Intro e welcome folks to Boom picking stadium in Still Water Oklahoma home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys Pistol Pete and the paddle people are ready this is a great environment we're expecting a full house this afternoon we've got an anticipated Clash here as we'll see a squad from the SEC the Arkansas Razorbacks against the 18th ranked team the Oklahoma State Cowboys for EA Sports college football and CH Fowler joined here in the booth by Kirk herb Street Kirk let's get to the action on the [Music] Opening Kickoff / 1st Quarter [Applause] field and the Cowboys will kick this away to get us going and he takes this from inside the five not not much on their return they'll stop him at the 24 good coverage so the Arkansas Razer ma offense going to get the chance to start this game off and here comes that star wide receiver certainly one of the focal points of the offense one of the best in college football he has that kind of yeah I'm him Ora I'm the best player on the field the field but this guy crawled out of the bed thought he was the best he's confident but he carries it as a guide for his down after that run on the previous play and the quarterback keeps it here tackled but only after picking up a fresh set of downs play this off to your offense important second down play coming up and he's back to throw again after that incompletion on first down looks down field and connects with a wide open wide receiver they bring him down but an explosive play by this offense big game nice now a long way to go to convert this third down dropping back they going to throw for the first down quarterback leaves the pocket on the Move now slides down to avoid the tackle well the quarterback knew the one thing he can't do here is take and here comes the field goal and a guy who doesn't believe anybody can beat there this is going to be like a boxing match where it's an allout battle two extremely gifted athletes competing on every snap better get your popcorn if you're a quarterback they bring the blitz he doesn't recognize it ball goes on the ground defense does a great job of picking this thing up that's exactly what they hope for catch the quarterback off guard it works out and gets him a touchdown [Applause] so they'll try to add to the lead now with a p the extra point makes it a 10-point game offense is back out on the field offense moving receivers around now before the snap we start the drive with a quick throw to the left side Runner scoots out of bounds after gaining decent yards love to see the short pass they'll run it out of the shotgun he's tackled short of the 30 but that's good enough for a first down sometimes how aggressive do you get on First and 10 off the play fake looking to throw finds the that big tight end for a short pass and he's shoved out of bounds with the defense short of the first down down now trying to find some room it's Gordon running through the tackle they've got him but not before he makes a there you can bet his teammates and his coaches are very proud of that effort what a heck of a run there for a nice game that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than as the final seconds of this first quarter run out so Arkansas has the lead here let's check out the stats now through the opening 2nd Quarter [Music] period plenty of time for some plot twists here as we begin the second quarter offense getting set second down play here off play action he's looking to throw here's a fumble way behind line of scrimmage no turnover offense recovers the fumble well it's a good job by the defense to force third down and long dropping back it's Bowman fires it to the white out and the pass his drops would have been a big game but he couldn't hold on the previous play play action fake looking to throw and he's got his man open downfield potentially a touchdown saving tackle but not before for a long completion what a huge play on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball quarterback takes off now looking to scramble he'll avoid the big hit with the slide well they did a good it's a draw play a solid 8yd gain brings up a second and two dra down the draw we're going to throw for the first first down looking for the wide out easy throw to a wide open receiver downfield well this is why this guys one of the top wide receivers in college football here's down at the five after the catch the offense really threatening now on her field goal looking to throw it's Bowman he's running out of time here this one sails through the back of the end zone and in two yards out this one is right through and we're all tied up now well they almost put a touchdown on the board but instead they come away with three [Music] points down on the field now the last Drive they give up empty had to kick it away can they come up with something here play action here on first down grab behind the line it's Jackson tackle made but it moves the ball to the 25 as they try to get this drive out of the shotgun he hands it off they bring him down to the 32 yd line car it's theun gain of moving the receiver around free snap a pop pass on the Jet Sweep they bring it down at the 44 that's a solid gain getting closer to Midfield now first down back to pass it's green receiver looks it in it's complete and the defense swarms not much of a gain on that completion this offense off the play fake looking to throw the football looking for his big tight end he's got an open man downfield and it's caught tackle is finally made but an explosive gain they'll move it down to the 12 but two incompletion sets up a third and 10 dropping back we're going to throw for the first down cannot connect incomplete and now fourth down incom he made good on his first attempt this one is from 40 yds away and it's good [Music] that makes the scho orans 13 over home 10 [Music] on the field they want to cut into this lead before halftime they have to work quickly now they'll take a deep shot here that deep shot is caught for a big game touchdown Cowboys this quarterback on fire today looked like a total bust there easy pitch and catch like You' see in a Tuesday practice Yeah that quarterback's eyes must have lit up on that play because you've got one of your players way down down field without any Defender around [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] them and they'll set up for the P for the extra point extra point makes the lead [Applause] four on the field well it's been an entertaining first half not much time remaining to cut into this lead and he finds a wide open receiver they forgot about him downfield and a timeout is called to talk strategy close to the air it's green catch hauled in here over the middle he's brought down quickly a short gain gets them a few yards completion third down out of the shotgun grab down the middle it's sategna offense stops the clock with their second timeout to talk strategy good route to give the quarterback a