hello everybody and welcome on back to baseball here on youtube.com/ shaur TR my name is Sean and even though we're leading this series two to nothing over the Oakland Athletics yesterday's game got a bit funky we had a three nothing lead that turned into a three-run lead or a 3-1 lead then turned into a 3-3 timee with a really bad slider that got crushed out of the zone or out of the ballpark it was either a slider or a slurve either way it was a bad pitch they tied the game uh and it uh it went into extras we were able to win in the 10th but not the way that we wanted to finish up that game especially with how strongly we started we're going to hopefully bounce back from that and be a more consistent team today we have Luis Castillo on the bump 22-1 with a 095 ER taking on Ross strippling 5 and 15 with a 5117 erra as we jump into game number two or three excuse me of this four game set final time will be in the coliseum in all likelihood they're moving all that stuff it's overcast we have Luis Castillo and we finally have a right-handed pitcher which means we have kind of our more traditional lineup where we have palano in the three we have Crawford we have looks like Rodriguez is all the way down in the six spot you know what we're actually going to go ahead and put in CL here um he's real quick but he doesn't have great power so we're going to put him at the bottom of the lineup we can also swap in Marlo for Hanah and we can maybe kind of divide that up a little bit and then let's see who we have here Roos Crawford palano not a lot of speed at the top of the lineup there if I leave it like that then we have reallyy Marlo do we just do we dare go yeah because that's third base no [Music] H we could probably get palano a day off tomorrow who's our DH from Roos actually we can can flip that oops I guess I'm kind of in the wrong camera May nope and it's in the wrong thing because I used it okay so I don't know how I feel about Roos at the top of the lineup but we have Crawford palano Raleigh Ry France Aras Marlo and cl um I think you know what I think we'll go ahead and leave it like that I actually kind of like the double rties here and we shouldn't be afraid to swap things around should we need to I think putting uh leaving class in that uh that bottom spot will be helpful because we could bring Rodriguez in Palanka might need a day the Seattle Mariners going up against the Oakland Athletics we are 111 and2 which is great they are 44 and 95 coming at you right after theak just about set to go and towing the slap Ross stripping and singy it's Unique these days but he's more of a pitch to contact type of guy game number 104 strike out he knows he needs to miss barrels get some soft contact let the defense do work and I think a guy like that don't to ad or they move and you lookity sler at 89 four seam at 95 Circle change 88 at 126 curve at 78 and a sinker at 93 pitch little surprised that was for stri line drive right just under it a little on the later sign so it's sliced opposite not a great start we we had some of that problem the other day as well is yeah Bo he just hasn't been himself at all lately I mean it's hard to know if it's mechanical if it's mental it's just a struggle all the way around it's something that everybody goes through I think the key is you've got to stick to the process you got to focus on every pitch and don't worry about the result take it one pitch at a time one at bat at a time that's as well makes the grab and there are two outs two outs base is empty and up next for Seattle PGE palano that one and that is ball one bad bad thir we uh thankfully we got the check swing and early on that 126 count two and one and here it comes and that one fouled off and the righty deals that one ripped and there'll get down in front of him it's a good piece of contact there I thought it was going to be another out I don't think we can clinch the AL West with a win that's just not true not getting the results he's wanted at the plate recently only two hits over the last not going to do a whole lot with that no problemy and slid bad swing I think it was actually a check swing I think they called that a strike way to foul it off felt like a little bit of a gamble to go with the full swing there two outs count one and two okay they foul it off stay alive leads off first with two down to the Inn on the ground that's a little unfortunate that's out number okay so the slow start today um not terrible contact though that hit with Ry wasn't great but with uh Urus and Crawford not terrible and we're back our starting pitcher in this one Luis Castile comes into this start sporting a lifetime ra just over three he's been pretty great for most of his big league career can't wait to watch him in this one and here is Hern her and a pitch oh boy lagged a little bit stri just because Ops was lagging the other day or glitching or having a hard time running does it mean that you need to console that one finds its way through so Runner a board to start the inning teams against me have been hitting those gaps and now let's see if they force some action with good Wheels on the bases runner at first with no outs here and a swinging a Miss there this guy's got such