tough spots I've just been so impressed with when it seems like there's more pressure he's more calm and settles in he's done an incredible job with runners in scoring position and most guys they get a little tight they start to aim the baseball but for some reason he gets looser the ball comes out of his hand with more life and he's able to wiggle off the hook tough situations and get his team back in the Dugout jge Solair up at the plate and here comes got him sing slider got him for strike three anytime you can punch out the top two guys in a lineup to start an inning got to be feeling pretty good out there on the mound because when you think of just having a distraction table Setters on the base paths and all of a sudden you're dealing with a number three hit any distraction can cause you to serve up a cookie and instead of it being a solo shot it's a two or three run Homer here's Marcelo Zuna swing in a Miss nice change [Applause] [Music] up and a pitch and ball got him strikes out the side to begin the game what a start impeccable command in that one three batters three strikeouts that's electric stuff out there on the mound and we're back and on the mound today Chris S well this guy's just been filthy out there on the mound hitters batting under 200 against him and they're just having a hard time squaring up anything doing any type of damage the only way he hurts himself is if he gives up the free passes and surrenders a rare home run but outside of that it's going to be a tough job for the opposing lineup today and now for the twins and well Mar go Mar kicks and fires swing and a miss and that's strike two one and [Applause] two now this is in the air down the line and it hops over the wall for an automatic double the automatic double kind of feels like enjoying cruise control in your car boo you don't need to keep the pedal down as you Cruise in second base just no worries in the world you know what he put a really good swing on that one Ryan Jeffers at the [Applause] plate Runner edges away at second and that one fouled off as a pitcher you know the runner on second is ready to push things with this speed a base hit it's probably going to be a big run so you really have to execute on the mount one two now that one just misses man oh man I don't know how you take that pitch that's as close as it gets got him not what you're looking for after the lead off double a strike out and there's one away thatting third so up next for Minnesota Jose Miranda sail delivers F off foul looked like you got a little excited on that fast ball got to think to yourself want to stay up the middle that way if you're a little bit early you hit it out of the ballpark you're a little late opposite field not just misses there it's a good take on the ground right side tosses to first two [Applause] gone and now we take a peek at the twins line up someone who makes things happen for them in part with his legs Austin Martin well boo there aren't many guys who have a flare for the big moment like he does I mean batting over 400 with runners in scoring position are you kidding me I know it's not guaranteed or an automatic but I hope we get to see him in a close late game situation with runners in scoring position and just see is is he truly a machine or not throw on to Olen inning over first frame of the night behind us and it's nothing nothing all set for the start of the inning and now it's Atlanta's cleanup hitter Matt Olen bounce to Santana steps on first for the out well he's doing a nice job of keeping the ball out of the air lets the defense work behind it with another ground ball good execution lauriano comes up the hit on the ground and it goes just foul second inning here no score swings and misses to [Applause] down here's the center fielder Michael Harris on the ground to short Castro tosses to First and it's a one two three inning and the Braves go down quietly we'll go to the bottom of the second no score and welcome back to the ball this is Willie Castro short will Castro [Applause] hmer and this one could be extra bases now he'll turn for second and he's there with a lead off double well they call that an advantage count for a reason you're so much more likely to get something you can handle anytime you rip a line drive the other way you feel really good about what you did at the plate you trusted your hands you let the ball travel and you took the barrel straight to it that's great work right there runner in scoring position now and a good opportunity to push across the first run of the ball missing inside Joe McDonald our umpire behind the dish yeah boo Joey Mack sometimes a little tough to figure out we may see some hitters and pitchers asking him where a pitch was here and there but most of the time he keeps it reasonable Runner takes off pushing for a strike throw to Third and that will end the inning when you get thrown out at third with two outs you kind of want to keep on running not a great decision there as it ends the inning back at Target Field well here we go top of the third scoreless game here's Orlando [Applause] Aria that's towards [Applause] Center Martin makes the catch and there's one [Applause] gone batting the catcher Shawn here Shawn Murphy mph Murphy