British Guys React To New NFL Dynamic Kick Off Explained! (NFL Reaction + Win $250)

welcome back everyone so today we are back with an NFL video this is from the NFL channel I don't know if you've heard of them if you haven't we'll put their Channel down in the description and uh this video is the new Dynamic kickoff rule explained using Madden so we've heard about the rule we have we definitely need to learn this rule because I know during the pre-season friendly games y they they're not really called friendly games just preseason games but there was an incident where this already caused confusion okay I did watch the highlights of that game because it involved the Chiefs okay but I didn't stick around to find out about the details as to why it was confusing I believe it bounced in and then came back out and I can't remember what the outcome was I remember now yeah I also don't remember the outcome but I think somewhat it might been you might have told me where it bounc in the end zone and out again sounds like the sort of thing I'd say yeah no yeah but the first time I heard about the rule was I was streaming um college football 25 and then they explained it to me in the chat and it was a really good explanation l an hour after the stream I've forgotten what it was it's hard it is hard and that's why that's why I think using Madden this could actually be pretty good we've watched obviously many videos from the NFL in the past all really insightful please playing well it was a lot of fun last year I'm sure it's going to be even better this year we have got another competition in there no prize pot for for this one but it's just really for bragging rights and that is an NFL Survivor League now I've never done one of these before I instantly realized it's something that I think I'm probably going to win but then a couple of people in Discord were saying the same so yeah we've got people that entered already that's just for a good old laugh so yeah it's good old bragging rights if you're not on the Discord definitely jump on there because it's meantime let's jump into this video we hope that you enjoy the all new Dynamic kickoff rule for the upcoming season will noticeably change one of the most iconic plays in the game the dynamic kickoff was created to address the lowest kickoff return rate en NFL history during the 2023 season and an unacceptable injury rate on kickoffs prior to that from the formation the players take on the field to the zones the ball can land in and when the players can move this play will look completely different from what fans are used to seeing EA just quickly I know it's a really early pause but I don't actually know what the actual formation is for the old kickoff so I hope that's not going to hinder being able to pick up what this is is this to try and encourage more returns then judging by what he said potentially I mean that's fun we love returns sports team with coaches around the league who help create the rule if it's in the game it's in Madden 25 the dynamic kickoff will keep the excitement of kickoff returns in the game while returning the injury rate closer to that of a traditional scrimmage play The Kicking team will kick off from its own 35 yd line 10 members of the kicking team will line up on the receiving team's 40 yd line a minimum of nine members of the receiving team will line up between the thir 30 and 35 yd lines up to two returners line up in the landing Zone The Landing zone is between the receiving team's 20 yard line and goal line play begins when the ball is either caught or hits the ground in the landing zone or is returned from The End Zone any kick that bounces from The Landing Zone to the end zone must be returned or downed by the receiving team for a Touchback and possession at his 20 yd line if a kick fails to reach the landing Zone the receiving team takes possession at it 40 yd line if the ball ERS The End Zone in the air that's a big Advantage then so if they don't if the kickoff doesn't reach the 20 between 20 yards and the end zone then the receiving team get to start from the 40 yard line that's a big Advantage they near halfway up the field yeah that's crazy yeah the receiving team can return it or down it for a touch back and take possession at its 30 yd line if the ball goes out of bounds the receiving team takes possession at its 40 yd line onside kicks are only permitted in the fourth quarter setup and Landing zones do not change after penalties or a safety only the spot where the ball is kicked changes while there's a huge benefit to player health and safety here the hope with this rule change is that it will ultimately add more returns and in turn more excitement to the kickoff did they say that you're not you're not allowed to move until the players caught the ball that's what I'm wondering cuz that seems to be what's happening in the game at least um so I don't know if there are limits to where so the returner can get quite far down the field before he can get tackled I'm guessing that's what they're trying to encourage just to stop teams from going down and starting at the 20 or something along those lines so that part of it definitely makees sense yeah definitely slightly confused by the other bits but I'm sure it will all come to me are you happy with this change I mean it seems like a positive attacking change but yeah let let us know your faults is it something that you're happy has been brought in or do you think it's too extreme um obviously we still got two thirds of the video to go seems like there a big punishment for not either going out of bounds or or not hitting the actual Returns the the Zone past 20 yard not getting it far so the kicking team has to be on point I hope there's no bad weather Blowing the ball they don't play in bad weather when we were working with coaches almost every single one of them thought that this was one of the most significant changes to pro football in over 20 years which is pretty big for us huge we were able to work directly with Mike Tomlin the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers who's actually on the rules committee so we started working directly with him and picking his brain on how he was going to utilize these rules with his team what strategies he was going to employ and what we found really interesting was he had already mentally mapped out how this thing is going to evolve over the course of the season however Madden works then you work that out you works out what the Steelers are going to be doing that's it yeah you go nail down like sorted complete that's how that's how they're studying the Steelers defense they're all playing Madden I wonder if they're can going have a good season this year we should have done um I say we should have done everyone's obviously out their predict videos at the moment we did discuss it but then we thought what could we really add to a prediction video um I know bits and Bobs have been listening to a few podcasts and now I'm an expert but maybe we could bring a British spin on it just as far as the prediction goes who do you think's going to have the worst recorda worst record what finished finished dead last that's that would be the worst record okay no see I'm putting them two and two together I'm learning um it's they could be between a few do you know what I'm going to go Patriots going Patriots okay interestings is that because they're not going to be starting Drake me yeah I'll be honest I know you lot would have heard of him but the they're starting QB you never heard of him Bisset it's yeah it's jacobe Jobe yeah they're not they're not going with Drake may now which I