chance to make that play makes the grab it's Armstrong the offense will quickly spend a timeout here after the play quarterback wants to throw it on second down receiver makes the catch and he's brought down but he does have enough for the first efficient here not much time remaining before the end of the half to throw it's green here comes a deep shot the catch is made for a huge pickup brought down at the three yd line but this offense now has a first down and goal right there looks like the final play of the half coming up M's going to wrap up the first half here let's kick it now to Kevin Connor HALFTIME with our halftime update all right fellas looks like you've had a very enjoyable day there today in still waterer and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a Onan Wrecking Crew the kids been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the Deep ball if this defense wants to actually come back in this one they better hide his cleats I don't know about you but I'm ready to watch this one unfold back to our guys in the 3rd Quarter [Music] booth and the Razer backs will kick this away to get the second half going he's going to return it from near the goal line and he stopped at the 19 good job by the coverage team and the Oklahoma State offense is back out on the field important possession here to begin the third quarter as they try to continue momentum from the first half and build on this lead not much on that play hand off here from the shotgun they'll tackle him at the 27 in the 27 can he get there on the ground stop at the 36 that's good sticks boy Chris you cannot overstate how big of a conversion is picks up a first down and can kind of settle things down a bit using the ground game here tailback has the hand off nice run he's brought down to the [Applause] 44 set it's second down [Applause] down hand off to the single back receiver complete they tackle him but the game moves the the quarterback on these Upcoming plays looking to throw it's Bowman receiver makes the grab and uses his speed to pick up solid yardage one thing we know for sure I don't know in the red area it's Gordon and a spin move there before he's tackled picks up a solid game to play important down here in the Red Zone on the flag is out before the snap the defense may have been a little bit over eager that time defense minor penalty will cost the defense five yards the Cowboys trying to punch it in it's first and goal little eye candy here from the offense some pre- snap motion they're going to run it couldn't quite get there brought down at the two he's taken down see what they can do here third down and goal from the one they'll try to run this one in and he takes it in for the score touchdown Oklahoma State so to reach the End Zone after a marathon March how about the execution in that drive well I know a lot of times people get excited for the big plays they're fun to watch but what's impressive to me is an offense that can put together a long drive and then finally cap it off with a touchdown that way you don't have to always rely the big plays that's a great try and now here comes the point after attempt is on the extra point extra point makes the lead [Applause] 11 for a touch back and the Arkansas offense back down on the field they call the draw play here brought down but broke it tack to produce a solid gain [Applause] there they're going to run it mat gets the carry he stopped just short of that first down marker inches away from it down multiple scores can he make it to the marker brought down at the 33 that's good enough to move the sticks you know even though that these guys are facing a deficit they're not just going all in front of it and knocks away nice job he's back to throw again on second and 10 looking to scramble escapes the pocket play theive it's a third down play here's the snap looking to throw looks down field he connects with a wide open wide receiver and they stoping but not before an explosive Play Moves the ball off ball handed off it'll be taken down but he does have first down yardage nothing better than an offense on first down to be able to pick up big up on First and 10 now snapping it from the red zone now looking to throw what a job to lay out and make the catch they bring him down but the junior quarterback showing off the cannon to throw it's green he's got it near the end zone and he's in touchdown Razorbacks that's a crucial response by this offense but still plenty of work to do here in the third quarter well I love that they're still fighting and competing you can tell they've made some adjustments at half and try to get them back into this game and that score is a great [Music] [Applause] start the coach deciding to go for two here to cut the margin to three points he'll try to muscle toward the end zone on the ground and the defense brings him down now the defense wasn't able to keep these guys out of the end zone and the Oklahoma State offense takes the field they had a brilliant touchdown Drive last time mixing the run in the pass can they keep that going again he's tackled just short of the 20yd line at 19 yd second and medium well hand it off the junior able to bring him down quickly up and now they run the draw play they make the stop just short of the marker it's going to be fourth down and inches 25 y the pun the first time this afternoon and the punt is blocked trying a return here touchdown Arkansas that puts him on top in the second half outstanding job by the special team so often we get caught up in the offense and the defense sometimes you overlook the importance of special teams here's a great reminder a great block picks it up gets to the end zone for a [Music] touchdown coach deciding to keep the offense out there go for a two-point conversion and extend the lead to three looking to pass it's green and he's taken down doesn't get rid of the ball and the two-point conversion does not work whatever risk do you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment tries the right with a quick throw fired into a tight window and picked off touchdown Hogs and the defense joins the party with a pick six how about that one Chris the big man goes up shows his skills to come up with that interception and then the athletic ability to run it back for a touchdown a big guy can move so they'll try to add to the lead now with the p p makes it an eight-point game that makes the score Arkansas 3 Oklahom State 24 here's the kickoff team let's see if they give the returner an opportunity to bring this back returner choosing to field this one oh he's got a crease here look out Charles table to stop it but it's a great return lucky to prevent a touchdown but they get the drive with excellent field position from the shotgun it's a handoff they get him down but that's a solid [Applause] game caught in the back field it's Andrews and he's tackled for a loss after the catch the defense all over that one man put a star