the 19th rank team in the land the Kansas state wild cats for EA Sports college football I'm Chris Opening Kickoff / 1st Quarter Fowler joined here in the booth by Kirk her street Kirk let's get to the action on the field and the wild cats will kick this away to get us going and here's the return from inside the five and he stopped at the 20 tried to make something happen but that's good coverage there so Arizona's offense comes on the field first today and there comes the start our running back onto the field he is a special talent you talk to opponents he's always the focal point when they face this offense Welly Chris this guy is special it's almost like he floats across the field I mean I don't think anyone can take him down in the open field he's the guy the teams try to ke the field on the drag handoff from the shotgun and they tackle him but not before he picks up the first Sometimes I almost get to throw it's beita here's a shot toward the end zone and he's got it touchdown wild cats looked like a total bust there easy pitch and catch like you'd see in a Tuesday practice Yeah that quarterback's eyes must have lit up on that play because you've got one of your the middle of the field it's caught downfield tackled at the 44 The Backs got it breaks loose at the 45 brought down but the gain moves the ball ALS they'll try the ground game here with the running back gets some space around the 30 an explosive play they finally get him down but the looking for a gap it's giddens defense gets him down but they'll take the gain on that play I still four point type of play touchdown or field goal he's moving out of the pocket now he'll avoid the big hit with the slide these the type of plays that are back breaking gets him right back into to this game and they're trying to punch it in here they'll stop him behind the line looking to pass it's Johnson makes the catch can he get in hash mark So something of a tricky angle and it sails right through the middle of the upright solid kick and that one my gosh I mean that's almost too easy nice kick [Music] some adjustments and stop him this time they stop him after a 6yd game so second and four just love watching this back run gets drops back from the shotgun looking for an open man makes a quick catch he's tackled short of the 30 but that's good enough for a first down a quick throw out left complete heads out of bounds after a solid gain more than enough to pick up motion now from the tight end ball handed off breaks loose at the 40 they get him down but not before he moves offense hurting itself with a penalty first down and 20 off the play fake looking to throw [Applause] and he dumps it off to the tight end a big hit and there's the handoff he's sworn by the defense at 26 y territory but let's see what the call is here off the play fake he'll look to throw it tries to avoid the rush and just gets rid of it down and the coach decides to trot out the field goal team and this one is right through and they add to their lead snap the H the kick everything there perfect to put three points up here for the offense [Music] there to throw the ball and eventually that's going to cost you and he'll drop back here on third down short connection to the tight end here the defense wraps him up quickly well Kirk Arizona has the lead here they jumped out an early lead in that opening period let's take a quick look at the stats so far 2nd Quarter [Applause] out of the shotgun he'll hand it off what down but broke a tackle to produce a solid gain there I'll take that back to pass it's faid and he's got his man open downfield finally brought down to the 13 yd line an enormous gain puts him in great from the shotgun an inside handoff they tackle him behind the line a loss of four way to go to convert this third down dropping back he going to throw for the first down just gives up on the play throws it away let's see what they come up with here on this fourth down play so here on fourth down out comes the field goal team Maxs that one right down the middle and that will extend their lead even further oh Chris it's a nice kick here to polish off that drive with at least three points up on the board [Music] [Music] this is not where you want to be against this defense third and long caught in the back field it's Johnson defense stops him short of the marker so now it's four play action here on first down looking for the wide out looks down field and finds a receiver who worked his way wide open it's a big gain at looking to throw it's faid looks over the middle and that's complete and the defense swarms not much of a bakes the hand off looking to throw lets it Go quickly grab down the middle it's Riley there's the tackle but snapping it from the red zone now looking to throw pass caught can he get in brought down just short of The End Zone on the ground trying to punch it in for the score muscles across the goal line touchdown Arizona and that's another touchdown for this guy this defense better adjust and get eyes into that back field or he may go for a third or a fourth later today [Applause] extra point is good and they stretch the lead a little bit more out on the field they're coming off a quick three and out so looking to put something together on this drive with a little more urgency solid run moves the ball out across the 20 21 that's exactly dropping back we going to throw for the first down and he's going to float this one to the right side and it's incomplete offense back out on the field let's see if he can keep that passing game going the last position very efficient precise they get him down but not before he gets to the Plus off the play fake looking to throw he'll take a deep shot here makes the grab down at the 15 yd line and finally tackle him down at the 2yd line what a play offense moving receivers around now before the snap and he Powers into the end zone touchdown wild cats touchdown Arizona dropping back looking to throw for the first down they trap him and Sack him back with serious momentum they have been tough to stop so far can they keep it going short pass finds the tight end a huge hit by the [Applause] Lineback Q decides to keep it here looks like Arizona will have the first down you know it's not always the the tight end goes in motion before the snap shotgun formation here's an inside give and they'll stop him after a fairly minimal pickup and a player is long way to go to convert this third down out of the shotgun he hands it off he's not going to get the first down it's Fourth Down Drive alive hands it off on the counter he's KN to the incompletion dropping back it's Johnson fires it to the white out he's got a man down the middle and it's a huge chunk looking