more importantly a celebration Senior Day the 49ers will put toal and we'll get started and he takes this from inside the five and he CS it up inside the 20 maybe some early game Jitters showing there very fortunate to retain possession on the opening kickoff so the Ford Atlantic out offense will get the first crack at it here and here's the man they rally around and he has earned that type of respect David you dang right you earn it by doing it and he's done it at such a high level everyone believes in this young man in Palmer there's a reason why you're right David he's been in the big moments and he's won the big games this guy delivers when the game is on the line hit the gas kid wide open thee they got him free for a big Gainer down to the 43 how many ways can I get to my guys who can fly who are Playmakers and let them make big plays this is another one you've seen catch the football flip itead really quickly get it to a burner go in full speed across the formation he gets the edge makes the big play got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four the hand off to Johnson they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carrier and a great job by the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes Free Will making the back field for a tackle for L third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw it ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down well that kid just showed off his hammer for a leg 50 plus and he did it with ease coming out with it it's Reynolds pulled down at the 18 and the decision to bring it out of the end zone was not a good one so Charlotte's offense will go to work for the first time here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching this week and we asked them who needs to step up and play while they immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys are the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed gives it to the back on the draw and how about the work up front by that big defensive line and that play had no chance and and you sell pass and you want to sneak the draw in there the ideaa is to get those defensive lineman Palmer running up the field but it's almost like they knew what was coming and they shut that down quick yeah and so you're running the play it's not going to be a great look defensively as a quarterback then you've got to do a real good job of trying to sell pass and I think he just hurried it a little bit too much that play didn't look like it was going to have a chance anyways but the quarterback he's got to be a better actor on those draw makes to grab him the left side and after gobbling up some serious yardage and showing off those Wheels is finally out of bounds and the 49ers want to pick up the [Applause] tempo looking to move it through the air getting some heat hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance line getting set on second down quarterbacks talk about it all the time they love the clean pocket where they can Step Up throw the football that is not what they had nice job by the defense beating the offensive line disrupting the timing and get a nice clean hit on the footb the 49ers looking to take advantage of this Red Zone trip tackle is made after the first down this offense knew coming into this one guys how important it was to start early and on this opening drive for them they're doing a nice job running the football there on third down they're in a position on the field now now if you're on defense you got to be ready for a shot and makes the grab in the end zone touchdown ners lining up for the Pat and the extra point is good and it's a four-point lead so a drive there of 82 yds and they finish it with an 11 yd touchdown Dart [Applause] on the move from inside is five makes a move oh what Vision he's going to get loose he'll take it to the house touchdown out he is a field flipping machine Tak it on one in return it to the other and now you get to celebrate what a beautiful job we always talk about defense we always talk about but man when your special teams come through for you and score it is huge and it provides such a boost for the crowd fielded In The End Zone it's Middleton I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 Charlotte has the ball back the 49ers offense will return to the field boy David they would love to stack another touchdown on top of that last drive and this offense did such a good job in the last Drive everything in Rhythm moved the ball down the field didn't make those mistakes Jesse and they need to do it again on this one yeah you're right they had the defense on their heels you wonder what sort of communication was going on that sideline what sort of changes were they able to make CU they got to stop the leeding that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third [Applause] down it's complete on the right side makes the grab and it's for the first down before he's dragged to the ground and the 49ers come to the line with a fresh set of downs great job by the running back on this play it's a big third down and his ability to catch the ball turn around get North make a guy Miss and go move the sticks awesome individual after and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knockbacks and limiting his carries unloads to the wide out he's got an open man and they'll finally get him down after a terrific pick up the 49ers come to the line in the hurry up and when you get Zone coverage and you're running curls and the wide receiver Sprints off the ball you know what happens that DB starts to bail and that wide receiver comes back and it's easy pitch and catch for the offense picked off bringing it back and they'll drag him down down after a good return on the interception what a play by the safety really good understanding like listen if I'm going to sit back and I'm going to play cover two and I'm a free safety I'm free to go get that thing but I got to see the route I got to see the wide receiver breaking understanding the quarterbacks throwing the football and as soon as that hand separates from the other hand I'm breaking on it does a great job breaking on it and making the catch didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 running back searching for a hole Powers through the defender a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 just a simple power play power football be strong be big be physical make it a fourth quarter game make him feel you keep him off balance linebackers shuffling around trying to keep the quarterback from getting a read and the