a good Sinker as a hitter you've got to look up in the zone if you look down you're going to R takes off Pitch misses inside got time you see what happens when I can hear the stuff in my ears sure thing even with Big Time speed it's not easy to catch him but that was a great catch and throw quick not rushed and accurate and a swinging a miss two B two strik here's the swing at a drive left fi and he knew wow that was a bad fast ball okay well hey at least we caught the wow that is just such a bad that is an unbelievable [Music] that was blasted absolutely no doubt off theat knew what pitch heed to hit spit on some other pitches in this at bat was very patient and it paid off digging in Zack gell strike one this is a hitter who takes his game to another level playing at night swings through that one for strike two no ball two stri the line in the pitch swings through it and that's a strike out man I I can't believe how bad that pitch Wason I pulled it awfully and it was gone extra bases and that rolls into the corner around first heading for two not in time it's a double waste no time there he smashed that ball the other way and kept it fair down the third Baseline did an excellent job of just throwing the barrel at the ball even though he was a little late on it stepping in Seth Brown man on second two now F back our way and that's out of play O and two now good job control right there okay so we give up the uh the monster shot it's only his third of the Season he does have great power but it doesn't matter when we're absolutely board leaving it over the heart of the plate let's see what we can do here uh we've given up three hits already that's not good and now luky he set a new career high in home runs this and sing he's just trying to set the bar as high as possible now you know why stripping has such a high arm slot well he broke his leg in high school and couldn't play infield so he was forced to adjust his throwing motion because of the cast on his leg he changed his position and he never looked back well the last 10 games or so have been anything but fun at the plate for him so that one has to feel good when you can turn the ball around at 107 off theat it's going to make you feel really good inside a little bit more it's definitely out of here and now they've got some speed on first so we'll see if they try to get him into motion the one a little out too aggressive that 126 me some trouble that pitch down in the zone so perhaps he'll come back to it still try to get that ground ball double play a leading by a run here at the top of the second going to take on the slider there and now two and two that's inside so here we go b r at first could be running on the pitch he's got good enough speed to steal the bag to get in scoring position even if it's a swing and Miss at the plate in the air left field Brown drifts towards it and I wanted a contact swing foul ball there but said he caught off caught it to 126 Curve Way Up In the Zone if he does that he's going to be able to go up the middle the other way with some Authority instead of a fly to left that one the other way and that's a fair ball round second on his way to third lead Runner hold to third so two Runners position job that's what we're looking for extra base hits keep us out of the double play to keep it from slicing foul one thing that was great about the approach his head was down all the way through the pitch and that's how you do it second and third one gone now it's the right fielder Cade Marlo line drive that's a base hit one runs in the throw in it's offline and he scores hey let's go that's what we're looking for Marlo just a nice little piece of contact there into the left field and good aggression I saw that time I at least I saw him Jonathan getting ready to hit looking for his first big league hit right here that's out to center field oh darn I saw the third base coach waving him around so I I went ahead and sent him that's just that's just tough luck right there D and he can't hang on First and be safe safe didn't think he was going to get there JP Crawford gets a chance to hit fly to left his first time for a strike hard grounder into the out for a knock around third the throw in that was closer than I anticipated I was cheering a little bit too soon there that's what we're looking for two out damage let's go good job by Urus or roas excuse me to get uh hustle up the first base line hit he already singled in this too aggressive on that swung over the top of it two outs couple of base runners at first and second and that drops in for a strike that's irritating and a pitch and the slider just misses it's a good take and another ball lock in here and now it's three and two good there absolutely got me with that too convinced by the call out there on the mound as he tries to get a better sense of the Umpire Strike Zone good play appearance there able to take the walk so definitely should have been an out and I will take the walk we bring up Cal righ shoulder right there I'll tell you right now I couldn't have done it righ in the Box lays off for ball one all loaded up danger at the nice 12 six curve we are not seeing that pitch well here the pitch misses away situations like