this is a guy who is very highly regarded defensively fun to watch him control stuff behind the plate Good Game caller good at framing but it's that big arm that really stands out and that's off the Inside Edge and a count two and one top of the third no score hard grounder into the outfield for a knock so man aboard now with one away everything came together for him really nice job staying up the Middle with his approach he didn't try to do too much with the pitch just shot it through the infield now in for the Braves Luke Williams out front for strike two one ball two strike with the goahead run at first we're here in the top half of inning number [Applause] three that one lift it to left Mar go settles under it calls it in and there's two [Applause] away the batter number 50 second BAS with so the batting order turns over now the leadoff spot for the Braves Whit marfield that's a little bit low and [Applause] Jorge Solair on deck for Atlanta Murphy off of first with two [Applause] away and ball for two board maybe a little L of focus on the mound right there pretty much gifted in first base with a quick free pass so two down and the batter now Jorge Solair here's a one-1 wouldn't chase that time tough spot right here couple Runners on two ball count you can't nibble but you have to execute and finish your pitch if you leave something out over the plate it's going to bring in some runs and the righty deals turned on but foul wide of third [Applause] here's a two- two on the ground to third base hit into the Outfield around third he will score and the Braves Take the Lead one nothing there a perfect example right there that plate discipline it pays off the deeper he gets into account the more comfortable he becomes and he usually wins the battle and next is the designated hitter Marcelo Zuna and that's outside [Applause] two balls at a strike Here Comes smoked on struggle we saw the numbers coming into the ball game all he's trying to do at this point is help his team win [Applause] so now to the plate for Atlanta Orlando Aria 1-1 now tapped at the plate but it's a foul ball man on second two down swings and misses it's a strikeout couldn't catch up to the heater a double in the inning but they even stranded on now to the bottom of the fourth it's the that play won't be trending on social media later on but it's still important to execute it to Perfection this game is a lot harder than it looks Barker Jose Miranda the next twin up to hit one down base is empty pulled down the line this one hammer but it's foul C hoping he could get a swing and Miss on that but doesn't fool the hit that break ball nice job just couldn't keep it fair in the air right field Solair getting an angle on it no trouble here puts it away for the out and there's two down the first and now it's the switch hitter Carlo Santana holding on to a one-run lead we're here the catcher Shan Murphy kick andal and now one and two he's pitching well but not throwing a ton of first pitch strikes usually doesn't work out for success but he can never predict [Applause] baseball and that's a little bit High two and two really good take especially with two strikes that one off the mark and that's ball three the only adjustment he needs to make is his Target if you aim at the outside corner that slider's going to end up way off the plate perhaps look a little more down the middle and you get it right where you want down on strikes picks up strike out number seven and next for Atlanta Luke Williams Luke Williams and a pitch swing and a ball lifted left field Margo sizes this one up squeezes it and there're two down the batter number 15 second so the lineup flips over Whit marfield up to the plate two down nobody on and we're at the top of the fif fights that one away still one and two and a nice inning of work there as he sets him down one two three so they make short work of them there last half of the fifth coming up it's the Braves one and the twins nothing we head to the bottom of the fifth and now for the twins Willie [Applause] Castro swing in the Miss struck him out and the lead off hitter retired in the F really love the pitch sequence right there I'm telling you what pitcher and catcher on the same page right now [Applause] Christian Vasquez The Hitter the Lefty ready and a one-1 swing in a Miss as he was out front one two trying to close out a one-run lead and the home team trying to pull it out and down on strike strikes he goes and there's two away Kyle farmer the next to hit second timing issues can snowball quickly and that's what we're witnessing here this lineup's inability to lock on to the pitcher delivery is causing a few awkward swings looking sharp just to strike away from five shut out Innings sail is just one strike away got him and that's the ball game well this one was all about the pitching and defense outstanding job of the pitchers really attacking hitters trusting what the catcher was putting down and trusting the player standing behind him to make the plays defensively sometimes you want to see a highs scoring game but sometimes you can appreciate the artistic beauty of what these pitchers did on the mound today one nothing the final for Chris Singleton and our entire crew I'm John shy