misconnection on third down FAU will send out the punt team third down and short they choose to pass it they got the whole Playbook open because it's third and short on their own side of the field you could tell the QB wasn't going to make a mistake he did not want to force the ball make a bad decision he throws the football away lives to fight another down oh how did you make that move he just about took that one to the house they finally bring him down but when you have a return like that it pretty much eats up everything gained by the punt they'll try the run they'll pick up four second and Six coming nice you know this is a running back that gets better as the game goes on so they're going to want to make sure they keep feeding him the football let him get lathered up he'll try it again shows him the stiff arm and they'll shove him out of bounds after the short gain really frustrating get a guy in a spot he's in the hole he's down through his job and he can't get the guy on the ground that's your job get him on the ground you know especially a guy that's not a huge back got to make that tackle you can't make it easy on the offense but now they got a manageable situation this would likely be a Chip Shot for the field goal kicker but they want the touchdown inad instead they'll go for it on fourth down finally pulled down but not before moving the change for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs going for six pulls it in in the end zone touchdown 49ers well just as you would expect that didn't take very long it didn't re and you've got to make great field position count when You' got opportunities you got to pay it off and the offense took advantage scoring a touchdown didn't have far to go but they got the points they needed about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown here he comes from inside his own five still on his feet and he did a good job bobbing and weaving and finding a little bit of Running Room on that return the FAU offense will return to the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah David bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive they'll keep it on the ground good pick up on the ground and they'll Mark him down at the 39 and runs like that are like body blows in a boxing match four 5 six yd gains early turn into 20 30 40 yd gains later they really wear down defenses and they test their physicality and how about that what the doctor always ordered an explosive play to the 40 his offense lines up feeling awfully good after that big play wide receiver coming across in motion touch pass on the Jet Sweep a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three and that's a really good job by the defense reacting to what they see they see the quarterback flipp It Forward on the touch pass now I got to go get it right Coral that football he picked up some yards yeah but you didn't give up that big explosive play and now you have to make him earn it now on the next down the Wilds ahead for a pick up of one to the 32 well man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain running attack he'll pull it on the read can't get him to the ground he'll come through on third Downs he's got enough and they'll mark it at the 23 in an offense if you're going to be successful running the ball and I don't care who it is carrying it you got to have receivers that are willing to block you got to have guys that are willing to get involved how about the receiver here on the stock block going and picking off that safety defense there to stop him at the 20 let's get give him three yards on that carry after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven from the gun they'll try to impose their running game headed to the end zone they'll finally get him stopped at the one yd line what a run there and the owls have it in scoring position on first and goal 29 Philly and they just tried to slam it in from the doorstep but they went nowhere and it'll be marked down at the one can the defense stop them again on second and goal barges ahead and he'll find The End Zone touchdown [Music] Forlan and what a push up front by this offensive line everyone playing in driving out of their stance working into the second level hats on hats creating a lane for that running back and he added the extra point about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the run from inside his own he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Charlotte will send the offense back onto the field now they need to put something together to answer that last score there's a lot of pressure too on this offense to have to execute at a high level they've got to score points D but they can't go too fast cuz their defense right now is TI and I think that's the difficulty being a play call like I have to balance all of those things my defense is a little bit tired I can't put on the field but I got to be aggressive because this is a back and forth type game so a lot to process and think about hey man if you're going to force incompletions when the QB is thrown the tight end you better do physical nice job with the hit forcing that incompletion on Third and long try to convert through the air and the incomplete pass will bring up fourth down that's why it's so important for this defense to win first and second down you set up third and Longs like that you know show your exotic looks you get the pass rush going everybody in the back end expecting throw and that's how you force incompletions and Force fourth Downs he gets a block oh what a move this guy is a daring punt return man he's not going to settle for the fair catch a solid return gets a little bit of ground for the offense great spot to start this drive for the [Applause] offense to the air it's fer going deep and this will be incomplete a big hit there forces second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again they'll give it to Johnson he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage man nowhere to run on that play at all about all you can say is do better but that's the problem are they able to do better and that's why you keep trying things right keep trying to get on the perimeter run it up the middle try different things to see what you do well get it out on the screen across the 25 he's got room big big gain on that one as he Steeps out of bounds with a first down and the offensive line and the quarterback has to do their job on screens they got to sell pass down the field pass down the field offensive line releases quarterback now snaps his eyes to the running