you're fascinating in the in the breadth of work that you do I I got to tell you you probably don't know this but you have given me some of the biggest laughs I have laughed harder at things that you've been involved with than than anything one of the things that stands out because I I was looking through a bunch of stuff is when you were on Ellen oh qu is here yes yes that and you you didn't break and I think that's a testament to just being I would not have been able to do this just for those that don't know he was on Ellen um Ellen had an ear gave him an earpiece and he had to say he had to walk into a Starbucks uh a crowded Starbucks people don't know that there's a hidden camera he has to walk into a crowded Starbucks and say everything that Ellen said to say Yeah in in a public place yeah just repeat it in a way that every way that she said it and and what was amazing to me is knowing that going into it you know that she's going to make you say things that are you're not on a movie set yeah you're in real you're in the real world that are not going to make you look sane if if that's the word yeah it's like uh well you know fear is a great motivator I mean I was uh I was leaving I'd done my interview with her and I was getting in my car and said Al I want you to do this thing you want to do it I went I I I I just wanted to drive away and but you know fear went up my spine and so that's the thing that says oh you should do this because the fear thing is actually something is telling you you should try this out you know what that's a great philosophy and and I think in life people are searching and just wallowing in comfort and the people that chase the fear or react to the fear or go through the fear are the people that are successful in life and stick around that's true and but so I just want not the same haircut for like 40 years well I don't you have the same haircut but then again but it's I see what you did there yeah but just I'm parting it everywhere but it's it's just not getting stuck here can I play a clip from that Ellen thing just so the people know if you're listening so he's walking into a Starbucks he's wearing an earpiece and Ellen is telling him what to say there are customers uh wandering around the store and there's the Barista here we go Dennis quate is here say it loud Dennis Quade is here everybody's turning around and looking at you and trying to be nice you who I am I was nominated for a Golden Globe I was nominated for a Golden Globe oh my God Dennis Quaid wants a coffee Dennis Quaid wants a coffee I love the third person like to have uh uh what kind of coffee do I want I want a spice latte Decap I want a spice latte Decap 140° 140° tall cup what tall cup pump spice he's saying tall sir he can't pumpkin spice it is yes pumpkin look how serious you are you're supposed to tell him that tell repeat this back to me okay okay that's amazing it's not only amazingly funny the concept but the way and that's what blew me away I was on the floor the first time I saw that I was on the floor crying I don't know if you know this about me but my entree into wanting to do anything comedic was watching Allan fun do candid I love Allen font yeah and even as a comedian comedy does not make laughing at his what was his cohort the tall guy um oh [ __ ] uh not Dennis James he was on there though but there was another guy but I digress yeah but but the the truth of the matter is like if you tell me a joke it doesn't really make me laugh because two guys did not walk into a bar but when I see people reacting uncomfortably uh weirdly and I'm talking about the fact that you were you had the ability and the audacity to do exactly what she was saying with such conviction and I don't know if it's because you're a great actor or you just I don't know how you do that very directable you are but the thing is that every when when Dennis Quaid wants coffee and you have to see if you're not watching this on YouTube everybody in the place just kind of and can you imagine being in that place yeah but you would agree that comedy comes out of pain right all of it uncomfortable uncomfortable it's it's pain that's what makes it funny that's why you laugh at a clown falling down at the Circle comedy is tragedy plus time right right thank you
