here we are scottt Hansen joining the show in t- minus I don't know about 10 to 12 minutes hopefully Scott Hansen will be here if he's late we'll forgive him if he's early we'll forgive him we're talking about a handful of topics not just Brandon auk but I want to get his thoughts on Brandon auk I want to get his thoughts on what he thinks is going to happen what he what he thinks could go down and we're going to talk about Patrick Mahomes we're going to talk about bejon Robinson we we had a ation about bejan Robinson and jir Gibbs and some of the rookies last year so we'll discuss some we liked them a lot on the channel too so it's going to be interesting to see what uh what he brings to the table today phone lines are closed until after Scott's long gone so uh I appreciate some of you trying to dial in early but we're not opening the phone lines yet okay so real quickly let me get to this news right here and then we'll we'll talk about this with Scott Hansen as well from the uh posting that there have been several times this is coming from Ian Rapaport who did an interview on on good morning football he said there have been several times that he's been ready to hit the send on a a post involving contract extension a trade and in the end he was never able to send it meaning he was literally on the verge of a trade announcement with iuk he was literally on the verge of an a contract extension he was being fed information and then things you know ended up changing like CD Lamb's new contract extension CD lamb getting this big fat huge massive extension in my opinion is going to put a a wrinkle in the plans of getting Brandon auk signed by the 49ers here in the next couple of days and now auk is very much at risk of not playing week one now if he signed in the next handful of days I very much think he would he would play but this is not the most uh simple situation and I I honestly think the the CD lamb contract extension through more than a wrinkle into the plans of of Brandon auk and the ners coming together and and getting something worked out and ink because I mean this guy Brandon auk let's be honest has been kind of a little bit drama filled um I supported him in his in the beginning of his hold out Quest because I believe the Niners botched everything from the jump I think that with with Trent Williams being out right now we'll ask Scott Hansen about that in a second so don't go anywhere Scott Hansen is inbound um we'll ask him about Trent Williams what does he think is going on with the Niners are they going to pull it all together their window is clearly closing the Niners had a probably the biggest window opening that they've ever had last year and and this year I don't I don't know I don't know to be honest with you I don't know if that window is is closed this much if it's still pretty wide open as soon as CMC gets back and and he's healthy and LT and uh uh Trent Williams comes back and and he's not you know suffering some sort of of setback or injury because of the hold out holdouts cause injuries holdouts cause injuries and it's just not a good look uh someone talk about kendre Miller and in the Chima situation let let me say this real quickly on that note while we're on the topic of Alvin Cima um because let me let me throw the topic on screen so you guys know what're what we're talking about camra camra um chimra is a potential League winner yet again he was on the moonman list last year we loved him and he delivered and and we talked about him in a aggressive fashion all offseason long in the beginning of the offseason and we said you know what as much as we can't stand what he did uh what we think of him at least right at that moment and still kind of now as a person um it didn't matter because it's business we're standing on business again Scott Hansen inbound guys don't go anywhere tell a friend retweet out or reex poost out the link to the show please tell somebody tell a friend do it live um chimra is facing no competition he's got no competition Tamm Hill is going to get tons of volume especially in week one so if you're in dire need and tesm Hills out there you might want to take a gander and see how he fits into your your team build and your roster requirements and your roster eligibility require requirements in your league because he's a QB tight end in a lot of situations he's a QB tight end and that is a a phenomenal thing to have on your roster especially in superflex you got taes Hill who's going to get maybe seven carries five carries maybe two or three receptions maybe a chance to throw one or two touchdowns a chance not to get one or two necessarily but a chance to throw one or two a couple Wildcat formation plays this is a guy that might get like 12 10 eight is a game we don't know I'm not saying tesm stays healthy or anything anything like that I'm not saying he starts 17 games at this pace but he might be a fantastic villain but let me tell you this let me tell you this uh I think that that chimra because there's no competition is one of the craftiest flex plays and you don't NE necessarily need to draft him as a running back two he's one of the most crafty running back threes and flexx plays or if you go ahead heavy wide receiver shopping hero RB heavy QB heavy tight end and you have this whole vacant hole at running back too you could have a rotation of chimra and potentially zamir or chimra and Jaylen Warren and Benson or you could even go a little bit more heavy hitting like Chase Brown Chase Brown Chase Brown and and and a couple guys like that uh moster and Jaylen Wright together have been kind of a favorite running back two of mine that has nothing to do with hn in Nan's going to blow up and explode in 2024 absolutely M potato have a season have a season aan he will H's going absolutely nuts hen H aan is the [Music] man his haters call H small but he is 9 ft tall [Applause] H H is the man with the master plan A [Music] he h h Chan going to the moon but but anyways H Chan going to the Moon regardless of that most and Wright are a fantastic running back too Scott Hansen inbound 351 of you in here punch the history of the NFL top five running back 40% of his games top 10 running back 50 and they barely they barely used him in the beginning they barely used him in the beginning he's gained 10 pounds mclen eventually for one bigger stronger player Dos if he has a big weak one he's kind of Presumed to be maybe the number one there in Green Bay and if he kind of proves he is and I don't know that he will but if he proves he is you got some trade bait there for will probably have a really good week one week two so trade Ford and and maybe dos or Ford and mclen I like mclen a lot try not to trade mclen if you can for one bigger stronger player but