these the air can get really thin up there at the plate got to find a way to breathe and slow everything down two outs that was too aggressive on that swing damn it I'm still late on it oh [Applause] gross in the air left side in position squeezes it lad on the slider third RS for here and hey we took that one run that we gave up we got it back and a couple more that is what we are looking for so the kind of those are some nice response settings no long balls everything double welome back to the ball and now it's going to be Jordan okay that one Cates excuse me let's dial it in here on the ground right side that's what're looking for France takes it to the bag and quickly away in the second Lawrence Butler digs in now collected three hits in the loss yesterday believe he had the two-run blast yesterday and first off ring is fouled off the pitch Joe McDonald doing the home play duties here well Joe is an interesting one I'm always trying fig what was a dangerous pitch probably didn't look like it because it was pretty high in the zone but that that caught more plate than I would have wanted we continue to [Music] struggle well against Butler I would guess he didn't have a whole lot going on in that first game but last couple have not been easy with him there's strike it was three for four yesterday now one for one right through there for a strike cold night like tonight last thing you want to do as a hitter is get jammed or even off the end trying to find that sweet spot on the bat tell you what you're going to be trying to catch things out front so off speed pitches may be a good compliment to that fast swing and a high fly ball left where's that going where's that goings I was trying to move the thumb and it just didn't doesn't once it gets to a certain point it just the animation takes over and that's not good and now the right fielder he's been tearing it up at the plate recently can make it a five game hitting streak with a knock in this one Butler the runner at first with two gone bounce to the right side throws first I don't know why France didn't run toward first place the a that was a very stressful third out otherwise it's two on two out those are the kinds of those are the pieces of contact that we're looking for well dribblers up the lines that we can get to I did not love that animation 235 tra [Applause] be nuts with how good he [Music] is at the Ty France right through there for a strike swung on beled way back there goodbye okay I didn't think that was going to get out I thought that was going to stay in the park double maybe1 getting knocked around by the Rangers tighter that one was a hanger and pitchers typically some of those hanging breaking balls here's l low ball one that's down and in stripping maybe a little less aggressive on the mound right now after that home run Chris yeah it seems that way you know pitchers they can come out feel good but then all of a sudden get touched up a little bit and they start trying to throw instead of pitch they're not trusting their stuff very early on that that was the pitch I was looking for on the last one I was still I think late on the mound to maybe refocus him a bit well partner every pitcher is a little different I I lik it it to you sometimes you come in and you're not as focused and I kind of do what it takes to get you on track and then you have a great show so perhaps it's the same nobody really wants sometimes they need a little pick me up do think draw a couple of not great swings in the mix I think that if they gave the pitcher a false scouting report on me yes I think I could draw a one swing and that ball smashed on line damn it Noble here it away damn it just couldn't quite get to it that felt like it just a touch more to the inside we're probably able to get that to be a double one run across in the frame so far we're here in the top half of inning number three and that's in for a strike well Chris through the early stages he hasn't been very efficient in terms of the pitch count he's going to need to get some quick outs if he's going to get deeper into this game knocks that one away and we'll do it again it is interesting though when you can consider the way the game is run now doesn't even matter that much if your starter doesn't go that deep because teams are really aggressively building their I am far too susceptible to those at times in the dirt and that's ball two two balls two strikes wouldn't chase that time great RBI spot here just got to stay focused on the pitch the runner will be in motion so something in the Gap should definitely score it I'll take that I'll take that little foul okayy wa he saw a lot of pites and earned a walk not what he wanted to do right there that keeps this inning alive puts a runner in scoring position and a chance for this offense to add on to their leaded in the air out to left that's oh that's just so bad that's such a bad that but the solo shot stretches there lead further it's now a 4-1 ball game it's Major League Baseball on the show as we go to the last of the Third digging in for Oakland Daryl Hern that's we've gotten into a pretty decent flow we've gotten a few runs off of this uh this starter but we have driven his pitch count up and