Big 12 Championship - Texas Tech at 2nd TCU - JR Year (EA SPORTS College Football 25)

welcome everybody to what should be a memorable experience for everybody here in the building the Big 12 championship game has a history of wild dramatic finishes and based on this matchup today we could be in for another one and we have a surprising match up here today what an opportunity for an unranked team to win the conference Championship and get into the college football playoff with a big upset statement today as we'll see a squat out of the Big 12 the Texas Tech Red Raiders taking on the winners of 12 straight the TCU horn frogs 3A sports college football I'm Chris fer here in the booth with Kirk herb Street and I think we've talked long enough Kirk let's get this game going [Applause] [Applause] the offense starts with excellent field position on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball he's got it near the end zone no stopping and takes it all the way touchdown TCU looked like a total bust there easy pitch and catch like you'd see in the Tuesday practice Yeah that quarterback's eyes must have lit up on that play because you've got one of your players way down and the TCU offense is back out on the field they were able to punch it in the end zone last time looking to do the same thing here to see if the defense can make adjustments they tackle him about the 14 I'll take that every single time offensive line does a nice job up front this backs vision and ability to get positive yards by lowering his pads on full display right there play action fake looking to throw the sh hands it's James tackle made after a solid gain they'll spot the ball for 31 it's a great play for the offense but let's give all the credit to the offensive line for that play the quarterback makes the to throw but he couldn't have done it without the time that they provided offense keeps moving it's a completion for a first down off the play fake looking to throw let's it fly out of the wide out he's got it for a big gain breaks clear End Zone ahead and takes it all the way to the end zone touchdown Texas Christian well that's a well oiled machine right there everyone on this offense has been a star in their roles and when they're rolling like this results in quick and positive results [Music] [Applause] and the TCU offense takes the field great possession last time they punched it into the end zone can the defense come up with a stop this time first play of the drive come out throwing he's moving out of the pocket Now using his legs here breaks loose at the 40 and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs man this quarterback can play the game he can throw and as we see here he can run the football the defense does everything that they need to with the pressure they look like they're in good position to be able to come up with a nice play on him but instead he shows he can slip out of the back door of this defense and pick up a nice gain goes backwards losing three yards there well the back just had nowhere to go how about the defensive line they eat up all the blocks up front freeing those linebackers up to be able to make the play just a bad Play All Around for this offense now it's second down here using his legs it's cook pling space at the 20 they bring him down but the game sets up the offense first and goal from the 10 what really good run by this running back the defense fortunate to be able to bring him down inside the 10 yd line but it's first and goal for the offense on the run here let's it go he's got it right near the end zone brought down for the moves the ball down to the four wa great slant by the receiver what I love is the quarterback found the window that he wanted to make the accurate throw looking for six and it's picked off in the end zone not much on the return but the defense comes up with a takeaway Chris's trying to find something nothing is there everything is covered down field he's rolling to and the horn frogs offense takes the field now they had some good things going in the last drive but it ended suddenly with the pick Let's see what they can do here that's a nice wrap up there by the junior Christino the spread era over the years has always grown offensively but what I've been always impressed with the defenses that really build their defense to play in space still have an ability to be sound at the line of scrimmage and defend a running game it's exactly what we saw right there the offense is clicking and the defense just searching for answers now this is what's so dangerous about this offense Chris they have the ability to put the ball in the air down field and really stretch those safeties back this time they hit it for a big game that's incomplete even on a first down pass attempt he felt heavy pressure he lets it go on the Move he's got his man in the open field big Play Moves the ball all the way to the a plus 35 the horn frogs are moving quickly down the field quarterback making some changes at the line back to throw again bringing pressure it's incomplete he was hit as he threw good pass rush there on first down one way to slow down a very gifted quarterback is to be able to get pressure on him right now the defense coordinator doing great job of mixing up the looks and the defense is winning the line of scrimmage and I think it's really impacting this quarterback's Rhythm and he pulls in the catch and he takes it in for the score back behind the quarterback aligned in a pistol on first down it's playaction and he'll fling this one deep down the middle he PS it in for a big gain he's tackled immediately but not before a game that moves the ball to the 25 fresh set Downs for the offense after that first down completion takes the hand off looking to throw there's a shot toward the end zone touchdown horn Frost this Air Attack is still Unstoppable this receiver is putting on a and the TCU offense is back out on the field they've really built momentum in this game they've been hard to stop can the defense make some adjustments come up with the stop here that balls incomplete an aggressive deep shot on first down White out's NOW clustered quarterback looking to throw it on second down he's on the one launches deep oh the pass is picked off and that's a solid return after the inter ception that offensive coordinator is going to have some Choice words for his quarterback over the phone on the sideline after that throw right so it's first and 10 back inside the 5yd line we're going to see how much this play caller trusts his quarterback