that's it I I probably wait on it bro I probably wait on it I like it I like it good team least a 7.5 out of out of 10 and that's not a bad score for me that's a really that that means you're like in the top six of all the teams without even looking at the rosters and if I give you an eight that means you're like top three or four and I I can't say that yet cuz I I don't see the teams I don't have time to see the teams but I can't see the teams and if you make one more move I can pretty much triple stamp or double stamp that you're in the top three or four so the 7.5 to 7.9 is a motivational score for you to go make one move make one waiver wire move doesn't have to be a trade move and and honestly it doesn't even need to be any move at all it could be your bench just ends up balling Coleman becomes a top 10 wide receiver like we think he could be Ferguson's a top three tight end something like that happens for your team McLaren's top eight eight for wide receivers then all of a sudden bro your team's an 8.0 and you're you're you know in my mind without even looking uh yeah Scott Hansen inbound um can't guarantee he's here right on the dot but the last two years he's been on the money like within the minute he he DS in this guy's a very organized uh very organized man so I I anticipate him in in inbound shortly hang tight appreciate everybody uh in the building right now and we'll we'll definitely uh attack some rookie content I think Scott again Scott loves rookie content and uh so do I it always is a good match when he comes in the building and we get to talk uh some rookies so we'll do that but again I'm going to leave with the iuk stuff just because I think Scott is probably the the best person we've ever had on the show to discuss this topic so I think if we were to just say oh we've had enough auk it would be a missed opportunity when we're talking to somebody that that's maybe dialed in more than was shocked he was still there good move they're both good moves I mean I probably wouldn't have gone Josh Al to be honest I would have gone hen and then you would have had a shot at let me guess did momes or Herz fall and if not stoud Str and Anan ar5 and Anan might be a tad better but then again I don't know who you got in the fourth round if you in end up getting somebody like Pacho or whatever Rapaport said today that nobody knows what's going on you know he referenced a lot of the Mickey Mouse tweets and randoms out there trying to pretend they have some sort of lead on this information and uh they don't no one has it and Ian rap report confirmed nobody knows anything nobody knows anything um where wins turns to Lo to losses and L's to wins says Daniel Daniel appreciate you bro appreciate you a lot uh Chiefs undrafted free agent um Let me let me let me get to the the news there's so much news today but a lot of it's minor um Carson steel has made the 53 man roster Carson steel is interesting like he's one of those guys that if anybody doesn't know who he is he's the one of the backup running backs in in KC number 42 I believe this guy is crazy he he he reminds me of like a uh like a mini Mike allstot and he's he's got that Vibe and he breaks tackles he's a tackle breaking machine it'll be interesting if something happens to Pacho and they're looking at the rb2 and they're like Clyde and then Prince can't stay healthy or something I mean guys there's a world where Carson steel starts a couple games this year would not be shocked if there's a scenario where Carson steel is one of our waiver wire talked about guys you never know no it it could 100% happen it could 100% be the situation and uh and just get get ready for uh uh for a wild uh it's might be a with your bull prediction so real quickly I just wanted to to to talk about this topic right here because you're probably the most dialed in person we've had on the show um that could maybe give us some insight and Ian Rapaport from NFL network uh said this on good morning football there have been several this is today there have been several times I've been ready to hit the send on a post involving a contract extension a trade and in the end I was never able to send it hit send um he then went on to say nobody knows anything which I think is the the the truth like there are a lot of I call Mickey Mouse Twitter accounts out there that are trying to throw mud at the wall make a name for themselves it happens all the time um I know you don't have anything on this specifically or maybe you do but what do you think ends up happening here the CD and does the CI lamb contract even though we know auk's not sniffing CD's money it all is relative it all is like a spiderweb just pulls one contract up the guaranteed money increases a little bit for every wide receiver when somebody gets 100 million guaranteed especially when two wide receivers now have 100 million guaranteed or multiple wide receivers so tell me what you think ends up happening here and did that did that signing did the CD lamb contract extension affect this situation in your opinion yeah I don't think it helped the situation let me put it that way because the market is going up and Brandon iuk is going to be want is going to want to be paid along those lines I I don't think the ners I I agree that nobody knows nothing and here's why human nature is to wait and to do something that might be a little painful until the last possible second and it might be painful for all parties involved the Niners don't want to spend the money to sign him to the long-term contract they might have to to to get him on the field and that might be painful for them auk might not get 35 million a year like he probably wants number one wide receiver money top number one wide receiver money that might be painful for him to take a little bit less than that it might be painful for the 49ers to have to agree to a trade and it might be a little painful for iuk to get traded to somewhere else and maybe that franchise doesn't give him so there is potential pressure points or pain for all parties involved and human nature is don't do anything painful until you absolutely have to and we are not at the beginning of the regular season yet and quite frankly this could go a week or two into the regular season last year at this time one of the greatest players at his position Chris Jones was holding out the defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs he didn't play in week one didn't play in the season kickoff game and there was bad blood and these type of things and I'm sure there were some tweets loaded up that were you know strongly worded or memes or whatever they they got to a painful Point Chiefs lost that first game Jones would have probably made a a difference in that game and lo and behold