there and then if I go and I'm like it's just if I catch them just today I got a real shot to make the class I'm right there yeah that that's uh that's a so I'll say this last year here and I can't remember the exact wind speed but I want to say it was over 20 yeah and I went to the lake and I made it out there and back now that's out a Clayton and what huh you them they B good yeah they did so I mean I'll say that like I I feel like if you do make it they bite but maybe they don't I don't know but it was stupid last night I don't back the next next day next three days that samea I had a hun pack yeah R I was hanging on the front seat I'd see one on the scope and just throw my bait anywhere near it and then come and get it yeah instant [Applause] so I don't know man I might I'm going to probably poke out there and just look and see but yeah I don't have any there's nothing I can do I mean there nothing I'm my tournament's over unless I'm at the top 10 I guess it'd be cool yeah top 50 today we made the cut I don't know if you been paying attention but the practice video was awesome tournament video was stressful but awesome at the same time and we're here today on semifinal Saturday what's up Chris Chris jacked up a big bag there crazy bags being dropped now here's the Dilemma okay so I fished the lake my game plan coming into this thing was to make the cut and let's try to win this tournament now I didn't with the limited practice I spent two days on the lake trying to find everything I could to make the cut now the wind's supposed to blow 2530 not sure we can make it to the lake today so I may have to punt and stay back in the river now that's not a bad thing cuz some of the guys leading the tournament right now are catching them in the river you don't have to go to the lake to win the problem is I haven't made a single cast In this River so I don't know even where to start so we're just going to we're just going to fish our gut today we're going to run down the lake we're going to throw a ChatterBait for a minute we're going to look at the map and find some places we're going to drift some deep holes we're going to see what we can come up with we are going to take a peek at the lake just like look and then decide what we want to do but I think logically I think it I think the out so this is day three St Lawrence River unfinished family business guys let's go appreciate all the support moment yeah I'm facing that mystery it's my time to own it can I make history yeah what you going to do what you going to do and it Shining Light down paining attention and the fish got under the boat and I just pulling way too hard to be honest with you I've been on the lake all day and I just usually pull on them a little bit more but that all that extra current got it feels like a big one he's going to jump go rocking ship that's a biging dude just need to get him in the boat probably Landing right here I got one I got one I got one the first fish that I've landed that wasn't in the lake pretty good pretty good one right there buddy this place is special yeah that's a 5 pounder the one over there that we lost was this big so we just need five of these 25 lbs right and that how it works it's a it's a 4 like 12 so he's not quite okay got one let's just do that several more times it's a neat bite it's a good ledge right here I'm just going to go back and forth in this ledge for a little bit I saw a couple more I just didn't get them to bite obviously yeah big another big God it's a giant bro look at the head shakes on this thing look at the head shakes bro unbelievable he's going to jump don't do it he pulled off bro that was a six pounder dude I want to puke right now how do they that I don't know man yeah they are right there [Music] I just picked this little spot right here by the dude that one in there is big God it's a big one let pick this little spot right by the can I see a lot more on the screen need to master open Win earlier this year from Clon Florida Scott M 42 LB Eventing to start the day today unfortunately one short of his limit here today just four fish in semifinal a Saturday but the good news is Tom Martin o is going to the classic his win and the bassm opens 12 lb 14 oz today gives him 54 lb 14 oz that's here for Scott [Applause] [Music] Martin 5414 you're in 40th Place but like I said the good news is you don't you don't have the problem of trying to slide in the classic you did that early this season today was an interesting day it was one of the days probably ever in my career right there was nothing nothing on the line it was like literally I was already in the classic the season's over I was like you know what I'm not going to go to the lake and tear the boat up the boat performed great I I said it yesterday on stage and I'll say it again with this crowd here I run a sker Yamaha package and I tell you the amount of I put 500 miles on my boat in the Lake Running those waves the last couple days and it's performed amazing it's a soft ride it held up well all my equipment the engine is just am I cannot say enough great thing you can't make runs like that unless your equipment is top-notch but you know today St in the river I lost a couple nice fish right off the bat kind of shocked me the first fight I had it jumped 5 ft in the air it was a 5B I was like oh my gosh what just happened you know and ended up losing that one and lost another one about six but had a good time hoping we come back there crowd's amazing and looking forward to next year man I tell it was it was a blessing at the beginning of the year to win that tournament had a rough patch throughout the rest of the elite season but it sure is a blessing to finish off with a good cut here here at H St Lawrence awesome to have you here as always but here all right guys check out the crowd here this is so cool this is what we love about bassm right here all hardcore bassm fans Wasington New York never disappoints uh I tell you what's so cool I'm proud of Chris Johnson you know he had a lot on the line this week he um him Justin Hammer Jacob FS couple of the guys were all within about 15 20 points of each other and I talked to Chris this morning at the gas station and he's like man if I can catch a big bag I think I can lock up with the ear and but he's like man I don't know what to do I'm a little torn you know where to go wind's blowing the whole nine yards he made the right call he's got like 29 lbs of small might even be more might be like 30 it's crazy big bag and I think that locked him up on the of the Year Jacob F didn't catch him quite as good today so it's going to be close but I think he pulled it off what a cool you know that's what I love about this sport is that everything comes down to a decision and one or two fish throughout the whole season where you're down to the race whether it's vacant the classic or winning angle of the year or whatever it may be and Chris pulled it out so that's pretty cool stuff I can't wait to see if he wins us so much on the line just a few Anglers left to weigh in but this one an Elite Series rookie from Illinois Trey McKinny this is for Dakota lithium Rookie of the Year it all comes down to this he needs to finish 23rd place or better 49 lbs 9 oz to add to that 24 lb 2 oz he moves into third place makes the top 10 and Trey McKinny is officially the youngest Dakota lithium Rookie of the Year in bassm history Trey mckin your nakota lithium a rookie of the year 2024 with that we have one angler left away and he is the very first Canadian to ever win a Lead Series event the very first Canadian to ever win an FLW Tour event from Peterboro Ontario Canada Chris Johnson came into this event with a six-point lead on Jacob Fouch at 43 lb 13 O he needs 2315 to get inside the cut 29 lb 5 oz 29 five Chris Johnson Rockets all the way into fourth place at the humberg bass master elite on the St Lawrence River and he is officially the very first Canadian ever to win Progressive BM angler of the Year Oh Canada for the very first time you have a progressive Bass master angler of the year and it belongs to Chris Johnston we started with2 Anglers and now one remains that one is your Progressive Bassmaster angler of the Year Chris Johnson all right how about that he won it he had 29 four or five maybe I'm wrong but I think that's the biggest bag of smallmouth cuz I thought Bryant Smith had it last year with 29 9 to but they didn't say it on stage so I could be wrong but what a massive bag he had a couple 6 and A2 Pounders today that's next level crazy uh this this place is amazing guys I'm going to tell you right now if you want to come up and do some amazing small mou fishing you need to come to St Lawrence so we tried as hard as we could today you know with not making a single cast in The River the entire tournament until today or practice until today I had a shot at a 23 lb bag but it is what it is I'm glad I didn't lose him yesterday cuz I wouldn't have made the cut so we're here we finished off strong we started strong we finished strong we won't talk about the middle the middle was bad middle was pretty much down couple little UPS we pretty much slam to the floor bad we're not going to do that again we're going to approach next year a whole new outlook whole new game plan whole new focus and is that a wrap for the season is that a wrap for the Bassmaster unfinished family business sort of is we have that open left but this is it guys right here so thank