next to that play it's like the linebacker knew the ball was going to be going to this receiver so it's the instincts and then it's the awareness and the athletic ability to be able to bring down a wide receiver for a loss like [Applause] that so it's Arkansas in front youve reached the end of three time is running out to cut into the lead let's take a look at the game sets before we move 4th Quarter on we're set now for the fourth quar who is going to make the crucial plays to take home this w and the wi out goes in motion to the air it's Bowman throws to the tight end makes the catch downfield tackle is finally made but it's down to the 28 yd line testing the right side here and they'll tackle him for a loss of five yds like about quick that play is ABS coming up for this offense and they'll keep it on the ground running back has the hand off def gets him down but they'll take the gain on that play but needing this crucial conversion right now drops back needing a third down completion here and he's going to fling it deep going for it all here and it's incomplete so on fourth down it's an all important field goal attemp hold your breath here and the field goal is good good K he good that makes the score Mar [Music] [Applause] [Music] 32 Arkansas offense is back out on the field now first down looking to throw the football from the pocket delivers over the middle and a player is down injured after that last play will take a timeout makeable third down for the offense with a 29 they'll try to move the chains here on the ground moves the ball out across the 30 and that's good for a first down and that's going to be a first down first down on the ground and the Razer backs come to the line to start a fresh set of downs looks right for a quick completion defense surrounds him just a short gain on that compet to make guys miss in the middle of that field scanning the field it's green receiver looks it in it's complete defense reacts quickly a very short gain quarterback keeps the football they stop him with the 47 that's enough for a first down I love the tough offense looking to throw the ball lets it Go quickly and he's got his man open downfield they get him down but not before he moves the football to the 32 defense where he wanted them created an opening in that defense then he made a great throw for that first down and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun finding space at the 20 20 and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs boy I saw clock and add points if they can out of the shotgun he'll hand it off he's tackled down at the four yd line defense getting pushed back that's exactly how you want to start this drive working with a lead in the fourth quarter to throw it's green launching one to the end zone and he's got it down right Razer backs boy what a job by the offensive coordinator going to that five wide receiver set creating the one-on-one matchups finding the most favorable matchup and then going to that receiver for the score [Music] so they'll try to add to the lead now with the p extra point up and good so the lead is 12 here in the fourth quarter coming up there's the snap he's looking to throw let a fly out of the wide outy and he pulls in the catch to get him down but that's a nice play boovs the ball to the 33 looking downfield it's Bowman close to the tight end he's got a man down the middle they bring him down but that's a solid gain on the play hey that's what you're looking for handoff heading left they get him down but the game moves the ball to the 37 the Cowboys have first and 10 here quarterback drops back from the shotgun quick throw to his receiver looks down field and finds a receiver he worked his way wide open tackle made but off the play fake looking to throw on first down fires it to the wide out he's got it right near the end zone hey it's a nice game here they get the first down down to stop the clock but late in the game TR that's a second and goal play for the offense keep it on the ground trying to power in for the touchdown and he runs it in for the score touchdown Cowboys that's a crucial score C makes it a one possession game that makes the stretch run of this very interesting yeah now the pressure turns to their opponent and their offense momentum is starting to tilt and it's your job to go into your four-minute off def but I'd expect this defense to be extra aggressive to try to get this ball [Applause] back here's the point after attempt on for the extra point p is good he still Trail though the Y Line and Razer back's offense is back out on the field suddenly this is a tighter game you'd love to build a drive choose some clock how aggressive will they get with the play calling well how about this aggressive approach by this off for a first down the offense working with a new set of downs here use the running game to chew on this clock now the gain is four so it's second and six yeah I like this call here late in the game like this with the lead back to pass it's green looking for the wide out oh downfield catch made on the left side tackle made quickly but a big chunk Play Shotgun formation here's an inside handoff and that's a solid gain before the defense able to bring him down and now it's the defense that calls time he snap it quarterback looking to throw the ball and he just throws that one away took a big shot but avoids the sack interesting call here Christ the ball on third place kicker in a very big spot here and it sails right through the middle of the upright solid kick that makes the score AR 42 overall 34 [Applause] here after the incompletion on first down looking to throw it again receiver makes the catch they bring him down after a short gain there it's a nice crucial third down looking downfield it's Bowman over the middle and incomplete fourth down now and defensively you know they need to convert he'll drop back he's got it that is enough for a first down and the winner steps out of bounds distance and especially the clock you got to get out of bounds when you can to preserve it they do a really good job of that right here to get him down quickly not much of a gain completion that's back to back big plays and he'll drop back here on third down very nearly intercepted that would have been it they got one final chance here down one possession in the fourth quarter and the offense is going to try to convert here on fourth down looking to throw for the first down lets it Go quickly it's a highlight with diving catch there the offense will here's second down dropping back it's Bowman and this pass is caught and he heads out of bounds after fourth down offense continues the long drive they're going to throw for it on Third and short the pocket breaking down can't get it away the defense has got him what a huge stop at this stage of the game what was the quarterback thinking here there's just absolutely no way you can take a sack in this situation and now it's Fourth