when it got down to it they got something done this this whole CD lamb thing sounded like it was oh man Jerry is really standing firm here and CD is putting out cryptic images on social media and stuff they got it done and I bet you they're hugging today yeah the two of them so it it people do not do something that involves a little bit of pain until the last possible minute and I think John Lynch and the ners and Brandon iuk they're not going to figure it out until probably the week of the week of week one and it might take them longer than that is this fair not to get you in in any sort of hot water or anything but do you think it's fair to say that the Niners mismanaged this from the beginning given the historical trend of the organization to wait to extend players Debo they they dragged out something that should not have been dragged out it may it created some animosity between Debo and the fan base it made Debo have a very bad season which he you know he even said that oh I met with Kyle that next offseason and we put it behind us clearly Debo was upset about the physical condition he was in just from being away and all that and and then you know Bosa Debo having the bad year and now auk likely looking at he's staring in the face of a season that he's either going to have a little bit higher risk of injury because holdouts create that that environment or he could be out of syn Out Of Tune and and the ners window I in my opinion is clearly shrinking it's still very much wide open compared to other teams but it was as wide as it's going to be last season and the likelihood of them having a healthy season this year is slim to none compared to last year they got away with having no injuries last year cmc's got the cry now um do you think the Niners could manage these things better hitting them at the front of the NFL draft versus later when things get out of hand with contracts I think the ners are in a bit of a perfect storm situation that led to where we're at now um where would you rank auk one to 10 in in terms of top wide receivers well I wouldn't put him in my top 10 you wouldn't put him in your top 10 no where do you think Brandon auk feels he should be paid in the top what he feels in the top five so we got a right there and that's just that's just without factoring in without factoring in that uh they pay they they pay the left tackle who's also sitting out Trent Williams right now is as we speak is not in Camp and he's already one of the top paid off heads of tackles but he wants more money and deserves it he's Pro maybe the best left tackle in the game a dominant Force they have one of if not the best running back in the NFL in CMC who makes top running back money and I realize the running back Market is what it is George KD makes top tight end money or thereabouts Debo Samuel is is right up there and guess what's right around the corner if Brock perie throws for 35 touchdowns and six interceptions this year he's he's he's gonna get yeah he's gonna get $60 million a year yeah and so I so that's a perfect storm on just offense managing the salary cap on offense but Scott party's not stand healthy if they don't get Trent Williams out there and and CMC is not out there if if he's not then this team looks different if Trent Williams is not out there this team looks different I think anytime Debo Trent Williams or CMC have been out of the game we've seen a different Brock py I'm not saying Brock pie can't overcome that with time or whatever adjustments but but the ners to me always botch contracts they're one of the best drafting teams in the NFL best trading teams in the NFL that CMC trade was absolutely just they worked the entire league I can't believe no one else even got in the the trade game for CMC at that cost it was insane um but like it seems like a whole different organization from February until the NFL draft because it's so clear to me that even if they want to say oh we were having we're kicking around numbers and and iuk didn't sign here iuk didn't sign there I get auk is kind of thrown fuel on the fire but I think that when Ridley signed his $50 million guaranteed deal you could have walked up to iuk and said 58 million guaranteed or 62 million guaranteed he would have signed like that the fact that we're now looking at probably 80 to $85 million guaranteed is what auk's probably wanting and the ners are probably still sitting on their February and and March evaluation of where they should pay him I don't know well and then there's the wrinkle in this that the ners Super Bowl window is like this right now right now it might be closing but it's wide open this is a team that could have maybe even should have won the Super Bowl last year a team that has had its Super Bowl that is going to close that George KD's getting older every year CMC health concerns Trent Williams is not going to play football forever yeah they got a Young quarterback who who uh you can have a brock p is Elite or not conversation but they've got a Young quarterback but but the window is wide open right now the time is now you do not want a talent like IU walking out the door and yet it looks like a trade might be the most manageable way when you factor in the salary cap and what he now wants because the wide receiver Market keeps getting reset um it's a messy situation and I go back to the I go back to the term of of pain there's going to be pain involved for the ERS either way they're going to trade him and you know get some get some something in return but they're not going to have Brandon auk in the offense they're gonna sign him in which case they're going to feel some salary capaign and then what happens to Trent Williams what happens to the pry negotiations assuming that that's what they're doing by the end and Debo and Debo because can you can you keep Debo and iuk in 2025 and to be honest with you Debo is the heart and soul of the team I don't care if he's got two or three years left versus are you just getting going it's like you know you got to think about two three your windows not five and uh and think about anything except for this window right now right right right like Jerry says he is who is in the NFC it is them it's the Detroit Lions you could have a you could have a a a surprise uh you know you could have a surprise you know Packers going in there the uh the NFC East mostly has warts um you know Eagles might be able to to write the ship after their collapse at the end of the year but I don't think people are high on the cowboy I mean the ners are the team in the NFC right now yeah Lions right there and then you then you kind of look at everyone else yeah um yeah like I said Philly if they if they figure out who they are they were mean at the end of last year lot of changes