probably should have done more damage so that starts to become the question of can we keep that up against a reliever uh my gut says no being honest the why to kick the pitch in the air out to Center a great command today here's theer he's already homered here in this one right through there for a strike now a drag B Third Base side and it goes just foul this is a good third basem to Bunch against Moore has just Mo has a bit more speed that front foot down there we go it's a beautiful slider Castillo oh shoot we got to pay attention to a strikeout it's only a third strike out of the day we need about eight now it's the second G struck out swinging his first time fast for try and clip 300 on the season fast right back to the inent of time to First is a bit of a slow start obviously it's not a big deal he's trying to keep piling up WIS and stuff like that but at least he gives us something to go for I kind of out about it though which is a little silly same pitcher is in what I am curious about is there Bullpen Martinez we probably won't see okay they have a lot of they got a lot of arms off the fourth JP Crawford Stripling back to work for a strike F Well these Mariners showing great displ at the plate and patience definitely seems to be the name of their game in this one they've wored three walks already so that proves they're not anxious up there they're stick that is good contact what a sound coming off that bat bur out the Le off next is the DH a switch hitter porge palano that one close rule the ball ball one the corner for a strike one out base is empty this one high in the air to left Center as this one sized up and there's two now two out Bas is empty Cal Raleigh will hit next up the middle goodness gracious up CLE Sean and he's going to make first and we'll see how they score it that's definitely an error yeah so it's he's over for eight in this series whichs these are not the kinds of innings we want offensively again what did I just say get it together we have driven up his pitch count he has no energy left kicks andand deals that's a slider for a strike two outs stays alive fights that one away and the count remains o and two and that's good take that's the first ball of the ad bad God we are only in the top of the fourth there's something about playing Oakland that just feels so slow and the right deals on the ground G that's a well placed SL we weren't looking that far in Seattle this was I think this this was a problem in the last series I think or maybe it was uh in yesterday's game but recently we've had it where like we've gotten gotten a pitch count pretty high just let him stick around right through there for a strike that one misses and that's ball one the pitch good job to fight that one off foul ball still a one and two count misses it's a strike there's our fourth halfway there I think there's one game we can afford to get seven saw you off tell you what hitters have nightmares about that pitch perfectly executed out there on the m brown stands in now and watches strike one next offering is fou back some real good life going through the Zone on that one one down base is empty struck him out there we go now we're dialing it dialing it in a little bit now the third baseman Jordan Diaz close but I'm surprised we didn't get the call on that swing and a ball hammered left field back there and it's gone what the [ __ ] he made him pay for that one and they close the gap it's 42 things feel that bad and I don't think it was that bad I mean it wasn't great but man that is that's the second one we've given up to a low power hitter for their like third home run of the season and it's for a hit so a two outs the Inn alive okay and just when I thought we were going to start getting out of this pretty easily it's Butler and Butler is okay why was that so far in what the [ __ ] rander kick steals oh he doesn't get the call and the count one and [Music] one shot missed butler off of first with two away breaking ball in there for a strike I'm scared to throw that fast ball high and tight oh he doesn't get the call and the count is fil 32 two out run on first [Music] ofoc so we do double our uh strike out count but it got a little weird it's 42 you're watching Major League Bas over better swing than a pitch I mean it's just it's confusing okay so they are going to bring up a left-handed pitcher hereit want to at all for 95 a circle change 82 cut at 93 and a curve ball at 78 there did go low on a fast ball all right what do we what do we want to do here we have a ton of lefties in the lineup it's only the top of the fifth we are up we're up two I don't know that we need to make any like imp know we need to make a ton of moves at the moment and another ball re ball no strike there's a strike looks like that him and although it's a mistake it works out really good for the pitcher the hitters timed it up expects it to be to a certain spot and it just doesn't get there the out okay that's an unfortunate turn way late on that fast ball Lu ready to hit and it's foul away one down base is empty fast ball for a strike and that's outside that one miss come on Brandon doov goes five for five and a loss to the Brewers on the ground to the left that was a sends