back the running back does the rest with the big boys out in front creating the pack you know I really like this QB running the football because I know he's got a lot of speed but he's not the biggest guy in the world so he's not going to be able to break a lot of tackles you really got to do a good job of trying to scheme ways to get him out in more space that pass is incomplete and they're probably fortunate that it wasn't knock free for a fumble and here they come to give it another shot on Third and goal from the three from the gun wants to pass looking for the score he's got it in the end zone touchdown FAU and wa just a second the officials going to take a second look at this one and the play will and after the replay boo just does a little double checking to make sure getting set for the point after and with the extra point they're now up by a touchdown and a field goal at 10 and let's check in with Kevin Conor in the studio Kevin guys let's take a look at what's happening in a great college football matchup Clemson is down right now but I'm not convinced this team doesn't have a CJ Spiller like big play in them any change in momentum and this is a brand new game it's a touchdown game they're trailing by seven to the pandas we promise to keep you posted on what goes down in this exciting college football matchup thanks for the update on that one Kevin let us know when it goes final we know this guy is in contention right now for the Heisman Trophy and this late in the year if you're going to bring that home you got to put up big stack games right had over a 100 rushing yards this last time out he's doing it again today he is turning it on late this season and a nice solid pick up there before the defense wrestles him to the ground halfway there on first down it's second and five the give to the tail back got him now for the first oh and what a move what a Juke and he makes it past the marker [Applause] we've reached the end of the quarter FAU has the lead how about the offense both teams put on display in this first quarter huge early numbers they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first down easy they'll give it to the back what a good run there he has enough for the first down he now has 80 yards on the ground and just another day at the office for the national leader in rushing and the 49ers have it with a first and 10 quarterback will audible they've marched to the Red Zone and here they go got it they stop him just short of the first down but it will be second and inches coming up last couple of plays the offense seems to be just one step ahead David yeah and I'm going to have to do something to disrupt the timing the Rhythm I got to do something that they're not expecting because right now they got the run and they got the pass working so this defense they have to find something new to kind of confuse this offense Brown wants to pass he's got his man he gets it in touchdown Charlotte ling up to add another and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drivea at he'll bring it back from inside to SP he was looking for more Running Room but to be found as he stopped at the 23 FAU has it back as the owl offense will go back to work they've cut him up with touchdowns on the last two possessions and now they have it back man this offense has really really found a rhythm they've got the whole Playbook at their disposal really firing at all cylinders if I'm this defense Jesse I got to take something away I got to make them onedimensional and try to get a stop yeah you got to make a decision we're loading the box and not letting you run the football or we're going to Blitz you and the pass rush is effective and they tackle him at the 19 just a great job defensively making him go through his progressions and he really didn't have time to do it and that's exactly what you do in zone coverage you drop in your spots you read the quarterback's eyes make oh my goodness he's still moving and how about that alertness and that swarming D to keep him from getting the first down FAU will send out the punt team this will be the second time time they've had to kick it away he'll be content with the field position making the fair catch right around the 30 yd Line Charlotte has the ball back the 49ers offense will return to the field they put it in the end zone the last time they had it and now an opportunity to really take control of this game you can feel the momentum shifting if they were able to take the football here drive it down the field and score again David they would have all of that momentum on their side and there's nothing about momentum that you can want like I I don't understand it but once it gets going in One Direction a lot of times it's so hard to swing it back the other direction the momentum is real and they got it after the misfire it's second and 10 the give out of the gun they'll pick up five it'll be third and five I know the passing game sells the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards a pop on the ground but it will be very success how bold will they be on third down after that last run receivers telling the quarterback what they see brown will throw it working the middle it's complete and oh he was Off to the Races after the catch and they finally drag him down offense threatening at the 45 yd line on First and 10 well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting pression and I love when my quarterback sees Zone and knows exactly where to go with the football sees the wide receiver running the drag route knows when to throw it pulls the trigger for the easy completion One Step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground how bold will they be on third down after that last run from the gun wants to pass got it in the middle it's Olen really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down it's tough on the defense there third down you're in zone coverage everybody's watching the quarterback and you're trying to make a break on the ball but he just got it out of his hands too quickly and the throw was too accurate really nothing you can do there and it's now a touchdown Charlotte and they add six more the board with that trip to the house this offense is really dangerous because of the weapons they have on the perimeter of the field and you're seeing they go to these guys early and they try to give them opportunities in one-on-one situations and vertically down the field two passing touchdowns now early for this offense he'll start the return inside his SP nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their