assume they would be I thought they would have drafted him so high I assumed he would have been going straight in they have Joe Milton as well which who did pretty well yeah in um in in the offseason but yeah I think they're going to struggle this year okay I I could go for somebody like Arizona but I think I'm going to go for Giants oh I'm going to go for the Giants I don't think many people would say the Giants probably because I'm going to be wrong but we obviously watched the Hard Knock and having watched Hard Knock um we put the whole thing up on our patreon and um I just think that sticking with Daniel Jones I just think he going to backfire I think offensively they're going to really struggle I could be wrong uh I know they got Dexter Lawrence but I just think outside of that it's going to be a bit of a struggle anyway we' have gone way off topic just going to say quickly one more thing we did watch the New York Giants Hard Knocks um offseason and we watched the um training camp with the Bears and they're both on our patreon if you want to check those out uh the Link's in the pinned comment yeah no it's really good you know we're we're going into Uncharted Territory with this kickoff concept there are actually no real visuals of the concept my sons play all the EA Sports Games man I got a lot of respect for the realism of their product uh we reached out to those guys and wanted to just kind of get a visual maybe of some of the the the schematics how the alignment might affect the timing of blocks and so forth uh that game is more than entertainment from my perspective uh it is a real simulator we as a staff are moving very intentionally uh regarding the implementation of the new kickoff rule we don't want to teach bad habits um it's some new skills being displayed in a lot of ways particularly from a kicker's perspective having to drop the ball in the landing Zone and so forth you know we're really excited about the unforeseen in this concept um we've shown that in terms of some of our player acquisition um it would probably behoove you to have some experienced special teams players on your roster not knowing the significance of the potential impact of this change you just can't have enough capable veteran dudes that know what they're doing in that space one thing I'm wondering as well is who's this going to who is this going to benefit the most right because which teams maybe this has come as a nice surprise to them because you will have teams who have better returners than other teams so which teams are really going to benefit from this and which teams are potentially going to struggle because they've kind of completely neglected this area because I'm guessing when it comes to returners even if a team doesn't have a ready returner right you could just stick a running back in there could you not I I think some do I think I think some running backs do also play the role of returner it makes sense obviously agile they're quick um so yeah makes perfect sense I was going to say also if your kicker is not like a great kicker like so did they say you kick from the 35 yard line yes so the landing zone is 45 to 65 yards away and you got to drop it in that small Zone I've said it about three times now but that seems crazy to me I think I think that's quite easily doable what do you think I think so from a kickoff yeah cuz it's not a punt is it so I think punting maybe maybe a little bit harder but no I think I think they'll be all right as he got a if if it bounces out of the landing Zone though so I think that's what they said so is I think what happened in the game it doesn't know they're actually going to cover off this scenario is I think it bounced In The End Zone yeah and came back into the landing Zone but I cannot remember the outcome of it so you have to let help us out in the comments with that one just so we can understand they said in the end zone you have to touch it down don't you or return it youou if you touch it down you if you touch it down for a Touchback you start from the 20 uh or you return it but yeah it basically sounds as though Kick It In The Landing Zone screw it up and they're good receiving teams going to be going from the full week yeah nuts yeah I I like it when you're pushing into Uncharted schematic territory we hope the fans enjoy it um I'm excited about seeing how it unfolds we know it's going to be exciting and we certainly know it's going to be different and I think it might take a little bit of time for the fans to get used to so then there's going to be a lot of eyes on the TVs we had the lowest return rate in the history of the game last year the highest Touchback percentage rate and so we really the play was really becoming more of a ceremonial play we want to bring this play back to the Forefront we wanted to help with the player safety aspect of it we felt there was a few too many injuries on our old kickoff style so driving down the injury rate is a big part of why we did what we did the second part is we wanted to uh return percentage to go way up it was too low this year and it's such a dynamic play in our sport that we felt it was worth putting in the time to to bring a play back to life for kickers for returners for tacklers for blockers and I think you're going to see a great product a lot of experimentation and hopefully some really big plays and we're excited to bring it to you the dynamic kickoff is here and the game will never be the same yeah I mean what do you think no it's I mean it sounds good it sounds good it looks like it's going to open up a lot of return run in that's for sure and i' one thing I'm not entirely sure of is when they're talking about injuries they're not referring to injuries to the kicker right they kept saying injuries to the kicker the way it's being done but I can't really see other than them or maybe it's because of how far they're R to kick I don't know I don't know if that's what it is or it could be that one team starts on the 35 and one starts on the 40 so they're quite close together so I don't know if the injuries were caused by them running at full speed into each other maybe I don't know I can't I have no idea I'm not too sure I'm just thinking most teams I'm guessing there was a team last year that were without a kicker weren't they was it the Houston Texans I think it may have been the Texans okay if not I'm just making it up but yeah I think they were without a kicker so they didn't have anybody to be doing that fair enough which obviously is a huge deal yeah Def and most teams often only have one kicker yeah so I wonder if that's potentially why and it's going to be safer for them to be kicking from that distance but no it sounds like a good rule really go watch the video because if we hadn't watched that video it definitely would have caused me some confusion going into the season guessing that you already knew about it but if you didn't hopefully you know about it now and um I'm not sure what how it's going to be received there was some people that don't like the change we know that but I think if it does drive down injury and once the fans start seeing those return rates go up and up and up there only going to be fun for the game and I think yeah I think it's a good rule I like it no I would agree and I don't like agreeing but in this case I think I have to agree but let us know your thoughts correct us on anything we've got wrong because there definitely is the slight possibility that may have got one or two things wrong usually happens um stick with the NFL though yeah nothing if we're doing anything else wrong just leave us be with that all right we're