to throw it on first down he's escaping the pocket now and a senior making you got to think about changing things up the snap count the scheme anything at all to help this offensive line they're overmatched so far in this game but he's hammered by the the lineb the ball around and spread the field making it tougher for this defense close to the tight end can't hold on needing this crucial conversion right now the defense swarms to make a tackle for loss on that third down catch and now the defense assigns half they have to regroup an intermission but in the meantime let's see if they can get some momentum going caught on the outside it's Johnson and the runners they look to throw it here on second down a short completion of the tight end and they gain just a first down play and he'll set up to throw H over the middle it's brown so a timeout is called to half first down they're going to throw the football getting three before halftime and the field goal is good the almost put Connors now has our halftime update all right guys looks like we've got a great scene there today in Manhattan and the story of the half has been that Elite Corner we were told he was tough to throw against he's basically taken away an entire side of the field when he's out there causing turnovers and getting physical how often do we say that about lock down guys and how this offense schemes against him in this second half will fun to watch for now let's get back to the guys in the booth to start up this second 3rd Quarter [Music] half all right let's get the second half going now the KCK exactly what they needed they were held to a quick three and out last time looking to put together a positive drive here first play of the drive looking to throw the football a screen pass complete to the running back and the tackle is made this down the shotgun running play call good enough for first down yardage good for just what a great hand off on a single back formation Chris the defense dials up to Blitz they're unable to get into the back field giving back to pass it's Johnson looking for six looking for the end zone and it's good right down the middle I was watching this guy in pregame he has got a strong leg I'm surprised here he's able to put three points up here for the offense [Music] this offense trying to bounce back the last possession anded in a pick they'll give it to the back we're gaining some breathing room now tackled at the 26 looking downfield it's PA catch made on the right side he's tackled quickly but the guarded for the first down well this [Applause] quarterback quarterback pulls the ball it's a keeper and he's tackled right at the 40 yd line oh the read option here the quarterback keeps it I thought he was going to quarterback looking to connect with the receiver here that one is in third and long to keep this drive going dropping back it's Johnson and he'll just lob this pass into the middle the field the field now they're trying to build on their lead for forced to punt on the last possession they'll bring him down right at the 30yd line and they hand it off to the back that will pick up a first down they spot it at the 38 to the air it's PA it's an out route the catch made right down but crosses Midfield to theous he is after he makes a catch he'll hand it off they stop him after a 6yd gain so second and four they'll run it handed off to the running back they make their stop but not before a solid they'll run it here running back has the ball and that run produces a decent game potential four down territory let's see what the third down call is dropping back it's FID throwing for his running back caught completion they wrap him up but the gain is good important they want to avoid a third and long little eye candy here from the offense some pre- snap motion they'll keep it on the ground running back has the handoff and a decent gain there before the defense brings him down coming here in the Red Zone handing off on the draw play stoer Here Comes the field goal team so from the left hash this is just a Chip Shot the kick is good he knocked it right down the middle and they add to their lead score Kansas n [Music] this group is coming off a quick three and out can they put something together in this drive finds room at the 30 CBE gets down to avoid the big hit and check out how he's been spreading the football around between his targets getting everybody involved in this [Music] 4th Quarter game back at it start the quarter offense getting set to win a first down play to throw it's Johnson looking to set up a screen pass here the tackle is made not the big play they were looking for but a pretty solid quarterback drops back we're going to test the secondary caught over the middle it's brown not much and the quarterback drops back looking for an open man pulls it in it's Johnson to get him down quickly not much of a gain on that it's third down dropping back looking to throw for the first down cannot possessions here the offense will try to convert here on fourth down to throw it's Johnson and he'll lost it to the end zone and it's caught touchdown Kansas State well you can tell that this play caller the offens coordinator he's thinking about the future he wants to see how his quarterback and how this offense wants to compete when this game's out of and it's up and good kick is good down play play here they're going to run it here and they bring him down after a solid gain but it's still well whichever risk you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment the defense stops him off the play fake looking to throw the football looking for the wi out grab down the middle it's Johnson he's brought down but there is a flag on the field let's check out this call the defensive penalty is declined offense very happy to take the result of that play here comes a first down pass attempt and he finds a wide open receiver they forgot about him downfield and short they'll try to throw for it here pressured and Dr for it and he's throwing forward on fourth down and they can't comp from the shotgun hand off inside and he breaks the tackle on the way to a solid game there they'll run it from the gun looks like Arizona will have the first down a new set of downs for this offense and they'll use the ground game here tackled at the 32 that's enough for a line play first down and 10 they'll keep it on the ground trying to run some clock solid gain moves the ball to the 30 and the wi out goes in motion they go with the ground game here running back takes the hand off that gain enough for a fresh set of down spot they're going to run it and they'll stop him short of the line dropping back looking to throw for the first down caught near the sticks