yeah anyway so it's right now it is right now for the ners right um it's a messy situation man and I'm not sure I'm not sure it's going to have a resolution by week one yeah okay I'll leave you alone on that one cuz I you for a while but yeah let's talk about this guy real quick this is so we talked on the show last year and and I said and I admit I'm going to take a big lap on this one um because I said he'd be the running back one I said he'd be the running back one I think I told you that on the on the show I I got hit with a and it's my fault I got hit with an Arthur Smith diversion I I I believe that I was just a year early I believe if Arthur Smith wasn't involved it would have happened and I believe this year it does happen rinse and repeat my prediction this guy is going to lead the league in total yards he's going to be this the Christian McCaffrey not that Bree Hall won't also have that that potential but this is going to be the total yard leader the potential total yard or total touchdown leader and he's gonna especially with Kirk Cousins and then penx Jr which I believe is a genius move absolute genius move by oh you're the guy I'm the guy I'm the guy hardly anyone else feels that right but right and and and and I Raheem Morris went into an interview when Arthur Smith got that job and when he was interviewing the first time for it and he said they said what's your plan at QB he says contingency plan I want to have my succession plan at quarterback in place so he's thought like this the whole people think this happened on a whim um and so when Arthur Smith got fired and and and he went back for an interview they said you were right and he says I told you we you know you needed a succession plan so I really believe this is something planned out and need to Edge rusher you need to look what they did judon look what they've done in in the offseason this this Falcons team is ready to rumble and there's maybe a better quarterback room because obviously Josh Allen and Mahomes and Herz and other guys uh but this might be the most secure in terms of you don't have the threat of one injury taking down this offense you have pennx Jr who I think could be a top 10 quarterback in the league and you got Kurt Cousins who sure not this year well I think he so a fantasy show cousins got forbid but let's say KT cousins gets injured in week one you're telling me you think pennx is gonna come in and be a top 10 quarterback no no chance from a fantasy football perspective I think he feeds the people around him enough that this is not a concern at all I think he's absolutely going to gun CJ strad type year and CJ Stroud's year was Comet that shot across guy that we might not see again for another yeah well I I like penck a lot I could be wrong be wrong I like penck Jr a lot he was my second raged quarterback going into the draft class I think a lot of teams punted yeah I like him long term I just I I just would disagree if if he had to start right now I I always good of rookie quarterbacks I know I know astounded me as much as he did yeah well if you want if we're going to go there uh remember what I said last last year I think it was exact is I said if you think my be on Robinson take is bold let me tell you my jir Gibbs take remember that no no no you nailed it and I Montgomery last year and we were both right quite frankly yeah we we were but if if you know let me tell you about this one jd5 this guy this guy to me is is gonna be better than Lamar Jackson on every level I I'm not saying it happens in year one necessarily but this is going to be this is a gun Slinger he's not just a gadget quarterback he's already better more accurate and and I think a better thrower than Lamar Jackson now is he going to make mistakes is he got to learn to read defenses yeah there's a lot of things he's going to have to weather through but he's pinpoint accurate this guy is a he was a 40 touchdown passing quarterback 10 touchdowns rushing 50 total he was he had 35 touchdowns from the pocket last year out of the 40 and so in the closest approximation you can have to the NFL facing SEC defenses yeah SEC defenses are not NFL defenses don't hear me wrong audience I'm just saying the closest approximation you can have if you go Bonkers statistically in the SEC that is that's notable he had a lot of NFL Talent around him too but yeah gu what do you think he does as a rookie yeah that's the thing Terry McClaren and then what you know what I'm saying the Johan doson move last week or was it a few days ago or last week yeah um that was uh that was a um a little bit of a surprise to me um uh like you think there's an iuk uh oh I mean iuk that is most associated with Pittsburgh and uh wait where else have we've been hearing about um uh Patriots but but Adam Peters is the one who helped identify who he was and and I just think that there might be something if there was a behind the-scenes move remember when the Browns and the the Browns trade for deshun Watson kind of came out of nowhere it was Falcons Falcons and then Browns I have a feeling that if a trade does go down it will be something of that variety is shocking like Adam Peters is you guys are all dialing the secretary and getting in contact with the Niners Adam Peters is is picking up the phone and and dialing Shanah hen's bathroom phone wait a second what did you just have in your hand what was that that they're gonna have to calm him down a little bit because he was the last time he played football he was the best talent on the field in in every college game that he played and he would try and make those extra Splash plays and he's playing the most important position I can't wait to see it I just I just would hope my hope for rookie quarterbacks is this you're a rookie first round draft pick and you're named the starter you know since week one or early in the season let's just do at the end of the year I don't even care about wins and losses for the NFL team as much at the end of the year I want pop in a 10pl highlight reel I want to see 10 plays from you that any fan anywhere could go that's it that's why he was a top five pick right there you might see him in week one Scott where where back to he started at uh Michigan State yeah and I I I saw that back in in in the Michigan State days you could see that that the Spartans offense was Chuck it up and let him let him make a play uh I like that I like that now and that one I would agree with you more is a here and now pick versus you know Daniels or penck uh here in 2024 I like it I like it and Scott's bold prediction drum roll okay I got maybe two bull predictions um one is an NFL B prediction it's not necessarily A fantasy you can use this information uh bull prediction number one would be there will be