L and they'll stop him at the 16 the FAU offense will return to the field that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them got three on first down it's second and seven to the air it's fer that one never had a chance incomplete they couldn't make the connection on second down now a third and seven to keep the drive alive from the gun wants to pass throwing right got his Man Down field that's the kind of play that can really get you going as they get it out to the 36 the owls will snap it on First and 10 there's a reason third down is called the money down what a great find by the quarterback great job finding his receiver at the end of the game you look at third down percentages it tells a huge story and it goes a long way in deciding who wins a football got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 he's looking to [Applause] throw and just too much on that pass too high too wide out of bounds and incomplete you hear about shot plays all the time offensive coordinators love to take deep shots down the field they plan them they plan when they're going to do them and I bet you we'll plan to see a few more throughout this game on Third and long he has to throw for it just threw that one away to avoid disaster and offensively we know it's hard throwing the ball in third and long situations because the defense can play Big Zone coverages they got a lot of guys with their eyes on you so the QB had no shot there nobody open nice job not forcing it not risking a turnover just throwing it away he'll get it to about the 25 before they put a stop to the [Music] return Charlotte will send the offense back onto the field Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one Dave we'll see what they can do here in this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep the pace keep it going hand off to the lone back and he gets it up to the 36 it'll be a first down it's a nice run there to get the first down I got to tell you I'm impressed with the stable of backs and the weapons this offense has a lot of different guys can touch the football in a variety of ways but they've been running it very very well in this game so far going to take a shot and how about that DB getting a hand in there and forcing the incomplete pass really nice play by the defender being in a good position for that deep ball down the field not letting the receiver put his big body on him go up over top the only thing that could have been better is that thing tipped to another Defender and it was an interception but great coverage by the defender give him 109 yards on the ground and he came into this game leading the nation in rushing coming out on first down with the play fake nowhere to go and the ball is loose defense coming up with a huge fumble recovery and the quarterback just ran out of time there and they were able to knock it free quarterbacks have got to do a great job keeping two hands on the football especially in passing situations like that because you know Defenders are swatting at the ball even if you can't see them these guys that are 65 66 they've got long arms they're trying to rip and tug away and get that ball out of your hands that QB will learn from this play he's got to do a better job with his fundamentals and he's brought down after a nice gain and you can see why it's so tricky for a defense to have to stop these draw plays Everything the offense is doing is telling you pass the quarterback the offensive line the running back's delaying you've taken your deep drop in coverage and now you've got to rally and find the football and do it trying to avoid these big 300lb bodies running at you full speed not an enviable T it's first and 10 from the 13 he's looking to throw it trying to get to him can't find his man as he took a shot trying to deliver that football and it'll be second down going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone dropping back it's fer this time on target that completion will take it close to the 5 yd line they'll mark it at the six slant routes they're good against man coverage but they're good against Zone coverage too if that receiver can find the soft spot between the linebacker and the DB you'll take that throw all day they'll try to get it through the air pocket starts to collapse and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back at the 16 and on fourth down here comes the field goal unit after finish in a drive with a field goal earlier this one will be a 33 yd attempt he splits to ypr and puts three on the board they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last [Applause] drive and he takes this from inside the five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Charlotte has the ball back the 49ers offense will return to the field they coughed it up on that last drive but the defense really bailed him out holding him to a field goal Jesse yeah and I I think the offense kind of got away from their identity a little bit on that last Drive David they got to kind of get back to doing what they do yeah and hold on to the football I mean defense just did their job stopped him held him to a field goal limited the damage now it's time for the offense to get the momentum going again they'll go to the ground lowers those pads and obviously this guy's been hyped up talked about him in the heing race what do you have to do you got to finish strong the voters are watching what you do at the end of the season awesome opportunity put together 100 yard game last week put some stats up get a bunch of touchdowns you know really finish strong so you can get in that Heisman race and maybe go win that big trophy and he brought one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there second down here and maybe they've got time to get one more snap off before the two-minute warning Brown wants to pass caught and the defense makes the immediate tackle but he has enough for the first down the 49ers come to the line with a new set of downs comes out throwing on first down got him downfield and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play and the 49ers are in the hurry upan from the gun running back on the move and he was able to run through one tackle but still only a modest game going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down he's looking to throw and he just flat dropped it I think he wanted to run before he secured it there's there's an example Jesse in receiver making his quarterb the and make it look good and cover up for him all those balls y'all don't throw online but