how aggressive will he be from this spot able to fight for a decent gain here in that running play second down after that run on the previous play and the quarterback drops back looking for an open man he's got a receiver wide open here and he will make the first down tackled at the 26 the offense really clicking against this battle defense first down looking to throw the football grab down the middle it's Bailey and they'll bring him down but this offense creates a huge chunk play offense stops the clock with their second time out talk strategy and the horn frogs begin a new series here first and 10 and he slings this pass over the middle and this is drops would have been a huge game but he could not collect it so the offense looking to be efficient here not much time remaining before the end of the half and looking for a big play here the pass is dropped incomplete would have had a huge gain took his eye off the ball so the offense getting set this is not you going to be against this defense third and long quarterback looking to scramble he'll avoid the tackle there with a slide and a quick timeout call by the offense after the play big guys up front lined up it's first [Applause] down they get the second half started with the running play they bring him down just of the marker inches away from a first down offense getting set up here's second down moving the receiver around pre- snap that's a bullet over the middle the pass is dropped would have been a big game but he couldn't hold on so incomplete pass on second down sets up a third and inches and they pick up the first on the ground he's brought down but not before Crossing Midfield of the 42 how impressive have these guys been up front today big third down know what you need to do get the first down continue to hold on to that lead continue to work clock and get that much closer to securing a victory marked out of bounds but it's another big game this Air Attack no problem moving the ball up and down the field today they'll try to pick up the yardage on the ground and he's able to find some Running Room nice pickup man you know the back HS a lot of these ention here he's a good back I'd love to see that offensive line win the battle of the line of scrimmage here comes a crucial second down play every yard tough to find down here in the red zone here comes a handoff touchdown TCU and this one is getting ugly that's a crucial touchdown Kirk the offense first down play call how aggressive will it be they'll come out throwing here to start the drive going for a big Play Down field what a pitch and catch by the quarterback and receiver for a big gain for this [Applause] offense and Kirk it's TCU with the lead so far hasn't been much of a contest so far and the stats will reflect that let's see if a comeback is in store here as we start the fourth quarter back at it to start the quarter offense getting set to run a first down play the shotgun handoff here they've got him but not before a solid gain on the ground there great job on the offensive line here opening up go and giving the running back room to run on first down plays like this can open up the playbook for the play caller allow him to make that defense think of they're going to run maybe play action maybe throw the ball down field and the wi out goes in motion from the shotgun now here's a hand off inside they bring him down but not before he gets inside the 30 yd line you know I'd say this run is pretty emblematic of what we've seen all day long no matter what they've done on offense the guys up front have controlled the line of scrimmage they've given a quarterback time to throw they've been able to run really whatever they've wanted to that's why the points are going up on the board right now the psyche this offense is we're in control and we can do whatever we want whatever we feel like doing quarterback adjusting now to the defense that's the wide receiver coming in motion now and he'll Loft it to the end zone touchdown Texas Christian and the beat down this line getting set up it's a first down play they flip it to him on the Jet Sweep it's a one yd gain second and nine coming up boy I'm a big fan of that Jet Sweep motion like that it really forces the defense to stretch them out horizontally and could create some vertical seams for this offense they got some positive yards didn't quite get the first down but I tell you what they've done planted a seed on this defense that they better defend this style of playing moving forward hand off to the back they'll keep the clock moving tackle made at the 24 yd Line This offense really threatening now you sometimes Chris we get caught up in the speed and the quickness and obviously those are important assets to have as a running back but we just saw from this guy and he's had a pretty good day is his ability to break tackles in the open space and he gets through those arm tackles you can see what he's capable of doing after being able to shake free with the speed that he has and that's the two-minute warning as this offense tries to work the clock getting closer now to an impressive Victory it's a solid run gives the offense a first down and a new set of downs [Applause] and the back gets the football the defense all over it they sto him right at the line that back just had nowhere to go got to give credit to the defense and their run fits on that play getting set here's second down an inside give now from the shotgun and they finally stop him but a decent gain that time that's the mark of a well coached team these guys don't even pay attention to the score they're just out there executing and churning up yards good solid run there as this clock continues to wind down this offense has had a great [Applause] day on third down it's a handoff and the play goes nowhere picked up about a yard but it'll be fourth down well it seemed like the offense is trying to throw some kind of misdirection with that run there but give credit to the defense they were prepared for anything and they swallowed that running back up nice defensive stand quarterback checks the defensive look makes some adjustments needs a completion here on fourth down pass is broken up turnover on down what a stop what an amazing run these guys have had and now they can call themselves champions of the Big 12 and become a piece of the history of that great conference and now with the playoff spot locked up we get to see what they can do against the 11 other best teams in the nation and that is going to wrap it up we enjoyed this one here for KK