double digigit kickoff returns for touchdowns in this NFL season just the dynamic kickoff rule I think people are going to misplay it maybe early in the season and I think there's some that are going to pop I think this is like kicking into cover zero where it's everybody's up and you get past that first line and you're in the clear but but that's yeah oh look at you Speedy graphics okay double digit kickoff returns there's usually only three four five in an entire NFL season I think they'll be double digit this year but that's not fantasy uh related so much that's right my fantasy one would be this my nephew Tyler Hansen shout out to him freshman freshman at Boston College find him on campus ladies Tyler um Tyler Tyler has become a bit of a a bit of a a football fantasy football Savant and uh he he says his ride or die this year and this is not a sleeper but just that he will outperform his ADP Isaiah Pacho he's all in on Pacho he he's one of these guys my my nephew's one of these guys that does you know a dozen leagues or whatever he's trying to buy Pacho no matter where he doesn't think that c is gonna is gonna leech C has had his health issues and C was given the keys to the car and couldn't quite deliver when when he was a first round pick back in the day um beyond that they've got the fullback kid that just flashed a couple weeks ago in a um in a preseason game but that Pacho is GNA get the goal line carries absolutely the worry would be that Andy Reed and Mahomes are so creative at the goal line that they come up with you know shovel pass TDS behind you know this that and the other thing and the Exotics at the goal line but Pacho runs angry at the ground and he's probably going in the second maybe even third round of your drafts he could be a first round pick next year 12 plus TD is easy in Mahomes 40 plus passing touchdowns with ease worthy rice Hollywood Kelsey Pacho it's going to be moles revenge tour number one overall fantasy score this year I believe and and he's a big part he's a big part eventually some NFL team is going to three repeat eventually it's going to happen this it could be the year it could be the year Scott we appreciate you and on that like I I've I've watched shows before and I'm like yeah it's pretty good but this one I'm like I'm hooked and and I love I love Vince vongh he's so good you guys are are awesome together um but he's such a funny guy and this show is like uh how would you describe it it's like it's a it's he's a detective and it's got humor but it's not like a comedy it's a comedy drama but it's definitely I would say more drama and like detective stuff then comedy it's just he's so funny that he you know kind like The Sopranos were funny but it was not a comedy you know but it was like the way that that that the humor was written in uh it's great it's great for those that don't know who John Ortiz is I'm sure you do uh you you're most known for I mean you were in Caro's way you're driving the car right there in Caro's way bottom left corner he was in Fast and the Furious um and my favorite of of all time like literally one of my favorite movies is the the the most recent remake of Miami Vice and you were h yo and uh coach loco coochi loco what what my favorite line is uh get go to the movie catch a bite what do you say uh uh catch a movie get a bite yeah uh but but my favorite line was uh I'm a disco guy yeah I'm a disco guy love I love I love that movie that movie was was great thanks man well you know what uh what was great about Bad Monkey was that that was my first time back in Miami uh since doing Miami Vice so um I was able to uh get back in those warm beautiful Waters of South Florida and check out all the crazy changes that have happened down there I was saying in the same neighborhood of Bickle um but thanks about uh thanks for your uh compliments with Bad Monkey I'm so proud of it and yeah it's just uh it's always tricky to try to do comedy you know and Carl H who whose novels the series is based on he's brilliant you know and he was a former uh Miami uh newspaper reporter so he takes all like all of the crazy whacked out scenarios that are in the series that you think you know are only made for movies are actually based on real life man like these are like things that he covered as a reporter back in the you know 70s and 80s and stuff and and and so It's tricky to like to like have the slant of like making it funny you know and and I say it's a comedy it's a it's definitely disguised as a crime Thriller but it's laugh out loud funny is and Vince is um vintage vintage Vince swingers vaugh in this like Vince vaugh on steroids I guess it is more of a comedy than than it is a drama but I the way I the way I see it is like when someone says hey watch this comedy I'm not like thinking oh I'm going to love this as like a dramatic like you know serial killer show or some sort of detective show so I think that like for me I enjoy that it's both you know yeah but uh you're absolutely right because it's you know it's also like between 40 and and and 60 minutes so most comedies are like half hour or 20 minutes now like uh but but the creator of it is his whole background are comedies you know um with heart you know and real stuff like uh uh Bill Bill Lawrence is his name and he did uh scrub rubs Ted lasso yeah Ted lasso uh shrinking um and so he's got an amazing track record with um with bringing home the last but making it uh base with real characters that are that are real people in these crazy whacked out situations you know your two most recent projects well that are out there you know known by like me Bad Monkey in American fiction which is a a fantastic movie guys go see it or buy it on Apple TV whatever uh what's more fun filming a TV series or a movie like American fiction man you know those are both like cream of the crops you know so uh if it's with good people and it's good material um they're both like it's really hard to like compare and pick a favorite but um you know you throw in a rotten rotten tomato in the mix you know it quickly goes down um but uh but so so you know I've been really lucky you know uh with those two like in particular like the American fiction was like we hit the Holy Grail of the trifecta you know we had the critics loved it uh we loved working on it but then you never know if it's going to find an audience and that movie found an audience and the audiences loved it you know and that's what's happening with Bad Monkey and it's it's rare you know you sometimes are lucky enough to get two out of the three but to get all three is when the magic really happens and you're able to like uh ride that wave you know of all the hard work but with something like Bad Monkey it's more of a like a marathon so it's a