it across the first and they get the out Harris is giving us some trouble here now the rightel Cade Marlo one for two go we do have them up to 12 pitches two down nobody on and we're at the top of the fif the bit behind with that swing it's strike way too late looking curve ball or Circle change slightly slightly in the Z and it's two and one at least it was in the zone five straight fast ball or four straight fast balls and the pitch not even close there and that's ball three there's you can deal with that get a walk and you get a walk get a walk and up next for Seattle Jonathan CL swinging and a miss and it's one really really God damn it and strike two that was a curveball what the [ __ ] swing in a sorry those were three pretty good pitches I can't believe we saw 47 [ __ ] fast balls and then he just slowed it down we're going to need to drive this pitch count up or make some changes in our lineup try and figure this out cuz it's it's not going to get any easier for us we have a bunch of lefties cple God bit today the line of the pitch CAU him looking for the K wow that's a tough so that puts us at 268 strikeouts on the season which means his last from those things and really try to exploit them if they can her in the now no BS our last four outs have been strikeouts through three we had three strikeouts he's controlling things out there on the not messing around at all he's been in attack mode since the very start kicks and fires on the ground right side Roa well he'll at least break up the strikeouts for the Inn Ming quick he almost got on base spe speed and a slow roller that misses the Z that's one that'll do the trade for him last season next offering is in for a strike swing and a miss and he got what he wants to do significant difference between the circle change and the for seam and then that curveball is outside Circle change all the way down at 79 here's swing cut at 92 two that's just an awful swing hit okay hey rip it through he was all over that one there's nothing cheap about the way he got that one through the infield that was ripped cut out didn't like he would have lik but defitely put a good swing on don't swing at thats swinging at it and that one in the air center field and that'll fall for a base hit lead run little bit of damage that's why that four lefties in a row is bral Swing we don't see a whole lot of that these days with HS trying to launch and hit home runs but sometimes you got to shorten up just like that and now Lukey for the check swingy that's sorry that it was even question at first two out of the innase that cutter highb ex and finish your pitch if you leave something out over the pl it's going to bring in some runs we got to be in three take mode here got a couple of right-handed hitters we got to try and drive that freaking pitch count up left out ofch Runners at first and third we were too late on it uh not the worst swing in the world it's an awful swing not the worst for a strike we were there we were just [Applause] bad swing and a got him to go up the 3 count and we strike out Lefty Lefty is just might be a little too uh might be overthinking it a little bit [ __ ] me that is just awful we are just too late on that he is throwing so many slow ass [ __ ] pitches up there those fast balls look faster than they are that is a goddamn strike what the [ __ ] and a swing a ball to this guy sink has so much drop at it it's almost like a split finger fast inste every like 10 or 15 pitches we're just throwing one over the pl like what the hell inning Ryan Nota up next for the [Applause] A's popped up left side under this one pulls it down and he makes the catch and there's one down here's the left fielder Seth Brown Line and that's a base hit lead Runner makes third a little frustrated that we can't get some of these out that's a really good sinker [ __ ] off where are e in there for a strike and one and one at the dish looking to lift the ball in the air in this spot anything but the ining double play Swing and a miss as he was out front ground ball left that was the pitch that was the pitch that we needed to not be awful and it was awful we're not throwing that [ __ ] fast now this is in the air down the line under it brings it in runner tags for home he'll score on the sack fly and they Trail by one cannot figure this team out just missed two outs thought off foul righty to the plate swing and a miss struck him out finally get Butler down that is they get a r it's just not good though they are we are allowing them to slowly chip themselves back into this game it's [ __ ] four to three we've given up eight hits to this team come on okay so we we get a right-handed pitcher well one run game and here's the first Sinker at 100 force at 100 Circle change at 90 slider at 89 splitter at 93 missed thir really of course it was a circle change that checks out all of that makes sense huh what a surprise can't figure out the [ __ ] Circle change now Lu ious [ __ ] [ __ ] that one missed Bas is empty one away here in the top half of inning number seven check swing he went too far and it's a strike it's a circle change again you could throw Circle changes all day it's the only pitch I would ever see and I would swing it every [ __ ] one of them close one doesn't get the call now two balls in a strike fouled off he was late yeah we have been late on the fast balls it's only going to get worse let's bring in a bring in a new pitcher should probably bring in Brash maybe we'll warm up a couple of righties will make a decision game [Applause] time I don't understand how we just fall the [ __ ] apart it doesn't make any sense I think he threw three straight fast balls I was laid on every single one of them when they've got him up against the ropes got to figure out a way to put him away did a nice job right there is outside and it's a ball on a strike swing and a miss and that's strike two two and now before the one two time is at the goddamn Circle change every [ __ ] time SW godamn it [ __ ] God damn it it wasn't even [ __ ] close and you know that [ __ ] just came in and threw three strikeouts you thre two you through two we didn't strike out once catch number 4 against their starting pitcher and we have struck up five times for a strike it's one that's a strike he's got ahead with two pitches down in the zone he has plenty of options right here he can go up he can go away slider got him for strike three [ __ ] frustrated with myself in that [ __ ] like that sucks dude the of an important like this but you got the lead off hitter so critical in setting the table when you got a tight game like this so a strike out really puts them on their [Applause] heels swinging it's a strike out the string of the change up he came out of his mechanics there typically likes to shoot the ball the other way but that time little anxious now here's the leadoff hitter for the A's Daryl Hern sh missed next offering is down low bounce to the right on to France and it's a one two three inning dicer than I would have liked a couple more strikeouts are helpful that gets us to 271 on the season so 29 29 strikeouts in his remaining four games as not a strikey toak so the question now is going to start to become we're going to go ahead and we're going to put in Brash just just for safety it's not that I have anything against zavon Curry but um center fielder the Lefty pitcher so command and execution are huge for him back to the of I might not switch out everybody but I do want to at least try to balance this a little bit better think at 95 a slider 88 and a circle change 89 pitchly unfortunate there's why is that slider so far up the line Ro up next for the Mariners and that one hit first two pitches two outs can we [ __ ] slow down at all that's his okay only his second best Pi for the Mariners there's the Sinker at the knees for a strike action in the pen down there Zack Jackson up and throwing swing and that's ripped towards right cately that's an out no trouble here it away for the out blinket you'll miss a top of the eighth inning and we will uh we will indeed bring in our I guess our steadier arm our higher rated arm [ __ ] God in the defense jul Rodriguez trying to give him some time off but no I put four [ __ ] lefties in and they just went oh we'll just go ahead and put in Lefty pitches you clearly can't handle that I think I made a good decision though as far as um uh [ __ ] what is happening there it is that was the best looking pitch and it was in the worst location I do think that it was it was okay to go around the go through at least once go through that um that lineup there's the word I'm looking for go through the lineup at least once and then if they brought in a left-handed pitcher and the game got kind of tight like it or tighter like it did then I think we start to Tinker with things a little bit pull some guys and now and here comes that's in there one one no need to offer at that pitch until you get to two strikes it's just a low percentage of success when you try really would like to be more consistent with the the pitching the tying on [ __ ] off God damn it it's 100% And it's just swing a highly right fi line hey that's a nice effort out there Marlo that is so [ __ ] ready to get it in the goddamn Zone [Music] [Applause] man Fu Brash at first here's the second yell swing to the right [Music] velocity got good pitch inside the zone and trust it righty delivers right side hard hit to Crawford for one return throw gets him at first it's a three [ __ ] monster double play wasn't the quickest turn in the world but Brash does a great job recovering or covering France does a great job stopping it that is what we are looking for Ryan that one fouled off where was that s a little earlier [Music] on they two outs ler frustrating I know we doubled up on it but I wonder if that pitch just wasn't in as good a spot nice line drive to P side met it out front but just stay through it nice enough and ripped it into the Outfield now it's going to be Seth Brown and that one fouled off trying to hold a one-run lead here the bottom half of the eighth [Applause] inning left batters the not sure why this gave me Crawford why did that give me Crawford we have Julio [ __ ] Rodriguez holy [ __ ] that is so godamn annoying it's a great play by Crawford it's a great play by Crawford we're happy with it incredible effort you love to see it but why did it not give me Julio Rodriguez we saw we saw four pitches