IT HAS BEEN HOT. >> OH, MY GOODNESS, DOZENS OF RECORDS WERE BROKEN IN THE BAY AREA IN JULY INCLUDING OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES AND DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES. WE DIDN'T GET MUCH OF A BREAK IN THE OVERNIGHT LOWS AND NOT MUCH OF A REPRIEVE. WE ARE WAKING UP WITH A REPRIEVE EARLY THIS MORNING. IF YOU FELT YESTERDAY WAS TOO WARM FOR YOU, TODAY IS THE DAY TO GET OUTSIDE AND SOAK UP FOG. YES, IT'S A FOGGY START TO THE DAY IN SAN FRANCISCO. THE ONSHORE FLOW CONTINUES. YOU MAY NOTICE IT IS BREEZIER ACROSS THE OCEAN AREAS. THAT'S BECAUSE THERE IS A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT. THE OCEAN AND WAVES ARE CHOPPIER BECAUSE THE STORM SYSTEM IS GOING TO THE NORTH. IT WILL CONTINUE TO COOL US DOWN THE NEXT 24 HOURS OR SO. LET'S TAKE A DIFFERENT VIEW OUTSIDE AS WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE SEEING ALL OF THIS ACTIVITY OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THAT IS GOOD NEWS. WE WANT FOG THIS TIME OF YEAR BECAUSE IT KEEPS US CALM AND COOL AND KEEPS US COMFORTABLE. COMFORTABLE HEAT IS THE NAME OF THE GAME IN CALIFORNIA. WE WANT IT TO STAY NOT CRAZY HOT FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS THE VIEW IN MOUNT DIABLO. YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE FOG FILLING IN, PLACES DOWN SOUTH, A FOGGY START TO THE DAY. NOT AS FOGGY AS FRAN SAN FRANCISCO. NOT NEARLY AS SUNNY AS YESTERDAY. TEMPERATURES IN THE MID-TO-LOW 60s. IN SANTA ROSA, YOU MAY WANT TO GRAB A LIGHT JACKET BUT NOT TOO IMPACTFUL. WE WILL WARM UP TO SEASONAL IF NOT A COUPLE OF DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE THIS AFTERNOON AS THE FOG ROLLS IN. YOU MAY SEE MORE OF THAT MISTY CONDITION THROUGHOUT THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS FOR PARTS OF THE COASTAL COMMUNITIES. MAYBE A LITTLE CLEARING ACROSS THE NORTH BAY. BUT IT'S GOING TO BE FOGGIER THAN YESTERDAY. WHAT WE SAW THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY. THAT FOG HOLDING TIGHT TONIGHT OVERNIGHT. MAYBE MIST EARLY TOMORROW MORNING ONCE AGAIN. THEN BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON, THE FOG WILL CLEAR. IF YOU WANT TO CHOOSE TODAY OR TOMORROW TO GET OUT AND SOAK UP THE SUNSHINE, TOMORROW IS THE DAY TO DO SO. IF YOU PLAN TO HEAD OUT TO GOLDEN GATE PARK AND ENJOY THE MUSIC FESTIVAL, A JACKET WILL BE THE NAME OF THE GAME. PROBABLY NOT A HAT OR SUNGLASSES BUT THE SUN CAN GET THE UV RAYS THROUGH THE CLOUDS. NOT A BAD IDEA TO PUT ON SUNSCREEN AS WE STEP OUTSIDE. WE WILL BE IN THE UPPER 60s TO LOW 70s ON OUR COAST. LOW 80s FOR THE INLAND COMMUNITIES. IT'S A NICE CHANGE OF PACE. LITTLE TO NO RISK FOR HEAT RELATED ILLNESS. THE STORM SYSTEM IS PASSING TO OUR NORTH. IT BRINGS IN THE STRONGER ONSHORE FLOW AND KEEPING THE FOG TODAY BEFORE A GRADUAL WARM UP NEXT WEEK. OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS, WE WILL SEE THE CHANCE FOR THAT HEAT UP. IT'S NOT GOING TO BE CRAZY HOT. IT WILL BE IN THE LOW 90s BY MONDAY. MID-90s TUESDAY. DRY AIR AND SUNSHINE ARRIVES. BUT LOW 90s FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR, THAT'S WHAT WE EXPECT. NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. A DEGREE OR TWO ABOVE AVERAGE. UPPER 70s IN THE BAY AREA COMMUNITIES. IT WILL BE WARM