series and it's lasts you know between six and nine months maybe even a year um so you're in it you know and you're you it's kind of like a slow a slow uh a slow build you know where like a film like American fiction I shot that movie in two days so it's a you know it's a real sprint so you got to go in there and make sure the mistakes were made in your bedroom the night before you know but when you show up on set you gota you got to show up ready you know and there aren't a lot of takes and it was a relatively small budget so you know you get four or five takes you know so you got to you got to be you got to be ready you got to come armed you know it's like Sunday a football Sunday you know you got to go in and trust that the work has been done and go for it I compare and tell me if I'm wrong on this I compare I think acting to the NFL sometimes in that you don't know what the movie Sometimes is even going to look like because you're filming in different sequences and you go to an NFL player and they don't know what quarterbacks are actually that good a fit for what teams you got Devonte Adams thinking he wants to go to the Raiders you know and he has no clue Antonio Brown got traded to the Buffalo Bills and it's like no I'm not going and so they cancel the trade and he goes to the Raiders instead would you say that that's how the movie business is sometimes you're just like I think it's good I don't know we filmed it out a sequence I have no idea definitely definitely before you show up on set right and then and but then you do it and you really you're you're you're of service for a fraction of what the movie is going to be when it's out in theaters right you're just as an actor you're just you just are in control of the acting in it and even that gets gets cut right so there could be a favorite take that I had or favorite angle that I had that was never used because the other angle tells the story or the pacing of it a lot better um and you just got to like let go and and forget about it and trust that whatever you did the day of was your everything you know and that's why working with good people that are great is is the key because they make you better you know I hope that when I show up on set I'm like my service and whatever I'm bringing to the table is going to make the people around me better you know so so there is like that's a very fair uh comparison I never like uh drew that correlation but um it's really interesting especially with all the trades that are happening of recent years you know I just think like yeah I just think Barkley like what's Barkley gonna like wake up to like after week one or Mixon you know yeah Mixon might have fallen off I think and he's in a great situation but it might be too late uh you know kind of like UHS in Houston kind of like Steven Seagal going to a really good movie set and it doesn't work anymore I think that's Mixon maybe John CL bam that might be aome yeah that might be St St so I have a couple of questions I'm like I'm shooting a movie now um I'm actually shooting uh I actually haven't told anyone this like publicly but I'm shooting this is exclusive news to the 475 folks out there but I'm shooting uh sequel to a very popular movie that was a couple years ago no uh I wasn't in the original um uh but Bob Odenkirk from better call saw was in this amazing movie that uh came out around 2020 I think the co year um called nobody okay did you see nobody I I I want to say I I remember it I I don't remember if I what's it about check it out man uh check it out it's it's a crazy like Bob is like you know he plays these characters who are kind of mild mannered and like no one expects him to like kick ass and it's basically him as an action kick yes yes yes yes I saw that I saw that I love that movie yeah bro I love that mie the sequel okay okay I love that what's your what's your role what are you doing in it I play you know there's a couple of twists in it but I'm kind of the bad guy I'm kind of I'm kind of bringing Jose yo back yeah that's why I got the stash okay okay the stash colored in and I have a cowboy hat real badass Jose was the one of the best I think one of the best characters I can think of bad guy wise you were you were so dislikable like you were likable and you dis you know you were you were not you know liked at the same time it was it was a great character I loved it thank you some of those yeah before before John and I became friends I loved that movie and I remember when when we first talked I was like uh he was ask for Fantasy Vice I'm like I love you in the movie Miami Vice that's one of my favorite movies and and I'm not saying it's a bad movie at all I don't mean it this way but it's not like one of those movies where it's like everyone's like oh that's my favorite movie ever it's like one of those those cult like Classics to me that I I put on like once or twice a year I absolutely love that movie it's that was awesome that was like a great a great uh a great introduction I'm like oh wow thank God he knows who I am I can ask him nobody that nobody that's that was a that was a cool movie that was a really cool movie yeah man and this one's shaping out to be a lot of fun it's really cool they got the whole original cast back and uh and me and and a couple of other uh juicy that's great surprises but uh but I bring it up because I'm I'm behind with my uh with my uh prep in fantasy and I got my drafts coming up so I I have a couple of questions for you H hit me with it let's let's let's hit topic by topic okay so if you had at number three a choice between CD and I know you love this guy and bean who' you go for to start your team yeah um I'm GNA so this is a complicated question and I'm actually going to create a video on this exact topic here in the next like I don't know uh 12 to 24 hours hopefully but really it comes down to you and knowing your league and if you believe you can get let's say a kirn or an Anan or a Barkley or someone like that in the second round with your pick you know get out you got to look at it then going wide receiver could leave you with the most flexibility and balance and and the better team however I will say it's it's almost impossible to mess up bejon and wide receiver because you have at least a Cooper cup or a London or somebody that's gonna fall that I find to be a really underrated wide receiver one um and you're going to Debo even you know potentially whereas if it goes running back heavy and you go CD lamb are you forcing something like Walker who I like but that's just too early a peo who I love but is it is a tad early um I you only you could answer that but I would ask you I could answer the question if you tell me what you think the League's going to do like is it running back