Wordle, Connections, Mini Crossword & Strands - August 30

Wordle what's up word nerds my name is Kenny hope you're all feeling good today it is Friday August 30th in this video I'll be playing World Connections the mini crossw word and strands let's go and get started as always leave a comment let me know how you guys did on these games and leave a like on the video uh today for wle the uh randomizer gave me the word basil which I didn't even realize was a word but I I guess it is and apparently it's on like W's answer list so uh let's go and put in basil see if gets me anything basil gets me an A and that's it so all right got to remember we used two A's already so the a is not second or fourth so I guess let's put it in the middle um what about crane let's go with crane it's not correct okay we got the N well we got three letters we got the A and the E and we know there's an n in here um um so I'm going to put the N second so there's no s so it's not like I don't know snare um or snake um so it's not going to start with a uh there's not two A's um it could start with a vowel like an e e and a I don't know if there is a word with an E it could be o or I at the beginning innate innate yeah there we go there we go is it innate it's not how you spell that that's not how you spell that okay never mind uh in in an O un no on doesn't look right in okay on o n a is anage a word no idea inate has two NS okay H all right it doesn't have to be a vowel I just thought that a vowel would really work well maybe it does have to be an an owl a vowel wonder if anybody's ever created an owl character that's like called the vowel owl that's probably a thing like if I Googled it there would probably be like an image of like an owl holding up some letters or something I bet it's there I'll look it up later um okay anyway GN could just start with the letter n and maybe I'm just but if it starts with N it just seems like unlikely KNN KNN Nave I think this is a word right I don't even know what it means that's the answer okay what is this again oh my gosh I forget what this is k n a v e a dishonest or unscrupulous man so it's like a person I can't believe that was the answer CU it says here on on Google the dictionary thing that it was an archaic word okay which is interesting that they labeled it like that um okay I'm typing in vowel owl it's absolutely a thing absolutely oh my gosh this is really weird yeah okay um what was the word that I wasn't I thinking of well obviously innate I know that has uh two n's um but anage is that a word I don't know okay anyway uh I might be missing something that I wanted to look up I said a bunch of things there but okay I'm surprised to get this one in three I thought there would be a lot more options here maybe there were let's check out Squirtle I don't really check out Squirtle a whole lot um you know in these daily uh daily videos but today feels like a day where I want to look at Squirtle so let's do that basil Crane and Nave basil this is such a weird solve weird set of words for me crane was a great guess crane has like always been one of the top starting words Nave yeah there wasn't yeah there wasn't any uh any great words here okay um I guess if you don't know the word Nave you might really be struggling today so yeah um let me know if you are familiar with this word uh or if it didn't come to you if it was tough uh definitely curious to know what your thoughts are on this uh so with that being said we can go ahead and move on to connections so let's go ahead and go over there all right here we go connections Connections Friday August 30th let's get started see what words we have today we have gold Cube Temple fence machine box okay so like we got like Cube pyramid like 3D shapes essentially just of diamond I was thinking like a diamond like a 2d shape but I guess the diamond it's not necessarily a shape I mean I guess is diamond a shape that's like 3D like you have diamonds but are they aren't they like different shapes you like diamond and gold pyramid and Temple kind of go together maybe maybe not I don't know what sequin means I I'm familiar with having heard the word before but I don't know what it is is it like uh I don't even know if I want to guess yeah I don't know I don't know huh gold glitter Diamond are these uh like I I was thinking glitter being like what' you call it shiny sparkly something like that maybe shiny so maybe gold diamond and glitter are like shiny things any of these other things shiny lighthouses shine light I don't know if that works though is this something that's shiny I don't know what this word is sequin I can't think a guess and see if that's what it is yeah that is what it is okay sparkling things okay yeah sparkling makes sense okay I was wondering if that is what sequin was or whatever you however you pronounce it so okay well there's that ice cube ice cream wait a minute this this actually would work ice ice box ice machine don't aren't couldn't you put ice in front of all these ice storm are ice storms really a thing though I don't know if ice storm is a thing it sounds like it sounds like it's a thing ice storm but maybe it's not okay ice machine yeah ice box Ice Cube ice cream are definitely a thing I think ice machine is definitely a thing so let's put this in but I might be it might be ice storm okay so let's take out ice machine and put in storm no let's put in let's take out box and put in storm there we go ice box is a thing isn't it right okay I'm pretty sure ice box is a thing I could be wrong maybe not yeah maybe not um Temple Lighthouse pyramid uh Gardens or like fence I have two guesses I could like try Gardens and I could try fence Gardens makes sense I don't know what Gardens is I I don't know what any of these would be like I can't see a category here like dive box or fence or row or Gardens H so I was thinking these just in terms of like structures man okay I don't know I really don't know a row a row a box maybe a pyramid for like ways to like diag Rams to show information you put them in a row you put them in a box you put them in a pyramid that doesn't make any sense maybe it does but