that would hit him in a pretty good spot he needs to come down that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down they'll have to settle for a field goal attempt he'll boot it from the left side and from this distance that angle ought to be fairly easy no good and guys after the miss the lead is still one fa it back as the owls offense will go back to work David they had to settle for a field goal last time yeah they move the ball down the field Jesse just couldn't put it in the end zone in that red area where they needed to be a little bit more efficient I think they just got to do a little better job of executing on this drive and we'll see if they can punch it in for six this time second and short now after that completion he's looking to throw by his man it's Alexander a quick tackle made but he's got plenty for the first down he's going to pass feeling some heat and he can't escape and down he goes the offense quickly calls timeout to stop the clock and that's now their third sack of the game this is one of the best units in the entire country getting after the quarterback they have done such a great job recruiting athletes up front and in their front seven they can Blitz they can rushy with four with three but they've got dudes that can beat you oneon-one and you're seeing that in this game and good coverage by the defense just a short game they'll hurry to the line here to try to get off that third down play the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page somebody needs to make a play here it's third and long from the 26 they go to the ground and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down defense calls a quick timeout there perhaps a little confused about what call they were in fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he'll bring it back it's Thomas and he's going to get it up to about the 29 yd line before he's brought down Charlotte will send the offense back onto the field you want to talk about taking the wind out of your sails Drive the ball down the field and miss the field goal David you know what don't leave it up to Kickers execute better offensively I think you move the ball nice you got to keep in mind but Palmer I think you got to stay aggressive and don't settle for field goals yeah because you got to know there's just no margin for error right now you just have got to be able to execute at a higher level Brown will throw it he lets one fly deep incomplete he took a shot on the final play of the quarter and couldn't quite find his man first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connors in our keep playing physical and then tell your offense hey we need a little help over here like can you help us out and put some points on the board well I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride and they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the dline it's complete a huge pickup and the big gain and they've got it on the 46 and your number one goal when you Blitz is to get to the quarterback make him feel uncomfortable and they didn't do it they didn't get home quarterback had a little bit too much time you could tell felt too comfortable didn't even get a hit on him stop is made at the 36 but he pied up 10 on that one and has a fresh set of downs and obviously if you're going to be in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy you got to be putting out big stat Games Week in week out he's been doing it all season long and obviously had over a 100 rushing yards his last time out he's doing it again here today in a game where a lot of Heisman Trophy voters they're watching this one and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy they might have the defense's head spinning a little bit now hit him with a big run now they hit him with a big pass man it's so hard to defend both you know that which coverage do I want to put do I want to put more people in the Box to stop headed to the end zone touchdown ners and they take it in for six more points anytime you've got a successful Run play on the ground you've got to have great blocking up front the offensive line receivers everybody doing their job and that helped lead to the Home Run almost ready to kick it away after SC a touchdown at 27 here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the FAU offense will return to the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it I think they got to be more physical David I think up front they got to do a better job getting blocks and establishing this running game and how easy does football become if you're the physical team if you can threaten the run and then then run play action it opens up the whole offense at your disposal oh big to get pass and he gets it to the 44 yd line it'll be a first down FAU racing to the line looking to pass it's fer quickly complete runs through a tackle and he'll run across the sidelines after the good gain Up Tempo for the [Applause] offense wants to throw on second down grab near the sticks it's more and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down this FAU offense is moving quickly he'll keep it him that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out and here comes the offense on second down he's looking to throw blasted as he lets it go nowhere close on that one as he got drilled trying to deliver the football and now they face third down and this this is why this team is losing this game right now they cannot protect their quarterback he's already been sacked a bunch of times almost got sacked right there this guy doesn't have a chance with the way this offensive line is playing and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no game land well you love to see that from the defense right it's like Ben don't break they've given up a bunch of plays on this drive but now that they're getting down close to field goal range you're seeing him start to stiffen up there yeah and plays don't matter anymore yards don't matter all that matter with these defenses nowadays is points and limiting them maybe one notch of adrenaline too much on the punt there it hits about a yard Deep In The End Zone it'll come out to the 20 Charlotte will send the offense back onto the field that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball downhill and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with backto back TDS in quarterback dropping back understanding I'm getting Zone coverage all I got to do is be a little bit patient manipulate that defense a little bit my wide receiver runs that drag and I get the first