heavy is it going to are they going to fly out the boards this old school I think they're going to like they've been traditionally running back heavy but I think they're going to they're going to listen to the trends and go uh a lot more receivers in the first round if that answers your question and yeah what pick is it three it's three out of 10 and 12 and CD might go and and then I'll be uh with faced with the decision of either Tyreek or or or bejan but I'm thinking I want more than Tyreek yeah now that he's back I I feel pretty comfortable I think he he's such a specimen I don't know like Jamar Chase worries me more with injury than CD with the hold out even though Chase is back too he's got injury history lamb just feels like he's not as big of a risk I I would say PPR full PPR or half PPR uh it's actually a standard in this one I'm in two other leagues but I'm going to say be I'm going to say be then if it's PR and even that that you know what that tells me I don't think those guys are going to listen to the trends I think if it's non PPR this is a bunch of old school drafters that would draft in person yeah yeah yeah so old school they don't even want to change a PPR this is running back heavy bejon bejan okay and I think you're going to be very pleased with the wide receivers that fall to you and in this scenario I'm not scared of I don't know if you've seen this graphic before or this animation this is called the tripod let me play it for you the tripod likened to pyramids in ancient Egypt consists of drafting one of valent momes or Herz to go with one of these round one running backs and one of these running backs in round two the tripod so so what what that what that is Oh wrong one what that is is is basically me telling you that I believe your league is going to absolutely miss the boat on wide receiver you're getting a tank Dell and probably a Devonte Smith or a DK even if you were to go running back running back Josh Allen running back running back Mahomes or running back running back so for me I and I've been deploying this I did it in Miss smid's league and I absolutely clobbered the the league I went uh I went beon Kiren aan Jaylen Herz and then I took uh Devonte Smith and tank Dell and I know know that's a lighter wide receiver room but for a reason you know it's by Design cuz I'm and then I got Rashid rice I mean I feel like I'm oh yeah I actually like him a lot um I really like that tripod thing man that's cool um do you have any any similar hesitations about Tyreek as I do um he's older so a little bit but I think the fact that that he's the only one that wasn't really holding out I know he had the wrist injury but or the thumb injury but that was reportedly small and he was just wearing a protective you know brace and I think he play with it no matter what um I kind of lean toward Hill and lamb being tied now but Hill if lamb was still in holdout mode my number one wide receiver would be hill by far really so lamb being back is I'm I'm jumping back on pretty quick even though there's some injury risk and there is there's definitely you know hold outs are not necessarily I mean a lock to get hurt but it definitely puts your body in a soft tissue vulnerability type of situation so I don't know I I guess I guess I probably go Hill for one more year if push came to shove you know and I think Dak gets a contract here next but there's still that whole you know Jerry doesn't know what he's doing he he's absolutely off his rocker so but but dak's out there at least so I I don't think you know I don't know I have I have I have such a such a age bias man with anyone who's close to 30 definely like like over I just like stay away but you know well go L then go lamb because I mean they're so close why why go against your gut when it's literally like I'm neck and neck on it so I would go land but but I would very strongly in your non PPR buddy League considered going running back wide receiver or maybe even running back running back and if you don't want to go running back running back quarterback tripod you you could still get a Debo or uh a DK or somebody's your wide receiver one and you can have Kiren and bejon or aan and bejon or whatever and to me that's that's going to be a huge advantage and you're also going against traffic you know you're you're going running back running back and when you consume that you're going to see a lot of people panicking in round three grabbing every single Rashad white they can find and you're going to see the wide receiver that's that are available when you're on the clock and you take your second pick the wide receivers that go off the board from that pick to your third pick are going to be like two or three and you're going to be like maybe maybe goes that way I can't guarantee it but then you're like wow I I see like most of the same guys still there and you're like I'm glad I wait so I was hoping that that DK would fall for some reason when I saw some of the adps and stuff to the fourth round but you think I should I should grab him if he's like at two and three no like like at the third the third round no I think you should use your your s adjusted rank um because and again not making assumptions that that your league I call them Grandma leagues where you know you're drafting with your grandma um and I have them too I have them too like my main buddy League that I've done for 20 years is I call that a grandma League it's not an offensive thing it's just that you know a lot of the guys stroll in they got a magazine still or they've just crammed the last like two weeks they haven't been on it they're busy and so you're not going to they're going to when they get to round three or four they're looking at the suggest the rank you know very few of them are going like 10 12 players down and punching it and then they're worried about are they going to get laughed at cuz I hav't been on top of things for a while if I go like this guy too early so I I think DK if he's sitting low let let him sit there and if people are making mistakes that means that and I think they will in this league that means that other players are going to drop that shouldn't so you're going to be fine yeah the other the other complicated thing with this one the other added uh layer of complications is that I'm I have a partner in this league and it's and it's a grandma league but it's like hardcore like for some reason I have two other leagues but for some reason emotionally yeah I get really riled up with this sleeve man um and these guys are kind of like little sharks so um but I have a partner and I have to there's a whole other game within a game of of negotiating with my partner and compromising and stuff so he he's gung-ho on a player at the two3 turn that