Seattle challenging Boston for that final wild spot it'll be fun to see Boston Kansas City and Minnesota really duke it out for those last two wild card spots but that's going to do it for me tonight as always appreciate everybody tuning in after a Detroit Tigers