down Brown wants to pass throws to the wide out got a man in the middle and it is a chunk play a huge gain on that one before the defense brings it to an end and with that pass right there over 300 yd that's a good day at the office being able to execute doing a good job seeing what's coming anticipating taking some shots today but has held really strong put up some good numbers going up top on first down and he can't connect on the throw it's incomplete incomplete it's second down after the misfire now on second down he's looking to throw pulls it in it's Mt he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pickup and moving the sticks for a first down the 49ers come to the line with a fresh set of downs the aerial assault continues quarterback feeling that pressure and he's knocked down at the 42 after the big first down sack for the D it's second down he's looking to throw going for the big play and it falls incomplete and the offense is lucky to have it Defender right there almost headed in his grass I'm not positive but that first down marker might be in the next County receivers often will run their route based on a side adjustment on Third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker well this off given a lesson right now on how to fight through adversity because first and second down was ugly but they come up with that huge completion to Now set up a manageable fourth down opportunity to keep this drive alive and they drag him down but not before he picks up the first down and the 49ers have pushed it inside the 20 how about the defense trying to slow this dude down he's a Heisman Contender for a reason he's so difficult to tackle and the rush will get to him at the 25 that last play the kind of thing that can mess up a really good drive it's second and 17 Brown will throw it finds his big tight end and his away again he'll be brought down at the three yd line an explosive play in the passing game has him on the doorstep the 49ers trying to get a touchdown on first and goal trying to pound it in and will cruise into the end zone touchdown 49ers I tell you when this drive started the defense thought they had them in a hole not anymore what a performance and I really like the play calling coordinator on that last drive that was a nice mixture of running and throwing and getting different players involved really nice job very poised in that play calling and it showed up with the touchdown he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the touch back FAU has it back as the owls offense will go back to work David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sideline in this drive yeah it's not something you want to say very often you don't want the pun right there this offense needs to get back lathered up and get a little bit more of a r best way to do that identify where your best players are and just get them the football give these guys some touches to Kickstart this offense looking to throw on second down catch in the middle it's Alexander he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs good job by the receiver there not to run into coverage but to find a spot that the quarterback can throw him the ball yeah on those types of routes ree they say if you're looking you're booking so if that's man coverage the receiver staring at the quarterback all the way across the field that time the receiver didn't give the quarterback his eyes so they were on the same page they both knew it was Zone and they executed that [Applause] perfectly wide receiver shows motion out of the gun they'll run it inside pretty good job of running to get two there to the 32 third down and this offense is already in a world of trouble they could really use the conversion not to mention multiple scores looking to throw it's fer pressure coming he looks that one in nicely and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop one of the things I love about this defense they just have such great awareness and they're always communicating they understood the down and distance they knew exactly what they needed to do to make the tackle to force the punt that is so well done and the punt team able to smack him to the ground Charlotte has the ball back the 49ers offense will return to the field this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up can anyone catch him and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up no matter where they are on the field they'll go for those chunk plays and they got one that has them set up first and 10 at the 42 fires to the wide out nice defensive play to get a hand in there and knock it away you know the defense just hasn't seemed to quite have an answer they've come close to interceptions like that one there but they haven't Reg reged any so far they've given up a few touchdown passes they're just not quite able to make the plays they need to against the pass in this game they make the stop but this passing game does some damage and they move the sticks with the first down these wide receivers are so athletic out wide now you're so worried about getting beat deep and these slant routes they can be a good change up I mean just couple steps stick your foot in the ground come inside it might not be huge gains all the time but man it keeps that DB off bound I like the decision there in the RPO game too guys I know only only got a couple of yards but that play is going to open up bigger opportunities throwing the football down the field in the RPO game too so keep handing it off to this guy let him see what he can do and when the defense gives you the look to t hold the football and then finally throw it that's when you take advantage looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out and now on third down after that last run 29 pH they'll try to move the chains on the ground and the 49ers will move the sticks and I just love when guys know exactly where the sticks are you could tell ran with purpose finished through the sticks and got just enough for the first down and a nice job up front too right good communication everybody knew where they had to go hat on a hat work the double teams and get some push and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge huge pick up on that play nice job by the receiver there running the drag route against Zone coverage finding the soft spot making it easy on his quarterback to get the completion he turns it up field and he moves the sticks the give to the back he works his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making the good run great job finishing with his