from him back to work late on and that's just foul Alexander in his 34y got a couple of the same types of games here against the Athletics we're able to get some runs early but once they start bringing in these relievers we really struggle to adjust I think some of these relievers are really bad that's a terrible location for a slider Jesus Christ [ __ ] would I look in that part of the zone for a [ __ ] slider love it s a foul straight back one it is I thing too where you look at it and you go like well I mean it's a bad location but it's working against you at the belt and fires gets a and it stays oops one down base is empty just misses the mark outside the Zone he missed the Zone but I don't think he missed his spot that was a good pitch with two strikes and now two and two he really tightening little surprised we it two down Full Count crowd locked in right now one run game here in the ninth in the air center field makes the catch and there's two down so up next Lukey not looking like they'll be adding any insurance runs heading to the bottom of the ninth so it's going to be on the bullpen to hold this lead left hand hitter Waits swing and a miss way too late two down nobody on here the top of the it's not even that fast it just comparatively is the m not unfortunately out just late again we just I cannot figure it out that time 678 scheduled to start the bottom of the night it's the Mariners four and the A's three Butler might be an interesting intentional walk situation um I'm not the most worried about Diaz he's been terrific defensively he have the home run in this game not to like discredit him or anything but Butler is given us a ton of trouble there's also a lefty and we're back here's the third basem Jordan Diaz Jordan Diaz has knocked in two runs no ball one and there's the strike to the right side Ro Hawks and the lead off man retired here in the nin that's a huge defensive play in the late stages of the game it might not be the most challenging we've seen today but it needed to be made that's helping your team Butler in the do we want to do with Butler we want to pitch him carefully we probably want to avoid void the four seam swing a little surprised that we've been able to get the better of him the last couple of that bats the last couple of games at one point he was like five for six outside ball [Applause] W love to see those pitches both of those pitch just split the difference two down nobody and the count one and two the A's down to their final strike there we go and that's it they are Champs of the American League West oh are we really I thought the elimination game number was five what just happened so the good thing they'll be able to rest some players if you've got some players banged up they'll be able to bounce back the challenging is keeping everybody sharp and freshh for playoff baseball and the final score here 43 I don't I don't love the way that these last couple of games have played out they've both been 43 wins we've gotten saves with Muno that's great that's fine we're playing well in tight contest we're getting some key defensive plays here and there couple bad home runs given up today uh by Castillo but I don't love that we are we're getting to their starters but we're doing nothing against the rest of their staff it's just it just sucks like it's just not it's not good you know H it's a it's a concern this is a team I mean we're a team we have2 wins 111 wins something like that uh and then I just look at it and I go like I don't know I don't know that I'm playing well enough or consistently enough to make a deep playoff run like the AL is going to the AL is going to be a big pain the only team I feel somewhat confident against is the Angels but like Baltimore [ __ ] Houston like gross it's not what I want to deal with Minnesota they're always a thorn in my ass but player of the game is Andres Muno kind of surprisingly one inning pitch no hits two strikeouts no walks no earned he picks up his 53rd save of the Season Ross strippling gets the lost four Innings pitched seven hits no strikeouts three walks four earned on his line Castillo gave up three earned in seven Innings he had eight hits he did strike out 10 gave up eight hits had 10 strikeouts no walks on his line and then you have Ty France one for four with that solo home run Aras was one for three with a double he came around to score Kade Marlo was one for three with a uh with two ribbies and a run that was very helpful in that three run second I forgot we actually we fell down one nothing oh what this a weird game Palanka was two for four uh walk and a strikeout and ahead of the Astros and that is all we needed we just needed to win usually when it says that it it has like more more to it but uh Astros Ranger Astros Rangers Angels the rise the game out and the Yankees have taken a tumble with a L4 they are four and a half back Guardians eight and a half back so you're probably going to see four of the five AL West teams into the playoffs but it could shift there in that bottom portion depending on how the Rays do I think the rays are maybe the only team that we don't play to affect that um we might be done with the angels as well we are indeed done with