that doesn't there's not another word there um okay I need to think I don't know if I can get this TI well I guess I got a guess Temple Lighthouse pyramid they just feel like they fit together cuz they're structures uh and then I guess like fence Gardens like what do I put in fence Gardens oh Wonders of the World okay all right sure and then dive box fence and row I have no idea these are like sports or like Olympics maybe yeah Olympics events man I wish I would have saw the Olympics events thing if I if I would have connected those things to activities I would have gotten it before I got the wonders of the world one ah I didn't get that I did not understand okay was not thinking about box as in boxing that is for sure yeah or fence as in fencing man okay that was tough I'm glad to get the ice one at least this one was just a tough one for me um I didn't realize that Gardens were I I mean I didn't realize that these were Wonders of the World to be honest like I just that's just not a category that I'm that I think about as being a thing that exists ever so I just it wasn't even on my radar uh obviously I'm familiar with the concept of Wonders of the World but if you ask me name name five things that would be considered wonders of the world I would not have any idea of what to even give you as a as a single one maybe pyramid okay yeah sure but like I don't know what else I would do Gardens just no that would not have come up and yeah I was not sure what they were going for for that category but definitely seemed like Lighthouse pyramid and Temple belonged in there and Gardens just is like is that like a word that like is there does this refer to something specific or Gardens I got to look this up Gardens in terms of wonder of the world like I just I I don't know this isn't really helping me hanging gardens is with coming up is that what it's referring to like I just I don't I don't get it okay sure anyway um there's connection tough for me let me know how you did let's go to move on we got um we got the mini next so we'll go ahead and jump over Mini Crossword there all right here we go time for the mini crossw word let's go and get started see if I can solve it today one across bicycle part that's also a past tense verb spoke probably at no time never it's just like riding a bike for one an idiom m o Kio no is it like addage kegs oops poetic before that's always what they use e r e i don't even is it pronounced air or ear actually I don't know uh they're typically two or three on mini golf courses uh probably pars what is this ovary the Y I think and then pedal and then what is this snaps fly there we go exactly one minute there you go guys all right one minute nothing to really talk about there it's all pretty straightforward um I I don't know the difference between an idiom or an adage I just don't know the definitions of them but I know that they're like along the same lines of things I guess so um okay there we go quick mini we did it now we can move on let's check out strands final game of the day all right Strands here we go strands August 30th let's get started see what the theme is today we got let's play so some sort of game here we go we got games here [Music] um so we got games what kind of games probably not nude games probably not nude games but we'll put it in no okay it's not we'll put in nude to get our little hint um something games something games video games there we go took me second to see that oh i v i put invite games I forgot the uh games there we go video games Okay I I should I feel like I should be able to get video games we got Fallout we got [Music] uh Uncharted okay what else do we got something craft Maybe Minecraft yeah there we go uh what else there's two more OverWatch maybe yeah looks like it and then Halo okay H they always um the thing about strands is that they always even if um the words that they that are answers even if they refer to something that's like a you know I guess a proper noun or something something specific they always choose words that also are just by themselves like actual English words I guess so I guess maybe pair of words I don't know but like Uncharted is a word by right like Uncharted Fallout Minecraft is that two words technically like obviously the name of the game is not two words right but like do they do two words in strands I guess I don't really pay attention to it or are all the answers single words like word words that are not like don't have like a space in it I guess I don't know OverWatch like that seems like two words but maybe not obviously Halo is a thing um yeah OverWatch can be like a single like I guess compound word or is it just a single word is it not considered a compound what's considered a compound word give me some examples of compound words so I know when to use that word oh my gosh some examples of compound words are like living room hot dog breakfast ice cream but some of those have spaces in them some of them don't interesting uh so I was thinking compound words were like with no spaces but I don't know uh all right just trying to trying to get get my terms right so is mine craft an actual like has an actual meaning Minecraft a warship which lays Naval mines H okay right like a craft a craft right that deals with mines explosive devices okay interesting okay well anyway guys I'm not going to spend any more time looking up stuff uh there was my uh strand solve uh I did pretty well today except for connections I mean technically I got connections by guessing I did not end up using all of my hints but I don't know I kind of felt like it was not a great solve for me did not really know the categories the last two of them just had to guess um well no I got the Olympic events once I narrowed it down to only those last four I did end up saying that it was probably Olympic events but uh okay fine I did fine on connections but it was a little tough today so um let me know what your thoughts were on these games today if you had any trouble with anything um I can imagine a lot of people don't play a lot of video games or aren't really around the Video Game World maybe you haven't heard of