PS the run from the shotgun touchdown Charlotte and the Ping has started he'll try to tack on one more and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown at 27 on the run from inside his zone five couldn't find a way to create that broken field as he stopped at the 25 the FAU offense will return to the field their Drive chart is starting to look a little monotonous punt punt punt David and their defense is starting to get a little frustrated too they just keep putting me back on the field possession after possession Jesse this offense needs to get their heads out of there you know what the punter's on the sideline with the oxygen mask right now he's been playing so much he's not used to this this off they just got to stay on the field they've got to put a drive together and get some balance going running and throwing the ball the offense getting set for a first down from the 45 one of the things that makes this guy so dangerous is how good he is after the catch if he's got any space around him he's able to burst he's able to make people miss and get extra yards for his offense you saw it right there 6y pickup on first down leaves him with second and four looking down field it's fer floats it out in space they knock him down behind the line and the defense finishing this third quarter in style time has expired here in the quarter and it's Charlotte on top let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff race is shaping up one more quarter to go and it looks as if we are ready to play we've got this third down play to open the quarter easy from the gun wants to pass he'll take the Deep shot and that pass picked off and the offense makes the tackle in frustration after the interception Drive comes up empty and it's a turnover the offense lining up for a first down Play here's the handoff nice move to stay on his feet just what the doctor order to get away from the shadow of that goal post and pick up a first down at the 23 here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs might as well give it to him again finds his way ahead for five and now they've got it at the 28 you got to give the coaching staff credit because they really do Focus all season long on situational football with the lead late in the game if we're on offense we're trying to stay in bounds we're trying to bleed the clock and after ripping off a really nice run that guy knew I've got to get down I cannot get pushed out of bounds cannot get tackled out of bounds really really nice trying to pick up a first down on Third and short the power run here and with that effort they pick up a fresh set of downs they have it at the 34 yd line I love when players understand situations and they understand where the first down marker is is and they understand where I got to get to a lot of people you'll see run north south and try to bounce out wide and make big plays sometimes it's not about making big plays sometimes it's about getting that first down to make sure I get an extra set of downs instead of trying to make those big touchdown runs after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and [Applause] seven they'll leave it with him really nice stop there from this senior leader now staring at a third and short from the 40 quarterback reacting to what the D is showing Brown wants to pass receiver looks it in it's complete and they'll pick up the first down and Mark it at the 47 well this guy's been a go-to guy for this offense all game long we've seen that and here on a critical third down late in the game with the lead guess who shows up with another big one that guy [Applause] AC they'll throw it on first down catch in the middle it's Thomas put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the change with the first down defense just hasn't had an answer for this guy he has been on point this is about as good as I've seen him play at the quarterback position and here in the fourth quarter with a big lead he's still taking shots [Applause] he'll come out throwing on first down he's going for the big play and they weren't able to make the connection they were looking for an explosive play I'm a little bit surprised they're still throwing the football here this late in the game with this kind of lead they're on first down taking a shot Falls incomplete but obviously they're still seeing matchups that they want to take advantage of in the back end of this defense so they're letting it fly man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out they've been very good at moving the chains on third down two for two on this drive this time they need six from the gun wants to pass snagged in the middle it's Olen offens has gain momentum with third down conversions like that they've got it at the 25 the 49ers have it with a first and 10 they'll ride the running back and leave it with him dances away from one they stop him right on the edge of the Red Zone a pick up of five to the 20 man that's the advantage of having a good coaching staff that teach these players in this type of situation with the lead late in the game you want to stay in the field of play and keep the clock ticking they do and the defense a got him at the 27 nice sack by the defense great job getting to him getting them on the ground that's the four sack of the this defense have had some bright moments they've also given up some big plays keep rushing the quarterback but keep that coverage and tacking the back in this drive started about the time Walter Camp invented football but the defense can finally get a stop on Third and long unloads to the wide out serious arm strength on that third down pass but it's incomplete ni job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion on fourth down he'll try to toss it complete out of the back field he's not going to get there stopped short on fourth down you know there are a lot of people watching this game that are thinking themselves where's the sports Mission you're ping this team out why are you going for it on Fourth why not just punt give it back and just leave here with a double that's because this coach wants his guys to keep EX I played for a coach in college that would have done the same thing if backups are on the field they get an opportunity to run your playball so let him do it at the end of the day you got to force the opponent to stop and that's what they're doing that's the mindset I got to be honest I like it makes the catch it's Tucker and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few well here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be