I age bias was like he's a hard no for me I'd rather get a Pacho or a Williams and he's really high on Derk Henry what are your thoughts on Derk Henry um I mean could he trip and fall into 14 15 touchdowns absolutely and could he do that in 13 games he could but the thing that concerns me is that you know that offensive line got really bad it was one of the better offensive lines in the league it's now flipped into a bottom 10 I would say some say bottom five but bottom 10 let's call it Lamar Jackson vultures touchdowns I know Gus Edwards lived in you know Double T double digit land for a while uh you know he could have double digit touch or two he could have multiple touchdowns in one game let's put it that way like for multiple games so Henry could definitely have like 914 but I mean I I think I'd rather jump a year early than a year late and granted you know I said that last year too so it's hard to know but I mean he's 30 years old uh Ziggy how old is Derrick Henry Derrick Henry is 30 years old and was born on January 4th January 4th okay so yeah he's not turning 31 but he's 30 he's 30 years old and I don't know that one Ziggy off uh but he I mean man 30 years old the let me put it this way the last 30-year-old running back that was a top 10 running back I think was like I don't think we've had one for 10 years or or I'd have to pull up the stats on it but it's it's it's pretty brutal data you know you're talking about going back to a day that that was just you can't even you know let let me see if I could find I got some something on that but I would say the likelihood of Henry staying healthy on a full season is to none but I I agree with you I would not draft him 30 years old yeah not in the second round if he was he was going in round four in the beginning very very beginning of the off season it was like round five running back six uh six times 50% of his games 15 touchdowns in 12 games he has just as much touchdown capability if not more than Derrick Henry and he's got the number one offensive line of football what I would tell him is I want a player that plays with a good offensive line that plays on a good team I'm not saying the Ravens can't be a good team this year but I don't know yeah I'm I'm going say hard pass as second round yeah no thank you thank you I I I I needed that backup ammunition I appreciate it um all right last uh last question this is general and probably annoying to you but do you have any of like my like my favorite type of research is the Flyers that I take you know towards the end or even like 10th round or later do you have any any ju juicy names that I could put to absolutely go on a tear if he gets in there um I love uh I love Trey Benson I love Jaylen Wright Jaylen Wright is if anything happens to moster or aan he is going to go crazy they love him he's fantastic brillan Allen is a sleeping giant I hope to God we don't see him starting because that means Bree Hall got hurt but even if not he could have like 8 to 10 touchdowns in his role and if he gets in there like good good luck to the league he is an absolute monster and he looks so fantastic those are RBS wide receivers I would say I love uh let's see Davian Wix is nice I think he he goes J you wait on Chase Brown you wait on jsn you let him gain value and then you come for everybody and try and take someone's monster that's that's kind of sluggish out the gate that's what you do and there's nothing else to do that team is straight fire unless you can get rid of Chase Brown and Debo or chase Brown and Devonte Smith now for a a hill or something or St brown but that's it type of know in in that offense if there's an opening there's points to be had so um the question I actually called in about maybe maybe Ron does know a little bit more because he's a Steelers fan so I don't know you know they have guys that camp on the radio down there and stuff but what is what's the outlook on Warren's injury hey real real quick he says yeah go I heard I heard today that they're expeced him to play week one yeah he's he's going to start week one and so we we have I know he said that but yeah the team did too so okay yeah the team said yeah he's he's expected to be good um which is cool because I still really like him we took him off the moonman list because he got injured I don't think I'm going to throw him back on or anything but he's a mid-season monster for a reason I do think there's a takeover at some point it's not to say that that naji's bad it's just I like Warren better I think he's just a better player overall um he's hungry he's nipping at the heels of the other player versus the the other way around and then we have Arthur Smith who usually does something you don't think he's gonna do so I mean it makes sense and then I don't know I I think uh yeah I think it's it's I I think it's both because Na's on a contract year he's slim down he's motivated this year so I think it's going to be a tough battle I don't I don't think it's going to be so easy I think it's going to be a great he's motivate he's motivated but I disagree with what you said a month month ago or whatever when they when they decided not to pick up his fifth year option um I know you said that that's a good thing it'll motivate them but to me it's a bad sign that they're not committed to them so if they're not going to pick up the fifth year it could go either way yeah I I hear what you're saying it makes sense yeah disree yeah it makes sense Ron yeah it makes sense what you're saying but I just I view it differently I just think that that not picking up his fifth year option means you don't have the trust in him necessarily you don't see the value of having him on another year like that's kind of w that's kind of wild like you could fifth year option and and then still sign him next year like you know what I mean you could still franchise tag him you could hold if you really like a player you will 100% pick up their fifth year option because you can hold them longer and you can make sure you get a long-term deal done you can franchise tag them not that running backs are franchise tag very often but you could franchise tagm if he was that good to not pick up his fifth year option means you do not see him as your future running back in this moment in time you're hoping he proves you wrong and you can explore you know whatever you can still tag him or whatever but it's you know it's not something that I think is very positive I do know that Tomlin was trying to mold him into becoming uh one of the one of the leaders one of the captains um so there's that so I don't it just could be a um a thing with Khan you know Tomlin and Khan they work good together but it's not gonna agree on everything and in the end Khan's got to do what he
